What a hidden gem!! Beautiful and bright, light blue color scheme gives the place a cheery but sophisticated atmosphere. I found it by accident. My mother is having knee surgery at St Lucie Hospital. I am from NY, unfamiliar with the area, so I googled Cacio e Pepe, and it popped up. The service was impeccable, the waiter- young fellow from Columbia, should've asked his name, was extremely professional, and the rest of the staff was very attentive, including Vincenzo and his wife.
We started with the stuffed zucchini flowers- not something I expected to find in a shopping center in PSL. They were very delicate, with a creamy ricotta based stuffing, crispy on the outside, on a bed of butternut squash matchsticks, dollops of fresh made pesto. TBH i am salivating just writing about it.
My dad had the grilled veal chop- surprisingly large, it was butter- tender, with a porcini mushroom demi-glace. He didn't finish it, and he asked to wrap it up- something he absolutely never does. I of course had the cacio e pepe pasta. It's a simple "peasant" dish- spaghetti, cheese, black pepper and a bit of the pasta water- but actually very tricky to make correctly. This version was made correctly- ultra creamy, just the right amount of pepper, and piping hot (because of the way it's made, it has to be served immediately, so at most places it comes out luke warm). We are looking forward to our next visit!!
NOTE TO THE RESTAURANT- with all due respect, "Casa Vincenzo's" may be your name but Google, where my review was posted and where I found the place, says it's Casa Vincenzo Ristorante, not me. You might want to correct that.
