"Casa Apicii is in the bottom of a Greenwich Village townhouse, and it doesn’t look like much from the outside - but walk inside and you’ll find a big dining room with velvet chairs, high ceilings, and some leather banquettes. You’ll also find some very good Italian food, including pastas that your boss will text you about mid-meal. The best part is that it isn’t very hard to get a reservation. So keep the Casa Apicii number on speed dial." - bryan kim, chris stang

Do not go here unless you like rude staff and expensive service. Three of us ordered dinner. Received mouldy bread as an appetizer was told there was no issue with bread when I brought it to there attention. Charged 15 dollars for a 33oz bottle of water. Ordered chicken parmesan. Very small portions for 20 dollars each plus 20% gratuity added on the bill. No wonder because they wouldn't receive any at all otherwise. So disappointed. Better go to the pizza shop on the corner lovely staff and service.

!!!TOURIST TRAP!!! As visitors from Australia, we decided to walk 9th avenue and get a meal, we chose this cute restaurant for a simple Italian meal. We got sparkling water, chicken masala and my partner got the seafood linguine "special". We then ordered desert, with two limoncello's. As the menu showed $23 for a main we assumed everything else would be similar in price. When the bill came it was $226!! The special was $100, limoncello $25 EACH!!! Isaac Elvis was eccentric but harmless i guess. Not sure if he charges locals like this but he will get no repeat business. Just read this back and have been too nice, these clowns ruined our evening, i should have called them on the bullshit at the time but we just paid and left....

Had to get for after traveling from Georgia. This location is right around the corner from the hotel we are staying in. My wife was famished and we had passed by this restaurant on our way to the hotel. I decided we needed to try it, so off we went. I had the Chicken Parmesan, and my wife had the Chicken Romana. Everything came out quickly and smelled wonderful. Flavors were perfect. The dessert was also wonderful. I had the Orange Sorbet, and my wife had the Flan. I would highly recommend this location!

I came in before the dinner crowd, so enjoyed the restaurant to myself, only shared by with another gentleman. The food was delicious. I had the veal and it was cooked to perfection. I had tiramisu to go and was pleasantly surprised that it was packaged as if I had it dining in. A little disappointed with the wine, there was a lot of sedimentation on the bottom of the glass which wasn’t realized until I almost got there. I wish there was a wine list offered. People, don’t make the assumptions. It appears that I experience most folks have, an automatic 20% gratuity. I suppose once I paid with my metal American Express platinum card, he felt a little guilty and provided me with a parting bottle of wine.

Google
The food was way overpriced for the quality. I’m not usually one to complain, and I get that in Manhattan, they charge for just about everything… but here, it wasn’t just the price. The owner, who clearly thinks he’s Elvis, wasn’t friendly at all and stuck my girlfriend and me in some makeshift seating. It didn’t feel welcoming—maybe because we looked Latina. I’ll give 3 stars for the service, though, since our waitress was nice.

Google
From the second we walked in the owner was rude, hoped it was just because a big table was coming in and he was just stressed. All he did was yell at people, even when being polite to him he did nothing but be rude. The wines are outrageous pricing so you get stuck drinking his cheap wine. We ordered a couple apps to start, thankfully for this. We all ordered our meals and about hour and half later we wondered why ours still hadn’t come out. The waitress went on to tell us that she told her boss what we ordered and he refused to put the orders in. At that point we asked for the check. And went next door to have an amazing meal.

Small, dark and cozy Italian restaurant on 9th Ave. in Hells Kitchen. Food was good and wished the portions were a little bigger. We both had the chicken marsala and enjoyed it. My wife had wine and I had room temperature water with dinner. No sodas available, just wine and water… They add fees for tip and for credit card usage…

Yelp
My last night in New York. And this place was awesome. Excellent customer service. Isaac is the owner. Welcomed us warmly. He was attentive to all the customers. Our server was awesome as well. Small intimate place and I liked it. The food was delicious. The dip that came with our warm bread was omg. The garlic in that dip was so deliciously delicious. We substituted the potatoes with our steak with garlic and olive oil pasta. Overall it was a great meal for our last night in NY. Thank you Isaac and Staff.

Yelp
Owner is insane. DO NOT COME HERE. Came here for dessert. Owner was insulted that we came for dessert and not dinner- charged us for a full bottle of amaretto instead of a glass and threatened me and my partner when we questioned the tab. Ended up having to call NYPD before we left because we did not trust this intoxicated, angry man to allow us to leave safely. Please do not go to this business.

Yelp
It was such a pleasure to have dine at Casa Di Isacco. While we were walking down 9th Avenue looking for a place dine and noticed the traditional look of the restaurant. We definitely had to check it out and we had the most joyous sunday evening. The owner was great and took us to the back and at first we were like, what's going on here? Is he walking us out the back, lol. So we ended up sitting at a beautiful table surrounded by nothing but greenery and listening to holiday music. The service was attentive, polite, generous and humerous. This is now my number one spot for calamari done perfectly. Even the bread with seasoned olive oil is the bomb. We used it for the broccoli Rabe (slightly bitter), however adding the seasoned olive oil took the taste over the top for us. My chicken marsala was good and we had three glasses of red a piece having a good time. I don't usually drink wine but the ambiance and food, why the hell not? The seafood pasta a good potion, taste good and enough to bring home. Thanks to the owner and staff for a great Sunday evening. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
An unexpected five star evening in this little restaurant located a block from our hotel. With mixed reviews we were prepared for mediocrity .... But surprise! Food was delicious, and we had fun. Sauces are superb, our dishes -- he veal picatta, me, chicken Francese -- are well-crafted and as good as any we've had. We shared a Caesar salad with its light, flavorful dressing and homemade croutons. One portion is plenty for two. The restaurant has gazillion bottles of wine, but the wine list was short and expensive. I asked our host -- an affable Elvis impersonator -- what he has that's cheaper. He gave us a taste of what he called his mother's homemade wine. (Looking at 'Elvis' I'm guessing his mother must be 113.) The wine is hearty, good and reasonably priced for an overly generous pour. Seeing photos of beautiful desserts, we chose a homemade Italian cheesecake to share. Not worth the $20 price tag, but good. A lovely gesture, the owner gave us gratis glasses of vin Santo -- an Italian dessert wine. I would easily and happily return to Casa Di Isacco.

Yelp
Popped into Casa Di Isacco for a little snack before dinner. We stumbled upon this place on a walk and so glad we did! The vibes were very cozy and familiar. Isaac, the owner, was very friendly and fun to walk with. He spent a lot of his life being an Elvis impersonator! The menu had a lot of incredible dishes, but we settled on the Gnocchi Bolognese. The gnocchi was perfectly cooked, and the bolognese sauce left me wanting so much more! Definitely a great dining spot when in NYC.

David G.

Yelp
You should NOT have to get the NYPD involved just to pay your bill and leave a restaurant, but here we are. We stopped in for a late night drink, coffee, and dessert, and when we questioned a charge, the owner/manager/thinks he's Elvis threatened us and became irate. He got in my fiancé's face repeatedly, spewed vulgarities, and we didn't know what to do. Had to call 911 and get the cops involved just to pay our bill and leave. We were charged for a whole bottle of what he called the "finest amaretto in the world" (Disaronno, which is, just, standard amaretto), when we only asked for a glass, and when we had the gall to ask about it, "Elvis" threw a fit, grabbed at all sorts of stuff on our table and said he was "doing us a favor" (he seriously said "the tablecloths" like that was something miraculous), and screamed and yelled and left us both confused and scared for our safety. Thankfully the police came quickly and escorted us out safely (we did pay). Don't come here unless you want to be ripped off and/or verbal assaulted...or perhaps worse...choose your own adventure, and dine at your own risk. Don't recommend the amaretto...

Yelp
We had a Wonderful dinner here! All around perfect service and our meals were delicious! The bread was yummy and I really enjoyed the sangria. We stopped in for a quick bite and were pleasantly surprised by the ambiance of this hidden little gem. I had the rigatoni and my mother ordered the banzini fish. Every bite better than the last! They sent us home with a bottle of Isaac Elvis's rose. A delightful time was had here

Lito F.

Yelp
Ordered the rib eye. It was delicious and so are the desserts. Restaurant is small but the service was great. Thank you Isaac!

Yelp
I have been to this restaurant several times over the years with usually positive results as mentioned in other reviews, the owner, Isaac is from Spain and is a former Elvis impersonator from Vegas. I have seen him be very entertaining and outgoing in other times just very perfunctory. I stopped in here for lunch recently, and the place was empty, except for him and some friends sitting at the back table. The prices of the items on the menu are about average, especially for New York however, if you order something recommended that is not on the menu watch out! This visit I start with in order of baked clams, which were tasty. I was served a bread basket with exactly one piece of his excellent rustic bread. I ordered the gnocchi Bolognese, which when it came out was piping hot and very tasty The downside is that I was asked if I wanted a glass of wine and said that I would like a glass of red wine I wasn't asked what type and was brought out a decent size glass of a cold red wine. The wine itself wasn't bad but I prefer room temperature red wine. The place is very kitschy with most available space used for storage of bottles of wine, including the rafters. The front window is used for storing fresh produce and shellfish. I thought that it was all a show, however, have seen Elvis stocking in utilizing the product there. I do recall on previous visits that there seem to be dust on the different knickknacks however, it seems to have been cleaned up. The downside is the off menu items my glass of cold red wine was $20. Shame on me for not asking. Overall the ambience is interesting, the food is very good however the "gotchas" chest can be off-putting.

Yelp
Food and service were on point. The atmosphere we cozy and great for after relaxing meal

Yelp
excellent service and food! owner gave us two extra glasses of wine for free and then eventually a free bottle after customers behind us caused a scene. will definitely be back for the chicken parmigiana.

Yelp
Authentic Italian Great service Food was delish Desserts to die food Quaint A NYC experience

David C.

Yelp
Very small restaurant Did not honor rezzie - my whole family schlepped there only to be left hanging. The worst part is they wouldn't even acknowledge their mistake. Well, eat this 1star review.

James G.

Yelp
Great Italian food with a unique atmosphere. I had the chicken Parmesan and it was delicious. For dessert I had a cannoli and an espresso. Service was great no rush and help on menu choices and drinks.

Mike D.

Yelp
The food was good and served hot! I had spaghetti carbonara and my wife had spaghetti bolognese. The bread a little burnt but pretty good. I believe the owner (Elvis) waited on us. He was rude not only to me and my wife but another customer who was a very nice man. We actually had a great conversation with this man as we were visitors from out of town. I would imagine there are way better places with better food, service and ambiance.

Joanna R.

Yelp
Fabulous ambience. The lasagna was outstanding. Very cozy. The owner is quite the character and made it a lot of fun. The atmosphere I would've expected. The owner even gave us a bottle of wine!

Kelly O.

Yelp
It's been a while since I dined at this place and I'm wondering if I was dreaming. There were mob-like people at tables with cashmere overcoats and an Elvis-obsessed owner singing favorites from the King in an Eastern European accent. The whole experience was, well, memorable. I'm certain I didn't drop acid before going, but it felt like it. Go there! Just go.

Lea C.

Yelp
Ok, first of all; have a sense of humor when you walk in the door, these people are funny :) I was craving some pasta carbonara- which has been hard to find here in the states. This restaurant's menu seemed authentic so we called to make a reservation for an early dinner. They bring you rustic country bread to start- nice chewy crust and excellent olive oil with onions and such for additional flavor. We split the spaghetti carbonara and the veal saltimbocca, plus had the mushrooms (boiling upon arrival!) to get some extra veggies. Food was very good- although I thought saltimbocca (in Rome anyway) had prosciutto- this had creamed spinach- still very good. Owner introduced himself - he's quite a character, said he is from Spain and he gave a bottle of Moscato with their label. Great, friendly service and we had an amusing evening.

Yelp
I'm not sure where to begin here and as I write, I am more than a little concerned for my well being as either the actual mafia or the Elvis mafia may seek retribution after this review. And, dear reader, I am not sure which is more terrifying. Let me set the scene for you. We had driven up from RVA on a dreary Monday afternoon and basically made it in time to get ourselves gussied up for a night at the opera. So as you may imagine we found ourselves famished and unsure where to dine. Adding to the abysmal weather and our near starvation level hunger was this pressing issue with my poor feet which has endured too many steps in extreme my uncomfortable albeit sexy shoes. So we found the closest restaurant we could find that was open. As we entered, I knew right away, this was all wrong. But unfortunately it was too late. Since the entrance to this cavernous restaurant was so narrow we were practically blocked in by the kind but over eager servers and ushers to a table before I could object. I looked around the garishly decorated space and observed one lone patron at a table drinking a glass of white and enjoying....now this is the kicker...a documentary on Elvis on full blast in direct competition with the obligatory Italian art songs streaming in the dining hall. Let me digress momentarily. As you walk into Isaac's there is a tiny piano area tucked away and a plaque advertising the Italian Elvis that apparently performs here. Well....as you look around and try to process through all the tchotchke you notice bottles upon bottles of this wine that has a picture of this infamous Italian Elvis. And then....it clicks. The lone patron watching the Elvis documentary that by this point has started over is, in fact, the same man! I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS!!!! I'm actually still processing through it. But what about the food you may be wondering. The complimentary bread and olive oil/vinegar with chopped shallots and two stalks of celery was delicious even if the bread was a tad burnt. My dining companion ordered gnocchi with Bolognese sauce. We were told the gnocchi was made in house and it certainly seemed so. They were delicately made little pillows of yum and the Bolognese was legitimate. I ordered the chicken parm after seeing a picture on Yelp. It was served with rigatoni which we were also told was homemade. It was clearly not. The chicken was breaded well but it, and the tomato sauce that topped it, really could have used a healthy dose of seasoning from a nonna if you feel me. In a city with some of the best restaurants in the world and arguably a third of those are Italian this place just feels like a half step up from when you are here you are family. And I definitely did not feel like family. I'm leaving the three stars only because it's almost worth it just to glimpse this weirdness for yourself.

Genessis L.

Yelp
My favorite Italian restaurant to visit when I'm in the city. Service is 10/10. Food is amazing. Cute little dining area. I got the spaghetti and meatballs and tortufa for dessert (chocolate and vanilla gelato with strawberries and blueberries)

Brian W.

Yelp
Want a memorable NYC dining experience? This is it. From the owner who is an Elvis impersonator to the kitschy decor to the amazing service and food (octopus is a must!). Get the ravioli plate, enjoy the bread and the garlic shrimp and stay for the cannoli. Will return.

Michelle Y.

Yelp
My bf and I were strolling thru the neighborhood. While walking thru the restaurant vibe (old Italian music and aesthetics drew us in) and there we had a spontaneous date night. The owner was beyond welcoming and ensured we had a great meal and to no surprise it was delicious! A man who is dedicated to his business and customers always have returning customers. By the end of the meal he even gifted us a bottle of wine! Highly recommend not only great service but great authentic Italian food!

Brian T.

Yelp
My wife and I went as it was just around the corner from our hotel. The atmosphere was a little quirky, but charming at the same time. I had the chicken parm and my wife had the spaghetti with meatballs. The food was very good. I am not sure I get the whole Elvis vibe in an Italian restaurant, but we enjoyed ourselves. Service was fantastic.

Joe F.

Yelp
We visited this restaurant 14 years ago after we had gotten engaged. We revisited for nostalgia and were firmly disappointed. Service was mediocre, food was also heavy on the sauce side and mediocre as well. We will let the first visit stand as our aha dining moment in the city. The second visit was not worth paying for.

John R.

Yelp
My, chicken franchaise entree was good, it included a side dish of linguine. Entre prices are reasonable for the NYC theater district but they DO NOT post prices for some items. If you're on a budget beware! my dessert was $20 for a fancy scoop of lemon sorbet ice cream. One ice tea was 8 bucks. And you must like Elvis because that's the only music they play. The service was very good and our wait staff was very friendly. For two people the bill came to $142 without alcohol.

Norma R.

Yelp
Casa Di Isacco is our neighborhood go to place in midtown west. Isacco always greets us warmly and makes us feel like honored guests in his home. The food is also "down home", terrific and plentiful. The atmosphere is cozy, fun and festive, with wine and music. We bring friends and we leave hapoy! Norma R.

Joseph M.

Yelp
excellent homemade pasta, great atmosphere, interesting host. fun place for NYC Italian American dinner

Bernard W.

Yelp
In a restaurant that's completely empty, a single patron should be encouraged to sit where they wish. Instead, of an explanation, a short temper and threats were on the menu. In short, the manager is an incredible jerk.

Jeff P.

Yelp
I picked up some dessert to take back to the hotel. Got ripped off. Ordered a couple cannoli to go and they were horrible. Soggy and didn't have any flavor. Additionally, they wanted to charge me $20 a piece. Horrible service. There are a lot of great Italian restaurants in the area, choose another.

Milton G.

Yelp
We went the 30th dec and we had the worst experience in the restaurant Owner singing horrible for over an hour we dodnt received any food in our tables we decide to leave and we got charge Never again we will came back

Izabela B.

Yelp
I was on the hunt for some ravioli following the nearby NY Auto Show and blindly ran into this gem. My boyfriend and I were immediately seated and found the restaurant to be cozy and intimate. We weren't aware of the history of the restaurant at the time however we were served by Isaac and heard his lovely singing for a nearby table. The cheese ravioli was a 10/10 - the perfect combination of everything. My boyfriend and I cleared our plates almost immediately and can't wait to return in the future to try out the rest of the menu - especially the pictured desserts!

Jackie R.

Yelp
Just arrived in New York and we were looking for authentic Italian place. We walked in by fluke and we're extremely and presently surprised food was excellent. Isaac is an amazing host. Definitely recommend.

Nadine I.

Yelp
I've have better pasta in Pizza Hut. It was only me and another person, how could it taste sooo bad and bland. In addition, the host was busy sitting with the other customer and was very rude when I tried to ask him for a glass of wine. This is NY, home of good Italian food. Horribly overpriced, rubbish service, and below average food.

Michele J.

Yelp
Such an amazing neighborhood gem!!! The tortellini di lanona was so yummy! My daughter loved the gnocchi Bolognese. Don't miss dessert!! The homemade lemon sorbet was so delicious and the presentation was lovely.

Peter G.

Yelp
Casa Di Isacco By far the best restaurant in New York for there Food Service and Atmosphere you can not get any better then this. Mr. Isacco makes you feel like family Thank You for a unforgettable evening

Will V.

Yelp
First time back here after a late night, post-concert (Maluma!) dinner four years ago. Today was for a mid-afternoon, pre-Christmas family lunch. We had the best time together and felt both at home and in the holiday spirit for the first time this season. The ambience immediately sweeps you away from the less than glam Port Authority (9th Ave. side) area. A bit busy from the outside, once inside Trattoria Casa di Isacco is a lovely, jam-packed little space with plants and bottles of wine everywhere, plus Italy inspired art and celeb photos (Elvis Presley! Sofia Vergara!). The real difference maker is Isacco himself, the owner, maitre d', and former Elvis impersonator with the haircut and sideburns to prove it. Isacco can be gruff and brusque at first, like New York, but he reveals a warm and welcoming side. He is a character like you only find in NYC, with more stories than the Empire State Building. He is definitely opinionated, but you sort of feel like he wants to steer you toward the best meal he can. We started with a bottle of cava to celebrate a toast to the season and our Colombian and American family. Isacco spoke Spanish and English to us and shared a Sofia Vergara story. Appetizers were a very good grilled octopus (pulpo) and fine Buffalo mozzarella salad with fresh tomato and grilled peppers. Entrees all received a thumbs up, I ordered off menu to get penne arrabbiata, with a nice spicy kick. Others enjoyed meat ravioli and chicken parmigiana. Desserts were excellent and well plated: a very good flan, lemon sorbet inside a lemon, and pineapple sorbet inside a pineapple, plus Limoncello for all to cap our meal off. Isacco gifted us with a couple of bottles of his house wine to go. He also encouraged us to walk through the tight squeeze kitchen to see the lovely, hidden - past a "Welcome to Graceland" sign - covered outdoor garden dining room. Next time, we will be there and I can already imagine a future group dinner. This lunch was a unique and lovely experience that put us all in the holiday spirit.

Corey N.

Yelp
So much more than the outdoor entrance would indicate. Found this on Yelp and just around the corner from the hotel. What a great find. The exterior has a lot going on outside as there is little room for the "come hither" call to come inside. It felt like it was working a little too hard. But entering the establishment one can immediately feel the more quiet speculation from the busy outside. There are decoration on every inch of the place. While a lot to take in, there is an order and relevance to the items for a typical Italian restaurant. My friends and I felt at home and excited for the meal right away. Spaghetti Bolognese was perfect and almost a bit to much to eat but it was so good that I finished it. Loved the presentation on the desserts, which for me was the Spumoni ice cream. It was elaborately presented. Delightful also in taste. Almost forgot to mention the music. It was almost all Elvis. That made more sense when the manager came out. With the hairstyle and the required sideburns, it appeared his previous life was Elvis impersonator. Everyone was lovely and we had the best time for a few hours. Definitely a great experience.

M Scott C.

Yelp
The service at this interesting little place is decent, but the seafood dish I ordered was mediocre to bad! The shrimp was overcooked, the clams and lobster overly fishy and I usually don't mind that, but this was too close to being old to stand for it, so I said something to the owner/manager, and he was a complete JERK to me, hence the 2-star rating. Tip- if a customer has a complaint, you don't treat them like crap and ridicule them, you try to do something to make up for it! Then the waiter tried to make excuses for the manager, and didn't even think about offering another dish, or some monetary mea culpa, they just threw the check at me at ignored me from then on...DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE, THEY HAVE NO RESPECT FOR CUSTOMERS, the food is mediocre, and the owner clearly doesn't care about quality! The Restaurant Impossible guy would have a field day with this place!

Mark E.

Yelp
Not your average Italian Restaurant... To truly understand this little place in the heart of Hell's Kitchen, you must definitely separate the food from the service and put the ambiance in a place all its' own. We were four visiting from Texas and of course wanted to do all things New York during our time in the city. On our first night we walked around the corner from our hotel to find this little slice of, what we hoped, was the epitome of the neighborhood eatery. It did not disappoint. As you enter, the size of the indoor seating area is surprisingly "quaint" with seating for only 20...not counting the piano player, more to come on him. We were seated quickly and served immediately by the owner himself, Isaac, who we all noticed was sporting a well preserved outfit from 1973, white belt included. The walls were adorned in light fixtures and pictures mostly from the same decade and the piano player, sitting just as you enter the restaurant, was playing on a small baby grand that hadn't been tuned since the Eisenhower administration. Isaac was cordial and spouted off a list of specials for the evening in an accent that was a mix of Italian, Spanish, English and something we don't hear much in Texas...all of which was drowned out by the attempt at some operatic aria from our piano friend. In the meantime, I'm positive a member of one of the local "families" found his way to a table nearby. He was dressed in the appropriate leisure suit with gold framed glasses straight out of Goodfellas. He removed his high crowned white hat as he sat and immediately tucked his white linen napkin into his shirt collar to cover the red ribbon tie from his impending meal. He remained seated with his lady friend throughout the evening as he poured sangria into awaiting ice filled wine glasses and seemed well at ease to the surroundings of the establishment. Just the neighborhood flair we were looking for. We stuck with basic Italian fare for our entree's which were advertised to be the best pasta in the city. So much for that! The sauces were OK and very overpriced. The evening continued with the pianist's trial and error of show tunes, Italian favorites and some classics, all with a mixture of success. The occasional attempt at singing was made and seemed to be more of a practice session than a performance, but taken in context of what we think was the intent of the owner, we enjoyed it wholeheartedly. The desserts are sublime and everyone in our party was impressed with not only their taste but the presentation. Once Isaac served our dessert, it was his turn to take a swing at some vocalizations as the Italian Elvis. The musical symmetry between Isaac and our afore mentioned pianist was completely non existent...both seemingly in their own key signature with complete disregard for time or rhythmic patterns...again, it was glorious! It became apparent that Isaac was not just taking a short break to sing a couple of songs before bringing us our check....he had a set list to complete. We did have to ask another waiter for our check so we could make our escape at the proper musical moment. We did receive a private label bottle of wine with a picture of Isaac himself on the bottle as we departed. This little place is a memory that we will have forever of our trip to New York and I am so glad we found it. If you're wanting a quiet night out, this might not be your thing but, for a taste of the neighborhood and something completely different it's definitely worth the time and the experience. We will be back!

Prince S.

Yelp
This place terrible. Honestly do not even waste your time. Only good thing here was the artsy interior. My entree was super bland. I came with 4 other friends who also thought their respective orders were bland. I understand if one dish isn't good but if all five dishes tasted bland, the chef needs to be changed, or something needs to be done. We also ordered dessert... I mean can't go wrong with that, right ? WRONG! The tiramisu was NOT tiramisu. idk what I ate. The cheesecake was over cooked, it had ice flakes in every bite. I should've gone to McDonald's instead.

David A.

Yelp
I have to say the look from the outside doesn't do this place justice. Once you come in you're transported to the great dark Soprano kind of vibe. The back part of the restaurant is like a tropical jungle. Let's talk about the food. OMG tonight's special lobster linguine with everything seafood on it clams, mussels, shrimp and a good size lobster. Linguine is cooked to perfection. I see all the negatives about the service fee I get it just pay attention to your bill and you won't have anything to worry about. It's NY wouldn't expect anything less... "Forget about it" lol.....

Shimpei O.

Yelp
Angry! Can't understand! Avoid this restaurant! We ordered Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc. But the characteristic manager "Elvis" brought two glasses of cheap terribly sweet something, to charge $10 for each. Both were the same. We gently asked if it was not any mistake, then he repeated "homemade!" Homemade wine...!? Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc can be the same!? Rudeness is not a crime. However, misrepresentation is a fraud. We think the other staffs of this restaurant would know how wrong the conceited "Elvis" is. One of them (of course, not "Elvis") who brought the check saw we didn't drink the UNIDENTIFIABLE liquid, and came back with a wine bottle to offer free TRUE wine to us. Well, we were too angry to accept his apology. We have been living in NYC for 10 years, but "Elvis" is the worst restaurant manager! I wish tourists wouldn't believe this is NYC.

Yelp
Be aware because they make you pay 20% tip even if the service was less than desirable. They also don't tell you until you're about to pay, and they charge you 4% fee for paying with credit card. Prices are higher than what shows online. Everything is $20 and up. The service was very bad. The owner served us and he was very rude. Pressuring us to order something right away. We also asked him what one of the things was from the menu and his response was: "you won't like it it doesn't matter". We also asked if he had Aperol spritz, since it is supposed to be an Italian restaurant, and his reaction was very rude telling us he didn't have that and that he didn't know what we were talking about. The food was average. Nothing amazing. Not bad, but not amazing. The pasta is NOT "the best pasta in NYC" not by far. The sangria was good though. In conclusion I do not recommend, and won't be coming back.

Yelp
This review is only for the ambiance.... We were walking around one evening looking for a place to eat and passed by this restaurant. The seating area is incredibly small and tight. It is very very cluttered. Too many tables and decorations for the space. I have seen other reviews mention they loved the atmosphere, but it wasn't for us. Very dim lighting made it hard to see anything on the walls so overall it just looked unkempt. We were loudly greeted by "Elvis" himself and he listed all the beverages available to us. We were looking over the menu when we saw a massive cockroach walking along the restaurant floor and under a table. I understand roaches are part of life but it just added to the overall feeling that this was not a clean place, so we left.

Yelp
This place is a gem. We came here on a Saturday night around peek dinner hours and were seated quickly. The service here is amazing, our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The owner of the restaurant constantly came and checked on us to make sure we were comfortable. He even gifted us a bottle of wine and made our dining experience so much better. I ordered the spaghetti bolognese and it was perfect. It has been my favorite meal by far. No other restaurant comes close to the service this place offers 10/ 10 would recommend. If you come here I recommend the sangria with your meal.

Yelp
We happened across this restaurant by accident. The proprietor was serving wine to the folks waiting to get in, so we decided to stay and try it . Turns out the restaurant is great - great food, service, ambiance. We return every time we're back in NY.

Yelp
Julio was very friendly, knowledgeable and very professional. He explained to us the dishes and made sure we get what we want - no meat - no chicken - only vegetarian dishes. We try to keep semi kosher and he helped us with the menu. The ambiance - very cool, cozy with nice old music in the background. The portion - generous. The price - reasonable. We will highly recommend this restaurant and we will come back very soon to check other dishes.

Yelp
Walked by to get a glass of wine before dinner and ended up having a bottle of methode sparkling wine. The atmosphere is cute you sit by the sidewalk but see the grape wine, roses and peaches. The owner Isacc is super nice. He talked to us and made our dining experience more pleasant with long steam red rose. He shared with us that by next week they will open the patio in the back of restaurant. The foods are amazing here. We ended the night with home made teramisu. Looking forward to coming back for more good times.
