I’ve been three times, and each visit to Carlo’s in Yonkers has been a delight! As an Italian (living in NYC for just over three years), I hold Italian food to the highest standard—yet Carlo’s American‑Italian twist wins me over every time. The cozy, warmly lit dining room feels like home, and the service is friendly and attentive without ever being intrusive. Highlights include their braciole simmered in a rich tomato sauce over rigatoni, stuffed clams, and the cannoli. Pair any dish with one of their carefully curated wines, and you’ve got a meal you won’t soon forget. Highly recommended!

SO good! I love chicken francese and it is the one thing I just can't get right. Have been searching for a place since Francesco's in White Plains closed and omggg I wish I went sooner. Baked clams- 0 fish flavor. Chicken francese- exactly how I love it. BF's chicken parm with vodka- too good. Portion could have easily fed 3 people. Free bread was also so, so good! Will definitely get the garlic bread next time. So excited to add this to the rotation. Added bonus- the meter on Tuckahoe Rd closest to the restaurant was broken, so free parking

We had our family repass gathering. Lunch was served! Everything was excellent. Chicken Marsal, Eggplant /Parm pasta & vodka sauce, house salad, & salmon with roasted potatoes. The accommodation were great. We confirmed at the last minute & they were happy to assist. The large party staff was very polite, service was professional, the atmosphere was great. We could talk to pur loved ones. Bathroom accommodations good & clean. My personal thanks to the staff.

My friend and I were in the neighborhood looking for another restaurant, but decided to stop at Carlo's "just to give it a try."No regrets whatsoever! The food is delicious and plentiful. The service excellent. The atmosphere was familiar. Rebecca took our order and checked on us while we were eating to make sure that everything was fine. We will definitely go back to Carlo's soon. It's the kind of place that makes you feel right at home.

If you craving an authentic Italian dinner without paying Little Italy prices, then head to Carlo‘s. Such a treat from start to finish. Portions are super generous. (Pics are gnocchi and Lasagna)

Haven’t dined in at Carlo’s in years—what a great return! Came on a lively Tuesday night (half-off wine bottles!) and left impressed. The updated menu keeps Italian-American classics with fresh twists. Drunken chicken was huge and flavorful (chicken parm in vodka sauce with Calabrian chilis over fusilli). Wild mushroom ravioli was rich and satisfying. Sides like sautéed spinach with garlic are simple and delicious—they do the same with broccoli. Portions are generous, and prices are very reasonable. The renovated upstairs dining room is spacious and comfortable . While some of the space features plush banquette seating, there are also regular dining tables for a more classic setup. A giant, perfect cappuccino sealed the meal. I’ll definitely be back!

How this place doesn’t have all 5 stars blows my mind. This is the definition of an off the charts restaurant. The food here is excellent to say the least, and on top of it, VERY reasonably priced. The drunken chicken parm (chicken parm w/ their house made vodka) is seriously the best thing I’ve ever had. Definitely recommend making a reservation here as it does fill up.

Massive portions, incredible flavor, and amazing service! Loved everything they brought us. Some of the best homestyle Italian food I’ve ever had. Up from Phoenix on an official visit to West Point and I picked this out of a hat. Perfect choice! Give it a shot.

I've been going to Carlo's with my family since I was about 12! Recently the dining room was updated nicely. The food has always been amazing and reasonably priced. I frequently order and pickup and when we have time, we stop in. We did that last night. The place was packed, the food was delicious, and the service on point! Charles is an amazing asset to the staff. I have been taking my boys here for the last 16 years. I have been coming here for 40+ years. We love it!

This review is for lunch, not dinner. I never had a negative experience for dinner. It might be busy then, but it never deterred me nor was the service poor or strange. I do not write negative reviews, but this last experience was the proverbial straw. The food is absolutely delicious. I usually get chicken parm or francese. It's delicious anytime, in restaurant or delivery. Great retro music inside, rat pack. No one beats the chairman of the board. Old school is lovely and rare these days. The issue is service at Lunch. I hesitated coming because of previous issues, but I really wanted Carlo's. This is the third time I received odd, off putting service or less food than others who also ordered the lunch portion. Lunch portion is two cutlets. Dinner is three, usually one larger and two slightly smaller. I received one cutlet. In addition, this is the second time my plates or bowls were removed before I was finished. When I come for lunch, I dine alone. I tip well and in cash. Another time, everyone else was offered a free coffee or dessert but I was not. This time, in addition to less food and plates taken, other parties came in after me, ordered, ate, given check, and left before me. I waited for the check, had to ask a few times. The busboy was a better waiter. Promote him. I like to come but I won't if this is what happens. Maybe they don't like solo patrons. They were not busy; many empty tables. It's not like I was taking up a two top with people waiting at the door. I've been coming here for 40 years. A baffling shame.

Outstanding food! Authentic Italian since 1958. Today, my niece, the Italian Queen Laura and nephew-in-law, Artie the Wrench, catered much food from Carlo's. For my sister, BIL, and my nephew/ godson Joey. Chicken scarp, chicken parm, penne alla vodka, mixed salad, great Italian bread, fresh grated parmesan cheese. Everything perfect. Cutlets very thin, scarp w red peppers (no potatoes). Mangia mangia!! 5 yummy stars

I continue to return and continue to have an amazing experience. I even ordered takeout and the food is just as fresh. Even when I don't make a reservation, I am accommodated. They are kid friendly, the staff are detailed orientated, and make you feel like "family". I will continue to support this business whenever I'm craving Italian food.

Excellent Italian food my very favorite is Drunken Chicken Parm. Good service and ambiance. Sheila is a first class professional hostess, treats everybody with the same gracious smile and respect she greets everyone else. It is always advisable and just to be safe to make a reservation. Try the Warm Bread Pudding, it's a winner. Where you park downstairs is their Pizzeria and you can order take out any of the dishes you have in the restaurant to take home.

The best restaurant in all of yonkers, ny, I eat here at least 3 times a month. The house salad is so delicious, all choices on the menu are amazing

This little tucked away restaurant Yonkers is the perfect Italian red sauce joint! It will leave you overfed with great apps, entrees and desserts while being served by a really kind team of servers. The space is small (but has upstairs seating for overflow) - it's slightly cramped with tables but it doesn't matter. Your neighbors are busy eating/not listening to your table. There are so many good options for salads, pastas and entrees and don't forget to look over the daily specials. Tonight my husband and I shared the spiedini alla Romano (essentially fried parm-crusted bread with gooey mozz in the center served with an anchovy-caper sauce), an arugula salad ( that was huge! And full of candied walnuts, Gorgonzola and cranberries) and a shrimp far diavolo. It was exceptional- and when we come here we wonder why we don't come here more often.

Wow! the food is great! Their wedges are pretty big!! The meatballs, eggplant parm is the best!!

Friendly staff, delicious food, especially the drunken chicken parm. They also provide huge portions even if it's for one person. The drinks/bartender however were absolutely awful. The cosmos were just glasses of juice, you can tell it's bad based on the color in my photo. A cosmo should not look like that. Same went for the margaritas. The drinks are all juice and sugar. Food was amazing though.

We had a 30th Birthday family dinner for 12 for my son last night, and things could not have gone better. The restaurant was packed, but the staff got everyone upstairs quickly and even added another table at my request when I thought we needed a bit more room. Our waiter Charles and the staff were outstanding, polite and professional despite the pressure of dealing with a packed house. The food was, as usual, delicious and plentiful. We've been going to Carlo's for 25 years, last night was one to remember.

Most amazing food! I have never had a bad meal here and have eaten here for over 50 years. I have had my daughters showers here and my granddaughters christening here as well. The downstairs has been redone and it's beautiful. Thank you Sheilagh and Pete. You're the best !

I ordered a small personal pie because I was starved. After I promised myself I would never order from there again because the last time I did the cabbage in my salad wasn't washed properly. Yes I know it's expected but it shouldn't be. Especially paying nearly $25 for a salad. Today I forgot my Lunch so I said let me just order a personal buffalo pie. Biggest mistake of my life. I could never see that place again the same way. When I went back there was barely no acknowledgment. Try hair nets. Absolutely disgusting and if your like me and have a phobia of hair. Then don't look at this. If I could I would tell everyone to never go there. And I'm not even a helper ‍-5 stars

This review on father day I'm regular customers move to Yonkers 10 years ago from Manhattan I order Steak silhouette linguine with calamari/ shrimp. Home made lasagne paccheri Amatriciana chicken Monte Carlo it's all big orders. For pick up I waited more than 3 hours there for my food . Quality of food it's extremely bad pasta half cooked . And lots of Drama going on at that Kitchen. Person who manger there SAMMY one of the rudest person with customers and employees who work there . Very unprofessional person with no class how to handle customer. And employees working he yelling on like crazy there one lady was crying there . I think she take phone orders it's very sad . Then saw him yelling and cursing on kitchen staff . As well like a mad man . Kitchen staff saying pasta machine not working I told to owner and did not fix it more then . 4 days wow . That's why my pasta was half cooked. I saw one more person there this my first time may be he manger he handle the situation with lady crying.very professional way some of the customers he handled in that yelling situation nice way . But it's very sad this place getting worse every day this not my first time even my friend ordered from here the feel same way . I don't I ever order or dine at this circus place specially that crazy manger Sammy yelling on customer and employees there .

Food is superb. My folks went there for 20 years. But honestly high turnover in waitstaff and managers. However, I went 2 or 3x to book a catering party at my home. I was told Pete or Shiela would be out in 10 or 15 minutes. Then says they are busy too busy with maintenance other excuses. Thank you

BEST ITALIAN FOOD AROUND! In fact, best restaurant around. Been coming here for a few months, and wish we had started going to Carlo's sooner. The authentic, old-school dishes are on-point, and the more modern plates are amazing. The apps, meals, and desserts have never disappointed. The steak for 2 is fantastic, and very (very) reasonably priced for 2025. Tried many other local Italian spots, and none of them compare.

Well this is a the best that Italian gastronomy has to offer. This is a memory retreat for me visiting Yonkers and my favorite Italian restaurant growing up The ambience is indeed a close knit family restaurant still run by the generations before them with Pete and Sheila The service was delayed but who cares? Thii S is the real deal and brought back only Memories of Family and love Take a look at this food and tell me it's better anywhere I Miss Carlos pizza and all of the fare we dined on I even had a Yonkers ipa I cited when I left and need to visit more as this is the place I live you Carlos and thank you for the memories

I've been here many times when I lived in the neighborhood and was excited to return during a visit home. The restaurant was full but we had made a reservation, and we were seated right away. It took almost 40 minutes for our party of five to receive our food. My chicken parm was good, but I had ordered shrimp parm. They offered to get me my original order, but by that time, I was starving. Their gluten-free pasta is awful. There's no reason in 2024 to have terrible gluten-free pasta when there are so many delicious options to choose from. I have good memories of Carlos but will try a different Italian restaurant next time.

I'm happy to say we've been back 2x and it's been great!! There were different waitstaff who we loved, and were very efficient and friendly .we loved our dinners and we love the cappuccino, however we miss the original glass it was served in , not a dealbreaker

Good home cooked Italian food. Be careful though, servings are generous! Pizza is excellent too. Owners really care about their customers. Great little family eatery.

Stopped in off the street from a recommendation and glad we did! Unfortunately I got so happy when the meals came out that I got right to it and forgot to take pictures of the outstanding meals they put in front of us. Just the garlic bread picture, and just look at that masterpiece! A nice relaxing atmosphere, casual, which is all me, and very friendly staff. The food was phenomenal too! Real Italian effort in crafting the beautiful creations coming out of the kitchen, using quality ingredients (as far as I can tell but sure seems it). Sure seems like a winner to me! An hour from my home but we'll be back. If you're in or around Yonkers, NY and looking for a great Italian restaurant, try Carlo's. The chef is from Milan, Italy (and you can tell.)

This restaurant has my favorite Italian food in New York. The inside gives off old school Italian vibes and the food definitely matches. The calamari is the best I've ever tried, it's crispy and not chewy. The chicken parm is perfectly cooked and the portions are excellent. The drinks are good. The servers and bussers are friendly and remember regular customers which makes the place feel more authentically Italian. Would definitely recommend this place.

Food was cold. The first floor was empty. They smashed everybody into the second floor. It was really hot. We tried to open the window. They said they will put the AC on first time there been wanting to go for years everybody craves about the chicken Parm had it. It was cold. The cheese was just slid right off. I'm a chicken Parm fanatic it was OK. The potato croquettes were great extra crispy. These are two dishes are my friends dishes. I forgot to take dishes on my own. They were basically out of everything the beers they were basically out of everything except for what the waiter told us that carlos out of my system

Came here on a busy Saturday night so I will say from experience make sure to make a reservation beforehand because if not you will wait awhile. The wait is worth it ! The food is absolutely amazing and fresh to order. The ambiance is lively and gives old school Italian restaurant vibes. Servers are friendly, attentive and quick. The food is rich, delicious and full of flavor. I ordered the lobster ravioli and baby shrimps in a brandy cream sauce which was decadent and flavorful. Portions are large (8 ravioli!). Would for sure come back :)

Carlos has been our go to Italian restaurant for as long as I can remember. The food is fresh, delicious and plentiful. The atmosphere brings me right back to the good old days. It's an old Italian restaurant that has been around forever. The decor downstairs hasn't changed much but the dining room upstairs has been updated and is warm. If you like loud and down to earth , you'll love this place. Everything is amazing. From the Spedini to the Cappuccino everything was delicious. The only issue is the long waits on the weekend even if you have a reservation. It wouldn't be too bad if they had a comfortable place to Wait. Other then that there's nothing bad to say.

I've had pizza all over the world, all over Ny, CA, Chicago and Kansas City and Carlos puts them all to shame. This is absolutely the BEST pizza you will find anywhere

First time at Carlos restaurant. We waited while to get water and bread. I noticed two co-worker was arguing in Spanish lol. Ginger ale tasted watery. I went there to try the chicken Francese, it was ok, the lemon taste hit me first. I was looking forward for a balance taste. The bill came out to $44 for two people. Not bad at all. Would I ever go back there again? Probably not.

A+ all around. The chicken parm was straight outta nana's kitchen. I asked for amaretto on the rocks and they didn't hesitate to dig up a new bottle from the liquor cage. The cappuccino was outstanding. And the atmosphere - meravigliosa!

Never disappointed. The food is always delicious and the service is great. Don't pass up on the Garlic bread or the eggplant stack appetizer which is yummy All the entrees are wonderful and you will get to take plenty of it home ad the portions are tremendous Loved my Sangria as well. I have been a loyal customer for over 35 years. Pete was the owner and now his son runs the business. I can tell you the food here has always been and remains consistently Amazing! If your a local you know Carlos is unmatched in taste and food quality. I had many parties in their 2nd Floor Space and the staff, food and ambience is second to none. Parking can be a tad challenging on weekends but the food here is worth a little wait!

Unpretentious Italian eatery serving generous portions of classic Italian (and American) cuisine at reasonable prices. The steak here rivals those at most steakhouses I've been to. The only thing I've ever had that did not live up to Carlos's high standards was a tad-too-lemony chicken Francese. Twice! But not worth removing a star.

We have been eating at Carlo's since Pete was there. We had my daughter's baby shower there and now my 18 year old grandson enjoys the food also. The food is consistent and delicious.

Yum!!!! Some of the best Italian food I've ever had! I got the penne alla vodka and it was SO good. I was in Yonkers for a weekend from Manhattan and a friend who grew up here recommended this restaurant. The food was DELICIOUS and so filling! The service was great and the restaurant really had that old school Italian vibe which I find very charming. Wish this was in the city!!! I'd be here all the time.

Tried to pick up an order that consisted of a meatball sandwich and a salad. Not only was is not ready they charged me $42. Ridiculous I will never go back.

I came here for Mother's Day with reservations at 1245pm. When we were seated, there were no menus. We waited about five minutes before receiving menus. Among the first words out of the waiter's mouth was that it was a 90-minute time frame per table. The calamari was sub par and Mozzarella sticks were overcooked. It took close to 40 minutes for our two entrees, chicken parm and penne to come out. When I asked the waiter if it's normal for such a long wait, he responded with it's Mother's Day. After getting our food 40 minutes late, someone who looked like a manager asked how everything was. I responded with, disappointed at how long it took for our food to come out. Her response was rude. It's Mother's Day. We make fresh food. There was no apology or acknowledgment of fault. The chicken parm was a good portion and tasted good. Penne al vodka was ok. Very small portion. If the food is fresh, maybe the first thing they should tell customers is that and note a long wait time. Secondly, if a customer says something that bothered them, maybe humble yourself and be understanding.

I had the grilled shrimp over escarole & beans, my husband had grilled chicken & broccoli rabe wedge, others had shrimp scampi, risotto & chicken parm wedge. The food & service were excellent & portions large. Probably the best escarole & beans I've ever had. Even better than what I make & I thought mine was really good. Wish I could get their recipe. Easy to get to & convenient parking too. Will definitely go back.

Food is delicious and consistently five stars. The staff is very accommodating. On Valentine's Day, roses were given to each woman at the restaurant. This is above average for a local Italian restaurant.
