Tasting menu restaurant with creative, globe-trotting dishes

"Casa Fofò is a low-key tasting menu restaurant in Hackney making an always-changing menu of delicious and indefinable food. Expect eight courses of things like potato in chuggable fermented tom yum, or plain-looking pasta that turns out to taste like the very essence of oyster and chilli. We’d recommend bringing a date, as this is one of E8’s most intimate restaurants." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, sinead cranna, rianne shlebak
"Unless you’re the kind of person who pops to the shop in a Ferrari and boils their pasta in a pot full of Voss water, then you probably don’t think of tasting menus as particularly good-value. So it’s a welcome surprise to find that Casa Fofò, a casual Hackney tasting menu restaurant that draws inspiration from around the world, offers both good value and a good atmosphere. The eight courses change daily and at £73 for the whole lot, it makes for an excellent date night." - jake missing, sinead cranna, daisy meager
"It’s easier to forgo decisions when you wouldn’t have a clue if you were given the choice anyway. That’s the beauty of Casa Fofò, a low-key tasting menu restaurant in Hackney with creative food that draws on global influences. You’ll be served eight courses of things like almond ravioli in chuggable mystery broth #1, or a bowl of plain-looking pasta that tastes like the very essence of oyster. We’d recommend bringing a date, as this is one of E8’s most intimate and unique restaurants." - jake missing, sinead cranna, rianne shlebak

"There’s no paper menu handed out at this cosy little spot tucked away in a parade of shops off Dalston High Road; just trust the chefs in the open kitchen who’ll produce an intriguing, enjoyable and fairly priced set dinner that’ll leave you feeling sated and contented. The chefs know their butchery and make good use of techniques like pickling and fermenting. Aged Cornish mackerel could be followed by almond anolini; lamb can feature firstly as a broth and then as three different cuts. Consider going for the pairing of natural wines." - Michelin Inspector
