"Carmela’s is one of our favorite Italian restaurants in Hollywood, and a great place for people who think a bowl of pasta over $20 should make your eyes roll back (and not leave you starving afterwards). The food here is great, and served in generous portions. The fresh, light-as-a-feather pastas include tagliatelle sauced with a creamy truffle sauce, and pappardelle in a hearty duck ragù. The interior has polished concrete floors, a chandelier, and a huge melted candle display that makes the dining room feel like The Phantom of the Opera’s lair—but without the cheesy soundtrack. We celebrated our anniversary tonight at Carmela’s on Harrison Street, and it was absolutely perfect! From the cozy atmosphere to the delicious food, everything was spot on. The pasta was creamy and fresh, the dessert was heavenly, and the presentation was beautiful — even our anniversary plate was a sweet surprise. A special shout-out to our amazing server Kaycee — she was friendly, professional, and made our evening unforgettable. Her warmth and attention to detail turned our dinner into a celebration we’ll never forget. If you’re in Hollywood downtown and looking for the perfect place for a romantic dinner, date night, or special occasion, Carmela’s is definitely the best choice. We’ll be back soon! ❤️🍷✨

Had dinner here solo at the bar. Nicely done restaurant and the staff was very accommodating and friendly. I got the fennel salad and the tagliatelle pasta and added shrimp. The food was delicious and I was happy with my order until I got my bill. The shrimp was an extra $15 and I normally wouldn’t mind however I had three shrimps. I thought that was too much for three pieces of shrimp. It should be 5 pieces. Other than this, the food was good and the ambiance was nicely done. A great place to go solo or for something more intimate.

Enjoyed dinner solo at the bar while traveling. Fred the bartender was great. Atmosphere is very nice. The food was very good, but not outstanding. That said, I would definitely go back. I had the beet salad and the chicken parm.

Such a wonderful atmosphere for a family dinner! The pasta tasted very fresh and was such an individual experience in of itself because it is currently a rarity in my life and properly made noodles stand out which was 100% the case here. The chef hit the mark with the classic flavors, the cook and overall presentation with everything we ordered. We had great service, terrific wine, fantastic Italian cuisine and a lovely family experience...what else can I say?...we were smitten with Carmela's.

This place used to be a little gem. I’ve been there like about 30 times with spotless service and high quality food. The drinks used to be perfect and service at your own speed. Now they have that weekend rules that you need to give your full order right away or we don’t serve you attitude making the dining experience unpleasant. Everything is rushy, staff and manager push you to eat quickly. It’s not an high end dining experience anymore and I won’t go back.

Carmela’s is hands down my favorite italian restaurant in the area! I have been there countless times and the quality and service never disappoints me. The staff is so welcoming and creates such a wonderful atmosphere. The food is to die for Chef Anthony never fails to disappoint! I love every single dish I have tried here and trust me I have had over half the menu! The specials are also always great! THE MEATBALLS ARE TO DIE FOR!!

Went here tonight for my anniversary dinner and it was absolutely amazing. From the service, management, chef… every interaction we had was top notch hospitality and service! Frankie the manager was great and friendly. We enjoyed talking to him and he made us feel like family. Daniel was our server and he made great recommendations and was knowledgeable about the food and menu. This will now be our regular spot. They have different specials daily so be sure to call and ask!

Amazing bar! Love their drinks and bar service! Cool eggplants. I also tried crab cake here long time ago (it was a special) and I even took 2, that’s how cool it was ! I wish they will bring it back! Big portion. My favorite drinks are here.
