I have very rarely felt as non-welcome as tonight. I came here to have a good time, enjoy some nice food, observe the open kitchen and indulge myself. I came here by myself on a business trip and just wanted to have a nice evening.
I was given a seat by myself at a counter facing outside so that I could neither see the kitchen nor the other guests. I asked nicely if I could have a different seat, proposing to add another one at the kitchen counter, and was told that they would have to “throw away the x-mas tree on the counter for that” and that “it would be no problem if I wanted to go elsewhere”. Makes you feel very welcome…
I ordered a starter, which was ok, and their most expensive main course (beef Wellington), which was really not worth it. The quality of the beef was lower than expected.
I was ignored for most of the night and almost had to beg for a second glass of wine. I was not asked a single time if I liked the food or the wine.
Clearly not what I expected based on their reviews and the fact that they are a Michelin Bib Gourmand.
While I’m writing this review, the lady of the house came by to bring me the check and threatened to write a bad review about me too. I asked her what the problem was, in her opinion, and tried to explain my view. Did not help much, I’m afraid…
Overall, a very disappointing night and I can only hope that other people will have a better experience.
