Anchored by Carruth Cellars and Tipping Pint Brewing Co, Hangar 76 Opens in Oceanside - Eater San Diego

"As San Diego’s largest urban winery, Carruth Cellars had outgrown its former winemaking headquarters in Solana Beach, says owner Adam Carruth. Hangar 76 will double the winery’s capacity, enabling Carruth to comfortably supply its other tasting rooms in Little Italy, Carlsbad Village, and Solana Beach and prepare for its next huge endeavor, an 11,000-square-foot wine garden, tasting room, and restaurant in Liberty Station that will feature an expanded menu and include a on-site cheese shop." - Candice Woo

What a rare and gem find, we love this place and go twice a week. Everyone is super friendly, wines are delicious and you can’t beat the membership deal. Looking forward to the new kitchen and space. Special shout out to Brance & Sasha, thanks for getting us hooked!

We’ve been loyal members of Carruth Wine Cellars since they first opened in 2016. We’ve always loved supporting a local winery and stuck with them through the challenges of COVID, continuing to pay our membership even when things were uncertain. We even kept our membership when they reduced the wine benefit from two glasses a day to just two glasses a week — a big change that we accepted because we wanted to continue supporting them. Unfortunately, we’re now canceling our membership due to the recent 30% price increase. What’s most frustrating is that we were never properly notified of this change. They sent the notice to an old email address on file that is no longer active — it likely bounced back. Meanwhile, they failed to send it to the primary email we use and receive all other winery communications through. A change this significant should have been clearly and thoughtfully communicated to loyal members. We understand that costs go up, but this felt abrupt and poorly handled. We’ll miss the wine and the atmosphere, but this change just doesn’t reflect the value or customer care we used to feel as part of the Carruth community.

We just love coming here every week. The staff is amazing and always in for a chat. Having the membership is a good deal! Wines are delicious.

Excellent little urban wine tasting room directly across from the train station in downtown Carlsbad. They buy grapes from around California and then make their own wine at their facility in Oceanside. Super fun vibe for a date night. Bottles are reasonably priced ($30 - $55). We enjoyed a Tempranillo which was nice and drinkable. Not the best I've had but very respectable. There are a few small appetizer options but mostly just wine. There are flights available, glasses, or bottles. The tasting room is in a breezeway with open air so can get chilly. There is indoor and outdoor seating, although the indoor seating has roll up garage doors to allow air in. Cheers!

Such a cute open air winery tasting room, tucked in the breezeway next to the Campfire restaurant. Did a combination White and Reds tasting. The Chardonnay was light and refreshing, while the Red Blend was really bold and distinctive. Great place to meet up with friends after work or before dinner. Our server Alexa was also very friendly and helpful.

This is my second time visiting this bar, both times while waiting for a table at a nearby restaurant for dinner. If you happen to pass by, feel free to come in. It’s not too crowded, so you can enjoy your drink in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere.

Amazing hole in the wall local wine bar. Tonight they had live music from Todd Wees, which was killer. Just a great place to unwind with great people. Dog friendly with awesome snacks! Great service, highly recommended!!

Beautiful wines and environment. The best thing about this place is the local assortment of wines and that you can bring your own food! The tasting servings are small for the price, but the glass prices are more reasonable. The rose of pinot was our favorite!
