"Watching restaurants open in London is a bit like being at secondary school. Something new gets introduced, and everyone from national papers to bloggers to your mate who hashtags their food pics with #noms is all over it like Gretchen Wieners with a horrible case of FOMO. That was the case with Ceviche when they started serving excellent Peruvian food in Soho in 2012, until everyone decided to move onto the new thing, and it was somewhat similar with Casita Andina, which opened from the same owners in 2016. But thinking of Casita Andina as a one-time fad would be a mistake - this is a restaurant you should be returning to. Casita Andina serves modern takes on Peruvian dishes, which means you’ll find things like a seafood chupa (chowder) remixed and presented as an attractive dish topped with fat prawns, or a traditional ceviche with interesting additions like pork dashi. Even straightforward, familiar dishes like lamb loin are taken to a new level with the addition of Peruvian spices. Wash all of it down with a few pisco sours, and you’re in business. photo credit: Karolina Wiercigroch The vibe here is upbeat without feeling too crazy - you could happily bring a few mates to Casita Andina for a lively night, or for a date with someone that you already know you click with. The setup of the restaurant in a narrow Soho townhouse is interesting too, as squeezing through the tight stairways or popping onto the small outdoor terrace makes you feel like you’re in on a good time that most of the city hasn’t cottoned onto yet. The fact that the majority of people haven’t cottoned onto it is a good thing. It nails so many of the elements that make for a good night out in Soho, and we’re cool with people queueing for kati rolls and toaster strudels if it means that we can walk straight in and grab a table here. Don’t tell Gretchen. Food Rundown Tamales In this city, if you ever have the opportunity to eat a good tamale, jump all over that sucker. Don’t share it. Watermelon and Quinoa Salad They’ve infused cubes of watermelon cubes with chilli, and topped it off with a lemony dressing and some quinoa. Despite sounding a bit strange, it’s incredibly refreshing. Ceviche Casita For anyone new to Peruvian food, we’d definitely suggest starting here. The house ceviche is slices of raw seabass marinated in a citrus dressing that very lightly ‘cooks’ the fish. It’s light and punchy, with the chunky pieces of fish working great with the crunch from the little pieces of corn. There is also avocado. Trout Tiradito Little cubes of raw trout with a sharp dressing, salty little dollops of trout caviar, and sweet potatoes. A nice option if you want some more raw fish. photo credit: Karolina Wiercigroch Chupe Seco: If you’re in a big group, make sure there’s at least one of these per two people, as it’s weird trying to slice up a single prawn to share. It’s essentially a traditional seafood stew that they’ve presented beautifully, with a sliced section of corn to get your teeth into. The sauce has serious flavour. photo credit: Karolina Wiercigroch Maca Lamb Loin: This has stayed on the menu since the restaurant opened for a reason. You can be healthy and happily eat vegan, pescatarian, or gluten-free at Casita (Peruvian food is great for all of these), or you could just order a fatty, salty piece of meat that tastes awesome. Your call. Strawberry and Avocado Pot: This dish is a fun take on strawberries and cream. There’s avocado literally all over the menu, but here it’s included for texture. It’s a nice way to finish your meal." - David Paw

Wow! If you consider yourself a foodie in any way you have to go here. The flavors are amazing and different in every dish. A group of five of us went here before the theater. We ordered everything the waitress recommend and she did not steer us wrong in the slightest. My favorites were the house ceviche and the lamb tapas. The pisco sours were also incredible. The food was delivered in a timely manner and we did not come close to missing our show.

Google
I have previously visited Casita Andina's sister restaurant, Ceviche which I was very impressed with. So I was interested to see how the would compare. We had the nine course sharing menu which in short was a fantastic mix of flavours, textures and very well balanced. Highlights were the pork belly bites, very addictive. Both the salmon and sea bass Ceviche which were fresh, generously portioned and a lovely mix of tart, sour and heat. The pisco sours also deserve a mention, my first time trying and certainly not my last. The restaurant itself was homely and full of art and photography celebrating Peruvian culture. The staff were great and introduced each dish well. Highly recommended.

Google
We had a wonderful time at Casita Andina, our waitress was helpful and kind, the food was very interesting and we liked everything that we tried that night. We can't vouch for authenticity as it was our first time eating Peruvian food but we really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Would definitely go back.

Google
Octopus was excellent! Really tender on the inside, slightly smokey flavour. The ceviche and pork belly were done well but weren't particularly impressive. Watermelon salad was refreshing on a hot summer's day. Overall good meal, but won't be my go-to peruvian place.

Google
Very nice food, friendly service, quick to get the food and generous portions. The pork bites were a highlight, with a sweet tangy sauce and crisp skin. Would definitely recommend to all.

Google
Really delicious and pretty foods. Avocado fritters and classic ceviche were particularly yum! Everyone there was very kind and friendly, always with big smiles 😄 Don't worry if you don't understand the exotic menu, they are more than willing to kindly explain and make suggestions..!

Google
Such a lovely place to have lunch at when around Piccadilly Circus area. The food was absolutely fabulous. . I had the braised aubergine and my partner had a chicken dish. The food tasted so good, and I discovered new tastes. 5/5 easily, altho portions could be little bigger 😁.

Google
Really good lunch menu where you can pick 2 dish for £10, so ideal if you go with some friends at lunch time. Nice flavours and dishes including chicken, lamb pork etc. Probably if I was going to go a la carte would rate 3 star since ea have dish is around 7/10£ so not that worth.

Yelp
My colleague and I were absolutely thrilled that we stumbled upon Casita Andina as we were searching for a place to have dinner tonight, and we were blown away. Walking into the spot, it's a classy and exotic restaurant that features Peruvian style cuisine, and the experience was exemplary. Seated immediately, we were taken care of very efficiently, provided with menus to take a look at and decide what we want, and we decided to try a variety of things. We got all of the items listed below, and they were all incredibly good. Delicious flavor on each and every one of them. My buddy even said the Hummus was the best hummus he's ever had in his life, hands down, and we are from New York and live in Los Angeles so bravo. The corn fritters were delicious as well, the cocktail was brilliantly made, the eggplant and quinoa was delicious and super filling, Feta and Sauce was a nice touch. This spot is a TOTAL 5 star restaurant, and we cleared through the place for a total of 65 pounds. Very do-able for such a classy joint.

Yelp
This member of the Ceviche family restaurants was on our short list when we planned our recent trip to London. We didn't think we would have enough time to dine here during our culinary focused action packed trip. But it was conveniently around the corner from the Ham Yard hotel where we stayed and we strolled in late on a Saturday night after a long day of touring. They greeted us warmly and sat us upstairs promptly even though we didn't have a reservation and it was late and quite packed. The owner made some cocktail recommendations and I settled on the pisco sour and my husband had a spicy drink, I think it was the karay. Both were delicious. For the record, I am not typically a cocktail girl as they're often cloyingly sweet and not well balanced, but these drinks were spot on. We started with all three ceviches...the artichoke vegetarian one and the tuna and sea bass versions. The artichoke dish was very interesting and a bit surprising but tasty nonetheless. The sea bass was delish and the tuna kind of what you'd expect, but solid as well if not overly inspired. I had a salmon entree and hubby had the grilled octopus, both were very good. We really wanted to try the "Andean mess" for dessert..we saw several pass on by to the neighboring table but we were quite full. I would definitely try upon return. In summary, the service and high quality fresh ingredients really make this place a great dining destination. The entrees are not quite as inspired as I would have expected which is why I didn't award the fourth star. But all in all, this Peruvian establishment has service that really cares and food that works well. I would definitely come back or try one of their other establishments.

Yelp
Peruvian food for Brunch ? Why not! The place itself is nice and comfy. Since it is small, it is better to book a table, especially during weekends. Brunch time was not too crowded fortunately. The service was ok but not fantastic. It was quite slow, two of my friends waited a long time to be served ( we were having desserts when they were eating their main !!!) If you go there it is only for their ceviche! I chose the seabass one and I was not disappointed at all! It was delicious But the rest of the food... quite pricy for what it is! I ordered the poached eggs on avocado toasts: the poached eggs were too cooked and the yolk was not running, the sourdough toast was kinda chewy and not tasting very good I enjoyed the time spent with my friends there but I do not think I will go again...

Heather P.

Yelp
I had an early lunch from their Spring Weekend Menu that consisted of the tamale, the ceviche Andina, and a glass of their chichero. The tamale was a slightly sweet offset to the ceviche which made for a great combination. The sweet potatoes and crunchy corn puffs (?) brought some balance to the acidic ceviche. Gr he presentation of their food is beautiful and my eyes were satisfied before even heaven taken a bite; and of course the flavors dmisnt disappoint. I went upon opening and didn't have to wait to be seated or have to wait long for my food. The service was great and patient as I took entirely too long to narrow down my selection to a realistic number of dishes I could actually eat. I'll have to go back to try the others. I recommend sitting in their window seats if you have a small party, it's a nice place to people watch. Happy eating!

Tamara S.

Yelp
This place was delicious. It's a tapas style Peruvian restaurant and the dishes are ... wow. My favorite of what I got was the sea bass ceviche - I've never had sea bass for ceviche and it was very interesting, spicy, and perfect. It's tapas style, so just get one of each plate

Sanam A.

Yelp
Eclectic, fun, and fresh menu. Tapas style. Lots of different flavors in every bite! (Including pop rock candies in the chocolate dessert). Great service. We followed the recommendations of our waitress and were very impressed. I came with one friend and we had 2 cocktails, 6 tapas, and a dessert. We paid 78 pounds. We had the aubergine fries, avocado fritters, puka picante, bistec pachamanca, watermelon & black quinoa salad, and the ceviche casita (with seabass). For dessert, we had the choco sauco. Incredible! We were very satisfied at the end. Highlights were the quinoa salad, bistec, the puka picante, and the dessert. The fried avocado & eggplant werent anything special. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Whoa. I've never had Peruvian quite like this before. My aunt recommended this place for a light lunch and they delivered an exceptional experience. The interior reminded me of home in Austin, but the food was unlike anything you can get there. We started with the aubergine fries and nuts. I'd pass on the nuts if I went back, but the fries were oddly light for a fried food. They were paired with a tangy sauce that went perfectly. The next course consisted of the salmon, ceviche and burnt orange salad. All three were delicious. The salmon was a bit too acidic, but it contrasted the sweetness of the salad fine. The salad was my favorite part of the entire meal. We don't get pea shoots stateside, so having them was a real treat. Lastly we ordered the chicken dish, tamal and pork belly. Honestly by the end I was too full to properly enjoy these, but all three rocked. The pork belly had a beautiful piece of cracklin on top which gave it a complex texture and the tamal was spicy, but tasted of real corn. It was a completely satisfactory course. This is a great stop if you aren't used to Peruvian cuisine. Everything was on point and I'd definitely go back if I visit Soho again!

Yelp
Peruvian food at its coziest! For those familiar with the Martin Morales brand will know that this is the newest of his venture. I have now try all of them (Ceviche, Andina and Casita Andina) Casita Andina is a compromise between The 1st two and its really delicious not all dishes are great but its forgivable as the best dishes are sooo tasty! We ordered a bunch of different plates to share: as starters we had the pork and liver corquettes (nice abd very meaty) and the aurbergine fries (not the best I would skip it) Then the main plates: we had the scallop ceviche (very good), puka picante (great if you like beetroot), tuna ceviche (which resemble a tartare very good), the classic ceviche (not my fav, ive had better), Casita ceviche (again good nothing special), Causa trujillana (super good a must order), the snoked duck leg (sooo delicious a must order), the Maca Lamb (as well a must order), tamal (not really impressed by that one) and Almejas al rocoto seasonal (although the clams were not super strong in taste I found the spicy sauce quite addictive so I would recommend this dish as well) For desserts we tried the purple corn panacotta (i didnt like the texture, it was too set but the pineapple chips were really good). The other dessert was Dulce de leche con cafe and it was absolutely fab a must order, think Peruvian version of a tiramisu The cocktails are quite good as well I thought their picso is not as good as at Ceviche or Chotto Matte but I tried 2 other cocktails which I would highly recommend. If you want a boozy one pick La Canica and of you want a refreshing one pick Altiplano! I will be back!!!!

Yelp
Bit of an odd experience here. The downstairs level is really tiny, so we asked if it would be okay if we just had drinks, as we didn't want to take up a table unnecessarily (the bar was full). First server said yes, it would be no problem. She may not have communicated that to the second server. Second one took our drink order, then asked us three times if we planned to order food; she seemed exasperated that we only ordered drinks. After our drinks came, I told the second server that we would happily move to the bar if seats became available. This did not seem to placate her. I expected the pisco sour to knock my socks off, as this resto is known for their pisco cocktails. It didn't, and it was a very small portion to boot. Service charge is automatically tacked onto the bill. Not sure that we would return to try the food based on our experience.

Yelp
Went to the opening night of this restaurant which is from Martin Morales who brought us Ceviche and Andina restaurants I didn't know what to expect as ceviche and andina have such distinct identities and not sure where a third spin off would fit As with all his restaurants I was surprised and satisfied again! The restaurant itself feels great with lots of Peruvian art showcased and a nice cosy feel I tried all the Ceviches with all above par and my favourite was the the house special Ceviche Casita Andina which was unique, good portion an amazing aji sauce and made with amazing top quality fish. The hot food is also good with the pork tamales served on a corn leaf a favourite. My fiancée is Peruvian and in her word she said "it's like how my mother made it"! The pisco sour was like all the other restaurants of Martin morales and that's great because it's the best you will get I. London I didn't give it five stars because the original Ceviche restaurant is still the best and closest to mine and my fiancée heart. But go! It's joins the Champion League of Peruvian restaurants in London!

Dahokolomoki Z.

Yelp
We were hungry and between the two of us, ordered 5 dishes to share. The highlights were the ceviche - great modern twists to the traditional ceviches, and utterly delicious. Not the other dishes were a letdown, they were equally good. The icing on the cake? Amazingly fast service. One of the fastest order-to-plate-on-table I've had in London, which is great if you're in for a quick meal or pre-theatre. Value for money I would say it is slightly more expensive than I think it was worth. This place definitely won't make it into any value-for-money or hidden gem shortlists. But for the quality of food and speed of service, I would consider coming here again.

Sophie L.

Yelp
Another Peruvian for the list! Sister restaurant to one of my favourites, Andina, has opened Soho's Casita Andina. Only being open a couple of days, the staff were super welcoming and thankful that we had chosen to dine with them. Lovely interior, feels like you are at a friends house. Fun bar area on the first floor, and a bigger dining room on the second floor. Big windows, and lots of natural light. Attentative waitstaff all evening, and quick service. The menu is diverse, with plenty of vegetarian/vegan/gluten-free options. I will come back soon as there were so many more dishes I want to try. Started with the Cruditos - crunchy asparagus, carrots, zuchinni, pancha chilli, anchovy salt with an avocado dip. Beautifully presented, great appetizer. All the vegetables were fresh, and the avocado dip was acidic with a nice kick to it. My friend had the Ceviche clasico - sustainable seabass, classig tiger's milk, sweet potato. I've tried this at Andina in Shoreditch and Ceviche in Soho before, and as always, a perfect ceviche! The Cobia tiradito - farmed black kingfish, pineapple tiger's milk, nori, chilli dust was my favourite of the evening. The kingfish had a great bite to it, and the slight heat from the chilli was delicious. As I'm not a meat eater, I didn't try my friend's Mollejas - lamb sweetbreads, in a coriander and dark bear sauce with peanuts, carapulcra potatoes. This dish looked comforting and smelled amazing when it came out. Our waiter recommended the Choco-sauco for dessert - Peruvian Alto El Sol chocolate ball, elderberry gel, chocolate crumble, elderflowers. Again, amazing presentation. The chocolate ball was filled with even more chocolate, and the chocolate crumble tasted like coco pops. Such a fun dish with so many different textures - any chocolate lover would be happy with this.

Carolina M.

Yelp
Went there in the opening week. The dishes were really good, specially the ceviche and chicken. My friend loved the salmon and the black pudding. The only thing that wasn't that great was the avocado fritters. Cocktails are pretty good as well, specially the pink sour. The service was awesome and the 50% offer made it really cheap. Definitely I will go back!

Sean C.

Yelp
There are just too many tables wedges into this small restaurant. I get that it is fairly casual but if you are sat against the wall you actually have to ask you neighbours to move their table to get in or out. We ordered cocktails to start which actually arrived after our second starter arrived! The food is very good with a big whack of chilli! The pork was delicious and beautifully cooked.

Marie M.

Yelp
My first time trying Peruvian food, and I wasn't disappointed. The staff were friendly and attentive. The menu isn't too large or overwhelming. The pork belly was soft and cooked beautifully, but if you try one thing on the menu, make sure it's the tuna ceviche - absolutely divine. I loved every mouthful. I'm looking forward to returning and trying out the rest of the menu.

Richard M.

Yelp
This food is so nice. But sadly they have no ketchup also they only do the ice cream if you have the kids menu. But it is really nice also the food is cheap but top notch. If you want something good value but tasty (for a special night) go here. From Richard's son aged nine

Anne R.

Yelp
We tried this place as a change from our usual choices. Nice atmosphere. Very flavorful, unique dishes. We enjoyed the ceviche and everything we ordered. Good wine, friendly staff, fairly fast service, reasonable prices for Soho. We really enjoyed our meal and highly recommend. (Both pictures were taken after we started eating).

Mary M.

Yelp
Walked in off the street and I'm glad we did. Service was great and food was excellent. Peruvian food!

Paul S.

Yelp
This was my first visit to Casita Andina, as I was invited to a travel function luncheon by one of the tour operators I deal with. It was also the first time I've ever eaten Peruvian food. As we were served many delightfully different and flavoursome dishes from an unseen menu, I was prepared to try everything, which I am so glad that I did. We were served: Starts Cancha corn nuts, avocado fritters and crudiots Main Panca chilli-marinated cauliflower, Aji de gallina, Salmon escabeche, classic ceviche Dessert Strawberry and avocado pot The food was amazing and full of flavour, and the service was excellent. Staff were warm, friendly and inviting. To be honest, I'd never have even thought to try Peruvian food before, partly because I didn't know what it consisted of, but boy am I glad I did. I'd go back again for sure and recommend anyone to try out this amazing cuisine.

Aixita B.

Yelp
Excellent quality of food, good service and fresh ceviche. Nice hot kitchen and very very cool and creative new dishes every season. Book in advance because it can be packed during weekends. Happy pisco sour tasting :)

Jonas G.

Yelp
Great place in an part of town that has its fair share of tourist traps. The wood was absolutely amazing. Good ingrediens and great flavours. We samples a bunch of their smaller dishes and would recommend them all. The atmosphere of the 2 level place is also great and definetly adds to the experience. Also good for vegetarians

Mary E.

Yelp
What a hidden gem! Absolutely everything we had was delicious. Our favorite was the lamb - best lamb I've ever had. Casita Andina is a sleeper cell for sure.

Ronan F.

Yelp
Fantastic food, fantastic service. All I can say is wow. Walked about 10 miles today and this was the perfect place to take a respite. Delicious, will be back for sure

Carlos V.

Yelp
Food was amazing and drinks are to die for. Ambiance is cool and chic and service is amazing .... will re

Jennifer S.

Yelp
I want to give this place five stars but the food to price ratio is just so poor. Service is also middling. I was here last night as part of the Times Out voucher special, which included a drink and three ceviches for a tenner. You are not told however what drinks and ceviche is included which is just odd. Nor was I provided a menu when I was seated. A pisco arrived however, shortly after and it was DELICIOUS: frothy, sweet and potent. The ceviches as it turned out included a pork one which I couldn't eat as a pescatarian. When I told the waiter, he looked at me blankly and then said "You'll have to ask" when I asked to switch to a veg option. But he turned away as I asked, "who do I ask?". Uhhhh ok. Thankfully another waitress whisked it away and replaced it shortly with a veg option. All the ceviches were therefore delicious but SO tiny. I also got a side of the aubergine fries- whilst the honey sauce is divine and the fries are not too crispy and delicious- again that serving size is so tiny even 3 quid is a crime to pay. No server asked how my food was, did I want anything else, etc. I noticed the table next to me that did not have a voucher for more attention, which speaks poorly to staff training. Too much money for small portions.

Jeremy B.

Yelp
Nice place for Peruvian food near the West End theaters. Friendly staff. Not so many options that it's overwhelming, but enough to keep it interesting for everyone. The cantaloupe salad and ceviche andina were especially good. And the deserts - get desert(s).

Ray G.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, and delicious ceviche, fish plates, drinks. Peruvian nouvelle cuisine.

Joe M.

Yelp
By the end of our 2 weeks in London, we were pretty much done with searching for restaurants that didn't have lines out the door. I'd read about Casita Andina, and really wanted to try it. Every time I tried to get reservations, though, the only open slots were before 6 or after 9:30. On our way to Whole Foods to grab something to make dinner with, we passed Casita Andina and decided to give it a shot, They had a tiny table upstairs, outside, on their patio. We took it. Everything is small plates, so if you're on a budget, use care in ordering. We had the avocado fritters They were like nothing I've ever tasted before, and were quite delicious. We ordered the Tamal. They were good, but nothing special. Puka picante came next. Good. Finally, the pork shambar, also good.

David S.

Yelp
Best Ceviche in town! When you land to London, skip Madame Tousaud museum and come here directly!

Ravi M.

Yelp
Great pisco sours. Food is delicious and beautifully served. Good for small groups. Scallops are good. Maybe skip on the baked tuna. Don't miss duck dishes. Will come back!

Shaahin G.

Yelp
Food was amazing. Highly recommend the yuccas and the bistec was delicious as well. Of course you can't forget the amazing pisco sours. The passion fruit was my favourite over the strawberry one. Definitely a must try next time you're down for a little Peruvian. ;)

Shona S.

Yelp
I went to Casa Andita earlier today with two colleagues, for a meeting. The two waitresses who served us were friendly, efficient, prompt and cheerful and the place looked beautiful. But the food - croquettes and a sort of battered avocado thing, then a classic ceviche, then sweetbreads for one colleague and pork with lentils for me - was extremely bland. The pork was fatty all the way through, plain white fat in a slab, and the meat itself was dry and chewy. My second colleague's dish, puka piccante, arrived 10 minutes later than the others. My lentils were mushed up chickpeas, and everything was under-seasoned. We all fell silent while we ate and concluded that the food was 'fine'. One staff member was a guy, around 32, in a dark blue linen shirt and linen trousers which suited the aesthetics of the restaurant, was friendly and charming. He heard us talking about the flan on the lunch dessert menu and saying it'd be nice to share. 'That one is really nice,' he said, 'I would definitely go for that one, it's really good.' We ordered three coffees - and added that we'd like the flan to share and the guy said, with a little edge of attitude, 'Yeah, I heard that bit.' The flan never arrived. On our way out he breezily bid us goodbye and my colleague joked to him, 'The flan would have been good. It never arrived.' The man stared at her in hostile silence for several seconds, and then answered back, again in a taunting tone, 'But you didn't have to pay for it.' She replied, 'But it would have been good to have it.' To which he only smirked. Moral: watch out for bland food and cocky male waiting staff who speak tauntingly to women and don't know how to apologise when they take a food order that goes straight out of their head 10 seconds later.

Ashley D.

Yelp
We love going out for tapas so we can try a little of everything and this was a great find in the SoHo neighborhood. Everything tasted so fresh and the flavors were bold and creative. The cocktails were equally as delicious. Will definitely return on my next visit to London!

Ben D.

Yelp
We passed by here randomly, read the menu, and had an outstanding dinner. There are plenty of vegetarian options to cover all our bases. 10/10 would eat again.
