Casey's New Orleans Snowballs

Been coming to Casey's for close to 30 years. They are now open late which is great for people not wanting to go out in the daytime heat. Thanks for solving for my sugar cravings 😋

We got our first snowcones of the year yesterday evening! During renovations, Casey's is serving it up Mister-Tastee-style from their truck on premises. I was positively delighted to discover that despite their "limited" menu due to the circumstances, they were still featuring the only three flavors that matter (cotton candy, pink lemonade, and wedding cake, obviously,) and my partner was still able to order his beloved Mangonada. After all these years, I still have yet to figure out how they manage to make their ice so unbelievably smooth and creamy. The texture is just divine, and the flavors are equally heavenly. It goes without saying that Casey's own✨️Nathan Gomez✨️provides the most pristine customer service, and his rad conversational skills are just as chill and sweet as the delicious treat. A visit to Casey's is always just downright delightful and an absolute pleasure. It'll always be one of our favorite spots in Austin. We friggin' love y'all, Casey's! 🤟

The best snowballs in Austin! They are - New Orleans style and fantastic shaved prefect ice with great flavor choices. I’ve been coming for so many years. They are open through the construction in the trailer on the side.

Casey's is a neighborhood favorite of ours, we love whenever they open up for the season. Casey's also served dessert at my wedding this year and they were a huge hit with guests and great to work with! Ask them about events, you won't regret it!

Casey's New Orleans Snowballs catered our 6th grade end-of-year celebration, and they were absolutely amazing! They brought a fun, flavorful menu with tons of variety and toppings the students loved. On top of that, they organized a snowball fight that had the kids smiling and laughing nonstop. I reached out on short notice, and Laura, their catering and events manager, responded quickly and made it happen. Huge thanks to the whole team—such a memorable experience for our students!

We love Casey’s! They have the best melt in my mouth ice and flavors! My two favorite ones are Orchid vanilla and pineapple with cream (trust me on that one 😉)

It's not a summer in Austin without a trip to Casey's! There's nothing better than a delicious snow cone when it's scorching hot outside and Casey's has the best around! They offer great flavors, stuffings, and toppings at a reasonable price with great customer service! FAST FACTS: *Parking - free street parking nearby *Hours - daily from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm but check their socials for the most up to date information because it could change SERVICE - The workers are always pleasant to interact with at the walk up window! PRICING - The total was $19.25 before tip for two medium snow cones ($7 each) with cheesecake stuffing ($1.50 each) and whipped cream ($0.75 each) with one having a sugar free flavor ($0.75). The snow cones are a large size so the pricing seems reasonable! My go-to is usually dreamsicle stuffed with vanilla soft serve (which is amazing) but this time I tried the seasonable pumpkin flavor with the cheesecake filling and whipped cream since that had been marketed on their social media. It was super tasty and I'd get it again! If you like snow cones, Casey's is your place in Austin! I've yet to have a negative experience in the 3 years I've been going and will always recommend Casey's to others!

Great snow cones! I got tigers blood, pineapple, and pink lemonade. We added ice cream in it and it wasn't for me to be honest. It was a weird balance for ice and cream (haha) When we got there, there was this huge line but it went quickly. When we got to the front I was a little confused by the menu and I asked the girl at the register to be honest she confused me more. The prices were kind of crazy for snow cones I got a small for $7 (including ice cream and tax) but It was okay because it's local. They were also a little outdated but it was only 50¢ more. I enjoyed the time there! Would go back :)

Wow! Great taste and even greater customer service!! The staff were super friendly and helpful. If you have allergies, please let them know, the allergen information from their supplier is very confusing and vague, but the staff are very willing to help. The ice is super fine! You can add soft serve at the bottom, but I honestly don't recommend. Since it is at the bottom of the cup, by the time you get to it, the ice and syrup has already melted so you can't really taste the ice cream. Flavors: a lottt of flavors so ask for samples! They even have special flavors of the month. They're all tasty! Especially their peach (strong and tastes real). The creamy flavors are thicker so the lady told us to let her know if we need more syrup as we eat. Again, very great customer service. No seatings, you walk up to the counter and order. But you can sit on the steps. Chill vibes! The only reason I gave them 4/5 is because of the portion size/price. I got XS for $5.75 ($5 for standard XS, $.75 for creamy flavors), which is considerably pricier than my frequent snowcone place (Snobeach). However, they do have unique flavors and it did remind of the ones I had in New Orleans so try it out y'all

I'm not much of a snow cone person, but this was surprising very delicious and refreshing! The x-small is a good size for a cool snack, and I got the blue coconut, mango, and strawberry flavors. I forgot what my friend got . There so many flavors to choose from, and it tastes really good with the dole pineapple soft serve! Service was quick, and there aren't any outdoor or indoor seating, but you can sit at the steps and enjoy the delicious snack!

Parking here at times could be a little limited but it's worth waiting for a spot to open up nonetheless. The snowballs here have hit the spot mostly every time as I've been here four times and maybe only once I didn't favor the flavor combo I concocted. I'm also pretty new to the snowcone world so I'm learning what I love and what I don't. The staff here is always a hit as they're all in a great mood, even helped me out once and put my phone on one of their chargers so I could use my GPS to get back home. Overall, I really love this place and seeing everyone leave happily with their snowballs. Can even tell they're pretty big to their neighbors as well considering on my way there I'd see little kids eating them on their bikes and skateboards, haha. Highly recommend!

I decided to try this out on a hot summer day here in Austin and loved it! These were the best snowballs I've ever had and the ice was very soft but crunchy. There is a line whenever you are here but it is a FANTASTIC FAVORITE. It took about 10-15 minutes to make our order and they made the snowballs in front of us. Definitely try this place out for your next summer treat!

Never disappoints! Go get yourself a summer sweet treat! They have many flavors and soft serve as well. Their pineapple Dole whip was super yummy!

The lines goes quick and ordering is easy! I got the medium size snow cone and you can get up to three flavors. I enjoyed the blue coconut flavor the most but I also tried pink lemonade and pina colada.

Amazing!!! They have twin windows open so it's speedy, they're also very nice and the snow cone was cold and with soft ice.

Perfect spot for a snow cone during the summer! They have a wide variety of flavors and the ice is soft and fluffy! I always get a small mango with sweet and condensed milk! Sometimes they have add ins like pineapple or cheesecake. Make sure to get their punch card if you think you will stop by often this summer! There isn't really anywhere to sit besides on the stairs in front.

The BEST place to go for if your wanting something to cool down! The staff was super amazing! They were kind and had great energy! Definitely will go back!

My goodness. This is just what I needed during this 100+ degree streak we're having. The line was backed up into the parking lot, so you know that's a good sign. The wait was pretty quick. I ordered the Boston cream pie snowball and could not believe how similar it tasted to my favorite dessert! I'll definitely be back to stay cool during this summer.

Well call me a meteorologist and put me on KXAN because today's forecast is sunny with a side of SNOWCONE. Ordered the most DIVINE rainbow flavor wif strawberry, pineapple, and blue raspberry syrup on the fluffiest pow. A new summer staple!

Oh my goshhhh, when it's 100+ every single day these snowballs are just perfectttt. I got a size small and it was huge couldn't finish it. It was very tasty and they have lots of flavor options plus top pics and soft serve. You order at a window and I don't think they have seating but we sat on the steps just fine.

This place is great! I have not had better shaved ice anywhere. They offer a large variety of flavors, and the service is friendly. Five Star all the way.

They perfected that simple classic Snow cone. Perfectly shaved "Snow" and the perfect amount of syrup. They don't hold shy of the syrup what's so ever .

Casey's has been around since the 90's and is a well established spot for summer cool downs. It's open seasonally and the line was loooong as people had been waiting all winter for it to re-open to get their fix. They have so many flavors and while I could have ordered multiple, I decided to go with root beer and added froyo which was an excellent choice imo because it reminded me of a root beer float. The staff were very cool and my friend ordered multiple flavors and a lemonade made in house. I would definitely come back, especially on a hot day when the Texas sun is out.

Went to Snowbola and was very upset as you can see in the first picture..... ended up finding this place and we were very happy!!

We arrived and had to wait a little while, but the line moved quickly. The young lady at the front was so helpful and assisted us with figuring out what flavors we wanted. We were able to try a few flavors to ensure we were excited and pleased with what we were ordering. We ordered three: 1. Orchid cream vanilla and Grandma's nectar cream with extra cream added. 2. Strawberry Cheesecake with extra cream, I think? 3. Strawberry, wedding cake, and another flavor with cream. We were satisfied and cooled off quickly after a hot, blistering summer day!

A refreshing treat! While the line was long, Casey's was well worth the wait. I chose the peach, strawberry, and clear coconut flavors, which went very well together. Also, I loved how soft the ice was! While I really like sweet desserts, a few of my friends thought that it was too sweet. I would also add that it's a bit pricier than some other snowcones I've had - $5.25 for a small, $6.25 for a medium.

The best summer treat! With all these hot humid days in Austin - Casey's does not miss. You can't go wrong with any of the flavors here! This little hidden gem off of airport is def worth the line. They are pretty quick to make the snow cones and they have soo many flavors to choose from! I also love that the syrups aren't super sugary where your teeth feel gritty! They have pineapple dole whip that you can add on - 10/10 recommend doing this! If you're an adult I recommend getting the size small and opt out if x-small, it's worth the extra .50 for the size up as they are significantly different. I wish they had some sort of insulated cups, because the plastic cups they serve it in make the snow cone melt quickly!

A snowball is an essential tasty treat for hot summer days. I find snowballs to be more soft and fluffy than a snow cone or shave ice. Casey's fits the spot located near a busy of 51st and airport. You'll normally see a line in front of the stand (it's more like a house with a porch than a stand). There are lots of syrup combinations. I think up to 3. Even sone sugar free and specialty ones throughout the season. The rainbow is very picture friendly. You can even add some soft serve to give it a creamy texture. As for parking there's a gravel lot and street parking. If you are turning left here from 51st it might be a little tricky during rush hour. I suggest trying to end up on the right side or find a back road in - but that's the fun of driving here. Note: they are very generous with the syrup they make sure that it covers all the ice and even poke a hole or two to make sure it coats everything.

Looks just like a snowball stand back home!! Very simple, colorful and laid back. The ice is so soft and smooth it melts like cotton candy. There a bunch of flavor options like tigers blood, and pina colada, wedding cake and all the rest. I am so mad that I just found this place... they will be closing for winter break in November (although it probably saved me a few pounds)

You know when spring is officially here when Casey's opens shop! This is a tiny shack with a rainbow of flavored ices inside! From the common flavors to the outrageous...they'll mix and match ya till it's just right. Be ready to hang out in the porch and bring that cash! We love it when Casey's New Orleans Snowballs blow in!

The best place on earth if it's hot. Better than a pool. Thank the lord this is in Texas. It would be good anywhere though! Staff is great and would be an awesome place to work if in college or just out. 10/10 recommend. Get your snowball stuffed with ice cream and don't overlook their creamy flavors! My son goes with the rainbow every time. Me, I'm a dill pickle guy. Please don't knock it until you try it! They have a ton of toppings and on hot days a line around the block. I do wish they would bring back their 'order ahead' feature but whatever, if I have to wait 10 minutes in the heat, I know I'm going to be cool on the other side.

Yum! I'm so glad to have Casey's as a cool option nearby. I usually order a small and even that is more than plenty. Some of the flavors are too sweet for my liking but I absolutely love the orchid cream vanilla. A hands down favorite and such a beautiful lavender hue. There's often a line, even during odd hours, but it just gives you more time to finalize your order. The workers are pleasant and prepare the treats in sight. Due to the sugary syrups, there are often many bees buzzing around so a heads up to anyone particularly averse.

Real shaved ice! Lots of flavors and add-ins. Perfect for an after the pool snack! They were so nice and cared about the cones. She literally was picking at the ice to make sure it was the perfect shape before adding syrup. That's detail work. Keep it up!

This place is an awesome spot to beat the heat! So many flavors and variations to choose from! I absolutely love that you can add soft serve too. I got the Mango with Chamoy and vanilla soft serve. It was so so delicious! This Texas heat is no joke so do yourself a favor and save yourself from the heat at Casey's! Also parking is super easy in the back and the service was super nice !

Staff could not care less, just goofing off in the back while there is a long line of people waiting. A girl who was clearly friends with the workers cut in front of us and continued to have a 20 minute long conversation while others were waiting. Snocones are good, just need better customer service.

Loved this place, and would def come back! The service is really nice, and there's so much to keep coming back and try. It's kinda stand outside, or togo which is good to be mentally prepared on a hot day.

The staff is polite, and this is always the key to a 5-star rating. The snocone I tried was strawberry cheesecake with a scoop. The flavoring was not some super sugary sludge. It was a fruit, creamy combo that didn't leave me running for a glass of water after finishing it. The ice cream was also just sweet enough to enjoy the blend of the shaved ice, and fluffy textures. I highly recommend this stand to beat heat!

My sister brought us by on our trip to Austin and we were not disappointed! The ice was smooth and the flavors were yummy. My daughter got her usual blue coconut with cream, I got the pickle juice flavor. There were some basic flavors that seemed to be missing from the menu, but they did have other options you can't find anywhere else!

I had a pink lemonade snow ball from Casey's at a UT Austin event and it was super refreshing and satisfying. I was impressed by how well it stayed frozen. Can't wait to visit!

Extra small is all you need. The small is too much for one person. It's so sweet. There is too much flavoring. It would be really nice if they wiped down the sides with a wet rag because it's so sticky on the sides.

Decided to make a quick stop at Casey's after an evening on the water in Austin. This was such a cute little place. Fast service done right in front of you. Plenty of flavors for everyone. Loved my flavor. Not too much parking but still quick and easy.

It's SO good! Loved the strawberry with the vanilla soft serve. We ate sitting on the steps, otherwise this is a grab and take with you sort of place. The flavors are 10/10, and consistency so good. We'll def be back again.

I used to frequent the original location in Metairie, LA often and this Austin location is just as good! They are working through covid by requiring online orders so there isn't a long line outside. It's hard to find a true snowball with the "melt-in-your-mouth" ice. Shaved ice seems more common around these parts and I hate shaved ice. It's doesn't soak up the good juice. This is the real deal for a New Orleans snowball in Texas. Do yourself a favor and go and it doesn't need to be a hot day. Don't you eat ice cream in the winter too? Just a thought in case you needed the lil extra push to try it.

It was AMAZING!!! I got a small (12oz) with soft serve stuffed inside for $6.00. Lime, cherry, and mango flavored syrups. I love how generously they pour the syrup and how friendly the staff is. The ice was soft and not crunchy, and the soft serve was delicious and creamy! I'll be back for sure. I don't like how they charge extra for "creamy" flavors tho :/

Oh my gosh. I LOVE Casey's snowballs. I'm sad they are seasonal. I live extremely close and my pup and I will walk to get a treat. The staff is so nice! They also required masks while in line which I appreciated. I can not wait for them to re-open! Favorite flavors? Root beer. Cherry and lime. Orange and cream. Bubblegum and cherry.

This place is a gem. The bad part is once you have it it's hard not to go everyday! There are so many flavors and combinations that you want to try them all. The ice is so soft and smooth and the way they layer the flavors makes sure you get flavor in every bite. The staff is also always friendly and the kitchen is always so well organized and clean. Don't forget to get a punchcard and sign up for their mailing list. Sometimes they'll send out some coupons.

Gotta say, never knew snow cone ice could be so soft and fluffy. I know these "New Orleans" type, but never had a snow cone this fluffy before. This might be typical in New Orleans but it's a first for me. You can get them with their locally made custard inside the ball. Unfortunately I didn't try the custard nor did I see where you could order the custard by itself. A small, which is 8oz is a bit over $3. So the place isn't cheap. However I had a few bites of my son's and was instantly a fan. Normally I could care less about eating a snow cone. Next time I'll get my own or a bigger size and split it.

A wonderful icy treat to quench your thirst on a hot and sunny day! I ordered an extra small snow cone with tiger blood syrup and sugar-free blue raspberry syrup. The tiger blood syrup tasted like coconuts and was very delicious. The sugar-free blue raspberry syrup tasted like what you would expect. The ice in the snow cones had a finer grind than expected though. The parking lot was heavily unpaved which made parking somewhat difficult. Wished they had tables for seating. They required a mask, so make sure to bring one!

I love the concept of having a "stuffed" sno cone! The dole whip soft serve was very yummy and the ice is the texture of bahama b's so I was super happy with that! Weirdly my husband and I both got headaches after eating these so maybe be prepared for a sugar headache? Definitely would have again, solid place in Austin!

Casey's is truly a local icon and I'm so happy that they're part of our neighborhood. A fabulous treat on a hot, hot Austin day. You really can't go wrong with any of the flavors, but my favorites are the orchid cream vanilla, Boston cream pie, and watermelon & pineapple with chamoy. SO GOOD. Casey's did a wonderful job adapting to mobile ordering during Covid, but I'm so glad that in person ordering is back because the staff is always super friendly. There's a gravel parking lot behind the shop and there's plenty of street parking as well on the busy days.
