Food truck turned restaurant, it’s literally in mass moca

We had an amazing time at Casita. The food was genuinely mind blowing and holds its own against some Michelin starred experiences we’ve had. Staff was delightful and the restaurant setting is cute and authentic to the cuisine, without being performative and set-like. I expected a nice post museum date but got so much more and we will definitely be making the 90 min trip again to come back.

Casita – A Delightful Culinary Experience Near MASS MoCA! Every time we’ve visited the MASS MoCA area, Casita has caught our eye—and we finally had the chance to dine there. It can be tricky without a reservation, but we made it in, and it was absolutely worth the wait! We started with the vegetarian Chilaquiles (a small hiccup—they included egg despite our request, but the dish was still fantastic). The tortilla chips were perfectly simmered in rich coloradito mole and topped with onion, cilantro, nopales, crema, and queso fresco. Truly delicious! The Yucca fries with chipotle aioli might just be the best we've ever had—crispy on the outside, soft inside, and full of flavor. And the Holy Kale Salad was a standout—definitely more than your average salad! It came dressed with a flavorful goddess dressing, house-made croutons, and a sprinkle of cotija, creating a wonderfully balanced bite. Overall, Casita delivered a warm, flavorful, and memorable experience. We'll be back!

We sat inside but they have a cute outdoor space too. Food and service were great! Recommend trying the fried whole fish if available!

I looked but unfortunately couldn’t find a 6th star to give Casita. These peeps are the real deal, and you can see it, taste it, and feel it when you’re there. They care about their food, they care about their patrons, and they deliver a great experience. We’re lucky to have a restaurant like this in town, so if you’re coming through and need a bite to eat, this is the place you want to be. If it’s lunch – Hamburguesa, Tecate If it’s dinner – Al Pastor Chop, ask about the wine. For a treat – whatever the bar is cooking and don’t skip churros and ice cream. 💪

Like many, we had the opportunity to try Casita after an evening visit to Mass MoCA. Seriously, this was an experience that warrants every bit of the 5-stars we're giving them across the board. The menu was very appealing to us in advance of our arrival, and did not disappoint one bit. We ended up dining with another couple, and the staff was consistently cheerful and moved quickly to seat us together. The shishito peppers were my starter, and we both had the street corn gnocchi, which frankly blew our minds with the flavors, texture & presentation. Everything was exceptional...even the fruity water beverage that they make in-house was a great compliment to the meal. Our dining companions commented on how good the drinks & food were as well. Big thanks again to the entire team at Casita...you have a very special place and we hope to return!

The food was good and fresh, but we found the choices very limited. We ordered chips with guacamole and the amount of chips we got was too small. I ordered my salad with a side of grilled chicken, which was served cold and just not very tasty. While we loved the atmosphere and the service, there is room for improvement with the food.

Google
Casita is always a wonderful experience, the food is consistently delicious, the staff is attentive and friendly and the margaritas are amazing! We recently had a large, private event and everything was fantastic! They made everything easy and it all ran seamlessly. People have been raving about the food and service. We were thrilled! I highly recommend Casita for a night out or you next private event.

The cheese and mushrooms in the veggie quesadillas were delish. There were not many veggies- luckily the cheese and mushrooms were scrumptious. We were surprised there were no onions, peppers, jalapeños. The tacos were also scrumptious- I tried the veggie taco- loaded with mushrooms- something about those mushrooms were perfect! The other taco was steak and I absolutely loved that the steak was well seasoned and good size pieces. The guacamole lacked salt!!! The salsa lacked heat. We requested hot salsa which we added to the salsa that came with the chips and guac. The sexy margaritas were strong, but nothing sexy about them. When I have a good margarita, it’s memorable. My lunch date asked “What’s sexy about these margaritas?” Well, there’s a question that will go unanswered. I certainly would not order another one- it was meh. We turned around and tried Casita because of the sign. Lol. The service was fine, the food was served fairly quickly.

Yelp
This is our favorite place in the Berkshires. Awesome staff, incredible food in a gorgeous setting. Get the hamburguesa! It will change your life!

Yelp
I couldn't think of a better way to end our afternoon at the MoCA then to grab an early dinner right on the campus. The salad was fresh, the side dishes were loaded with flavor, and there were many vegetarian options! The ice cream, which is made by another vendor in the museum that is local to the area, was exceptionally good Colan the Mexican chocolate had a nice chocolate base with a good amount of spice, and the cinnamon ice cream was loaded with flavor. The Casita patio overlooks the main museum entrance and is beautifully shaded in the early afternoon in the summer by cantilevered umbrellas. Our server was really friendly and the food came out promptly. This was a great experience for us and our guest who was visiting for the day! I am certain we will be back next time we visit the museum.

Yelp
This place is a vibe!!! The decoration and ambiance is so comfortable and inviting. The small menu means that everything is made w love. Drinks were great, food was really good - everything just hit the spot. I'm so glad I found this "hole in a wall" because it really was the highlight of our trip to this area. Our server was really nice and our food was served warm and quickly. If you haven't been here yet I highly recommend it!

Yelp
The ambiance here is truly adorable! I love the decor and the cute plants they have around. I really do enjoy eating Mexican food. I ordered their quesadilla it was cooked to perfect and a nice balance of meat and cheese. The tacos I ordered were pollo and carne asada. It had a nice serving of meat on the tortilla. The flavors were delicious and right amount of spice. The churros were delicious! Nice crispy with soft center. I'm not a bi g chocolate sauce person I prefer caramel but over I had a great dining experience.

Yelp
I was recently with a group art tour of MassMoca and stopped at Casita for lunch. The food was amazing (what I was able to eat) until I choked on a piece of carne asada (totally my fault). The chef/owners were trained in the Heimlich maneuver and literally saved my life. I can't thank them enough and look forward to a return trip to savor their food again!

Yelp
In a world of 5 stars ratings, Casita is a well deserved 6 ! The pork chops were juicy and perfect on the bed of parsnips puree. The tacos were goodness wrapped up in crunchiness, complemented by a slightly hot sauce garnished with radishes. The fried peppers left a cool glow in the mouth and their spice level fit everyone's taste.

Yelp
Simply the greatest. Delicious tacos, salsas, quesadillas, sandwiches, and larger plates, but the hamburgesa reigns supreme. Fantastic cocktails and an entire team that knows the meaning of exceptional hospitality. Thank you, Casita!

Yelp
The food is pretty good. Service is good. Chicken sandwich didn't have much flavor and they forgot my pickles. The water tasted like it came out of a local pond. The burger was pretty good though. Fries were not very good

Yelp
This place is a gem - we're lucky to have food of this caliber in the Berkshires. I finally branched out from their fried chicken sandwich which is to die for, and had the pollo asado with greens. Fantastic. Beautiful, complex flavors on what could be such a garden variety dish. My wife had the beef tacos with consommé which were equally good.

Yelp
Amazing food. The staff was very kind and accommodating. The ambience is authentic yet trendy. Overall, will def. Return to this place. Highly recommend it..

Yelp
Very cool space in the Mass Moca complex. They only opened about 6 months ago - formerly a food truck. We sat at the bar and chatted with a very enthusiastic bartender. The ceviche and the pork chops were amazing! Phenomenal spicy margaritas

Yelp
Every visit has been nothing short of amazing food and drinks, wonderful service, in a chill atmosphere.

Yelp
There was nothing Chingona about the Chingona salad I had for lunch at Casita. The lettuce was not fresh, the dressing was bland and the extra chicken was skimpy. Service was fine and room was stylish and pleasant.

Barry A.

Yelp
We had lunch today after touring MASS MoCA. The tacos (fish, pollo, and mushroom-poblano) were all very tasty, and it was very relaxing sitting out in the patio. I see that another poster apparently did not care for the mushroom taco, but mine was really good & flavorful. My only regret was the horchata was not particularly flavorful, so that was disappointing. Service was efficient & friendly.

Yelp
Delicious and creative food. Lovely atmosphere with outstanding playlist, music not too loud for conversation early in the evening.

Liz B.

Yelp
I really like the ambiance and decor of this restaurant, but I can't recommend the food. Tacos were both greasy and bland. We tried all four, of them the chorizo was ok, the carnitas was edible, and the mushroom/poblano and barbacoa were close to inedible. Disappointing that there was only one non-meat option. Service was sparse, host seemed stressed, and they didn't bring part of our order. Maybe dinner is better but I would skip lunch here.

Yelp
Stopped in after hiking Mt Greylock. Great food great service spicy marg was actually spicy. Would recommend

Yelp
Delicious food. Definitely not your run-of-the-mill Mexican place. I enjoyed a delicious goat cheese app followed by a memorable chicken entree. Ingredients were fresh and the flavors were delightful. The drink selection was interesting and proved quite tasty. Service was friendly, prompt, and welcoming. Definitely recommend this independently-owned eatery on the grounds of Mass MOCA!
