"Cinco de Mayo marks this Bethesda restaurant’s first birthday, so to celebrate, there’s a $15 deal on three tacos and a watermelon margarita. Bigger parties can partake in a $100 platter that includes 20 tacos and two 32-ounce margaritas." - Vinciane Ngomsi

100% DO NOT RECOMMEND. Came here with some coworkers for a quick dinner and it was horrible from the start. Waiters automatically give themselves a 20% tip, even for small groups, so the service is terrible since they don't have to work for it. We received water quickly after being seated, and then didn't have anyone return for almost 30 minutes to take our drink and food orders. The food was okay. Not bad, but definitely not worth the price. Once the food was delivered we didn't see the waiter again. Zero water refills, didn't check on us. We woukd have ordered more drinks, but never got the chance.

I came here to celebrate a birthday with family. We came during Saturday brunch but ordered from their lunch menu which offered more variety. We ordered the fish mixto ceviche and guacamole and salsa with chips to start. The ceviche was too tangy and had too much citrus for my liking. We ordered the Mexican corn, chicken quesadilla, steak quesadilla, shrimp tacos, carne asada and birria tacos for entrees. All the food was delicious. We ordered the fried ice cream and tres leches cake for dessert, which was a good way to end the lunch. For drinks we ordered the mule and old fashion, which were nice and strong. I would definitely return here. Our service was great and the food was pretty good.

I love this Mexican restaurant in Bethesda!! Food are so good and cocktails too. Tres leches was yummy.

Sitting outside on a lovely night. Great service and delicious food. Enjoyed margaritas, yummy food and a relaxing atmosphere. We’ll be back.

Group of friends enjoyed lunch here. The provided tortilla chips were freshly made and not salty, the salsa was very mild and thin. My taco trio was tasty: the shrimp was cooked perfectly, the Al pastor with pork and pineapple was dry, the chapulin (grasshopper) was nutty and lightly crunchy (also an experiment because where else could one have a trial taste). My friends found the fajitas enjoyable but far too much food (they filled takeaway cartons), the enchiladas not very spicy, and other tacos not very exciting. The shrimp tacos were the overwhelming favorite, worthy of a return trip.

Google
Overall decent birria tacos. The cons- a reservation charge, overall it seemed cheaply decorated, and only 1 complimentary chips and salsa.

Google
Everything was good. Birria was tender and cheesy but the consume lacked a bit of depth I am used to having. The guacamole has an interesting flavor, almost eggy. Service was attentive and friendly, we didn't have a wait and our server was there right when we needed her. The patio lights are cute too. Was a beautiful night to dine outside!

Google
Honestly this place is really good and the flavors and unique takes on certain dishes are very good. It isn't fancy, but they bring a really good value for high quality Mexican food!! All aspects of the meal are done well. Don't sleep on Oaxaca!

Yelp
Met a friend here for lunch and it was very good. I had the Oaxaca salad with grilled chicken. The food arrived promptly and there was a TON of chicken on the salad. The veggies were crispy and came with a lime/cilantro dressing that was tangy and tart. The service was super-friendly. Our server answered all my questions with grace and understanding. The decor had that baja california fish taco kind of vibe. Really laid back without being boring. Looking forward to trying their happy hour!

Yelp
At first glance, this place looks very unassuming. But they have the most adorable outdoor seating with cute colored lanterns and that was really nice! Especially with the weather! But I'm glad we ended up going and could experience this good food! So yeah, the food was tasty. The only let down was the Mole enchiladas which were fine, but not great. Everything else though was delicious, especially the queso! That was stellar with the homemade corn tortillas!! Oh and the churros. I could have eaten the whole plate myself! The service was good until the end of the evening and we waited a solid twenty minutes to get our check and we were getting a little antsy! It was near the end of the night and they were closing up so I understand that, but otherwise service was good and she gave us recommendations that were wonderful! Overall, it was a really nice dinner and a good price.

Yelp
My Valentine's Day tacos were amazing. I just love the food here! Can't go wrong with anything you try.

Yelp
Casa Oaxaca is located in Bethesda - metered parking as well as garage parking. They have a nice tented party room with heating lamps and fire pit. Staff were attentive during the event. Food was good and the margarita was pretty good. I had a great time.
google avatar

Yelp
The birra tacos were good! The place is small, but had a fun, festive atmosphere. Came here for lunch on Monday and was able to get a table easily. They have more adventurous tacos such as grasshoppers and cactus. Would come back and recommend to others!

Yelp
Came on a beautiful Fr night and service took a long time...had to ask someone to get our server and then still wait. Then it was fine... Shrimp tacos were pretty good but a bit cold. Husband had mushroom tacos and said they were ok. It's a fun outdoor spot on a nice day. Margarita tasted weird...strange for a Mexican restaurant. Was very disappointed about that! Atmosphere is nice with a cute outdoor patio but food and drink were not great.

Yelp
I came for happy hour (only offered at the bar) and we got a few drinks and carnitas tacos. Tacos were $3 each and they were decent. Drinks were good and cheap. They give free chips and salsa. I would come back again for happy hour, if I'm in the area. Service was good and attentive.

Yelp
Service was quick and prompt, drinks were strong and good, outside patio was nice and the octopus tacos were generous with the octopus and filled with flavor! Will definitely be back to try other stuff on the menu
google avatar

Yelp
Great portions. I really appreciated that the rice and beans were served in small ramekins rather than pouring over the side and taking over the plate like we see in the Midwest. Plenty of options for tacos, even if you're vegetarian.

Yelp
A good, smallish Mexican restaurant in Bethesda. It's easy to miss, but worth looking for and visiting. A buddy was visiting and wanted to have a happy hour with a few folks. I asked a few folks and they recommended Casa Oaxaca - a great choose. Great cold (Mexican) beers (Laguanita IPA and Pacifica on tap), an extensive selection of tequila, and great mix of cocktails. The chips and salsa served when you first sit ate a great start. Our group had cocktails and appetizers - tasty and quickly brought out. There is outdoor seating, but we chose to stay inside due to the heat & humidity. A great place for a quick and tasty happy hour in Bethesda, worth checking out.

Yelp
Really great restaurant with tasty Mexican food. We got the carne asada tacos, guac and chips and tamale. I didn't care for the tamale as it didn't have a lot of pork and the corn was too smooth, but I recommend the tacos. There's an outside area and inside area. Margaritas are fabulous.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a great Mexican restaurant. I really liked the birria tacos. They were meaty and savory and went well with the consomme. The esquites here were good too and the margaritas were made well. They have limited indoor seating and a lot of outside seating. The service was great and I would definitely come back.

Yelp
Visited this spot on Cinco de Mayo. Pretty typical Mexican food, which is more than fine with me. I got steak quesadillas and my friend got their birria tacos. I got a hibiscus margarita and my friend got a strawberry margarita. Wasn't the biggest fan of the margaritas. Not sure what type of tequila they used but it had an interesting taste. The tres leches cake was my favorite. It was perfect. Service was good and efficient and atmosphere is chill. They have an outdoor covered patio which is nice too.

Yelp
I still love this place, the food is always great. Sometimes the service is a little slow, but it is worth it! Last time they forgot to bring my fundido, but took it off the bill and i was fine because i was full off the birria tacos and rice - always a great feeling leaving here full and happy. My fave drink is stilll the coconut margarita - yum!

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place, on a late Wednesday morning, while looking for a breakfast burrito spot. I found parking on the street and was planning to order to go but when I saw the menu I decided to sit in. I asked to sit in their outdoor seated area because I didn't want to sit in the air conditioning. They have a nice outdoor seating area, with a bar, and an overhead covering. Because it's right next to the street area, there are frequent delivery trucks and noise from the street that might be hard to talk over if you have company. But since this was a solo date, I enjoyed feeling the natural breeze and people watching. The service was very attentive. My server was great because she anticipated my needs and gave me time to enjoy my meal. When I asked for a to go box and the check, she quickly removed my used plates and ensured I was taken care of while she continued to serve the lunch rush of customers. The food was delicious. I ordered a mole tamale as an appetizer and the chicken fajitas as my entree. I also ordered the Mezcal Mule as a beverage. The mole tamale had a bit more masa than chicken but the flavor was good. I added the salsa from the chips and salsa for more flavor and a little bit of spice. The mule was tasty and refreshing, it tasted like they used fresh lime which I appreciate. I was getting more full by the time I ate the fajitas. I ordered it with corn tortillas but they also have the option of flour tortillas.

Yelp
Food, service, and ambiance are all best in class. I have visited three times since moving to the area during July. My wife and I selected it as a place to introduce our family to while visiting during November. We have not been disappointed in any way! I get to eat plenty of home-cooked Mexican food and from mine and my family's perspective, Casa Oaxaca is very flavorful, tender meat, and authentic. The service has been outstanding each time we visit. Our bartender on our last visit was super helpful in describing the Mezcal options and very friendly. Pro tip, ask for their hottest salsa for your tacos.

Yelp
Casa Oaxaca is one of my Bethesda favorites--especially for a work happy hour (only served at the bar and their bar is very small). The drinks here are FRESH. Fresh as in, just squeezed and made to order right in front of you. The Frida margarita is SO D*** GOOD. If they weren't so expensive, I'd order more than just the one. The added hibiscus flower is the perfect touch. They also were my go-to spot for chapulines tacos, AKA fried grasshoppers. The tacos were tangy and crispy and packed with protein. Whenever I see insects on the menu, it's a must. These were the perfect find and I would bring everyone who visited me to this restaurant to try them out. Unfortunately, I did not see them on the menu this past weekend which made me really sad... The octopus dishes here are spot-on. Always fresh and cooked/grilled to perfection.

Yelp
Really enjoyed Casa Oaxaca! We made a reservation for during Bethesda's Friday night concert series. Small inside, larger outdoor patio. Music playing the whole time! It started to drizzle halfway through dinner but they have an awning that stretches across the full patio and they set it up as soon as the rain started. The complimentary chips and salsa was GREAT. The chips are thin and salty, my personal favorite. We shared the mixed ceviche - delicious! I ordered the al pastor and the pulpo taco to myself. I wish I had gotten another pulpo taco, the meat was so flavorful and tender!!! I LOVED IT and I never see octopus tacos so it was just an exciting and delicious taco altogether. Would definitely go back!

Yelp
We came here on a Saturday night as a large party of 7 people, and we were able to get seated in less than 20 minutes after putting our name down! I was immediately blown away by how beautiful everything was, as we sat outside in their patio space that was decorated with lights and papel picado. Definitely the perfect place for hangouts! I ordered a strawberry margarita and tostada de ceviche. Both were pretty solid, although I was surprised by how my tostada de ceviche looked more like chicken than fish. I thought the fish would taste fresher and that there would be more toppings, but it did the trick for $8. Everyone else around me loved their food, with strong recommendations for the burria tacos.

Yelp
Loved this spot so much, came here twice lol. The service and food is A1. The vibe outdoors is so cute, first time I dined in, second time outside. The drinks, omg, amazing. Margs are bomb! The birria tacos 10/10, corn, chips, churros, all amazing. If in the area, definitely check out this spot, you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Not good nor authentic Mexican food. Ordered the green chicken enchiladas and esquite. The tortillas for the enchiladas were store bought and the salsa verde was lacking. The canned salsa verde taste better than theirs. The rice was good but the beans tasted like Goya canned black beans. The esquite was just okay. Way too citrusy and again canned corn. Disappointed because I had high hopes from a restaurant with Oaxaca in their name.

Yelp
Decent modern Mexican joint. They have really nice outdoor dining area for the warmer weather. Came here for lunch and tried the Chicken Mole Tamale and Fish Taco. They start you off with chips and salsa and I couldn't get enough of the chips. I'm a huge fan of mole and tamale and was excited to try this but ended up being VERY disappointed by their Chicken Mole Tamale. As for the Fish Taco, it was delicious and ended up ordering second round. Their tacos seem to be their specialty. I would be back to try mother food and drink items. They have a nice menu items for traditional Mexican non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks. I went for a late lunch and it seemed to be after the lunch rush. Both my server and the hostess were attentive and super helpful during my visit.

Yelp
A late review but essential nonetheless! I enjoyed Casa Oaxaca :) came on a beautiful, warm early evening, and the place was lively. Music was playing, tables full of chatter, and service was friendly and prompt. Outdoor seating is fantastic during the summer months. My usual fave birria was so delicious! Crisp shell, tender beef seasoned to perfection, and consomme was delightful. Oh, and the beer... was cold!!! I forgot to capture, but my guest enjoyed their asada... also tender and seasoned to perfection. Housemade chips and salsa while you wait for the win!

Yelp
I came here right after I checked into my hotel. I was greeted with a smile as I went towards the bar for seating. The bartender was very friendly and immediately gave me water and menus. There were games on the televisions and music playing. Since it was St. Patrick's Day, I ordered a plain Margarita because it deemed fit. It tasted good and I could taste the tequila, but it wasn't strong. I had a shrimp quesadilla. It came out pretty fast, but the flavors didn't jump out for me, it was also pretty small. I ordered some yellow rice as well. The rice was great, but it was just a small portion as well. In all, the service is great and the restaurant was clean. Although my quesadilla wasn't a favorite, I would come back to try to steak fajita. I'm celebrating Lent and I went on a Friday, so I couldn't indulge. It smelled amazing, however.

Yelp
On one of my many journeys into the DMV area stopped upon this gem. The outdoor seating and bar is what caught my eye, our server was very up beat and knowledgeable always great when your server suggests menu items. I had the Birria tacos and guacamole with crickets, yes crickets that is an option. The tacos were amazing, the Birria meat was well seasoned and succulent the consume alone was packed full of flavor. Guacamole not pictured was also amazing. Very nice setting and a great spot to relax and a great meal.

Yelp
We came with our family on Christmas Eve and we were treated terribly. No smiles, no helpful service. We almost bussed our own table. The ambiance was fine. So it didn't make sense that there were 5 employees just standing around. The food was only 3/5 because it was poorly seasoned. Fresh ingredients including homemade tortilla chips but nothing beyond ordinary. We were all very disappointed in the service. The server even yelled at us for not specifying if we wanted a cup or bowl of pazole. Seriously do not recommend this place.
google avatar

Yelp
Love the ambiance and the food didn't feel heavy but it also lacked seasoning. We tried three tacos, the chicken Roja tamale, and enchiladas with chicken and both red and green sauce, with rice and beans. Plus, the complimentary chips and salsa. I loved the pulpo/octopus taco which was super tender and delicious, the chicken Roja tamal which was pretty good, and the chips and salsa which included some blistered tomatoes. The grasshopper tacos were a tad too salty and sour though I enjoyed the bugs themselves. The lengua taco was not that good. It lacked seasoning. I enjoyed the tortilla but it needed more acid and onion and cilantro. The enchiladas weren't cooked with the salsas. The chicken was a tad tasty and the sauces while good would have been better if integrated in the enchiladas. The black beans and rice lacked flavor. With just a few tweaks this place could be amazing. Not quite there yet.

Yelp
The food was good, but I was a bit underwhelmed by Casa Oaxaca. Would be a good spot for drinks and appys though! Vibe: 8/10 Service: 7/10 Birria tacos: 7/10 Tamales: 6/10 (I think I just don't love tamales. My favorite of the 3 was the mole!) Queso fundido: 7/10 (not as flavorful as others I've had) The free chips are wonderful! Overall: 7/10 (3.5/5)

Yelp
This place is smaller than I expected inside but it also has a lot of character. Their tequila and mezcal collection is extensive however I didn't see Termana (one of my favs). I got 3 mix and match tacos with black beans and rice for about $12 and some change. I was expecting more from the barbacoa taco, it could have been seasoned a little more and it was kind of on the dryer side. The shrimp taco was really good, love the slaw that was on top and the shrimp were well seasoned. The chorizo taco was my favorite, super flavorful, a good fat to protein ratio. The tortillas weren't soggy which is a plus. The black beans were good, had a lot of flavor. I have had some pretty bland ones but these were far from it. There was nothing super special about the food but I didn't walk away feeling disappointed. Customer service was good, didn't have to wait long for my food, and it was nice and hot when it came out.

EK B.

Yelp
Food is delicious and service was on point. Only odd thing was that their happy hour is at the inside bar ONLY. I loved sitting in their outdoor patio.

Yelp
Ordered from here this past Tuesday for dinner on UberEats for my wife and I and we were very impressed. For an appetizer we had the Queso Oaxaca Fritos and for dinner we shared the Chicken, Fish, Lengua, Mushrooms, Carne Asada, Nopal, Vegetables, Chapulines, and Barbacoa tacos. We loved each of the tacos although our least favorite but the most unique were the Chapulines which had friend grasshoppers that we have not seen anywhere else. We look forward to both ordering from here again and trying this place out in person.

Yelp
My family and I had a late lunch at Casa Oaxaca off Fairmont Avenue in Bethesda. Since it was nice weather, we sat outdoors in their heated tent. It was decorated with Mexican paper banners. Our server Harold was patient and attentive, ensuring that we liked everything we received and that we didn't need anything else. For drinks, we shared a pitcher of Margarita. It was $35 for their Classic Margarita or $40 for their Flavored Margarita. It was nice that there were 10 flavors to pick from. Harold's favorites were Guava, Mango, and Passion Fruit. We ended up getting a pitcher of Mango Margarita, which came with tajin rimmed glasses. While waiting for our food, we were given Chips and Salsa to munch on. The tortilla chips were crispy and the salsa consisted of charred/roasted tomatoes. In addition to the Chips and Salsa, we shared Guacamole and Chips and Esquite. The Guacamole and Chips consisted of guacamole made of avocado, onions, cilantro, jalapeño, and lime served with tortilla chips. The Esquite consisted of Mexican street corn salad topped with cheese, tajin seasoning, mayo, and lime. I liked how it was sweet and savory! My brother and I shared the Birria Tacos. It was my first time having Birria Tacos and I enjoyed every minute of it. The Birria Tacos consisted of three tacos filled with braised short rib, topped with onions and cilantro, and served with a flavorful consomme. In addition to the Birria Tacos, my brother had the Carne Asada Taco, which consisted of a flour tortilla filled with grilled steak, onions, and cilantro. He enjoyed it with a salsa verde. My sister-in-law had a Nopal Taco and Chapulines Taco. The Nopal Taco consisted of a flour tortilla filled with grilled cactus, onions, and cilantro while the Chapulines Taco consisted of a flour tortilla loaded with grasshoppers, onions, and cilantro. She enjoyed them with salsa verde. She didn't expect the Chapulines Taco to be 95% grasshopper and would have preferred it to have less grasshoppers. I got to try grasshoppers for the first time. The grasshoppers were crispy, salty, and earthy. My mom had the Chicken Quesadilla, which consisted of a flour tortilla filled with grilled chicken and cheese and served with pico de gallo, guacamole, and sour cream. It was light, but I enjoyed dipping it into my leftover consomme. My dad had a Chicken Taco and Pulpo (Octopus) Taco. The Chicken Taco consisted of a flour tortilla filled with grilled chicken, onions, and cilantro, while the Pulpo Taco consisted of a flour tortilla filled with grilled octopus, onions, and cilantro. They were both tasty without additional condiments. I'd definitely return to their other flavored Margaritas, Tacos Dorados, Ceviche, Lengua (Beef Tongue) Taco, Carnitas Taco, Al Pastor Taco, Huaraches, Churros, Tres Leche, and Flan.

Yelp
Was intrigued by Casa Oaxaca. Is it really good, authentic Mexican? Let's give it a go and see where we end up. So for lunch for 2 (we were hungry), we got: Chips & Guac - guac was tasty but missing that extra "umph." Chips weren't oily (thank goodness), but weren't fresh and hot, and a tad on the thin, easily breakable side. Chips & Salsa - Decent salsa...see chip comment above Ceviche - mahi mahi with red onions, jalapeños, cilantro, and avocado. It was interesting with the avocado thrown in. Rice - Tasty Beans - sprinkled with queso but a tad on the undercooked side (too much of a bite to them) Nopales Taco - while I Love nopales, this one was too salty and I was just not a fan. Lengua Taco - Hubs is a big "if you're al pastor tacos are good, then you are a solid place," but I'm more of the "if you can make lengua tacos right, then you're alright." Some parts of the lengua were crispy and other parts were over-done. Overall it was a decent taco. Mushroom Taco - tasty, a tad on the salty side The salsas that accompanied the tacos were lackluster for me- over blended and under-seasoned. One of our servers was super friendly and delightful and the other was meh. This place was a solid 3.5 Stars, but stellar authentic Mexican? I'm not quite sure I would say that. The place is small and seats about 20 people total. I might give this place a go if I'm craving Mexican and I'm in the area, but not worth traveling to, sorry!

Yelp
I should start by mentioning how perplexed I feel trying to write this review. In short, my food was delicious, the service was okay, but I saw a mouse climbing around the rafters. YIKES! Our party of two arrived on a Thursday night at 7:15 p.m. I highly recommend making a reservation in advance through OpenTable (listed on their website) because the restaurant was full. Despite having a reservation, we were asked to move tables once and had three different servers request to take our food and drink orders. I'm not sure where there was a miscommunication between the staff about who would be serving us. It was great that we received so much attention but it was also confusing that we did not have one server. The food DID NOT disappoint. Man, I get nervous trying new things but these sopes were mmm mmm mmmm, belly-filling delicious. The menu is full of options at different price points which is great if you are a penny pincher but have friends who are ballers. The MAJOR off-putting part of my experience was the mouse I spotted climbing across the rafters once I finished my food. Gross. I could just imagine little drops of poop falling and potentially dropping as it comfortably ran around up there. I quietly alerted a server and scurried out the door. My friend's leftovers went in the trash due to a ruined appetite, despite previously enjoying the food. I really want to support this business because the food was bomb, but I'll say go with caution.

Yelp
Pretty authentic Mexican fishes, including a variety of tacos (I had the tongue and the carnitas tacos) as well as other delicious entrées (I also had a Mexican chorizo huarache, which was very good). Ask for poco de gallo and habanero sauce (not really that spicy!). They have a variety of Mexican and local beers, but I'm not a beer drinker so I had their passionfruit margaritas, with a "tajin" border. They desserts are just a few but I had the outstanding très leches cake with a "Jamaica" (hybiscus) reduction sauce. It was awesome!

Yelp
Loved the vibe here. Small restaurant, very friendly sit down service & a great place for lunch. I really loved the variety of the menu and being able to try something I've never had before, which was a grasshopper taco (chapulines)!! The corn tortillas were fresh and had great taste; it was a 1-ply taco, which I appreciate. The grasshopper was crunchy & had a deep, light smoky-ish flavor. Loved the flavor. Seeing the grasshoppers whole was a challenge for me, but so glad I tried it. The barbacoa taco was mild in spice, but rich in flavor. Very tender and plenty of "juice" The ceviche tostado was tasty & I was super excited about ordering it. The flavor was great, lots of fish and tangy lime flavor, but it was hard to figure out how how eat and underwhelming. There are 8-10 more items I'd love to try on this menu; I appreciate that it's affordable for lunch, has very clean flavors and great service. Highly recommend overall!

Yelp
I definitely enjoyed my lunch at Casa Oaxaca today. We started off with the queso fundido, which had gooey cheese and fresh made tortillas and wow--amazing! I would come here for this queso alone. Then I ordered three different types of tacos--the shrimp, the fish, and the carne asada and these tacos were amazing and equally delicious. So fresh and tasty and I couldn't pick a favorite but the shrimp tacos were the best I've ever had. My husband ordered the pasole and chilaquiles. The pasole soup had homine and corn which was was very comforting and savory soup on this cold day. The chilaquilles were interesting since the tortilla chips were hard and usually they are soaked but the chicken was seasoned perfectly and very tender. My kids had the kids quesadilla off the kids meal, which included a drink for $6. The prices were reasonable and the food was delicious. It was surprising that we were only table in the restaurant but they did have a few carry out orders. There is parking on the street and a large bar with selection of alcohol, and two big screen tvs. I definitely recommend visiting Casa Oaxaca if you're in the mood for casual dining for tacos.

Yelp
Mediocre and disappointing. The name and the website suggested authentic flavors. The "street corn" tasted like corn from a can sprinkled with cheese and spice. Nothing like Mexican street corn. In all the dishes we ordered with chicken, the chicken was dry and appeared to be cooked long before service. I ordered Oaxacan Chicken Mole. The sauce was okay, but the chicken was dry and uneventful, not brined properly. It was drenched in sauce at dinner. I didn't just order the sauce. The waiter ignored the feedback. The manager was defensive and not receptive to the feedback. He said: "Have you been to Mexico?" (Yes, I have), He then said: I'm sorry you feel this way. No ownership, no interest in feedback, 100% confident - there is no chance for improvement with attitude like that. My overall impression - no one cares. They will have customers anyway due to location and it doesn't matter to them if the food is mediocre, it doesn't matter if you didn't have a good experience. Oaxan cuisine is great, but this restaurant does not represent it in any way.

Yelp
So it looks very authentically Mexican from the outside and maybe if I had more to eat it would've came off that way flavour wise as well. I did not have the tacos, my date did, and maybe that's why my experience left so much more to be desired. I loveeee ceviche - the fish ceviche was a Miss unfortunately. You make ceviche in lime and other spices - this was like a literal lime squeezed on some oversoaked fish - very sour. My drink unfortunately matched the vibe and was incredibly sour even though it looked beautiful. They went overkill on the lime and I LOVE lime - but they need to learn how to balance acidity for a pleasant experience. If I went alone, I would've rated it two stars but my date enjoyed the tacos - so it was okay. The waiters and staff are nice. The ambience is nice, the vibe is fun and the traditional Mexican decor is a plus. You do feel like you've stepped out of Bethesda for a while. I would recommend this place for after work drinks or a casual date but I personally did not enjoy the drinks so it wouldn't be my pick. Maybe it just wasn't my night there or what I ordered, but this was - okay.

Yelp
I came here with a friend on a weekday night and everything was so very average. I got the chicken quesadilla and my friend got the shrimp tacos. The chicken quesadilla tasted dry and flavorless and tasted worse than that of chipotle. The service was inattentive and the food average so I would probably not come back or recommend.

Yelp
Food and Drinks are amazing! Outdoor seating has heaters and it's so pretty! And the service was incredible! Everyone was so nice and everything came out super fast!!!

Yelp
Birria Tacos with consommé was the best. We tried several tacos, Octopus tacos were very tender and grilled steak tacos were delicious. Shrimp and fish tacos were ordinary. Grasshopper taco was okay, but not great. Try it once is enough. Very casual atmosphere, reasonable prices, good place to hangout with friends. Definitely will come back

Yelp
Mediocre Mexican food with painfully slow service that completely ruins the experience. My girlfriend and I were seated quickly with our reservation, but that's when the good service ended. We waited approximately 20 minutes just to order our drinks, and another 10 to order our food. An entire 30 minutes had gone by and we could now start the waiting process for our entrees. Our entrees arrived fairly quickly and the food was decent, with the Birria Tacos stealing the show (an easy 9/10). But the terrible service strikes again. We waited 20 minutes for our dessert menu, before attempting to hail down a waiter to give it to us. Another 10 minutes passed without any waiters even remotely walking in our general vicinity so we changed our strategy to getting the check as fast as possible. We tried to get the check and failed. 15 minutes later we finally got the check, and left within the next 5. In total, we unnecessarily waited 1hr 20 minutes. This experience alone made me realize how slow, terrible service can completely ruin a dining experience.

Yelp
What a terrific place to eat. We made reservations for indoor seating for 12 JULY 2024 and it was a great temperature inside. All the tacos were heaven and the kids finished up their quesadillas. I've had Guacamole many times and many places, their guacamole is the BEST I EVER HAD. I heard a few locals say that they go all the time. They have lots of outside seating but it was very hot the day I went like 96. This is a must try when you're in town. It's a 3 minute walk from the Marriott International HQ.

Yelp
This place absolutely sucks! I did not try the food (I am glad). We went there for HH, and they tried to sit us at all the places they didn't honor HH. The place was sad, empty and only 5 people at the bar, which was the only place where they serve for happy hour, and they had lots of waiters and waitresses by the bar and outside door doing nothing, but looking at us. Luckily, Bethesda is a place full of good restaurants and we left and ended up at Black's, where we got great food and excellent service. I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!

Yelp
First off -Amazing customer service! The ambiance is very nice inviting energy with delicious smells. I actively order the Pozole here and it's incredible . The birria tacos are next level and definitely authentically made. I enjoy the Mexican hot chocolate and the churros for desert! All yesses over here!

Yelp
This was my second time at Casa Oaxaca & I've absolutely loved it each time. The chicken tacos were so fresh and flavorful & the ceviche was to die for. My classic marg was nothing to write home about, but it still hit the spot on a hot night. Absolutely recommend for groups large & small.
