Casa Caña Review - Allston - Boston - The Infatuation

"The best reason to come to Casa Caña, a hotel restaurant that doesn’t really feel like a hotel restaurant in a renovated motel on Soldiers Field Road, is the outdoor space. It has a giant courtyard with tables, couches, and a bar where you can play corn hole underneath a few shade trees. The Latin-influenced food certainly isn't bad, but we don’t find it particularly noteworthy either. Come here with friends, start with a mojito, and enjoy the sun before heading out for the night." - Dan Secatore

Our server was blonde we sat in half table / half booth backs to hosted stand --- she was excellent! I think her name was Megan. The food was fabulous! We got a few small plates on happy hour & the pork belly was out of this world! My husband got the paella and he loved it! Also get the churros! We will be back!

Google
Very cute place. We came on Sunday for lunch. We didn’t do the brunch, it just seemed like more food then we could eat. Ordered the bagel with eggs and chorizo. It was delicious. Spouse ordered bagel with lox ( they forgot the lox) once he pointed this out they took it back and added the lox. He said it tasted very fresh. A little disappointed our waitress never offered to refill our ice tea glasses. Yet I saw some other people were getting refills. The menu looks interesting, we figured we will try their Happy Hour which so many have raved about.

Google
Had a great time there today for happy hour. Walked in at 530 with a party of 6 and was seated immediately. The venue was decorated well, bright and felt modern. The steak was excellent and the chimmicurri tasted fresh with lots of flavor. Great server I believe his name was Steve. I can’t recall. Lol but overall a great experience and I will definitely be back again!

Google
Brunch was amazing! Everything about the place was fabulous. It has an old Miami vibe with colorful murals and gold accents (even the dinning ware was gold). Food was outstanding! The Guava French Toast was to die for. Good drinks and great service!!! I was very impressed!!!

Google
Delicious brunch with freshly made beagels. Great service. We did a la carte for brunch but there is also a buffet. Little disappointed they didn't have more rum cocktails, considering they are called the house of sugar cane. I did order a mojito, which they so kindly made and it was ok.

Google
My wife and I were having wine at Wine Proxy, our favorite wine destination and we were hungry… We decided to walk next-door to this new place. What a pleasant surprise. The food, service, and cocktails were absolutely fantastic. A must try if you are in Tequesta.

Google
What a perfect addition to the Tequesta dining scene!! The food was SO good, loved the vibe, great service. Mojo pork tostados were flavorful, churrasco was cooked beautifully, wood-fired wings were actual fire. Whole family loved our meal. Will absolutely be back!

Google
The vibes are amazing!!! Ambiance, food, and live music. Eclectic interior and great service. We got the empanadas and churros-both great choices. Drinks are really good and flavorful.

Yelp
Food - everything was fantastic. Came here as a group of six and everyone was impressed. This place would thrive in the West Village -- my fairly basic barometer. It was surprisingly well detailed how every dish on the menu was. Don't be afraid to try them all. The flatbread stood out while the lamb chops disappointed subtly. Service - servers were attentive for us no complaints. Ambiance - unpretentious and casual. A place where you want to take your family or close friends after a beach day or the golf course. Would recommend this over 99% of the restaurants on Palm Island

Yelp
First time visit to this restaurant in Tequesta. Arrived around 1:45 pm. Place closes at 3pm. Wife wanted a classic eggs benny well done english, with a cup of tea, Latin home fries included. They had special benny's but no regular ones. I think it upset the apple cart. I over heard waitress tell chef the order because they didn't have it in the computer. I ordered bagel, egg, American cheese sandwich with Latin homefries, cup of coffee. They have a buffet on Sundays. Eggs Benny, potatoes, mussels, sushi, roast pork(carving station) fruit dessert. I thought since no customers were coming in, and they were closing soon, they might want to sell one of the 4 rolls in the buffet. BUT NO, "you have to buy the $29.00 buffet if you want sushi" the waitress said. I took a 2nd look at the buffet well, the benny's were dried up, the pork was out on a plate with no heat, the only thing that looked good was the mussels and the sushi. It wasn't my cup of porridge. My ladies meal was "very good" she said. My coffee was really good but it ends there The sandwich for $14.00 was a plane Jane. To up the game they squirted some spicy mayo on my potatoes not on menu. My wife's had none. My bagel was barely warmed not toasted. On the way out the sushi chef was wrapping up the fish, I wondered what they were going to do with the 4 rolls since they Don't open again till Tuesday at 4Pm. They could have at least sold 1 maybe 2 rolls to me. I am afraid this is a 1 and done for me.

Yelp
Delicious. Great service too! I wanted to check this place out and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend, have the empanadas, half chicken, tuna tirado, and oysters! Fantastic and so filling!

Yelp
After enjoying brunch here previously I could not stop thinking about their espresso martini, so I figured I would swing in for happy hour! The drinks were all so enjoyable and pretty reasonably priced! The lollipop lamb chops were perfectly cooked and pretty good, the yuka mash they tested on was AMAZING, but a little overpriced for the portion. I highly recommend the crispy Brussels flatbread, the perfect amount of each topping!

Yelp
The food was really good. The service was great. My only issue was the ambiance. We had some very rude influencers who were using their lights while we were eating. I too am an influencer and I never interrupt others dining while we eat. Hence the 4 stars

Yelp
Best chicken and waffles I've ever had. A must try!! You may not see it on the menu but just ask and they will make it. Went on a day they were very short staffed but Makayla was sweet and always had a smile. They made up for the chaos by making me a special chicken and waffles.

Yelp
We went there for the Sunday brunch and were not disappointed. Great selection of breakfast items (chicken and waffles/empanadas/bagels and lox/eggs benedict/scrambled eggs/bacon/sausage/grilled pork/dessert: the list goes on. We tried the unlimited bloody Mary's and were pleased to see that you could substitute the BM's for Bellini's and or Mimosas and mix up what you have to drink as you go. Pleasant servers and just a great way to spend a Sunday!

Yelp
Terrible experience and customer service. We had reservations for an early dinner. Arrived only to be told the restaurant was reserved for a private event. We were supposed to be called prior to the day and never did. Another couple walked up and was told their bar next door was open and also serves food, we were NOT given the same courtesy or offered anything for the inconvenience. Don't have to tell me twice that you don't want my money!

Yelp
Drinks...amazing! Brussel sprout and bacon flat bread....WOW! Everything was exceptional, the local artist playing live music was outstanding. Our girl Kayla provided the best service of all time! We love her! The only thing underwhelming visually was the spicy tuna roll, but wow was it good. The ambiance was swanky with a tropical atmosphere. Make sure you check this place out, all the small plates are delicious. Nothing like Hanging out with your friends on a Saturday night...NOTHING LIKE IT!

Yelp
A MUST FOR BRUNCH ON SUNDAYS!!!! i was blown away by the brunch. My bro in law got the buffet amazing offerings including sushi, chix and waffles, smoked salmon, empanadas and more. I split the Denver omelet with a friend and it was perfection! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! The coffee was delish too and served in a beautiful gold press.

Yelp
Ambiance is nice that is why the 2 stars. Food way overprice for taste and presentation. One thing I enjoyed was the empanadas, the rest of food was nothing to be impressed . Party of 6 we had clams, salad and empanadas for appetizer. For main course a had a burger bread was hard and patty was not enjoyable. We probably be back for happy hours just for beer and empanadas. The waiter was very nice
google avatar

Dee M.

Yelp
We went for dinner unexpectedly, loved the ambiance. They had Latin music in the background. A bit noisy to enjoy but was still nice as you don't find this in Stuart. Food was great; we only had the small plates section of the menu. Great flavors.

Yelp
All flash, no substance. The dining room and bar has a nice vibe and the staff is friendly, but the kitchen and staff are unable to execute the interesting menu. Very disappointing overall. Also the sushi fish was not fresh, "fishy", and overall would make supermarket sushi look good by comparison. Disappointing. Pass. Certainly not good value, given the other quality area options.

Yelp
This place had the cutest interior ever! The inside was so fun and just had great picture spots everywhere. We went for happy hour and 1/2 sushi and it was perfect. The sushi was pretty good! Nothing special but for half off we were happy. The edamame was also on the happy hour menu and we got to try that as well. Service was great. Would definitely recommend coming here for happy hour or a cute date night.

Yelp
Very cool spot. Good vibe, had a musician there late night which was good. Nice drinks and good food.

Yelp
We tried Casa Caña for the first time last Friday. We went about 4:15 pm for Happy Hour and we were glad we went when we did. The place filled up really fast. We sat at the bar, and Ethan was our bartender/server. Despite the fact that the bar got very busy, Ethan was very attentive and prompt in his service. The food was wonderful! We tried a few different sushi rolls, and some guacamole and chips - all delicious. We chatted with another couple at the bar and the husband is a private chef. They are regulars, so that's a ringing endorsement in our book. We also really love the ambiance at Casa Caña. The restaurant has a very modern and upscale feel. On top of everything else, the Happy Hour prices are great! That's honestly the first thing we look for when finding new restaurants to try, and Casa Caña scores high in this category. All-in-all, this was a really good find and we're planning to go back soon!

Yelp
Decided to try this place out. They call their rolls Sushi. They don't have any Sushi or Sashimi. Their roll were terrible, fish was old, and made me sick. The fried portobello mushrooms were horrible and tasted like greasy dirt. Atmosphere was trying to be art Deco Miami, but came off as cheesy. Wires hanging out over bar, and cable spider web of wires by tv. Service was slow, and we were at the bar. I'd be surprised if this place makes another year. Don't waste your time, and overpay for some 2 day old gas station sushi.

Yelp
First time here & it did not disappoint. The oysters & mignonette sauce were cold & delicious! And the bartender did an excellent job at keeping our glasses full! Looking forward to returning!

Yelp
We tried Casa Cana several months after they first opened, and there were four of us, and out of the four of us only one dinner was good, and it was the Flank steak. It was a pretty simple dish and easily made it home but it was tasty. We decided that we were not going to go back to this restaurant which is sad because we live really close to it and I so wanted to like it. I decided to give it another chance and a friend and I went there for happy hour and sat at the bar. We ordered three appetizers, Ceviche, guacamole with chips and lamb dumplings. The ceviche is terrible. The guacamole, their version was terrible. I thought the lamb dumplings were okay, although, they were drowned in too much okay. We had to wait for a while to get our drinks. The drinks were very expensive and very small. I looked over the five star reviews and I can't understand how I had such a different experience both times I've been there.

Yelp
I drove up from Margate for a first internet brunch date encounter in Jupiter. Between the time I left Margate and arrived at her house (1 hour), she manages to get into an argument with her neighbor and was arrested for assault. I waiting at JPD parking lot for :45 mins before realizing she wasn't getting out anytime soon. So not to waste the day, I went in search of a buffet brunch. Quite by accident I wound up on Tequesta Drive and found Casa Cana. Outstanding little buffet with the Sunday staples but also chicken and waffles with chili syrup. From walking in until departing the staff was warm and friendly. Absolutely delish. I sat at bar with Megan in command. Really a wonderful experience. I would drive up to Casa Cana again for Sunday brunch, next time hopefully without the criminal element.

Yelp
This place is such a little not-so-hidden gem! We heard great things and checked it out only to find live music (great band!), an incredibly diverse menu and great vibe. We ordered: sushi (can't remember the name but it started with a T and had yellowtail and Sriracha- highly recommend!), beet salad - excellent and tons of candied walnuts and goat cheese, empanadas - phenomenal and the crema was perfect, and charred octopus- incredibly delicious. No room for dessert but their cocktail menu was on point. We tried the white tiger. Only cons were the waitstaff but that may have been because they were new, not enough to take it down a star. Will definitely go back. And for all the people who said it was too loud, it wasn't. It's loud, yes. Know that. But it also isn't impossible to hear your friends. Great vibe!

Christina H.

Yelp
What a great little restaurant!! First time here and immediately after walking in we knew we picked the right place! Food was amazing - very fresh. Service was great and everyone was super friendly. My husband and I moved here from New Orleans - so it goes without saying we are foodies by nature and always looking for the next up and coming eateries. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Enjoyed Happy Hour (yes on a Saturday) & loved the cuisine (Bar Bites) that were fresh & full of flavor. The staff was efficient, friendly & accommodating. Love the decor & vibe! Definitely a secret to share and highly recommend.

Yelp
We came for my friend's birthday and the waitress was so rude. Our pregnant friend got her food 15 minutes later than us. The food was not good, the ceviche was inedible. Then when getting our checks, the waitress rudely said she couldn't split the check then asked for us to give her dollar amount and add it up ourselves. The manager came over afterward and was apologetic but 0/10 experience at this restaurant and I would not recommend.

Taylor H.

Yelp
I never am one to make a bad review but I was so disappointed in the service and food. The atmosphere was really cute which is why I wanted to go there. Our server never check in on us once during the meal to see if we like our food and if we needed any more drinks. Our friend was last to receive her meal and had to remind them to bring it to her 15 mins after the rest of us got our food. We had to get up to ask for our check 30 mins after eating. Our server gave us attitude the whole time. Food was very disappointing and not worth what we paid.

Yelp
Really interesting vibe! Always has live music when I go. Service at the bar is so/so. Sometimes it's great and other times you're waiting a while. Food is always interesting and delicious. Had gratin quinoa once and loved it, sad that it wasn't on the menu the next time I went.

Julie M.

Yelp
Absolutely awful staff. This will be another example of the labor shortage. Have been here several times and just want to like it but bar staff was kind of rude. It was the same night as the Tequesta food trucks so maybe it was not a good time.
google avatar

Shannon T.

Yelp
Great Atmosphere. Fun and good selection of drinks. Nice vibe. Happy to see new place in the hood. But take note - too loud... I would highly suggest turning music down just a bit... thus 4 stars. yelling to talk. Saw a group walk out because it was too loud...
google avatar

Yelp
Vibe is nice, different for tequesta. definitely a new spot in town. The Drinks were great! I have the spicy Marg it was very good, not sweet and fresh. Food was good. Im cuban so impressing me with Cuban/Miami food is hard. I had the Paella could have had more flavor and less salt but it was good. The Corn dish we ordered was yummy. I really enjoyed that. My husband ordered the Short Rib and it was good, but VERY heavy and a VERY large portion. Other Man we were with got the Skirt Steak and he really enjoyed it. For starts we got one of each of the ceviches. They were OK. nothing special but again its not my grandmas cooking.... so it was ok. We all agreed the noise level is WAY to loud. Its hard to converse and hear anything. they need something about it. Next time we'll be sitting outside. I would go back but not inside, till they figure out the noise level.

Yelp
My husband & I visited Casa Caña for the first time yesterday. The food, atmosphere and service was great. Compliments to the chef and owners. We will definitely visit again!

Yelp
This laid back lounge with 50's Miami vibes is perfect for almost any occasion. Think about birthdays, a night with the girls and even a date. They cook everything in their wood-fired oven so expect that delicious smoky taste. If you visit more than once, chances are that you'll find new menu items. They rotate the menu often to keep things exciting.
google avatar

Cristyle E.

Yelp
Awesome addition to the Tequesta scene!! The dinner menu was SO good, loved the vibe, great service. Mojo pork tostados were flavorful, churrasco was cooked beautifully, wood-fired wings were actual fire. Whole family loved our meal. Excited for them to get breakfast back on board because their wood fired bagels are very delish. Will absolutely be back! Need to check out happy hour!

Yelp
Fantastic new place! The vibe is awesome with pink and green velvet seating, murals on the walls, and a beautiful bar area. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable and made us feel welcome the moment we arrived. We started with the empanadas and they are honestly the best ones I have ever had - better than Miami. It's something about the dough that just makes you want more. We also had the esquites and it was perfection. The flavor profile was divine. We made our way through the cocktail menu trying ten different ones between us and each was made with attention to detail and fresh ingredients. I will definitely be back.
google avatar

SlapYo M.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick beer. Civil society fresh on tap. Checked out the new scene. Want to try their sushi happy hour. Will be back. Still not sure if this place goes down to 3 stars or up to 5. It's a little weird. Like a Portland kinda weird vibe. Could turn to a dumpster fire or leave feeling amaaaaaaazing
google avatar

Yelp
Had brunch at Casa Caña this morning. Found the vibe to be eclectic, entrance inviting and had friendly hostess. We both decided to have brunch, although pricey. Eggs were dry, bagels were not fresh and sushi lacking appeal. Empanadas were okay and bacon was flavorful. Beverages not included in the $40 brunch prices. Service was sup par in spite of sitting at the bar. One and done.
google avatar

Kathy M.

Yelp
Great eclectic food . Drinks overpriced Very loud could not even hear the sax player. Bar Service slow

Paige P.

Yelp
Great food & awesome ambiance. Super trendy restaurant with live music (on Fridays, at least). Only thing that brought this rating down a start was the service. Everyone was super friendly, however, our server introduced herself and got us drinks, then went behind the bar never to check on us again. A manager came to clear our table and ask if we needed anything else and we informed him we hadn't been asked to order yet. Unfortunately, we waited for them to run our checks for 20 minutes at the end as well. We ended up walking our checks to the bar. I wish I could say it was super busy at that point but the dining space had cleared up compared to when we walked in. We will be back! Hoping for a little more attentive service next time for a 5 star experience!

Alessandra D.

Yelp
Great ambiance and service. Stephanie and Sheamus are absolutely wonderful and run an incredible business. Recommend this place any day of the week!

Yelp
Been here for dinner twice and now the new brunch. Love this place and the spread they offer. Patience took very good care of the party today

Yelp
I saw ads for Casa Cana on Instagram and had to try all of the delicious looking food. It did not disappoint! The happy hour is so great and affordable. Every dish I got was amazing. The cocktails are also wonderful. The audience is adorable. Perfect for a girls night out. It's always nice to have a new spot to go to up in North Palm Beach County!

SB F.

Yelp
Dined there last night for the first time. LOVED it! Very competent and friendly wait staff. Beautiful decor. Most of all delicious food with a bit of a twist. Prices are very reasonable. I thoroughly enjoyed my Japanese Sour. Cannot wait to return. Maybe for the Sunday brunch which we hear is fabulous. Our vegetarian friend accompanied us and found many offerings to her liking.

Livvie L.

Yelp
This place is so cute on the inside. The sushi was so fresh and good here. The empanadas were delicious as well. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
I arrived early on purpose to check out the bar. Ordered a bees knees drink while i waited. Gin based drink was very good! While i was waiting, i ordered the empanadas. Delicious empanadas, you will enjoy this. Bar was almost full. Good amount of people indoors. Well decorated. Interesting and overall mood felt happy. Once dinner table was ready, we ordered apps. We ordered the shrimp appetizer. Very big jumbo shrimps. Great flavor as was the shrimp flatbread. That was devoured. Next i ordered the tostones with mojo pork with a classic margarita. It was great tasting as well and by that time, i was full! Ate half, took rest home. Other people at my table ordered the miami roll which they said they loved. Others had the steak salad and they ate all theirs as well. Our server was excellent and personable. By the time we left on friday night at around 8:15, place was full and lively with conversation. People were dressed as you would for a nice evening out. Pants, dress, mini skirt etc. Casa cana is a must try, you won't be disappointed. Definitely will be returning!!

Yelp
Excellent place with great service and food. The atmosphere was nice with live music and beautiful finishes. Happy to have a new neighborhood spot!

Mr. P.

Yelp
Food tasty. Music excellent. People watching fun. Drinks came out slower than imaginable. I think we saw a 12 year old bourbon finish it's aging in the time it took to get our first round. And the second round was worse. Fix your bar!
google avatar

Brian B.

Yelp
Really cool spot, great food. Excited to see how the expanded hours do and spend more time there! Cheers to another great addition to Tequesta.
google avatar

Kayla C.

Yelp
Amazing food! Amazing service! The wings are amazing and so are the drinks. One of my favorite restaurants in Jupiter.

Jackie S.

Yelp
I had been wanting to try this place and thought the menu sounded great. Upon arriving we were told we could sit in the bar area at a high top, no one ever came to take our order so we moved to the bar, someone finally acknowledged us after about five minutes. We ordered our food and it came out quickly but it was very disappointing. The crab was imitation and the portions were tiny. There are too many great restaurants, doubt I would go back.

Amanda T.

Yelp
Food was solid and I would say "good" but not great. The space itself and the cocktails were trendy and well done. Problems arose as we were paying the check and wrapping up when we were asked to leave so they could have the table for other guests -less than 5 minutes after paying our hefty bill and tipping well. I have NEVER been asked to leave a table. We weren't being loud and weren't loitering. Very low class in my opinion. There was a waiter or busser who asked very nicely and offered to relocate us to the bar but the manager then as we were grabbing our purses again asked for the table more assertively. They also snatched menus and silverware from our table throughout the meal clearly because they were low on supplies. They have been open long enough to do some better planning and preparation. Not impressed.
