"At Casa Perbellini 12 Apostoli, Chef Giancarlo Perbellini orchestrates a concerto of sublime flavors and impeccable techniques, enriched by a sense of hospitality that promises gourmets an experience to remember. A native of the region himself, Perbellini is descended from a family of pastry chefs and has certainly mastered the craft: sesame wafers with sea bass tartar and licorice is just one of his stunning creations. The warmth of the whole team and the spectacular dining room will only enhance your unique experience." - The MICHELIN Guide

"Giancarlo Perbellini returns to his roots in this historic restaurant in his native city, where every chef from Verona (and possibly beyond) would like to work. The updated decor gives the restaurant even more appeal, as does the culinary style and philosophy showcased on three tasting menus – “Io e Silva”, which includes decidedly imaginative dishes and is dedicated to his wife; “Io e Giorgio”, dedicated to his mentor and former restaurant owner, which features more classic recipes; and, last but not least, the completely vegetarian “L'Essenza”. Special mention must be made of the wine list, which includes an extensive selection of French labels, of which both the sommelier and Giancarlo are huge fans. As a final attraction, make sure you find time to visit the Roman ruins in the basement." - Michelin Inspector

We were excited with the prospect of trying the only 3* Michelin restaurant in Verona. The food was creative. We had the creative menu which showcase some of chef’s unique offering. Personally it’s not the best 3* Michelin restaurant we have tasted. It does felt a little underwhelming. Last, I would say the experience didn’t wow us. We left knowing the restaurant could do more.

Incredibly amazing experience. We have been here three times and were stunned every single evening. From the menu, to the wine pairing and the service everything is exceptionally perfect. The chef’s table is an evening you won’t forget. Three Michelin stars are more than earned, we can’t recommend Casa Perbellini enough.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience here and I’m very glad we decided to splurge on our trip to Verona. The staff was attentive and cordial. Each course was a choreographed presentation and each piece was explained to us in English, which was much appreciated. We aren’t used to lengthy meals where we are from so a three hour dinner was new to us, but the pace was nice and allowed time to savor each bite. I didn’t count how courses there were but it was a lot, in a good way. Go easy on the bread, (not the focaccia, eat all of that!) if you are concerned about making it to the end. After dessert the chef came out to greet each table personally. We didn’t plan this ahead of time and I was amazed we were able to get a reservation at a 3 Star Michelin restaurant the day before, but I’m very glad we went for it. By far, this was the best meal we’ve ever had.

As it stands right now it may be one of the best restaurants in the world. What Perbellini and the team have accomplished here is a culinary spectacle. While the service may be a bit rough around the edges, some mistiming when serving or lack of towels in the toilet, the protagonist in 12 Apostoli is the food and the craftsmanship of the team. Each dish achieves the feeling of a hearty meal cooked my “la mamma” but with a millimetric perfection that will showcase traditional Italian cuisine with just the right amount of innovation. The only “defect” I was able to find was the fact that it was too much food. To what Perbellini laughed and said “The bread! It’s always the bread”. Who could resist those focacce crafted in heaven? With this, I invite you to explore this little back alley in Verona hiding this world wonder.

It took a few minutes before someone opened the door. Once inside the foyer then into the dining room, the color of the room and the thoughtful design of the table, begins your experience. This is a historic restaurant and the Chef buying it and continuing the quality of the restaurant is remarkable. There were 2 set menu choices for lunch. I should have gone with the traditional but chose the seasonal. While, interesting, perhaps I should have gone with the traditional. The wine recommendation was perfect. My only faux pas was forgetting to take the remainder half bottle with me. Would I return, yes and choose the traditional course.

Wow! We splurged one evening in Verona before we attended the Opera. We were not disappointed. We were seated in the kitchen area. It was a delight to watch art being made right before our eyes (and almost perfect silence 🤯). We did the Classic tasting menu. It was phenomenal. Each item was presented with perfect symmetry. There were so many favorites. The sea bass tartar with the licorice sauce was probably at the top for me. I could go on, but I’ll leave it by saying, if you want a true eating adventure, don’t miss Casa Perbellini. Great experience! (We were so stoked about the food we forgot to take pictures of each course.)

The best dining experience in the city of Verona and certainly in the province, I won't go any further but I can add that so far it was the best two-Michelin-starred restaurant I have ever tried. Giancarlo Perbellini is able to take his customers on a real journey of scents, aromas, textures, colours, flavours. Absolutely recommended is the X12 menu, which also includes a perfect wine pairing. If you come to visit the city of Verona you cannot miss this opportunity! I personally took the opportunity to share this moment with my fiancée and it has been one of our best memories so far

I read about a garlic intolerance issue at an Italian restaurant? You might as well be intolerant to olive oil, Mama-mia. Food was consistently top notch in quality and execution. Chef aims to bring out the natural sweetness of main ingredient. flavors are not bold but balanced and light with substance. The ‘Tomato’ spaghetti was on a different level. Pasta was cooked in clear tomato water, absorbing all its fragrant sweetness. The ‘tomato’ looking thing was an umami bomb. Service, without a hitch.
