Denver’s Best Tacos | Eater Denver

"Looking to the West Coast for inspiration, this Greenwood Village operation makes a mean fish taco, while its shrimp come juicy and so plump — accompanied by not only onions and cilantro but salsa verde and crema — that they’re almost too big for the handmade tortilla; same goes with the tender, deeply browned cauliflower that substitutes for a choice of protein. Speaking of choices, diners here can also opt for hard shells; soft, crispy cheese shells; and other variants on the standard vehicle." - Ruth Tobias

The Best Burritos in Denver | Eater Denver

"True to its promise of West Coast–style Mexican food, this easy-breezy taqueria fills a number of its burritos with fries, including the breakfast burrito with chorizo, bacon, and egg; the California, which includes a choice of six meats or cauliflower; and the Surf & Turf, bursting with carne asada and shrimp as well as guacamole — all of which also come with a mix of cheeses, salsa, and crema. In other words, they’re massive; count on leftovers." - Lucy Beaugard

Google
Carrera’s is a solid option when your taco fix rises up. The portions are plentiful and taste authentic. The staff is pretty quick with the preps so you won’t wait too long for your order. I think they updated their seating to accommodate more patrons inside and out on their patio. The only issue I ever have is finding a parking spot in the shopping center where it’s located. This small aggravation, however, is no reason to miss out on the really good food Carrera’s serves.

Google
Carrera’s taco is a cozy taco restaurant that serves up California style Mexican food. I have been here a couple of times getting takeout but it’s been a while. We had the opportunity to eat in the restaurant. Overall the food was ok. The quesadillas were on the salty side, the nachos were massive and they had solid fish tacos. The food is generally good but I just think it’s a bit too heavy for my personal preference.

Google
I never want to hear another “native” comment on Mexican food until they’ve come to Carrera’s. You guys have it good. Chile Relleno burrito? Amazing. Margarita? Amazing. Ryan, Josh, Amber and the whole squad? Amazing. The music? Fire. This is the spot if you’re missing Southern California burritos or if you want to experience great burritos/tacos.

Google
I saw this place on IG and it looked so good. But it was kinda mid. Tacos were smaller than expected shells were not warm meat was just ok. Prob won't go back since it's a little over priced for what you get. 5 taco ( 2 were keto friendly Vampiros) for $47

David

Google
Overall, I would say this is a pretty great little taco shop, especially for Greenwood Village. I tried several different tacos, three Quesa Birria tacos 3 Vampire Tacos with Carne Asada Asada. I would truly say that the Quesa Birria were just OK, I got them with Crispy cheese, the meat was especially dry, even though that is not how those type of tacos are normally made. They are usually swimming and juices. The consume was acceptable, but not great. I was actually surprised by the vampire tacos, those were pretty exceptional! I will definitely have to go back and try some of the California style burritos as well as partly the Carne Asada fries as I did particularly enjoyed the Carne Asada that was in the vampire tacos. I definitely suggest trying it here, try something different. It seemed like they had a a lot to offer, perhaps it was just an off day. It was definitely not normal taco stand, check it out!

Google
Burritos are excellent. Would be nice if they had an option for a smaller one. They're all like 5lbs each.

Google
Aaammmaaazzziiinnnggg! I haven't done Taco Tuesday in a while. Today, I got some because it's Tuesday. Best decision ever! And only 3 mins away from work! The crunchy tacos were a whole new game for me. The shells are definitely homemade. The cashier/probably owner, if not, should be! They were welcoming and suggested carnitas for my queso taco choice! Deeeeelicious! When he said, "Thank you for coming in, see you next time!"It's like he already knew..... and yes, I will be back. I enjoyed it just in case you couldn't tell.😁😋

Google
The California burrito didn’t have any pico or guacamole. Just fries, chicken & clumps of unmelted shredded cheese. The rice & beans were cold. And everything tasted very salty. And it was $20.

Yelp
A+ 10/10 recommend. Try the birria it's my favorite. C- 4/10 recommend. The amount of meat packed in here is insane. I had to dump most of it out there was so much.

Yelp
Top worst Mexican food I have ever had Flavorless carne asada, pork, carnitas.. everything lacked so much flavor breakfast burrito Cali burrito everything flavorless. This does not represent THE WEST COAST. We literally threw away our food horrible. We fast all day and getting right too it the food was not good, did not hit, the meat was dry and the guy literally said the carne asada is sooo good.. no, no it's not.. the carne asada looked gray. Took the L, will never be back. Place was jumping but majority of people were drinking. DO NOT RECOMMEND The business owner reply shows they are bad owners! My husband called them to address his reply and he starts cussing him out when he tells him his food is not a representation of the west coast and meat was dry. He called him a b**** and told him to pull up! THIS OWNER IS disrespectful and embarrassing and shows ten folds they are lead by the wrong things and not gratitude not customer satisfaction and NOT RESPECT for people and their money they are spending. Take a look at the owners replies to google reviews that are 1 star, he is just as disrespectful! This man is NO MAN.

Yelp
Just ok. I think this place is overhyped. We ordered multiple items, which I'll rate individually below: Carnitas Vampiro Taco - this was the best tasting item we got. The pork was delicious, but it wasn't true carnitas style. It was more of a braised pork than crispy style, but it was flavorful. I'm not sure what kind of cheese they used for the shell, but it was weird and fluffy and didn't really taste like cheese. Wasn't a fan of that. Elote - this was pretty good. It was really creamy and the corn was very fresh. 3.5 out of 5 Asada burrito - this was just ok. The portions are huge, and it's a great value. There was a lot of meat and a lot of guacamole, but the taste was not authentic. 3 out of 5 2-1 burrito - this was pretty disgusting, honestly. There was definitely some conflicting flavors here.

Yelp
I was in the area and decided to stop in and check this place out. I ordered the Baja Fish Tacos and they were the best fish tacos I've ever had. Hands down delicious!!! Crispy light batter with juicy fish and fresh toppings. They have their own yummy sauce inside. I didn't even need salsa or hot sauce. There is more than tacos and there is a clean eating area inside and outside. GO TRY THIS PLACE- you won't be disappointed! And they cater too. I moved here from CA 20 yrs ago and finally found a little place for amazing tacos!

Yelp
tiny spot near pindustry that did not disappoint. PS: parking is a b. once you enter, we encountered a line, but they were pretty expedient to take orders and send one on his way until they call yer name to grab yer grub. the aroma permeated the small restaurant and made my every salivary gland dance in anticipation. service was pretty quick and you know yer in for a treat when everyone working is latino. three letters: Y-U-M! i had a vampiro taco with shredded beef. coulda used more sour cream, but still happy with the portion and savory flavor. the kiddo had a carnitas and a birria vampiro taco. those were pretty spot on as well. so tender and flavor-packed as well. we requested the salsa on the side, in order to savor each flavor separately. we preferred the green- it was refreshing and flavorful, whereas the red was more spicy and smoky (yet very tasty!) kiddo gave his surf n turf burrito a 6 of 10. he didn't care for the fries within the burro. we highly recommend this establishment!

Yelp
Holy mother of fancifying fast food, the Carrera's Crunch Wrap is unbelievable! My husband asked if I wanted anything because he was stopping for a burrito, and I said to just grab a few extra tacos and I'll pick at it all. I try and eat healthy so planned on having something else and just grabbing a few bites. I offered to place the order online so he could just pick up and when I went to the site I saw it... the Carrera's Crunch Wrap. Once I noticed it the tacos were a thought of the past. I am the Crunchwrap Queen. My very favorite treat from Taco Bell I only let myself indulge in when I am very, very drunk. And here is a FANCY crunch wrap (two words, things are trademarked)?! How could I not? When my husband arrived home I was up in seconds, running to the kitchen to get my hands on this thing. And I was not disappointed. It's huge. An absolute hulking, giant meal. We shared half and I was full, but kept eating it because it was so delicious. Imagine a Crunchwrap, but with real ingredients. And love. It was absurdly delicious. Perfectly fried exterior, lightly salted, meat-packed interior with a perfect queso-sour cream-cheese-lettuce-meat ratio. Just amazing. And for the record, I did not have just a few bites. I literally stopped caring about my pants fitting at first bite. I felt like an influencer eating this thing, it was so beautiful and delicious. One of those must-have items that sets an independently owned restaurant apart. If you're also a Crunchwrap Queen, run to Carrera's to get yourself a Carrera's Crunch Wrap.

Yelp
Queso tacos are Exactly the kind of grilled tacos I was looking for! Extra crispy with the cheese burnt just perfectly all around and stuffed with meat! Found my new taco spot in the DTC!

Yelp
First time in with family. All I can say is that the only issue I have with Carrera's is that they aren't in my neighborhood so I can eat there 3 times a week. Everything was stellar, but each time I go, I WILL be ordering Chips with all the extras, the shrimp tacos, and those Churros. Looking forward to touring the entire menu. 10/10 on this visit.
google avatar

Rebecca S.

Yelp
I would give a solid 3.5 here. Hands down my favorite thing I ordered and would come back for are the ground beef nachos. This is my kind of nachos! I would pass on the tacos. I felt like I was catfished by the pictures of Birria quesadillas. Pictures and in person they look like a 10/10 but they're pretty bland. Maybe it's because I'm from houston or maybe it's because we had legit Birria tacos off federal a few days ago. But hard pass on that. Service was amazing and place gets busy. Would come back for nachos. Oh, and the mango strawberry drink was sooooo good.

Yelp
So Cal in the house. IYKYK Best baja tacos, California burritos, biria. Worth the trip. Plenty of parking. Go hungry and with people. Good for solos with counter seating.

Yelp
This place came recommended and it didn't disappoint. Although I tried a few proteins, if I had known, I would have just gotten the carnitas. By far, the best option in my opinion. Everything about it was perfect.

Yelp
Good food with great service can't complain. The location was kind of hidden but definitely not to far off the beaten path. I would recommend the California burrito. Only issue we had was not enough spice for our liking definitely needed just a little more salsa but overall will be back for a second visit

Yelp
I could easily post a compliment for Carrera's Tacos DAILY!!! The food and staff are sincerely incredible. Give it a try and you'll be glad you did. Love this restaurant!!

Yelp
Oh. My. God. This place is a total find! West Coast Mexican flavors, high quality ingredients, clever menu, something for everyone. Big fat fresh Mahi Mahi Fish Tacos, Queso Tacos with crispy shrimp and choice of protein, and the yummiest Burrito Crunch Wrap. Homemade tortilla chips and Horchata! The chefs definitely added TLC. Great for carry out. Yummmmm! Definitely coming back!

Yelp
Coming from the coast, we never thought we'd find amazing California burritos and fish tacos. I had some life changing tacos in San Diego and these are a close dupe. Located next to our favorite ramen shop, Carrera's has all the staples. The tempura fried fish was big, topped with the best mayo based sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, and cilantro. It quickly gets soggy from all the sauce but all of the flavors are spot on. You'd think 2 tacos wouldn't be enough food, I was satisfied after this. We also got the California burrito which was so hefty in size and weight. Well worth your money. We didn't even finish it. I bet you could split this with someone (if you wanted to). If you've been here let me know what you love here! Otherwise a solid place to get your taco fix.

Yelp
Ok before I get into my review let me just say I understand that some places are better at cooking certain menu options than others. The reason why I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because the last time we went the ceviche was great quality/tasted clean and the pastor quesadilla I had was pretty good. This time around we switched it up. I asked if they had any orange sauce which I thought was a normal question since this place prides themselves on being a California inspired Mexican spot and they looked at me like I was crazy. After spending the last 5 years in Cali, finding Orange sauce was about as common as hearing the word hella! Which is saying a lot. So that was weird but I'm not knocking them just because of my sauce preference. On to the food. I ordered the surf and turf burrito which was stuffed with fries, wife ordered the carne asada fries and we got a side of elote to share. The surf part of the burrito was good since the shrimp had a good cook on it. The asada didn't have the grill or steak taste you usually look for in an asada. It just tasted like beat up meat and looked about the same. The French fries were cooked but missing anything that resembled crispiness so what's the point? The tortilla itself that was holding the goods together was already ripping at the seems from both sides so it was logistically a nightmare to hold from the beginning. Kind of felt like the food version of having the zipper of your suitcase open up at the airport and having your clothes go everywhere. My wife's carne asada fries had basically had all of the same ingredients but with no tortilla or shrimp. All of the same details apply. The elote was alright at best. The ingredients all seemed to be good quality, but I personally prefer when the corn is grilled before because when they steam it then add a bunch of other liquidy elements it just turns into a mess and overpowers the flavors of the corn. It's unfortunate because I had a lot of hope for this place. The menu has exactly the type of Mexican food that makes me feel nostalgic so I think there is definitely potential here.

Yelp
Don't walk, RUN to this place! They are located in Greenwood Village, just off of Arapahoe Rd. I decided to go grab lunch with a co-worker and impressed is an understatement. The staff is super friendly, I believe that the Carrera brothers were cooking. The young lady at the register had great recommendations & she didn't steer us wrong at all! They aren't afraid to fill a burrito that's for sure. We got the chili rellano burrito with asada, & the quesabirria tacos. They have three salsas. Red, green, & chipotle. All of them were delicious. The ambiance was pretty nice! Their restrooms are super clean and decorated nicely as well. Since I work in the area, this will certainly be my go to stop! & Did I mention they are very reasonably priced!

Yelp
I was so happy to find a West Coast style spot so close to my office! This joint has the best Cali-style burritos I've had in a long time. The burrito is HUGE and will easily feed two people, so my suggestion would be to split a burrito. Next time I'm going to try the tacos, they look incredible. You can either order ahead or wait in line at the counter.

Yelp
This is our go to for birria. It's truly epic. My favorite is the birria quesadilla, DH loves the cali burrito. We also dig the bean and cheese burrito, it's like an elevated (bigger and a million time more delicious) version of Taco Bell's bean and cheese. We get take out probably once a month and they're very consistent. They also have a couple of reserved spots in front for take out orders, very helpful in this parking lot (it's always a $@&!show because of the Pindustry traffic).

Meagan B.

Yelp
Excellent food and convenient location. Owner takes serious pride in his food and it shows! From the tender meats, thoughtful marinades, and crafted presentation- every bite is perfect. Lucky to have this west coast flavor in the heart of Colorado.

Yelp
Authentic food from the west coast! Absolutely great find in Denver. I'm so happy that my friend brought us here, because everything was great. We got a surf and turf burrito, 2 tacos, and a couple other things. All were great! I do wish the salsas were a bit spicier, but that's my preference. Overall great great food! The staff was also very friendly, and there were plenty of open seats to sit. There's also a great patio outside to enjoy your food! Definitely plan to come back to enjoy more food thank you so much! And shout out to Ashlee for telling us about this place!

Yelp
Today, I had the BIGGEST breakfast burrito I've ever seen in my entire life at this burrito place right in the heart of Centennial. And I must write about it. I believe I got to learn about this restaurant in one of the social media sites about a week or so ago. As I placed it in the back of my head to go check it out in the very near future, my memory, all of a sudden, reminded me of it when I was thinking of what to eat for breakfast today. Since my empty stomach was begging me for something decadent, I rushed to this place around 11am. To my surprise, the place was empty. Only a few minutes later I stepped into it, another customer barely came in. The lady who took my order started to cook my burrito on the grill. Since it's an open kitchen. I could see that she was loading the burrito with all kinds of ingredients like chorizo, french fries etc. My anticipation grew as it was being made. And it was a matter of 5-8 minutes at the most before my burrito was ready. When she handed it to me, I realized that the bag was quite heavy. I immediately opened the bag and there it was, my beautiful burrito was about the size of a human calf (well, this might be a bit of an exaggeration.) Goodness gracious, I was about to indulge in this murderous feast. To be frank, due to its having chorizo in it, the entire burrito was a bit too salty to my liking BUT as big as the burrito is/was and it's at the right price point with a generous portion of each ingredient, I would say that this was one of the beat breakfast burrito I ever tried may not be a good enough description of it. I could only eat 1/4 of it. I'll save the rest for tomorrow. I will definitely go back and try other ones. Can't wait. P.S - I shall not forget to mention. This place carries ice cream bars from Chupacabra, a locally run ice cream place. After your meal, you can enjoy a bar or two. And as far as I can remember, there appeared to be close to 15 different types/flavors of them. Update: As the business owner reached out to me with a free burrito offer, I went in a few days ago and claimed it. This business truly cares about the customers. This kind of kind/caring gesture should not be unnoticed so I'm writing about it today. This time, I got me an Asada one. There was a generous amount of meat inside it. And again, it was huge! I'll spread the word about all the goodness this store has to offer. I support!!

Yelp
I'm sad that I didn't take a pic of my crunch wrap; I was too eager to devour it. I'm constantly on the hunt for good Mexican food after moving away from SoCal 5 years ago (Mexican food is the only Ca thing I miss!) Carreras is the place to cure those cravings. I was just looking at the food pics again, and the crunch wrap unbelievably looks even better in person, and tastes like an elevated Taco Bell version. Extremely elevated! The crunch, the sauce, the cheese dusting on the outside. Mind - blown. Someone else on here had already been crowned the crunch wrap queen, but I'll take second billing on that, because I've been making my own crunch wraps for years, and now have something that tops that. I really can't express how delicious they are. My only complaint is that they're too good to try all of the other menu items that look delicious. And they're huge, so I don't know how I'm going to taste everything on this menu. Someone else, one of the only other people that hasn't gushed about this place, complained that they didn't have "orange sauce". I grew up for the most part in SoCal and have never heard of orange sauce. Sooo.... Maybe it's a NorCal thing? I'll take the San Diego - inspired food any day over any Mexican food I've tasted in NorCal. After I downed the crunch wrap in my car (meant to take it home but couldn't wait) I had to run back in to thank the chefs for preparing the best food I can remember. Can't wait to go back. I live about 45 minutes south of this place, and will gladly make the drive.

Yelp
Any excuse to go out for Taco Tuesday is something I can get behind. I met up with a friend at Carrera's for lunch and boy, I am sure happy we got there early. This place gets packed for lunch thanks to the DTC crowd. You walk in, order at the counter then they call out your name or number. They offer both breakfast and lunch tacos and while breakfast tacos are better than lunch (in my professional taco eating experience), I went with the lunch. They have a limited amount of tables and the acoustics make for a loud experience so be prepared to lean in and listen if you're with others. The food came out quickly and I can't believe my carnivore self is going to say this buuuuut the cauliflower taco was my fave! It was a pleasant surprise that it was grilled vs breaded and I was there for it! The flavor was top notch and I wish I ordered three of those alone. My only complaint taco wise was that they were all pretty greasy which made for a limp and wet tortilla, no one likes that.
google avatar

Renee I.

Yelp
Had a good dinner here. Not a lot of seating inside but they also tables out in front. Order at the counter and then they call your name when order is ready gal that took our order was very nice. Had some suggestions for what a 2 yo would like off their menu. We ordered 2 orders of each fish tacos and Chile relleno burrito with carnitas meat. Those burritos were HUGE! Also quite tasty. Fish tacos had more heat to them than I care for so I had to just eat the fish. My daughter said they were much spicier than the last time she had them. They do allow you to modify orders somewhat which is good. When I looked at menu online I didn't see any alcohol however they did have beer in beverage cooler.
google avatar

Robert N.

Yelp
Whenever you see long lines at an established restaurant you know that people are there for a reason. We decided to try Carrera's tacos for lunch and found a line out the door. However that did not result in a long wait as their staff took orders very efficiently. The restaurant itself is pretty small with limited seating and a couple of small patio tables, it is clean and well laid out for its size. The staff are friendly and happy to answer any questions. This is a counter service restaurant. The food was VERY good! They have a wide range of tacos and other Mexican food options like Elote to choose from. The price is fair as well.

Yelp
Stellar West Coast classics from San Diego natives. Birria-dilla with tender meats and a rich consume sauce to go with it. Horchata and forearm sized surf & turf burritos line the menu. Puffy churro bites, creamy elote and mountainous loaded fries.

Tracey S.

Yelp
Oh my goodness! I had given up on finding a Mexican food place here in Colorado. What a wonderful surprise to find Carrera's. The burritos are delicious and substantial. The horchata creamy and just the right amount of sweetness. If you are looking for great food, I highly recommend eating here!

Brandice C.

Yelp
Came here late Tuesday. The margaritas were good. Our favorite was the crunchwrap. The second, street fries. The portions sizes here are worth the money, although I didn't find them to be ridiculously expensive. It was clean and quaint inside. The customer service was great. I'd definitely be back here. Parking is limited as it's right next to pindustry but worth a trip at least once or twice maybe three times

Kaitlin W.

Yelp
Got catering for a graduation party for about 60 people. Josh was extremely helpful via email and online catering was easy without hassle. Food was excellent and the taco bar was exactly what we pictured!

B A.

Yelp
A return visit cemented the outstanding quality and craft of the meal served to me. The folks in the kitchen pay so much attention to detail from overall flavor to texture. This place is worth going out of my way for and that is exactly what I did when I visited recently. The people working here are extremely welcoming and helpful.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I love coming here for take out or to eat there. The staff is always so nice and the food is always amazing. We love all the plants inside makes for a happy and lively ambiance.

Yelp
A good Cali style burrito is seemingly hard to by in Denver, until I found Carrera's. Highly highly recommend their surf and turf burrito. This thing fuggin slaps. If they had a location closer to downtown Denver, I'd be there every week. Even so, still worth the 20ish min drive if ur craving a Cali burrito

Yelp
Stumbled across this gem while staying in Centennial. I'm originally from San Diego and this place hit the spot. I would have never thought I'd see a 2-in-1 burrito anywhere but SD. So that's what I got (wife got the carne asada burrito) and did not disappoint. Burritos were massive in comparison to the ones in SD and was glad to have it, but also frustrated at myself for not being able to finish it LOL! As we currently reside in the Springs, we've found a new reason to frequent the area more often. Definitely recommend!
google avatar

Ivan V.

Yelp
If you are moved from SD and are missing that surfer style food with authentic Mexican taste! I highly recommend it. My wife and I split the surf and turf burrito well worth it! These are the big burritos and not those silly smothered burritos, ugh! I cannot wait to come back and try some more. It is approved by us and we moved from North County SD. Get job Carrera's Taco this place is gem and you must try!

Yelp
What in the...WHAT??!? Do we finally have an option here in Colorado that can stand up and represent all of the flavors that those of us in SoCal are so spoiled to be able to enjoy on a regular basis?? The answer, after much, much searching...is YES!!! I am a Colorado native, but for most of the past 7 years I have lived in Southern California. The food there is unbelievable, especially when it comes to two specific things...birria and California burritos. The best birria can be found in/around the LA area, while the best Cali burritos are in San Diego hands down. What Carrera's has done with both, here in CO, is nothing short of fantastic and a breath of fresh air for those of us that have been longing for those flavors here but have yet to experience, though not out of a lack of effort. For our first visit...and it most certainly will not be the last...we got Cali burritos with steak, a birria queso taco, and a steak taco. I so wish we had been hungrier when we went because we definitely would have ordered more. But what we did get was so very good! The birria meat was so good! Flavorful, tender...everything it should be. The consume wasn't exactly what we are used to from places like Tacos Y Birria La Unica, Teddy's or Pepe's...but it was really good! Highly recommend squeezing that lime directly into it, then add some of the verde salsa & happy dipping! The Cali burritos are some of the best we have had. The only thing that we were missing a little is the "Cali sauce" (chipotle creama-like sauce similar to that at Nico's), that is so commonly served in SoCal with Cali burritos. What we ended up doing was pouring our consume/salsa mixture onto the burrito, and that worked too. So glad that we now have Carerra's as an option to get that taste of Cali right here in CO! Please support this locally owned & operated business that just so happens to have crazy good food! Can't wait to try the ceviche and fish tacos next time...another thing that is easy to take for granted in SoCal and so difficult to find it done right in CO.

Yelp
Hello! Here's another favorite West Coast Mexican restaurant. Order everything off the menu, everything will make you happy and full. Seafood Ceviche - SPICY so beware - 3 per order and very filling - good option to share with other. Very fresh, citrus lime and lemony with the spicy kick. Quesadilla - lovely presentation - amazing balance of cheese and meat. good plus that it's not super oily, great for leftovers. Fish tacos - crispy and crunch with every bite - good balance of greens and fish. Churros - order and you will not regret. freshly fried, warm and fluffy with every bite. Shared parking. Open late! Be patience with the staff, they are crushing it with orders and each order is made with love. Enjoy and add to your must try list.

Yelp
Chef is cute, will come back. Street fries are my favorite. The birria queso tacos are to die for! Churro bites are a must!

Yelp
Fish tacos taste like home! It's safe to say I have opinions about tacos. Street corn was tasty also. Will be back every time I'm craving tacos.

Yelp
Delicious food. The California burrito and quesadilla were both exactly what I wanted!

Yelp
WOW! I am Greenwood Village local and I am so excited to have Carrera's Tacos close by! Firstly you are greeted with smiles and the best customer service by Auni! She is so incredibly kind and has such amazing customer service! It was my first time in, so I had a few questions, and Auni was so patient and kind answering my questions about flavors and menu items. You don't find great customer care like that anymore! Thank you Auni! Now the food THE BEST BURRITO I HAVE HAD IN MY LIFE! The chili relleno burrito was incredible! Also the portion was wonderful for the price! Big enough to share! My son and I were in heaven! We took a bite and felt we were in SOCAL! The flavors in the burrito were delicious! I wish I took a photo of the cheese pull! The restaurant was nice and ambiance had a great energy! Thank you Auni, and Carreras! You have 2 lifers! We enjoyed this food so much! Thank you!

Yelp
It's great to see San Diego represented in Denver area! The Mexican food is much needed here! The Shrimp Taco was so good, and reminded me why I love shrimp tacos. We tried a bit of most things on the menu, and everything was great! The service was wonderful, and the restaurant has a very nice vibe. I like being able to see them cooking right there! Though, the parking area is huge, it can get very packed, but don't be discouraged if you have to park farther away, it's worth the effort!

Yelp
"Stop it right now" the first words out of my mouth when I took a bite. The elotes are sooo good and the vampire tacos.... Ahhh so good. It's a small restaurant and hold maybe 15 people. They are fast and nice. I wish I lived here I would come all the time!! The pictures are terrible because I dug in so fast but 10-10 taste!

Yelp
We first were introduced to the Carreras deliciousness when they had a taco truck and were so happy they were coming back to open a shop. However, it's a bit far from home so it took us too long to get here. As a Californian who's lived all over the country I pretty much never eat Mexican food unless I'm back home because let's just say the disappointment is exhausting... Carreras was the answer to my prayers and the taste of home I was so thankful for. The restaurant is small but has both counter and table seating and you order at the counter. Hubs and I sat at the counter and loved watching them prep everything. We ordered a variety of tacos and the elote! Everything came out quickly and was presented well... here's the breakdown: Pollo 4/5, not as flavorful as the other tacos but still a solid pick Carnitas 4/5 tasty but a bit on the dry side so I dipped it in the Birria sauce Adobada 5/5 was the hubs favorite, great flavor Birria 6/5 so incredible I could not get enough and wanted 10 more Elote 5/5 delicious and a huge portion, it was the best we've had in forever We have yet to try to churros but they are on my list for next time. If you're in need of some mouthwatering tacos... don't sleep on this spot!

Yelp
A must try! I stumbled upon them on Instagram some time last year before they opened their first brick and mortar and I am so happy I did. I live far from the location but happened to be in the area opening week and waited creepily in my car until they opened, so glad I did. I've been addicted since. The food is delicious! I wish they were closer. The service has always been great and quick. The portions are big and definitely worth the price. The space is small, but the decor is unique and beautiful. The street fries are my favorite and remind me of when we would order carne asada fries at fast food places after being out all night, except these are much better!

Yelp
I have nothing but great things to say. Born and raised in San Diego I am so picky about Mexican food in Colorado. What in the green chile in everything? Anyway, Carrera's was absolutely amazing. It was the best burrito I have had in 6 years. Of course I got the California burrito and it was to the T! I can't wait to try more. I loved the store, it was curated beautifully and holds a lot of authenticity in the restaurant. The gentlemen were SO nice, efficient, and sweet. Thank you guys SOOOOO much!!!!

Yelp
We were craving tacos, and had noticed this place when driving past Pindustry. I checked the reviews, and we headed over. It's a small place, with a few tables and counters. The menu isn't huge, which we always take as a good sign. This isn't fast food, either. Everything is made to order. You pay at the counter, and they'll bring your food to your seat. We ordered a quesadilla with chicken, two vampiro tacos, and a fried cheese taco. BF had the holmeca (sp?) drink and I had the cucumber. Both were delicious! The quesadilla was stuffed with at least two cheeses and griddled. There was a ton of ooey gooey cheese, but not a lot of chicken. Cafe Rio is still the champ of chicken quesadillas. The tacos were small (not tiny) and intensely flavorful. There's quite a choice of protein, and there's a cauliflower option, too! We did carne asada for the vampiro and chicken for the fried cheese. The sauces are REALLY good! Service was smiling, cheerful, and friendly. Yummy food and great service, 10/10 recommend. I want to try the fish tacos next time, and the cauliflower, too. They also have French fries, which looked good. We didn't try them this time.

Yelp
I was craving elote so bad and I saw the Yelp photos of the elotes at this place and I had to check it out! It's located next to the popular Pindustry (shares a parking lot). Anyway, I ordered an elote and then a birria taco. The birria taco was SO BOMB! It was juicy and well flavored, a bit spicy but not too much for a chicken like me. The tortilla was fried and partially crunchy it was phenomenal. But. The elote was a big disappointment. I thought I would get it on the cobb, but instead they gave me a Chinese take out box with the corn kernels. That's all fine, corn is corn, but the amount of aoli was SO MUCH IT WAS DISGUSTING. I don't know how anyone can stomach that much Mayo. It was like eating a hot mayonnaise Soup. Just thinking about it makes me want to throw up. I had to toss it, which made me sad because the whole reason I went was for this craving. Get the tacos. Don't get the elote. The end.

Yelp
I was feeling like a yummy breakfast burrito for lunch today and found this place on my Yelp bookmark. Had a little adventure finding this place. Lol It is located on the strip next to Pindustry if you're lost looking for this place. This place is small, but well kept. They have a pretty straight and easy menu. I was greeted by the fliest cashier I have ever met. Lol Cashier was in shades stylin as he took my order. Very friendly and helpful staff. The place is casual. I ordered the breakfast burrito to go, which is composed of chorizo and bacon. This is my first time here and not sure what to expect, just excited to try a new place. When I got back to my desk and took out my burrito, I was like 'what the heck?! This is a massive burrito!!!' I thought chipotle burritos were big. This place makes huge burritos. My burrito came with the red salsa but I also wanted the green chile salsa too since they said it was a little spicier. When I unwrapped my burrito, I was just stunned how huge it was. Lol I don't have a big mouth so I had to bite across the burrito 3 big times every time I ate it. Lol. The potatoes in the burrito are actually French fries. If you are a French fry lover, this burrito is for you. I really liked the flavor of the burrito and I love both of the salsas with it. The only bad is that the burrito is a little dry. I think the French fries makes the burrito a little dry. I feel that the French fries were a little too much in my burrito. I enjoyed the burrito as much as I can use all of the salsa on it, but didn't finish it. This burrito was not for me, but for French fry lovers, this burrito may be for you. Don't let my review deter you from trying this place. Like I said, the flavor of the burrito is delicious. The burrito wasn't for me here.

Yelp
Easily the best burrito in Denver with friendly staff! I often eat the whole thing and get too full from it but it just tastes so good!
