Elegant mansion restaurant, bar, garden, and flower shop

"Set in a mansion from 1927, this might be the most beautifully designed space in the entire city. Last year it reopened under new management and recruited an all-star team to take control of the restaurant and cocktail menu. If there was a show called Ladies Who Lunch, it would totally be filmed here. Expect the crowd to match the neighborhood, which is one of the city's most exclusive upscale barrios. The restaurant menu recently got a makeover when Julieta Caruso, ex-chef of world-renowned Mugaritz in San Sebastián, took over the kitchen. Casa Cavia is open for breakfast, brunch, lunch, merienda (tea time) and dinner, but it's best during the daylight, when you can take advantage of the garden views. Last season's menu was inspired by great works of literature, and this spring honors Argentine music albums, with a unique take on local staples like sweetbreads, beef ribs, lamb, and pasta." - Celeste Moure, Allie Lazar

"The Buenos Aires golden hour is especially lovely in Casa Cavia’s inner garden of the century-old aristocratic estate, where Julieta Caruso crafts seasonal dishes from breakfast to dinner; I enjoy the lounge’s contemporary take on the property’s classic architecture but most relish sitting in the rear garden by the fountain for afternoon tea, choosing treats such as a lemon curd tart with quince and sugared almonds, puff pastry filled with cream and caramelized apples, or the creamy vanilla cake with rich chocolate mousse and caramel." - Guía MICHELIN

"If we were to look for an expression that defines the culinary philosophy of this restaurant occupying an attractive mansion in the Palermo Chico district, it would be “loyalty to local ingredients”. Casa Cavia boasts an elegantly classic interior which combines with the contemporary decor, but what is particularly striking here is the delightful terrace to the rear (embellished with a water feature in the middle) that has become a trendy setting where people come to eat but also to be seen. The chef at the helm, Julieta Caruso, showcases her cuisine on a concise contemporary-style à la carte where vegetables play a predominant role in dishes that are seemingly simply prepared but based around the very best ingredients. Her vegetarian recipes, which take pride of place here, are accompanied by others featuring fish and meat, such as grilled fish of the day, roasted prawns, marinated beef ribs etc." - Michelin Inspector

"Located opposite a tree-lined park, stands this old two-storey property with an immaculate white façade. Casa Cavia, one of the city’s most beautiful dining spots." - The MICHELIN Guide

"A historic mansion with a restaurant, bar, café, florist, and publishing house, offering cuisine by chef Julieta Caruso." - The MICHELIN Guide
