The 14 Best Restaurants At Newark Airport - New York - The Infatuation

"Nothing is guaranteed when it comes to air travel—except people standing up as soon as the seatbelt sign turns off. But one thing you can count on is Carlitos for some excellent tacos on fresh made tortillas at the airport. Sit at the bar and watch the staff crank out dough on the tortilla press while you eat some smokey, plump plantain tacos." - anne cruz

My connecting flight was at gate A15 in Newark airport. I stopped for breakfast which was delicious!! I got the brisket, egg and cheese. The brisket was smokey and very flavorful & the jalapeño green sauce, cilantro and other toppings just brought it to the next level. The restaurant next to Carlitos was charging $20-$25 for breakfast so it feels like a steal that I got my delicious breakfast for less than $10. They have seating with outlets do you can charge your phone; very convenient since I’m at an airport & my power drained during my first flight. I would definitely recommend Carlitos.

I stopped by this restaurant at the airport because they claimed to make fresh tortillas. I even saw someone making them by hand, so I was excited to try them. I specifically asked for corn tortillas, but they gave me flour instead. When I pointed it out, they just said “that’s all we have” — even though I could literally see another person making corn tortillas right there. If you’re going to advertise fresh, authentic tortillas, at least be honest about what you’re serving. Definitely not the experience I expected.

I give credit for them making fresh tortillas, which I didn't receive one, but for 8 dollars and 1 taco, it's not worth it at all, and the service could've been better. I wouldn't return here at all for a taco, but maybe I'd get a cocktail.

Had the chicken tacos, chicken was dry and overcooked. Chicken came warm not hot. Needed some seasoning. Wife had the chicken plate.

I got the brisket egg and cheese taco. This thing was substantial and delicious. Took a little bit but it was made with care and attention. Good ingredients and I am satiated.

While the service in atmosphere are fine, the food is terrible. If you are looking for authentic Mexican food, this is the furthest thing from it. Food is ridiculously overpriced, and the meat is extremely dry. There’s also not much flavor in any of the tacos. It would be beneficial if they had a more flavorful salsa or hot sauce to put on the tacos. But honestly, this is not worth it, and I would rather go to an airport lounge.

Really great place for tacos in terminal A. They make their own corn tortillas (see the picture). I also like the fact that I could get 3 chicken tacos for $13. Add a Corona and it's still only like $20. 2024 update: Prices went up. It's now $16 for 3 tacos and $8 for a Corona. Still a great value especially in an airport... Highly recommended!

Great airport food! Can’t beat! Had the chicken, steak, and sweet plantain quesotaco. Staff was fabulous. Thank you all for your hospitality :D
