Caroline, maam I need to shake your hand. First off the gentleman at the counter was a pleasure. He was so kind and sweet to us. The raspberry donut is delicious. That glaze is to die for. Now the lemon donut with lime zest was my favorite. I love a tangy treat. The donut-eclaire combo was amazing too. The creme inside!!! Omg. The glaze donut was a hit with my daughter. My boyfriend had the Boston creme but he’s a Dunkin guy. So it was a little too gourmet for his liking. Overall I think this place is great. I am definitely returning !

I enjoyed the donuts here. I had the cronut looking donut with the cream and strawberry on top. It had a nice crisp on the outside and it was nice and flaky. I also tried the coffee one and so far I think that may be my favorite but I still have the crème brûlée to try tomorrow. The lady there was very nice, I’d come back.

! Wandered in after brunch to grab a quick donut. Had the lemon and it was DELICIOUS. The service was even better! The person at the counter overheard us debating whether to get the lemon or apricot and he gave us the second for free!! they both were AMAZING. I’m running the nyc marathon for the first time tomorrow and this was a great bite and even greater vibe before the big day.

Three weeks ago, I stumbled upon what can only be described as transcendental experience in the realm of donuts. As someone who has been raised on the European homemade versions of these pastries, my standards are set sky- high. However, these donuts shattered every expectation and transported me to a culinary bliss reminiscent of my grandmother’s legendary baking. The dough, light, airy, not overly sweet, perfect balance that leaved me craving for more. The donuts are bigger which I appreciated once I tried them. I bought 8 pieces, variety of flavors. Each one more extraordinary than another. It was the orange cream cheese donut that I wish I could eat every day ( I love cream cheese based cake creams aka red velvet cupcakes/ carrot cake creams). I finished my big donut before I left the store… once I tried it I couldn’t stop enjoying it. Even the humble sugar donut, often overlooked for simplicity, was a masterpiece! Boston cream, another gem!! Do you love Nutella? Go for Nutella one-great! If you seek donuts that are on a next level, look no further. I will definitely be back!!! I just wish they will sale them in DC…

The donuts are genuinely very good, but the opening time is misleading. The shop lists 8:00 a.m., yet I’ve gone twice at that time and was told nothing would be ready until around 8:30. If products aren’t available at opening, the schedule should reflect that. Also, the communication could be more welcoming — the response felt abrupt rather than helpful. Great donuts, but early-morning experience needs improvement.

I've been a fan that I've returned enough times to enjoy every flavor of doughnut Caroline's has, including most recently their orange cream cheese doughnut. I also zealously love introducing others to these extraordinarily delicious doughnuts. They've received raves from friends and family—my friends becoming immediate fans of the creme brûlée doughnut, among others—such as this opinion from my 10-year old nephew (a doughnut aficionado if there ever was one), "This is one of the best glazed doughnuts I've ever had!"

Dunkin donuts are terrible for your health (processed) to the max, they taste better. My stomach is still turning, These donuts taste like they been sitting in pool of motor oil,(old), no flavor at all. People who said they have flavor (Ha) must think salt & pepper is the only seasoning they need. Creme burlee top was so hard I tried to save my teeth, cream filling was so bland, Dulce was disgusting, tasted like malted laxative. Never again will I go into a shop I haven't reviewed first. 8 dollars they should be giving them away they were so bad.

Solid, but not so impressive. You should not pay 10 dollars for two doughnuts. Krispy Kreme is right up the block. Whole Food is right up the block; these places have superior doughnuts. I’ll say Caroline’s doughnuts are on par with Dunkin’s Doughnuts. Dunkin’s is superior due to being less expensive. Eat well my friends.

We got the Crème Brûlée and the Dulce de lèche... yumm. The crunch and the crème was on point.

I surprised my dentist, Dr. AHMED and her staff @Smile Design Manhattan with your amazing donuts.. They absolutely loved every bite..

4 stars for the good donuts, 1-2 stars for the not so good. If you want to stop reading now I'll get to the point: Boston Cream is incredible. I haven't tried everything yet but the basics are not very good - the glazed, the simple sugar donut. They are too doughy and bland and I hate to say it, not sweet enough, and they didn't strike me as that fresh. For $5 for a single donut it should be warm and incredible. Maybe this has made me realize for simple flavors I prefer cake donuts. The cronuts are also disappointing. Cronuts should be incredibly light but have a crisp and chewy sweet crunch. These were just like plain donuts, and for $6. You're better off doing glazed Krispy Kreme. Now for the good - the filled donuts. The Nutella was great. I think I had a raspberry that was excellent. And then the pinnacle - the Boston cream. Worth visiting the shop for. Perfectly greasy, delectable pastry cream filling, smooth chocolate icing.

Wavering between a 3 and 4. Some of their donuts are really good and some I am not so sure about. I have had most of them. Glazed - forgettable Strawberry filled - I really liked this one Key Lime - true to the name, but not sure if it is worth the price tag Bostom Cream - I liked this one, great flavor and dough Rasberry iced - I liked this except I don't like the Meringue on top Chocolate - I liked this classic I usually return because there are not many donut shops up here.

Caroline's gets Four Stars. I had a very good experience but the employee did say one thing about Yelp that turned me off. He's got Five Stars on Yelp so why complain! I am pleased with the seating options both inside and outside. The place is clean and the prices are posted so there's no surprises. You can pay cash. If you want a treat for your dog it's $2! I like that! The donuts are mouthwatering. Next time maybe coconut or coffee flavor. I didn't have my friend to share it with today. He said his stomach was acting up! I've been here so this review is overdue. I'm not indulging today but I will be back after the holidays. I like the hours because Caroline's opens seven days a week at 9am. I have to eat sweets early in the day! I'm recommending if you're in the neighborhood.

This is a cute donut shop and a great addition to the upper east side neighborhood. Very clean and smells wonderful. The donut I had was the coffee one. I could not decide on one between the cinnamon one and coffee. The guy said to me the coffee one is wayy better. So I went with his advice. I will deff be back ti try others. There was only one guy there helping l, luckily it was not crowded at all.

You'll always remember your 1st time eating Caroline's Donuts! I received four donuts as a thank you gift and couldn't wait to dive in. The four donuts were decadent and each one unique and memorable on its own. My favorites were the strawberry jam filled donut and the orange donut with cream cheese frosting. My son loved the chocolate donut. Caroline's Donuts gets two thumbs up from me! These donuts are a must-try if you get a chance to visit the actual store. Loved every bite! My taste buds are grateful for the sweet adventure of gourmet flavors Caroline's Donuts gave us. Caroline's Donuts get my Yummylicious Seal of Approval!

Fancy donut store. There are 3 types of donut : Stuffed, glazed or Cronut-hybrid. We tried them all. Each around $5 although the cronuts more expensive. The stuffed with Nutella was probably our favorite. The glazed have many different flavors and colors, eg Dulce de leche and raspberry. The cronut hybrids were a bit of a disappointment. Didn't taste that special, neither croissant nor donut. The place smells nice and had some French staff, hopefully it does well.

What a great addition to the UES! My boyfriend and I just had to try this spot. And it did not disappoint! I got the Boston Kreme while he got the Raspberry and Glazed donuts. There's some seats outside which was great and the place is clean and tidy. We will definitely be back!

Walked into Caroline's and was immediately greeted by the chef/owner who couldn't have been any nicer. I ordered a creme brûlée donut which was perfectly perfect: the dough, the filling....oh the filling... I almost considered getting another one but decided against it this time around. Definitely coming back. This was a 10 experience for sure. I've now tried three different flavors: Nutella, creme brûlée, and orange cream cheese. I am a total Nutella girlie, can never get enough, can have it in large quantities.... surprisingly as amazing as the Nutella donut was, it was not my favorite of the three that I tried. The orange cream cheese and the creme brûlée were absolutely fantastic. I also love how pleasant every person at the register is, super friendly and personable. I'll definitely be trying more flavors.

Stopped by for this new addition in UES, the coffee donut was very airy with a delicious glaze, I really enjoyed that it's not too sweet. Paired perfectly with a hot coffee! A bit pricey around $5 but it's a nice lil treat once in a while. The staff were friendly and joyful saying it's so great to smell the donuts everyday. Excited to try other flavors!

Have been looking forward to the opening ever since I saw the banner up. I got their creme brulee donut and a friend got a coffee and a nutella donut. Their yeast-raised dough keeps it light and fluffy. The creme brulee donut was good but I wouldn't get it again. I really enjoyed the vanilla-based creme inside (which I am assuming may be the same filling used for boston creme/bavarian creme donuts). Overall, great sugar-y sweet and fluffy donuts. Variety of flavors and options to choose from. Small little shop that will keep me coming back for more. Welcome to the neighborhood!

You know pastries will be good when the cooks are French. This is a great example of high quality cuisine applied in a very popular product in America, the donuts. This small shop has a good variety of flavors and beverages to choose from. I ordered their raspberry donut and it was delicious, the raspberry glaze on top and the merengue bite melted in my mouth, absolutely delicious, the dough was just standard but good too. The owner at the counter welcomed every client with a smile. Lovely little place offering a unique product in the area, definitely worth trying, next time I'll order the donut-croissant.

Always fresh and made with top ingredients. They are adding new flavors which keesp things interesting. The simple glazed mini donuts rivals any other brand, hands down. The braid is delicious but I am still a Boston Creme fan. Fresh made creme with fantastic chocolate. These donuts are decadent and worth the trip.

Just perfect. This place has created doughnuts that are classic, creative and delicious.

I don't leave many reviews, but felt the need to leave one for Caroline's! Great service and absolutely amazing donuts. Fresh and flavorful. Out of the donut shops I've tried in NYC so far... Caroline's is the one to beat!

Fresh, flavorful donuts that you simply cannot find anywhere else. There is nothing quite like biting into a warm Caroline's donut on a Saturday morning. Each flavor is so well thought out with a complex profile. My favorites are the braided glazed which are light & airy inside and the Boston cream with a not-too-sweet pastry cream filling & rich Belgian chocolate topping. These are always a hit!

I love donuts so I was excited to try this place. A big disappointment. All the doughnuts have the same dense tasteless dough as a foundation with a thin topping that gives the doughnut its name. Two stars because staff is friendly and packaging is good.

Great addition to the neighborhood. Top notch customer service and the donuts are terrific. I look forward to trying more flavors.

Finally a real amazing donut place in the neighborhood. lots an awesome flavors to choose from and excellent customer service. And the donuts are so delicious. My new favorite place. Extremely Recommended.

Tried this new place. Got a cronut for $7. Quite dry and not enjoyable. They're around the corner from me and I never see anyone in there. Plus they end the day with trays of unsold items so they're not moving. If you're going to be an expensive fancy donut shop then you need consistently good donuts, neh? I may try them once more in case they had a bad day, but I think the people have spoken. Also, they've made no effort to woo the locals.

Donuts are great and I love them but their hours are 9-6? They don't open until 9?!?!?! What a joke. Are they donut makers or bank tellers? Many times I would've picked up a dozen to bring to colleagues in the office but the donut makers are still fast asleep in their beds when I head to work. This is NYC. American dream! Set an alarm, it's time to make the donuts !!!!

Service is amazing and the donuts are delicious! Lots of great flavors and interesting donut-eclairs which are fun and unique.

I live and work on the Upper East Side . Diagonally across from my job next to Graces Diner a shop creates The best doughnut's I ever had. Every flavor and combination is phenomenal. The artistic and thoughtful way each doughnut that is created is perfect. Not to sweet and not to dry. Run and Grab a dozen. Don't walk don't debate just go.

Delicious orange cream cheese donut! The little bits of orange pulp in the cream cheese really made it work. Decent service and atmosphere as well.

Caroline's Donuts is destined to be legendary on the Upper East Side. It is a French bakery that makes incredible doughnuts that are beautiful, creative and incredibly delicious. Their baked goods are truly more than just doughnuts--they can also be served as desserts or just incredible treats that everyone will enjoy. So far, we have tried several different ones. The "Dough Cro" with sugar, which was a cross between a sugar doughnut and a croissant. It was incredible. The Crème Brûlée doughnut, which was topped with caramel and filled with homemade pastry cream, was one of the most delicious baked goods I have ever had in my entire life. There are many more doughnut options to choose from, from Nutella-filled doughnuts, to doughnuts that are topped with a choice of lemon, chocolate, raspberry, coffee, coconut, apricot, mango or Dulce de Leche (cocoa nibs). This is a destination that is worth traveling to from all parts of the city, as there is nothing else quite like or as good as Caroline's Donuts anywhere else. Luckily, it is possible to place a pick-up order in advance and pay for it online. Just call the bakery directly. The owner is extremely friendly and the bakery is very clean. There are delivery services, too, such as Seamless Web and Grub Hub, that will bring Caroline's Donuts to your home. I highly recommend this amazing bakery. We bought an additional dozen of assorted doughnut (see photo). Caroline's Donuts is a gem on the Upper East Side! I highly recommend. Five Stars out of Five Stars Top Rating!!!
