If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. We came here for my 18th birthday dinner since I wanted a relaxing but artistic restaurant with either Mexican or Asian cuisine, and Casa Chi was the PERFECT place. The guacamole was phenomenal, the Yuzu desert was light and delicious, the hot plates were wonderful, but above all the chef and waitress were able to make me a lychee tea in a beautiful teapot that was to die for. Our waitress, Elaina, was absolutely wonderful and so sweet. If I’m in Chicago again, I will be coming back in a heartbeat.

Wow! What an awesome experience and our waiter was great! Loved the atmosphere and we went during “happy hour” (4-7PM weekdays I believe) and got 3-4 things on their happy hour menu and split them along with drinks at a decent price ($12). Was a great evening out!

A great fusion restaurant! The service and food are great as well. You should love it if you enjoy Peru, Japanese, and Mexican food. Enjoyed the sushi, tacos, and stone tenderloin.

This is my absolute favorite spot in town! If you haven’t visited yet please treat yourself. The drinks are not only so yummy but also worth the price with the fire and bubbles and other cool features. Not to mention the food is fire!!! This is the kind of restaurant little girls dream of going to with their girl friends and having cocktails and sushi. Honorable mention to our waitress, Adiam! She was so kind and made sure we never needed for anything. She helped to guide us through the menu, which was helpful with some family members we had in town who weren’t as familiar with sushi. Can’t wait to come back for the Boozy Tea on Sunday! Seems like a great deal for even more foood!

Aaron was extremely helpful and attentive. His suggestions helped me to have a wonderful, first-time experience. I thoroughly enjoyed the margarita mercadito. Additionally, the California roll was the best I ever had with the spin of adding lobster! Everything was fresh and served with a smile. I also HIGHLY recommend the yuzu dessert. You’ll never look back!!!

Amazing food, great service and a fun atmosphere! The ceviche was delicious, the lobster tacos were fire 🤤 and we loved the beef Tiredito (sp?) as well as the swordfish dip! We also had the Japanese pisco and a margarita- both were well balanced and smooth! Perfect dinner!

We stayed at the Intercontinental CHI, and had an opportunity to try the Sunday afternoon 3-Course Boozy Brunch Peruvian-Japanese fusion offerings. Wow! From the moment we walked into this beautifully decorated restaurant, til the time we left feeling full and good, our Casa CHI experience was grand! Adiam was our knowledgeable and attentive server. She guided us through the menu, and offered good recommendations based on our preferences. Craft cocktails were delicious. My companion raved about the CHI Old Fashion. I enjoyed the Boozy hibiscus tea with my meal. The Lobster Tacos were a standout! The Aburi Salmon was excellent as an addition to the prix fix menu options i ordered. I highly recommend trying Casa Chi. Note: 18% tip is automatically applied to the bill.

This might be my new favorite place to frequent! Casa Chi is located in the Intercontinental Hotel to the left when you walk inside the entrance, directly across from the Michael Jordan Steakhouse. Staff and vibe is very dope! Kaylee, Brian, Tron and rest of the team are amazing and just a joy to chat with about everything on the menu and just regular chat. They have a nice Margarita Happy Hour from 3-5pm which is really good...cocktails and certain bites are $12 daily. I had some margaritas made with Michael Jordan's Cincoro tequila on my bday and they were amazing! Passion fruit margarita is Mezcal Gibson is a great drink as its like a mezcal martini. Lobster Wonton Tacos are off the chain! Flavor is very much on point! The Smoked Swordfish Dip is on fire...never knew something like this existed and I am glad it does. The dip comes along with plantain chips...yum! Definitely get it! Angry Tuna Maki Rolls are something special as well. Tuna guac wonton tacos are really good as well. Love this place and is now a regular!!!

Casa Chi is an unassuming gem tucked in a corner on bustling Michigan Ave. It's small, but bursting with personality in the food and cocktails . The lobster wonton tacos and angry tuna sushi were delicious, along with the swordfish dip. Trust me, it's good ! Cocktails were innovative and the service was top notch

Caught a HH here on a Tuesday. Ambience was smooth. I had the margarita and wontons. They were both good! Friend had some kind of Roll, which he loved

10/10! The waitstaff was very sweet and attentive. We were confused at first because it was co-located with a hotel, so we weren't positive we'd be welcomed, but then they definitely noticed our confusion and explained how anyone can come into the restaurant to enjoy their food. The steak fajitas were great, the kale salad was delicious, and the dessert (forgot the name!) was sweet enough but not too sugary. Ambiance was real chill, with low-toned music playing in the overhead speakers. 10/10 would go again when in the area.

My friend and I stopped into Casa Chi for a quick bite since it's conveniently attached to the hotel where we were staying at. We ended up having a relatively enjoyable experience. We ordered the California roll and lobster wontons, both were fresh, flavorful, and came out quickly. For drinks, I had a mocktail version of the Pisco-Ncello, and it was excellent. The bartender was super knowledgeable and took the time to walk us through the menu, offering recommendations and making sure we found something we'd enjoy. The vibe was welcoming, the staff was kind and attentive, and service was prompt. It's a solid spot if you're looking for a low-key but quality meal and drink near the Magnificent Mile.

I had the tuna poke bowl. My first ever and it was delicious. We also had the hot stone which was good but a bit pricey for what you got. Cook your own fajitas basically My drink a Hugo Spritz was refreshing but my boyfriend had to choke down their special version of an old fashioned if I remember correctly.

I have to agree with some of the reviews - the music is oppressively loud. It just needs to go down a few decibels to make the experience fully enjoyable. Now, the good - the food. I was looking for a snack and my visit coincicided with happy hour. I ordered the tuna and swordfish tacos. My favorite was the tuna variety - it was fresh, citricy, and the shell crispy. It was almost like ceviche. Loved it. The swordfish looked like chicken salad on a bed of rice in the small shell. Swordfish has a more fish taste, so be ready for that. The tacos are bite size, good for a snack. I sat at the bar. Service was provided by the bartender. He was polite, and friendly. He was training 2 other workers on some of their specialty drinks. Order the Japanese pisco! That was deliscious.

This place is still fantastic and the food is savory and delicious. The guacamole is presented very nicely and extremely tasty. The lobster tacos are probably the best item on the menu. The thin steak slivers on the hot rock comes with two options. According to the server, the tortilla with veggies option is the most popular. I preferred the other option, which is dipping sauces and no tortillas. But that's obviously personal preference. This is a great restaurant inside the Intercontinental hotel and is open late . It's pricey, but well worth it for discerning palates

Walk-ins only and I am SO happy I did! Even if you aren't staying at the IC, this is a must do! It is so cute and intimate. The food and drinks are amazing with over the top service. I sat at the bar as a solo traveler and Kaylee could not have been nicer. I travel almost weekly all over the world and I can easily say she's the best I have had in years. She was so kind and even though I ordered the table side fajitas, she made sure there was enough room at the bar for that experience and even offered to reheat the stone since I'm the slowest eater. The stone was plenty hot and I didn't need that but to have her remember or even check was so thoughtful. She was being inundated by another guest at the bar but juggled everything with ease. There were a few times I would have lost my patience with a guest on his 20th question but she did everything with a smile and even though it was near the end of the night she was still super nice and helpful to everyone. The food (lobster tacos and skirt steak fajitas) were delicious and I definitely recommend both! I was worried it would be too much food but I hadn't eaten all day and the tacos are small by delectable. I could not recommend this entire experience, especially if you are lucky enough to have Kaylee.

We stopped by for Boozy Tea! This is the Margarita Cocktail, served in a teapot for sharing with the table. The meal started with an appetizer of guacamole & smoked swordfish dip, then two different sushi rolls, steak tacos (you cook the steak at your table), followed by a Yuzu dessert. The dessert was incredible! You have to break into a hard shell Yuzu to get to the cheesecake filling. Overall very impressed! We also were lucky enough to be there to meet Chef Richard Sandoval while he was in town. We will be back for bunch and cocktails!

Food, service (Aaron) and ambiance was absolutely delicious and amazing!! Had the beef tiradito as a starter and we ended up ordering two of the because it was just that amazing. Not only did we love the vibe of the restaurant but thanks to our fantastic server Aaron-- he heightened and leveled up the experience. Very thorough and explained the menu really clearly. We were enjoying everything so much that we skipped a comedy show to enjoy the food and drinks. Apologies for not taking enough pics, just too busy indulging in the food. It's a newer restaurant but highly recommend! Dessert also was delish. Had to stop myself from ordering two yuzu cheesecakes. Order the beef tiradito if you're into carpaccio or tartare. Def stop by and ask for Aaron. I think he's definitely one of the best servers I've ever had in my life.

This is an upscale lounge in the lobby of Chicago's iconic Intercontinental Hotel with fantastic appetizers with enough variety to turn into a full dinner, every dish came out beautifully plated and prepared to perfection! Fusion of two rich in flavors cuisines done fabulously! We had truffled hamachi, salmon, oyster mushroom roll, salmon, wagu steak and those were fresh and unique, but their lobster wonton tacos just stole everyone's heart! They were out of this world! Their lemon dessert is worthy of a Michelin star! Cocktails deserve a separate description! They were outstanding, everyone is different with their unique personalities and gorgeous presentation! Sake cocktail which they set on fire in front of you was elegant and complex , it made a perfect pairing to all of their dishes! Their manager Brian is a knowledgeable, gentleman who made our group feel special. He was so kind, accommodating and friendly that my entire group of 5 women who came for our reunion truly loved the experience and wanted to come back! I took off one star because I felt their "Chipotle" style decor and bright lighting which were absolutely unfitting of the fabulous food, elegant cocktails and top notch service. The lounge is decorated and furnished like a fast food chain restaurant. Its bright lighting illuminates this place like a high school gym. Unfortunately this decor messes with the atmosphere and affects your first impression. It might scare off the hotel guests who might never try how amazing this place is!

The service (Aaron) and food was amazing. I loved the pork belly tacos and guacamole with a twist with the chips. Pleasantly tasty! The ambiance was calm and perfect for the experience.

I went here for a weekday dinner with a group, and the restaurant was pretty empty, but the staff from the manager to bartenders were all nice, warm, and welcoming. Casa Chi is a small Japanese Peruvian fusion restaurant with a cocktail bar vibe. The drink menu is more extensive than the food. Everything is on the lighter side, so don't come here expecting to fill up-- very cute for happy hour or a night cap. Our server was so nice to walk us through the menu: they offer a hot stone to cook scallop, wagyu, short rib and tenderloin. It's priced per ounce, with a 4 oz minimum to order, but you can't mix and match the meats to meet the minimum. The Nikkei menu is the fusion. We started off with both dips. I was hesitant about the smoked swordfish dip, but it was the dish I liked the most along with their house-made chips! The chips were a variety of plantain chips, blue corn tortilla, and 2 other variations. We also tried the tuna ponzu guacamole. The tuna was fresh and did not take away from the guacamole. For "mains" we ordered the Acevichado Roll, hamachi tirado, and ceviche rojo which is a shrimp ceviche. Everything was flavorful and tasty. Everything was passed among the group, so we all got to taste everything as it is served tapas style. Would love to come back for happy hour for the smoked swordfish dip alone, as well as the lobster tacos.

We did a brunch on a sunday. they give you food for 2 plus delicious cocktails for less than $70. There was a live DJ. The level of the music was a little elevated but we could still have a conversation. Food was full of flavor and creative. Drink was well balanced with the Mezcal clearly present. for my taste the decor was a bit too pedestrian - cold looking but of course your milage may vary.

Would love to say we ate here, but when we tried to get a table, we were told it was closed. It was 10:50 pm on Saturday night after our plane got in 2 hours late. Looked up places to eat that are open late...this popped up and is open till midnight. When we walked in (2 adults/2 kids), we were told they were closed, even though others were eating. On their website, they say they are open till midnight. Might want to update. On a positive, we went to Quartino Ristorante after and while they were really seating only in the bar area, reopened the main dining room for us to join the other diners. Great food and could read the situation....something Casa Chi could not..,

Food was really good just very small portions be prepared - the lobster wonton tacos are amazing but here's a photo comparing the size next to a fork - I would say it is suitable for one person as an appetizer- the sushi was great eight pieces average sizes compared to other sushi. Restaurants Price is a little bit higher than a normal sushi restaurant. - nice atmosphere

April 2025, they are open on Sunday at Noon for brunch (12pm-4pm). The DJ played early 90s pop and hip hop music , brunch menu and the cocktails were perfect. We had a wonderful unique dining experience and the service was amazing.

Nice restaurant with great vibes and ambiance on Michigan Ave! My boyfriend and I got some drinks and split the guacamole to start. The tuna guac itself was quite good, but I thought some of the chips tasted a bit stale. The lobster tacos were some of our favs of the night. Very small bites, but it was perfectly crispy. We ordered the Wagyu ribeye which was a fun experience. The wagyu was great quality and I loved the truffle sauce, which was an extra few dollars. The cheesecake we got at the end was shaped like a lemon and was very good! All in all, a fine experience. The waiter was very nice and recommended a lot of food for us. He was obviously extremely knowledgeable of the menu. It was quite pricey, but its a cool and different experience if you are looking for a fun night out downtown!

Great Asian-Mexican fusion! Delicious Mexican salad and Sushi Roll. Service could have been better organized; however, it was 9 pm on a Thursday night.

my boyfriend and I were staying at the Intercontinental connected to this business and we just needed a quick bite before we got ready to go eat dinner. The employees of this establishment were super professional and so kind. They really took their time to make sure we were ordering what we actually like to eat. The employees were super friendly and made it feel like we were just chatting with friends. I really appreciate when an establishment makes you feel like you're their friend and not just a customer because a friendship level makes the experience a lot better and more comfortable to be around, when I am back in Chicago, my boyfriend and I will definitely be coming back to visit this establishment because their professionalism and kindness may go along. If I remember correctly, we ordered the lobster tacos and they were phenomenal.

Stopped in for a mid-afternoon bite and drink and would def recommend. Smoked swordfish dip was delicious the and salmon roll (Aburi Salmon) was as delicious as it was beautiful. Drinks, various Margaritas (we had the marg flight and a recommended full marg) would have been perfect but they were too sweet (and light pours)... Would definitely return for dinner.

OKAY HEAR ME OUT- this place is fantastic when it comes to food and drinks. Howeverrrrrrr the music is so loud that conversation is hard to keep, my parents could not hear us even though we were sitting less than two feet from them. On the second time we were here we asked them to slightly turn it down but of course no luck. My Iwatch was warning me that it's above the noise level, rough. Margaritas amazing! Service Amazing! Food amazing - especially the sword fish dip! Noise - ughhhhhhhh

We didn't really enjoy our drinks. The service by the bartender was great, but the cocktails just weren't balanced. My bf ordered his usual Negroni which he didn't like, and I had a Smokey mezcal old fashioned which was a little too smoky and unbalanced. 5 stars for the bar tender's service but 3 stars for what we paid for it.

We booked the Valentines dinner at Casa because it's close to my apartment and I've walked by many times! The set Valentine's Day dinner was a good way to try out many different plates but by no means did it fill us up! At $130 a couple and added 18% tip I definitely would not come back for Valentines dinner again!! The starter drink was basically a Luke warm smoothie....ugh and Tiny!! We got 2 small rolls (4 pieces total of Sushi per person ) and 2 small dips, which included a small guac and swordfish dip. The swordfish dip was the highlight of the dinner!!! For the main course, you could share one for the table ( fajita style) we got the shrimp which consisted of about 12 small shrimps total total and you cooked yourself on a hot stone at your table. It also came with a tiny side of pico de gallo and guacamole, and about six street food size cold flour tortillas !! I think that's the part that disappointed me most of the tortillas were that they were cold!!! Come on guys!!!! They finish it out with one shared dessert, which is some sort of a lemon cheesecake for two which is very small but tasty and refreshing. It was Valentine's Day, so I won't judge the service which was pretty decent considering how packed they were!! It was very loud and Very smoky in there... While I'm glad we tried this out but I won't be back unless it's some sort of happy hour where I get the swordfish dip and maybe a drink. Way overpriced and not worth the price we paid... Then again it seems to be a Valentine's norm ( sigh)

Currently staying at Intercontinental Chicago which has an entrance to Casa Chi. My husband and I arrived a few minutes before 10pm for some drinks and was greeted by the rudest staff member/host. We politely asked for a table for two and she stared at us and said we did last call already. I said oh okay and then she snatched up the little table lights and flicked them off in front of us. The restaurant hours mentions they close at 11pm and there's no note anywhere that mentions when last call is. I have also never heard of a last call an hour before closing. I've heard of final seating an hour before but not last call. Either way we arrived more than an hour before closing. We were excited to try this place but after our encounter we're definitely going elsewhere

While our dining experience was not perfect, the staff's recognition of it and efforts to correct their mistakes makes up for it, as well as making us open to going back. The food here is solid - the tuna Nikkei tiradito was delicious and flavorful. I loved the daikon and carrot salad that was paired with the tuna. For the tuna ponzu guacamole - I don't know why other restaurants haven't paired tuna or other raw fish was guacamole before - it's absolute genius - more places need to do that! While the tuna ponzu guacamole mixture itself was already heavenly, it was thoughtfully paired with a mix of plantain chips, taro chips and corn chips (my personal fave are the plantain chips but no complaints about the taro chips here). I started with the Japanese pisco, which was a great cocktail to start with - passion fruit flavor rang loud with that one. Don't sleep on the sake cocktails - the sake-uvignon was a fun one and my fave that I had. At first glance, you could mistake it for just a showy cocktail but I loved the flavors - more complex than what meets the eye. Ended with the sakura maru - it wasn't for me, but for those who want something Instagrammable (or for TikTok) it's a good option - it was bit more tiki-like than I was expecting - the glassware tipped me off after the fact. Food and drinks were slow to come out, but I also recognize that sometimes that happens, especially these last few years. Also it gave me more time to enjoy the company I had. :) overall it's a good addition to the area - worth a stop while shopping or running errands on Mag Mile.

There is an axiom in restaurant talk - "Hotel Restaurants usually have pretty good food, with pretty good service and pretty good ambiance - but at least it's going to be expensive". Well, Casa Chi at the Inter Continental Hotel on Michigan Ave was way better than "pretty good" food, service and ambiance, and way more expensive than expected. So, basically Casa Chi slaughtered that (above) axiom. The food was actually magnificent: * Our Tuna Ponzu Guacamole was out on this world. They used serrano, chipotle aioli, salsa macha, ponzu, housemade chips; we devoured this dish * The Cheviche Rojo had hamachi, shrimp, rocoto aguachile, orange, mango, serrano, red onion - completely delicious * The Acevichado Roll was made up of scallop tiradito, leche de tigre, togarashi aioli, cooked shrimp, kabayaki - Winner Winner Winner!!!! * One gin martini, one vodka martini and a beautiful Del Maguey Vida mescal cocktail put us right where we wanted to be. Then the bill came - Ouch Three cocktails with (basically) three appetizers came to a whopping total of $176.00 - all I could say was "What The F#@%"? I've had full dinners and drinks for four people less than this whack. Mind you, the food was wonderful, the service was exceptional and the ambiance was terrific, but a "Break The Bank" tab? I wasn't expecting this sweeping sum. I added the bill up three times and it was what it was. Now I'm no prude and I rarely get sticker shock, but this rocked me. Will I ever go back to Casa Chi- a resounding YES! The caveat will be, "at Happy Hour ONLY!!!!!"

Casa Chi gave us the perfect Valentine's Day experience. The special couples Valentine's Day menu was perfect and gave us a great selection of Peruvian cuisine. The guitar player was a nice touch for the evening as well. Another standout of the evening was the superb service, particularly from the bartender, Eric. From the beginning, Eric was attentive and genuinely friendly, making us feel like VIPs. His cocktail recommendations were spot-on, and the creativity in each drink was beautiful. The Valentine's special cocktail he created that caught on fire and revealed a rose was an absolute delight, and his enthusiasm and passion for mixology were evident in every sip. All of the managers that stopped by our table were attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. We can't wait to return!

Tron was an exceptional bartender, the food was amazing. I would highly recommend the swordfish dip because I will definitely be back for more. If you're looking for a cute spot with creative cocktails and super friendly staff this is definitely the spot to go.

TL:DR This is bar, don't order food, automatic 18% service fee Some of the food items are great. The food menu descriptions are poor. The waiters service lacked engagement and awareness. Hit with an automatic 18% service fee that is not mentioned on the menu. We were a table of 4 in the corner table directly opposite the bar. There must have been a three to one staff ratio to patrons at 6 pm on a Saturday. The music was too loud to talk over and made it hard to hear the waiter. The Good: the 2 sharable items were great. The smoked swordfish dip was excellent and would order again. The mix or taro, plantain, and corn chips were great. The Bad: it starts with the menu as the food items are all contained to the back of the menu on one page. The descriptions are very poor and so were the waiters. And that is what really set the compounding issues with this establishment. The waiters underwhelming experience and attention to detail. Like trying to take a plate that wasn't finished but then leaving a plate that clearly was. Another example is never really taking our order, we just kind of had to lob items at him as we had his attention. There are more examples but it just boils down to awkward service. The other two dishes we ordered were just ok. I like trying new things but this is just a bar.

I stopped at Casa Chi while on a business trip. The Nikkei cousine definitely impressed my for the bold and balanced flavor. Service was friendly at attentive. Great vibe and amazing sound tracks. Small plates, tapas style. You came here to experiment bold flavors and get great drinks, not for a full meal :) I am definitely impressed! I ordered the smoked swordfish dip and the Hamachi Toradito

I had a fantastic birthday dinner here this past Saturday. First off the restaurant is beautiful. Our server Sunny (sp) was fantastic and suggested to me a delicious mezcal neat (how I prepare my liquor). For dinner we basically tried the whole menu. Some favorites are the ceviche, sashimi, and Waygu beef. Great place to celebrate!

Food was absolutely delicious and the restaurant is very cute. The music was way too loud for the space but they graciously turned down the volume for us upon request. The food had interesting flavors and variety. The prices are very steep given the smaller portion sizes. I hope to return but also hope they add more tapas style dishes that are less expensive. Great location and food.

Fancified mediocre food. Avoid. Not where you want to spend money in Chicago unless desperate. Ceviche was bland. You had to pay extra for plantain chips. Patio is nice and the ambiance is lovely.

This cozy understated restaurant has become one of my favorite places to frequent after a long day at work. The guacamole and swordfish dip are outstanding. The staff is amazing! Tron the bartender is kind and so welcoming that you always feel right at home. Halyna is helpful and her smile always disarms me she's so sweet. Brian the manager has that cool Chicago vibe and professionalism that elevates this place to the next level. Go for the food and their large assortment of tequilas. You wont regret it!

After an afternoon at the Navy Pier, we were walking back to our hotel and discussing what we were going to have for dinner. We passed Casa Chi and looked at all the different dishes the patio patrons were having.....we were intrigued! So we decided to step inside and check out the menu, and I'm so glad we did! We sat at the bar and Andra, the mixologist (she was far beyond a "bartender"), was outstanding and gave us amazing recommendations on drinks, food and her service was top-notch!
