Oaxaca's Hotels Know How to Stay Unique

"On the southern fringes of Puerto Escondido, along the Pacific coast of Oaxaca, Casa TO is an architectural statement: an austere beauty almost entirely composed of raw concrete, designed by architect Ludwig Godefroy with just a few economical gestures towards luxe comfort and Oaxacan tradition." - Mark Fedeli

The Very Best Hotels in Mexico, From Cabo to Cancún

"Little boutique hotel Casa To is made up of just nine bedrooms. But this is a property that's a step above the rest among the boho beach-bum hostels on this corner of the Pacific coast. The self-cooling brutalist design was the craftsmanship of architect Ludwig Godefroy..."

"On the southern fringes of Puerto Escondido, along the Pacific coast of Oaxaca, Casa TO is an architectural statement: an austere beauty almost entirely composed of raw concrete, designed by architect Ludwig Godefroy with just a few economical gestures towards luxe comfort and Oaxacan tradition. Pools wind through circular archways and guests lounge on terraced blocks; meanwhile the beach at Playa Zicatela, a highly regarded surf spot, is a few short blocks away. With just nine suites, no spa, no restaurant, and a bar open only on weekends, it’s a low-key escape — and it’s as sustainable as it is visually impactful." - Tablet Hotels

Casa TO completely blew us away. The lobby/ pool area is absolutely mesmerizing— definitely schedule some time to chill here and just take it all in. Our room was much bigger than expected (it looked on the smaller side in the pictures), with a private garden that was so peaceful we barely wanted to leave. What really made the stay special was the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly and attentive—they truly couldn’t do enough for us. From thoughtful care to amazing local recommendations, we felt looked after in every way. Glou Glou, the on-site restaurant, deserves its own review. Breakfast here is included for hotel guests, and all of the options are delicious. We especially looked forward to the different fresh juices every morning. Definitely make a reservation to do dinner here too. Yes, it’s on the pricier side for the area, but worth every penny. Both the wine and food were immense (it’s up there as the best meal I’ve ever had.) Despite a couple of brief power outages due to the weather (totally out of their control), the staff handled everything so smoothly that we hardly noticed a thing. If you’re heading to Puerto Escondido, I can’t recommend Casa TO enough. Can’t wait to return!

One of the most lovely boutique hotels I’ve ever stayed in, it was a perfect stay! It’s even more beautiful in person. The hotel is located about an 8 minute walk to town or 10 minute walk to the beach. Some is uphill and it is mostly dirt, just to be aware. With that said, it’s still a place I’d stay anytime I came to Puerto Escondido. The breakfast was amazing, the drinks were delicious, staff was so friendly, and rooms were great (beds so comfortable too!)

This property is lovely! We made very few plans for our stay in Puerto Escondido because we were content to spend most of our time lounging & reading by the pool. Great rooms & toiletries! Short walk to the beach (7 min). We were also able to have a very early check-in.

Location was stunning, the service was incredible and the food at the restaurant was phenomenal. If you’re looking for a little escape, Casa To is a great place to do that. The architecture was beyond beautiful and the atmosphere is very warm and inviting. The staff was super helpful, nice and eager to give you the best experience you possibly could have. I will be coming back soon for the little piece of my heart I left here!

Loved my stay at Casa TO! The hotel is absolutely stunning and the staff is so friendly. Flor at the front desk was so nice and accommodating, helping us get taxis to go exploring in town. Mario, the manager, had a ton of fun facts and helpful recommendations. Both were so fun to chat with while lounging in the lobby and pool. I also highly recommend booking Glou Glou for dinner. The food was so delicious we had a hard time not ordering the whole menu. And, the included breakfast with your stay really comes in handy and was also very good.

Casa TO is the best hotel we've ever stayed at, hands down, and we can't wait to come back. From the design, to the food, to the vibe, to the staff - everything was perfect from first to last! You arrive up a quiet road into an absolute oasis. There are so many delightful little touches, from the welcome drinks, to the beautiful scents, to the plants creeping over all the walls. For design lovers, the space is an absolute dream. The bedroom we had was also exceptional, from the huge bed, to convenient layout, to the huge window out onto the balcony. It was also all very clean. The staff/concierge cannot do enough to help out and make your stay special, but they are also very relaxed and unobtrusive. There's nothing stuffy or pretentious about the place, which helped to make our trip super relaxing. The breakfast also deserves a special mention - firstly for the gorgeous setting, but moreover for the fact that everything we ate was heavenly! The best French toast and the best cheese toasties we've ever eaten - no exaggeration. All the cocktails we had at the bar were also delicious, and quite reasonably priced, too. A huge thank you to Mario, Julieta, Angie, Juan and all the rest of the team for making it such a perfect experience for us ❤️ We would truly recommend Casa TO to anyone, and can't wait to come back.

Stunning architecture and really relaxing vibe, we really didn’t want to leave! The room was larger than the pictures show and it smelt amazing in there. The bed was huge and we slept really well. The staff were really friendly too and always happy to help

From the moment I arrived at Casa To, I knew I had discovered something special. This boutique hotel is an absolute sanctuary—elegantly designed, beautifully curated, and infused with a calm, serene energy that makes it hard to leave. The architecture and interiors are stunning—minimalist yet warm, with thoughtful touches throughout that reflect the local culture and landscape. My room was immaculate, with luxurious linens, artisanal decor, and a private terrace that offered the perfect spot to unwind. The staff at Casa To were exceptional—genuinely kind, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. Every recommendation they gave, from nearby restaurants to hidden beaches, was spot on. One of my favorite features was the tranquil pool area surrounded by lush greenery—perfect for a morning swim or a peaceful sunset moment. If you’re looking for a refined, relaxing experience with a sense of place and soul, Casa To is the place to be. I can’t wait to return!
