Hampden’s standout for breakfast sandwiches—think paprika-fried egg, breakfast bánh mì, and weekend burritos. Named Best Breakfast Sandwich by Baltimore Magazine, it’s a fresh, creative take on morning staples.

The coffee is decent, the atmosphere/space is lively and spacious, the food is good...it is a little too pricey. For $46 we got a small chai, large iced coffee (should not be 10 bucks) and 2 breakfast sandwiches. I've been to dozens of coffee shops in the Baltimore area and I felt it was too pricey. I did like their breakfast sandwich selection, everything was tasty and put together nicely. The staff are very friendly and it's a large space to accommodate a large crowd.

This is a great coffee shop on Hampden main street, making it a perfect spot for students looking for a change of scenery. Their huge storefront window allows lots of natural light, and there's plenty of indoor seating. Outlets are somewhat hard to reach, so make sure to come fully charged. The coffee was good but somewhat pricey. Definitely worth multiple visits.

This was not just your average coffee/breakfast shop. This was an experience! The atmosphere is welcoming, warm, light, inclusive, community focused. Good tunes playing overhead. The person making your delicious drink….pure artisan! I watched him doing his craft and the attention, care, and love he poured (see what I did there?!!?) into every drink was beautiful! He hand poured the designs atop your drink. Left me with my mouth opened in awe. Pure artisan! The food was DELICIOUS!!! We had the Papa and Bacon Breakfast Burrito and Mornin Sunshine. Both were incredible. Our drinks were the Golden Milk and the special of the day, Sage Latte. Again…..incredibly delicious. This is one of our favorite coffee shops period. We will return.

First off… this place is so in tune with the Hampden vibe! The staff here are incredibly friendly and inviting. It feels like a home at the holidays- full of friends and good energy! I had the “What the Kitchen Eats” sandwich and then a cappuccino. The sandwich was phenomenal, the flavor was out of this world. Make sure you grab a napkin! Cappuccino was delicious! This is the kind of place you can just melt into and not even realize hours have passed! I will absolutely be back every chance I get!

Beautiful interior, lots of seating, and friendly staff! We enjoy their Laura Palmer, aka their iced tea with the lemonade of the day. We will be coming back to try more!

A breath of fresh air to the avenue. Non pretentious coffee shop with delicious pastries and friendly service.

Don’t walk RUN to this beautiful cafe!!! The staff are excellent and sooo kind. Music playlist is gold whether you’re chatting with friends, studying or just vibing. The ambiance is so eccentric and warm. Food is a 1000/10, the garden of Eden is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. I cannot wait to return. Best coffee shop ever.

My grandmother and I stopped by Catalan Coffee in Hampden and once again we were both delighted, especially by their mushroom bánh mì sandwich. Honestly, I think it is the best vegan bánh mì in Baltimore. My grandmother found it a little spicy but I loved the bold layered flavors. The crisp cucumbers, fresh mint, crunchy carrots, savory mushrooms, and perfectly crusty bread come together beautifully with their flavorful house made sauce. The jalapeños add a lively kick on top of the sauce’s existing spice but it is balanced enough to keep you going back for another bite. I will say the portion felt smaller than the first time I had it. The first was generously stacked while this time was noticeably lighter but still delicious. The café itself is cozy and welcoming with a staff that is warm, friendly, and clearly passionate about their drinks. My grandmother enjoyed her black tea with honey while I went for the blueberry lemonade. It was vibrant, tangy, and full of flavor. I usually order it without ice but this time a little ice helped soften its intensity without taking away from its brightness. Catalan Coffee is truly a hidden gem in Hampden and I cannot wait to return to explore more of the menu. Chef Green 💚

Yelp
We were on a hunt for a new cafe and Catalog was an amazing find! Went in on a Sunday morning and the place was full of energy and there were so many customers, but we were still able to snag a table. The interior is very cool, and we especially loved all the green tile. The menu looked extensive and I had a hard time choosing with so many options. We got a What the kitchen eats, cappuccino and a freddo cappuccino and everything was delicious. We weren't familiar with the roaster they get their beans from but it was a welcome surprise. Honestly can say this was probably one of the best and more unique breakfast sandwiches I have had in a while, with the caramelized onions adding a great taste. Overall will definitely be going back to try out more things from the menu!

Yelp
Nice coffee shop, but a bit on the pricier end for a café. I got the Bmore Breakfast Banh Mi ($13.50). You get to customize the type of bread you want and how you want your egg cooked. I chose ciabatta with an over easy egg. I only got half a sandwich, which I thought was such a small portion for the price. Keep in mind this is not your traditional Bahn Mi. There was good acidity from the pickled carrots. Although I was not a big fan of the mint. I feel like they should've used cilantro instead. I got their popular 16 ounce Honey Bunches Latte which cost $8. I personally do not think it was really worth $8, but it was good. I ordered it extra hot, but when I received it, it was more warm than hot. I also got the 16 ounce Nitro Iced Coffee for $6. It tasted like a normal iced coffee nothing to complain about, but nothing to rave about either. There's plenty of seating inside and the service was fast. They have a coffee station where you can add your own dairy and syrup. They only had half-and-half and oat milk at the coffee station- no whole milk. The half-and-half carafe was empty so I had to ask them to fill it up. They were kind enough to do it in a quick manner. In regards to parking, there's only street parking.

Yelp
Checked back on a Saturday morning. It was busy but not noisy. We were able to find space in the community wooden table to use our laptops. Food was healthy (not overly oily or heavy) and still very tasty. The sauce for my omelette was sriracha-like but better. Little bit spicy but to the perfect point. People here are nice and always recommend good type of food and coffee to us. Great place to join the neighborhood and feel a sense of community.

Yelp
Have visited Catalog a few times now. Modern Decor with some fun decorations on the shelves behind the counter-mini sports Bobble head collection, Rooster statue to name a few. They have merch for sale as well featured coffee for sale from area Roasters. Nice mix of music piping through the speakers (I.e Marley, soft and upbeat instrumental etc.). An inviting atmosphere where you want to stay for a bit-I see why they have the "please be courteous and limit your stay to 90 minutes or less" table tent. Note-They close the kitchen an hour before closing time. I ordered a spicy Mocha which has some spicy notes but somehow drinks like a tea. Something different and enjoyed it. Have tried a couple of breakfast sandwiches- The Remington Scramble (my favorite) mushrooms, spinach cheddar and chives made for a tasty sandwich. "What the Kitchen Eats" was also very good although the Cito sauce overpowered the Paprika eggs. Friendly and upbeat service. You get the sense from watching them make the coffee/tea drinks they are serious about the process-it carries through to their coffee/tea creations. Windows open up on nice days for an open air atmosphere. Another Hampden Coffee spot worth the stop.

Yelp
With prime real estate on the Avenue, Catalog Coffee is dishing out memorable cafe fair alongside top notch barista brews. The smaller store front hides the depth of the cafe's space, which is filled with ample tables for groups and individuals alike. The staff is beyond warm and welcoming, and drinks and food ordered at the counter are brought to you table side. I started with an oat milk latte, which was top notch. Based on the selection of beans for purchase, it's evident that Catalog knows good coffee. Pastries are supplied daily by nearby Maillard and the latte paired with their famous Morning Bun was a winning combo. After hearing and seeing rave review though, I had to try one of the breakfast sandwiches. As a vegetarian, I felt right at home with the menu, which is filled with ample choices. I went with the Vegan Breakfast Banh, which lived up to the hype! The fresh, pillowy with just the right level of chew ciabatta is the perfect vehicle for smashed scallion chickpeas, zippy pickled veg, pops of jalapeño spice and an addicting, slow burn spicy cito sauce. The sandwich was the perfect size for a satisfying but not overly full bite. Look forward to my next visit Catalog team!

Yelp
Walt was pretty lengthy for a latte with sandwich to go. I would visit again just for beverage and not food.

Yelp
Great spot for a morning coffee, but where they really shine is their sandwiches. Everything is prepared really well and the quality is evident. I've had various espresso drinks, and they have all been great. Even better is the friendly nature of the staff when you arrive. I don't think I've seen a coffee shop where the staff know as many names of the regulars as I have here. Just a great energy. Sad that they aren't open on Mondays anymore, as that is when I liked to come. They're still relatively new so expect the hours to continue shifting a bit as they figure out what works best.

Yelp
I came by Catalog around 11 am on a Friday and wow this place was popular! Come early if you want a seat. I was between several sandwiches and the cashier was very nice and helpful in helping me decide what to get. The decor of this place is actually so cute and I love their sun logo, they even have free stickers for it! I took one to decorate my journal. The drinks came out quickly and the sandwich only took about 5 minutes. The service was also nice as they immediately offered a drink holder for me as well as giving me a bag for my sandwich box as I requested one. I can tell there are regulars here at this shop based on some conversations I overheard, and I understand why! There is free back-in street parking available on the street itself as well as potentially free metered parking on the side streets if you come before 12 noon (please check signage!). Mushroom Bahn Mi 5/5 omg, I must come back for this!! The veggies are soft and fresh and when paired with both the jalepeño and the spicy aioli sauce, the result is a mouth-watering tangy sandwich! It comes cut in half and you can probably have this for 2 meals if you're a small eater but I was super hungry after a workout so I devoured this entirely at once Iced Oat Matcha Latte 2/5, sadly this just didn't do it for me. I think it's an issue of matcha ratio to milk which is a fairly common occurrence at coffee shops. Their plastic cups are compostable and feature these cute crab images on them. Ginger turmeric hot tea 5/5, absolutely hit the spot. I normally pair two drinks with my meals and now that the weather is getting a little cooler, I can switch over to an ice and a hot drink! Even though I definitely overstepped this, the ginger was lovingly spiced and the tea almost tasted like a gingery latte with a milky aftertaste? I was a huge fan.

Yelp
I recently went here for a cup of coffee on a weekend morning and had a fantastic experience. Although there was a long-ish line, it moved quickly. I got an 8-ounce house blend for the day at an affordable price ($2.50). It was the best cup of coffee I have had in a while-the barista had mentioned that the coffee had chocolate notes and I could taste them. The coffee was smooth with a good amount of caffeine, and tasted incredible. I highly recommend Catalog Coffee for the next time you are in Baltimore and I look forward to returning!

Yelp
What an adorable cafe! The ambiance and decor are charming, and the staff was very welcoming. While I didn't get a chance to try the food, I did have a coffee and a matcha, both of which were delicious. I also sampled a pastry that was quite tasty, though I can't recall the name. The cafe offers several tables, including a communal one, but I can see it filling up quickly. I'm excited to return, try their food, and enjoy another cup of coffee!

Yelp
Busy, busy, busy (!) coffee and brunch/lunch spot newly opened on Hampden's world famous The Avenue! To get a table or spot at the triangular community table during the limited morning-afternoon hours and limited days open is a desperate, coffee- and sandwich-loving fiend's dream. And I wish you all good luck and amen in that pursuit! Today's _ample_ Cito Bird sandwich with spicy aioli sauce is eaten by me in honor of one of the chef's previously missed local spots Café Cito. Friendly and efficient staff takes your order and bring to and take away from your table. And the ambient music ain't half bad. Unique feature: garage-style window opens in nice weather for sill seat- and sun-loving patrons Café pro tip: a few EV outlets hidden at baseboards along the wall (note: get ready for a deep stretch for access!) Only locals know: check out the wallpaper

Yelp
Really glad to see a coffee shop popping up on the Hampden avenue! This spot is so cute and bright on the inside. When I stopped by, it was a really nice day out so the large garage door window was open which provided half indoor and outdoor bench seating. Love that! There's a large communal table at the front perfect for remote work vibes. There's also smaller tables that would be good for a coffee meet up with friends. The owner is the same person behind Ground & Griddled (previously within R. House), and I was so happy to see some of the same specialties on this menu. Specifically, the honey bunches latte! OMG! This was my favorite thing ever at G&G and I've missed it terribly. Sooo glad I can get my hands on this sweet, creamy, nutty latte again. I didn't even look through the menu much after my eye was caught by the honey bunches latte but I hear they have great breakfast and lunch sandwiches too. I also want to note that the person at the cash register was so incredibly friendly and had great customer service. I would come back even just for that because it was truly such a pleasant interaction and I felt genuinely welcomed by their demeanor. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu and work remote from their lovely cafe!

Yelp
Adorable coffee spot in Hampden with quirky modern decor and excellent drinks! The staff are all very friendly. Lots of seating options. A great place to work or hang out!

Yelp
I know it's a relatively new coffee shop that opened a few weeks ago. I loved walking into this coffee shop! Love the overall vibe, with decor, lighting and seating. The employees were super friendly, helpful and just overall amazing. I loved that they were dressed and manifesting their own individual style. I know that doesn't say much about the food, but definitely speaks volume about the work culture. Now on to the drinks and food. The chai latte was great! Solid. The jackpot was definitely the honey bunches! So unique and delicious. The food was also amazing! I got to try the breakfast banh mi and again, another great combination of flavors and textures. I had the full catalog and absolutely loved the combination of eggs, bacon, avocado and spicy sauce. *Note: the one thing I'll say,l about this place is that it's definitely on the pricier side. I mean it's true that you get what you pay for, but these 4 items were $40 (plus I tipped $8). So spending almost $50 at a coffee shop (4 items) seems a bit out of the norm.

Yelp
On a strip with other stores. Service to take your order is swift. Not much seating on a busy day, besides the community table. The matcha drink isn't sweet, which I actually appreciated. I thought it was refreshing to not have an ultra sweet cafe drink. I wish it was a bit creamier, but I understand that every place makes their matcha beverages differently.

Yelp
What a wonderful coffee shop! The ambiance is really airy inside; and I love the little sunshine neon sign (their logo) on the main wall, it's really cute. I came here on a Friday to cowork with my partner, and can report that the wifi here is stable and fast! I ordered the morning sunshine sandwich (ciabatta fried egg with cheddar avocado, basil spinach and lemon aioli), and oh my gosh, the fresh flavors really stood out I this sandwich! The lemon was perfectly zesty with the basil and egg and avocado. It has to be my new favorite breakfast sandwich from a cafe! If I lived closer, I would order this every day! We both tried the honey bunches latte with oat milk, and it was good, creamy and not overpowering. Not too sweet but not bitter in any way. A pretty solid latte! The servers here were polite and professional, and quick! If you're in the Hampden area, I'd recommend checking Catalog Coffee out!

Yelp
What a great new addition to the neighborhood! There's a printed menu on the wall when you walk in that includes coffee drinks, a couple of teas, all-day breakfast, and lunch. Plus a few specials. It's a cute shop, and bustling! We were there at least an hour and there was almost always a line! In the choice between a croissant vs. a chocolate chunk cookie, and the Spanish bird vs. the pesto special bird, I chose the latter both times (but only because I asked the staff for their recommendation!). I was not disappointed at all. In fact, that chocolate chunk cookie might be one of the top two best cookies I've had in Baltimore. The chocolate chunk cookie was like a chocolate chip cookie, except had really thin layers of melted chocolate in splotches throughout the cookie. I don't actually know how they did it. But it was thin, chewy, and utterly delicious. The perfect balance of sweetness. (I kind of wish they'd warmed it up just a smidge, but honestly no complaints because it was still that good.) The bird special I got was a sizable ciabatta handheld with moist, pan-fried chicken; fresh spinach; roasted red peppers; goat cheese; and pesto. Simple composition, and excellent ingredients. Highly recommend! My friend got one of the coffees with, most notably, a cinnamon honey signature syrup, which was acclaimed as being as good as it sounds. They also got one of the banh sandwiches, which was perfectly true to its menu board description and highly praised! Will definitely be back. Great experience, nice spot. And great design! Take a look at the wallpaper, in particular! :)

Yelp
Such a cute new coffee shop! It's just what the area needed! The food was great and it felt absolutely warm and cheery inside. It's a great spot to go and work, or get a light breakfast with friends!

Yelp
Very cool coffee shop with great vibes. Garage door that allows for an indoor/outdoor space/bench. Staff is welcoming and friendly and answered all questions with great patience. I wasn't very impressed with the food itself, but I really enjoyed my coffee. For the price point, in regards to the food, I expected a bit more. The salad my fiancée ordered was $17.50 and nothing special about it. I ordered a warm honey bunches and this drink is addicting. There's a nice hint of cinnamon and it's normally made with oatmilk, which is my go-to when I add milk. I would come back again for sure, but mainly for the coffee.

Yelp
The matcha latte was top tier. The service was attentive. The location is super cute I love the Baltimore wallpaper I will be returning real soon

Yelp
love the iced honey bunches. Oat latte with house made honey cinnamon syrup is a dream for me. I will definitely come back for this drink.

Yelp
I've visited Catalog Coffee a few times now (they opened a few months ago), and it's pretty nice. It can be swamped (especially in the mornings), but today I stopped by in the afternoon, and there are plenty of tables at that time of day to sit and read a book and enjoy a coffee. They have a full menu for breakfast and lunch (their Classic Catalog breakfast sandwich is just that - a classic). But I'm usually there for a coffee (they have a good variety of coffee drinks). The service is great - everyone is always happy, helpful, friendly. The space is bright and cheery (lots of colors and fun tile); not an understated place, but definitely a happy one. If I'm going to be visiting at a time when I know it will be busy, I sometimes order my coffee ahead of time and pick it up to go - very convenient. Overall, such a great, fun addition to Hampden. Definitely always happy to support a new place like this in the neighborhood. And it seems like it's doing well!
google avatar

Yelp
The space is bright and inviting. Plenty of seating and the staff is friendly and welcoming. I ordered a honey oat cinnamon latte. It was just okay, a few sips made me wonder if it was watered down. I will give them a second try.

Yelp
The atmosphere in Catalog Coffee was amazing! Everyone was very welcoming, despite being so crowded that we were lined out the door. The line moved quickly and we can already tell this place will be a great addition to Hampden. The interior decor is super cute. We did not try the food, but we did get three lattes. The variations we tried were vanilla and honey oat. It was about $20 for all three of us to get a 12oz latte, not horrible. The lunch prices did seem high, but I cannot attest to the portions or taste. They also have complimentary water, which is a nice touch. The coffee itself was delicious and we can't wait to see this place grow!

Yelp
Coming from New York City tomorrow to Baltimore looking to buy a house down here this is one of the nicest café lovely stuff really good I love the David bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich salt tasty on ciabatta style bread I just wish this place was still open that's the only downside upcoming community of young and friendly people if only that had longer hours and more charging stations for business and work with laptops

Yelp
My favorite food here is the smashed avocado toast with paprika egg. It's so good!!!!!!! My boyfriend loves The Remington scrambled. The people are great. They'll call you by name and welcome you with a smile every time. The place is absolutely beautiful!!! The vibes are just so so good. It's helpful to know they are closed Tuesday & Wednesday.

Yelp
Great coffee and lovely sunny space. It's such a delight to have another local coffee shop in Hampden!

Yelp
Bright and inviting coffee shop. I really enjoyed my breakfast sandwich (Catalog Bahn) and the iced latte with honey cinnamon syrup was awesome. The cashier was very friendly and helpful as well! It seemed a little pricey but worth it for an occasional visit.

Yelp
Great energy and vibe in this local coffee shop; tastefully decorated and clean. We had a simple breakfast--yummy classic sandwiches and coffee--we'd definitely go back if we are in the area.

Stephanie M.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our first visit to Catalog! The service was friendly and welcoming. The food was unique and excellent. It came out fast and fresh! We sat at the community table and enjoyed people watching. My chai latte was the highlight of the meal. The prices are high, so it will not be a daily habit. Thank you for opening such a special place in our neighborhood. It was worth the wait.
google avatar

Steve C.

Yelp
Got coffee and a breakfast sandwich for Sunday morning breakfast. I was surprised that they opened so late (8:30 feels late for a coffee shop on the weekend). I was disappointed with the coffee; my mocha was more bitter than anything else, but it lacked any real defining flavor. I also found the breakfast sandwich to be tasty, but the bacon was chewy and stringy. I want a coffee shop with good food in Hampden, but between the difficult hours, the high prices, and the mediocre food, this isn't it.

Monica R.

Yelp
Wonderful vegan options - greatly appreciated. Clean and welcoming ambiance. Professional staff.

Yelp
There's a new girl in town, and her name is Catalog Coffee! This place is so fuckin' cute - the branding is adorable, the staff are amazing, and the coffee is delicious. The space itself is also bright, inviting, and great for a coffee date. I haven't had the food here, but I've had the matcha latte and plain drip coffee which are both amazing. I've been here a few times since it's opened and I'm always sad on Tuesday when I can't stop by!
