LA’s New Restaurant Openings - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"This Spanish restaurant from NYC is now open inside the Century City mall with a space that looks like a resort lobby. Expect fancy-sounding tapas like ham croquetas and octopus carpaccio, plus three types of paella. They’re also running a $39 lunch prix fixe, which includes dishes like avocado and bluefin tartare or chorizo and aji empanadas. Oh, and right next door is a shiny new Katsuya from the same restaurant group." - cathy park

Inside the Highly Anticipated Casa Dani, Now Open in Century City | Eater LA

"Opened by Spain’s celebrated chef Dani Garcia inside Westfield Century City on July 25, 2025, this highly anticipated restaurant delivers polished, upscale takes on traditional Spanish cuisine: ultra-thin paella topped with roasted Cornish game hen, paper-thin Andalusian tuna carpaccio doused with fruity olive oil, and a cheese-laden wagyu beef burger destined for social media. All-day service includes a $39 three-course lunch prix fixe aimed at office workers and locals (with about half the options carrying additional charges), offering choices like avocado and bluefin tartare, paccheri alla vodka, chorizo and aji empanadas, grilled sea bass, and desserts such as roasted pineapple with passionfruit yogurt or caramelized rice pudding; there’s also a flexible a la carte menu with iberico ham sandwiches on tomato bread and half-sized vegetable or seafood paellas. Dinner shifts to luxe ingredients, with tuna prepared four ways (including the famed porterhouse tuna carpaccio, tuna croquettes, and a duo of tartares with pickled vegetable relish), larger paellas meant to feed two, and a 32-ounce bone-in Australian wagyu rib-eye with two sides to conjure a Basque-style beef experience. The offerings balance an LA-centric appetite for raw fish and locally sourced vegetables with some Italian pastas and steakhouse-style grilled mains, while desserts expand to burnt Basque cheesecake, yuzu flan, chocolate mousse with vanilla chantilly, and the signature Frescor Andalusí with orange blossom ice cream, pistachio cake, and jasmine—versatile and easy with the polish one expects from a chef with multiple Michelin-starred restaurants. Drinks skew modern Spanish, from a grapefruit-tinted gin and tonic to an olive oil-laden martini with thyme and peppercorns, supported by wines from California, Spain, and France plus a solid set of sherry and port. The room mirrors the New York original’s modern European vibe with natural tones and leafy greens, recalling posh neighborhoods of Mexico City; green ceramic cups contrast with camel leather chairs, and an open kitchen fronted by chilled shellfish, branzino, and snapper underscores the seafood strengths. It should draw tourists and Westside residents seeking buttoned-up Spanish fare in familiar mall confines, and it’s open daily from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., then 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., with reservations available on Resy." - Matthew Kang

As a longtime customer at Westfield Century City and a lover of paella, I was super-excited for the opening of Casa Dani. It occupies the old Gulfstream spot in the front of the mall, though the ambiance is now much cozier and more intimate. Love the open kitchen and abundance of partial booth seating. The artificial olive tree, under which they ladle olives from large jars, stands impressively in the center of the restaurant. Creates quite a romantic setting at night. As of this writing, we’ve been here four times and have must-have orders such as the Tuna Porterhouse Carpaccio (comes with a bit of a show) and the Iberico ham croquettes. Our fave paella, the game hen, has been rotated off the menu, but the 16 oz. Australian wagyu ribeye is also superb! If you think you’ve had great paella, try this one. The rich stock the rice is cooked in is worth the experience alone! The service here is also top-notch. Personable yet professional. The kitchen staff are also very knowledgeable and accommodating of food allergies. Our server double- and triple-checked all the ingredients to make sure nothing was missed! And while we were there a couple of nights ago, the server who helped us during our first visit recognized us and came over to chat! In all, if you’re looking for a place that’ll impress, I say give this place a shot. It’s fine-dining without the stuffiness.

Decided to stop by Casa Dani after the movies and wow, what an incredible experience! We ordered quite a few dishes and every single one was 5/5 - absolutely flawless. Our waitress Cristianne was amazing, attentive, and genuinely friendly, which made the whole evening even better. Can’t wait to come back and work our way through more of the menu. Highly recommend!

Took my adult daughters for a celebratory dinner and was truly impressed. The hostesses were so welcoming, the wait staff were so attentive and pleasant and the food was perfectly presented and tasty! The octopus was one of the best I’ve had, I highly recommend the croquettes and if you like seafood the table side paella is a must.

Casa Dani 🖤✨ what a night. Four courses, cocktails, wine by the glass, and not a single miss. The vibe? Calm, cozy, and effortlessly cool, with music that made you want to stay a little longer. Also, the cocktails were so unique and understated. We had at least two each. Phew. The amuse-bouche alone set the tone: a peeled golden tomato with cured fish in a delicate sauce. Simple, thoughtful, and so good. The food overall was Spanish Mediterranean fusion done gently and beautifully. A meal here is not just something you eat, but something you experience. And the dessert?! My favorite surprise of the night: a Basque cheesecake made from Florette (goat Brie). Unexpected. Creamy. Still thinking about it. Huge shoutout to Eugenio, whose service was next-level. Warm, passionate, and genuinely kind…the kind of hospitality that fills your heart as much as your stomach. Come for the food. Stay for the feeling. ✨🍷

A wonderful experience at Casa Dani. I already knew the chef for his three Michelin stars at his restaurant in Marbella, and I absolutely wanted to try it. The dishes were truly exceptional, with the freshest and most delicious food, and the staff were very kind and friendly. Congratulations also to the management, especially to the manager Stefano, who served and welcomed us, and made us feel at home.

We recently tried the Seafood Paella and was impressed w- the quality - The seafood was incredibly fresh, which made for a delicious dish.. The flavors were eXcellent However , for the price point, I would like to see a more generous portion of shellfish , I really wish they were more mussels and prawns 🦐 the rice to seafood ratio felt a bit off fir what we paid, Overall , I enjoyed the freshness and taste, but hope the portioning of the premium ingredients is adjusted in future .. and thnX mch for the yummy birthday Treat.. 😊😊

After a disappointing experience when they first opened, I posted an honest, but of course negative review of the restaurant, never expecting that they would fix any of this. After some friends had positive experiences more recently, I decided to go back with another group last night to give it another shot. the restaurant managed to take the feedback from comments and has fixed basically everything that was wrong with the restaurant. The location remains beautiful. They have placed a small lamp at each table that allows you to actually see your menu and the food. They reduced the volume of the music to a reasonable level and now you can enjoy your party and hear the person next to you or even across the table without having to scream. This has made it dramatically nicer. The wait staff and managers are exceptionally attentive now going table to table. Props to manager Stefano who’s the best in the business. The drinks and appetizers were magnificent. We tried numerous different cocktails, one of which was like an old-fashioned, all of which were superb and appropriately sized. They were spot on! Moving onto appetizers, we had the avocado and basically anything that had tuna in it. From the carpaccio that comes on a gigantic plate to both tartares. All were fantastic and decently sized! The Duo Tartare was to die for. It’s not cheap but it’s large and has exceptionally high quality expensive cuts of tuna in it. Presentation is gorgeous as well. The tomato tartare was the surprise hit of the dinner. Delicious with a slight kick. The babaganoush was beautiful, tasty and well portioned. Caesar salad was enough for 4 of us to each have a decent and delicious portion. So many apps came with their bread, which was toasted on a grill and perfectly accompanied the food. We did not order the paella this time as we had had it last time. However, looking at other tables, it appears that the paella is now significantly more substantive in amount, and contains a lot more meat or fish on it than it did when we were there last. They also created a half portion of paella, which is enough for two people, rather than forcing you to buy a massive one that could serve four. As for sides, the farmers market vegetables were very good and the creamy potato purée was out of this world. I could easily have ordered another one. We are not big meat eaters so we went for two of the fish. We ordered the catch of the day times two. And unlike a few weeks ago when it was just a single option, they now have four different fish options, which you can see sitting on ice as you walk into the restaurant on your right hand side. We are regulars at Avra and love fresh Mediterranean fish. And what we had was nothing less than a work of arch. Perfectly salted, perfectly flavored, came with grilled lemon slices unlike last time, and the fish were each massive. Each order was literally enough for all four of us so we ended up having to take much of the second fish home. Nonetheless, having tried both, it is impossible to go wrong. When we asked to order two different fish, they suggested two fish. They had different types of texture and flavor so that we could have some diversity in our menu. Finally, with the desserts, we had a flan, Keylime pie, Chocolate mousse, and rice pudding. The desserts were certainly the highlight of the evening after a magnificent meal! Every one of them was substantially portioned, absolutely delicious, and fresh, and very unique. I say that in a very good way. Now after having gone to Casa Dani once they had figured out the kinks in their staffing, ambience, and food as well as their selections, I can strongly recommend it. It’s possible to go there and spend a very reasonable amount of money but based on what you order, you can also go in and spend a fortune. It’s entirely up to you and what you’d like to eat and how much of it. You may simply feel tempted to order a lot because it’s amazing.

My friends invited me to join them at Casa Dani, and I had no idea what to expect. The ambience is warm, smooth, and sexy. I love bossa nova! Our server, Cristianne, was extremely helpful and knowledgeable especially with regard to ingredients and allergies. Her charm brought the menu to life and her recommendations were fantastic. We ordered a large assortment of small plates which were perfect to share. The bone marrow paella was so full of flavor —both savory and scrumptious. I had the lavender sky which was beautiful, balanced, and refreshing. I’m definitely looking forward to dining at Casa Dani again!
