"Hudson is full of cute restaurants that would feel right at home in the parts of Brooklyn inhabited largely by stroller-wielding parents and children with highly-developed palates. Cafe Mutton falls into that category, but there’s something else going on here. This restaurant feels like it was made for a rapidly-disappearing version of Hudson—one that remains eccentric, affordable, and connected to the natural world around it. Things like sausages and head cheese are made in house with the kind of care and attention you couldn’t manage in New York City without charging at least three times as much. The country pâté, served in sandwich form, is the kind of dish to go out of your way to eat again and again. Other things, like the potato chip and french onion dip omelet, are masterfully done, but will leave you feeling like you’ve just stood in front of your parents’ fridge, door open, eating french onion dip with a spoon and contemplating your lost youth. As the name suggests, this is a cafe, and the atmosphere is casual. It’s best to check the restaurant’s Instagram for the most up-to-date hours and menu, since both seem to be in a general state of flux. The space is small and home-like, with cute vintage dishes and a handful of seat-yourself tables. On weekends, expect crowds and a wait at almost any time of day. On weekdays, the atmosphere is a bit more relaxed." - Carina Finn

Pricey but worth it. The steaks are fantastic the appetizers are great and the drinks are well made. Went here a few times for special occasions and always left feeling good. You can bring your own wine for a cork fee but no hard liquor as they have a full bar.

Service was spectacular. Crab cake was delicious but not meal size. Hanger steak was flavorless. Burger was average but very greasy. Fries were ok. Atmosphere was beautiful. I just wish the food was better and surprisingly our waiter didn't ask if we liked it. The owner asked but kept talking and didn't wait for our response. Unfortunately the food is why we won't return

One of the best Steakhouses in Brooklyn. Have been here more than once. The drinks were awesome. The food was beyond great! Definitely try the pork belly cotton candy (the weirdest mix I have ever seen) but tastes fantastic. And the calamari I have no words for. Definitely a great place for dinner...

I came here for dinner with a Groupon. We ordered the pork belly with cotton candy, crab cake, hanger steak, and the lobster risotto. Their signature dish, the pork belly with cotton candy was interesting and delicious. I did not think pork belly and cotton candy would go together but they did surprisingly. The crab cake was tasty with a lot of crab meat. The steak was tasty and was cooked medium rare like we requested. The lobster risotto was not seasoned and quite bland. The service was good, attentive and fast. Overall, the food was okay not spectacular. Also, it was so dark. I like dim restaurants but it was definitely too dark even for me. The prices were a bit high even for Park Slope so I don't know if I would come back.

This place more then exceeded my expectations. The service was great and the food was delicious. Had the Peruvian Style Crispy Calamari for something different as I usually don't eat calamari and it was great. Also had the Prime Hanger Steak which was very good as well.

Amazing hospitality and food. One of the best calamari dishes I have ever had and...PORK. BELLY. COTTON. CANDY. Also the beef tartar was great and the presentation was fun with the applewood smoked dome. Every time I walk by this place I will be stopping in to spoil myself. Bravo!
