This place is truly a hidden gem! Such a great find in the neighborhood. Everything I tried was amazing, from the classic chow mein to the flavorful pepper shrimp and the delicious jerk chicken loaded fries. And you have to try The oxtail empanadas! I’ve never had anything like them before, and they are an absolute must-try! The ambiance is cute too! The wall art and the beautiful green floral wall make for some great photos. What makes this place even more special is that it’s a family-owned and operated business. The owner is incredibly kind and welcoming, making the experience even better. If you haven’t been here yet, you’re seriously missing out!

The restaurant is very clean. The young lady that took my order did an amazing job. The chicken fried rice was excellent!! Very very tasty….the taste of Guyana 🇬🇾 I would say. I am always looking for that authentic Guyanese chicken fried rice and Carifesta delivered! Yummy! Now I am eager to try their other dishes, including their chicken curry. I haven’t tasted a good one yet in NY. We shall see 😉

I wanted to try this guyanese restaurant today but unfortunately I was disappointed in their portion size for 14 dollars I got literally 4 pieces of chicken. The only thing I can give any kind of credit the curry had decent flavor

I have to amdit that the shrimp fried rice and regular fried rice was delicious. The fried chicken was really good. However, the BBQ chicken was actually jerk chicken that they cooked in bbq sauce as you can see that it was burnt, that was disappointing. I would recommend double checking your food before leaving to make sure you have the right order. Overall, I enjoyed the meals I had. This place is truly a hidden gem! I would definitely give it a second try.

Food was horrible, rice was stale and chicken was burnt. Went back and they had the audacity to argue with me saying the food was okay. If this restaurant thinks this is good quality, then they should'nt be in business.

Drove over an hr to try this food after seeing a tik tok and it did not disappoint. My favorite Guyanese Chinese use to be Palm Court in Jersey City but this place blows them out the water. Looks like ill be taking this ride every weekend.

Sadeandthecity on TikTok got me here. Food: Cha Chi Chicken: 4.5 Lamb fried rice: 4.5 The food is seasoned very well and the I appreciate the freshness of the vegetables in the fried rice. The lamb in the fried rice was a little dry, though. Overall I love that nothing needed a sauce or dip to make it taste better and I look forward to trying more of the menu.

Food was delicious. I had the shrimp fried rice. I will definitely revisit the establishment. The lady at the counter was very pleasant.

So happy I listened to the reviews! I'm not even half way through the food and I had to stop and write this review. I'm always skeptical ordering from new places on Uber eats, but this Jerk Chicken Fried Rice is perfection on a plate!! The fried rice has to be top 5 best fried rices I've had. Jerk chicken is definitely a bit spicy and being African I'm use to spice but it's that you can't stop eating it spicy. More then satisfied with my order and will most definitely be ordering again (maybe the shrimp for next time).

D E L I C I O U S! Great food and customer service. Everything is made with TLC and absolute freshness. The food is well seasoned and honestly there is no bad thing in their menu. You will be in awe with anything that you order. Such friendly service. They are truly customer oriented and connected to the surrounded community. I'm not one to eat spicy foods but I definitely eat that jerk chicken!! Even if I have drink it with a glass a milk...it's way too good to put down An overall great restaurant and definitely recommend it.

They don't have a consistent schedule. They shut down the Bronx location. You need to call ahead to see if they are open. DO NOT POP UP.

Loved it. I have been up and down White Plains Road in search of the best Jerk Chicken and had not found anything that held my attention since when Arawak used to be the spot to go to before they closed. Looking for something different to eat other than the traditional Friday night take out, I stumbled upon the Yelp review of Carifesta which offers a fusion of West Indian and Asian dishes. I cannot more highly recommend the Jerk Chicken Fried Rice meal. Rarely, do I order any dish that I do not put some type of hot sauce on. I am glad I tasted before adding any sauce because the rice was perfectly seasoned and moist. And the most exciting part of my Carifesta experience is that finally... finally I had the Spicy Jerk Chicken I was looking for. It is not drenched in sauce, and not dull in flavor... This Jerk Chicken has just the right amount of heat and kick. I will most definitely be back there. The only hard part is now going to be deciding to get the Jerk Chicken again, or experiment with another dish.

Poor customer service and communication They should state that they open at 3:30..4 ...and not 11..11:30 as stated on their website. I called at 2 pm because last time I went there it was closed and on my 2nd call ( first one , no one answered ) I was told that there was only rice prepared.

The first time I went here, online said they are open but they were actually closed. Disappointed with them. Fix the timings. They need to fix the hours that are up online. It's THE WORST. My boys and I drove out there again two weeks ago after a Yankees game on a Saturday afternoon and it was CLOSED how????? Like how are y'all in business? I DONT GET IT.

If you're into Chinese food with a Caribbean twist, this is the place for you. Jerk chicken and fried rice, or even any type of chicken for that matter. The food is great and fresh since it serves the a big part of the community. The only small hiccup? Wait time. If you order on the spot, you'll have to wait since they are serving everyone and their Guyanese moms (obviously every mom as well). Order ahead of time and pick up, it'll make life easier.

Cash only, portions are small for the price. Fried rice was amazing! Curry chicken I could have made better at home.

I came here really unexpectedly with my family because I wanted to try Guyanese Chinese cuisine. We ordered the jerk chicken fried rice, roasted duck fried rice, and house fried rice which comes with beef and shrimp. It took approximately twenty minutes to receive our food which was good considering that everything is made fresh. The woman in the front is super nice too. As for the food, I LOVED the jerk chicken. It was spicy and flavorful. I've tried a lot of jerk chicken recipes that aren't as spicy as I like, many are too sweet for me. But carifesta probably has the best jerk chicken I've ever tried. My mom loved the house fried rice too, she said it's completely different than the fried rice you get at your local Chinese spots. Only thing I wasn't a fan of though was the roast duck. I know duck is a very fatty meat but the roast duck had a weird smell to it. I probably wouldn't order that next time I come here. I'd maybe opt for the shrimp or the jerk chicken again. Can't wait to be back!

Wow! This food is no joke. Everything was seasoned and spiced perfectly! Jerk Chicken lo Mein was amazing!!!! As was the pepper shrimp. Nice and spicy. Can't wait to try more from the menu. Super nice people too!

So so so addicting. Get the beef lo mein and house special rice! The family who owns the place are all nice people and great to talk with. Best chinese guyanese food around.

Recommended by a friend; blew my mind! I'm normally a Chinese food purist ( no Asian fusion for this girl) but.... this Guyanese- Chinese food was truly delightful! Big, satisfying portions of fried rice flavored just right plus bone-in seasoned chicken pieces with crispy skin yet moist and tender meat. Chicken wings are good too, according to friends. The noodles were ok, good but not quite as impressive.

Great food. Regular Chicken and Jerk Chicken Fried Rice are good! However, Pricepoint DOES NOT reflect portions given. Meaning very small portions not generous with servings at all. They need to increase the portion size for these prices. Too stingy with it.

The food is good however, the amount of food isn't worth the price at all. You pay 8 bucks for a chicken fried rice and you get quartered of a baby chicken instead of half of a REAL chicken and you order a large of curry goat and you get a small size round pan. SERIOUSLY......

9/23/15: This restaurant is open again YASSSSSSS. Chicken Lo Mein is on point. Their chicken fried rice is good and wings. Not spicy but just right. I am sad to hear that they are closed. Not sure where to get Guy-Chi food in the North Bronx. Will try their Queens location one of these days.

The food can be so so sometimes the rice tastes stale and the chicken would be too fried. There are other things on the menu but I really dont mess around here keep it simple and u will be ok. Ypu cant ho to wrong with the fried rice

Finally got a chance to give this place another shot. We got one order of jerk chicken and one order of fried chicken. The jerk chicken was a lot spicier than I remembered but still good. The fried chicken was great as well. It was like Chinese takeout fried chicken but a lot less greasy and better quality. Glad we picked up food from here because so many places are hit and miss in the neighborhood.
