I was on vacation and just passing through town. It was around 8:00 p.m. Most businesses appeared to be closed by then, and the town itself felt very quiet, with only a few people outdoors. Catch, however, was open until 10:00 p.m. and pleasantly uncrowded. The guests inside looked comfortable, cheerful, and relaxed. The lighting was soft and romantic—not too bright—and I absolutely loved the jellyfish lamps. The background music was calming and at a perfect volume, allowing for easy, comfortable conversation. The waiter was friendly and attentive, engaging warmly with guests and making everyone feel welcome. Shortly after I was seated, I was pleasantly surprised with complimentary bread paired with balsamic vinegar and olive oil, along with champagne and caviar. I had never tried caviar before, and it was much better than I expected. A few minutes later, a gentleman came out and played a couple of songs on the guitar before leaving. The music sounded foreign—possibly Spanish—and added a romantic touch to the evening. I ordered the salmon, which was cooked perfectly. Overall, it was a truly enjoyable dining experience. Catch is a beautiful and romantic restaurant, and I highly recommend giving it a try.

Good food, nice atmosphere, polite and excellent services. We enjoyed everything we ordered: clamchowder and chicken soup, fish and chips, grilled fish, desert. We also got complimentary sparkling wine and spoon of a black caviar. Good for a romantic date. Beautiful restaurant.

Google
Exceptional experience! We were welcomed with champagne, caviar, and warm bread. The crab cake, prawn spaghetti, and Caramel Sunset were beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. A perfect blend of taste and elegance. Staff were very good and helpful—great service all around. Highly recommended!

Driving down 17 Mile Drive from Pacific Grove we knew friends are frequent visitors of Carmel. We messaged and asked them for a lunch recommendation and we received several. But they shared the best seafood can be found at Catch. That's where we drove to. We were promptly seated in the dining room which had a nice ambiance. Right away we were served complimentary small portion of Caviar and a very small glass of Champagne - an unexpected but appreciated way to start the meal. After reviewing the menu I ordered their local specialty Monterey Bay Sand Dabs while my wife ordered their Grilled Salmon. We drank our beverages (I had an Italian Pilsner and my wife a French Chardonnay). After an appropriate time our lunch arrived. We both really enjoyed our meals - the Sand Dabs were tender, flaky and flavored with a creamy piccata sauce and served with a side of rice pilaf and sautéed vegetables. My wife's Salmon was served with a Saffron cream sauce and baked potato au gratin. The service was very attentive and friendly. We have no reservation recommending Catch in Carmel to any friend. We look forward to returning in the future.

Google
You walk into a very pleasant elegant atmosphere with calming music. We were treated with champagne and caviar by Shariff as we pursued the menus. As we discussed the menu you start to notice the Mediterranean themes wall frescoes and the unique jellyfish lamps that caught out eye as we walked in. They are a good kids menu. Wife ordered sand dabs, I ordered linguine with shrimp which was modified by the chef to accomodate my onion and garlic allergy. The bread load had a nice flaky crust and spongy center that melted in my mouth and paired well with the balsamic vinegar/olive oil. The sand dabs were cooked to the perfect temperature and had a perfect texture. Flavor was amazing when salted to taste. The linguine with shrimp was buttery and filling, and after the freshly ground pepper and salting to taste was very satisfying.

Google
The whole menu looked amazing but we had two salads and two gimlets! Salads and gimlets were amazing. Our server Augustine was great

Stopped here for a Sunday lunch after a stroll through the town. Ambience is nice. Food was beautifully presented, was fresh and good portion size. The champagne and caviar welcome was much appreciated. Highly recommend, would go again

Google
The service was amazing and the atmosphere and look of the restaurant is very calming despite the small space. The prices are very affordable for dinner. Surf and turf for $49.95. However, the drink prices seem very expensive especially as several of the drinks use standard liquor, not top shelf, but yet cost $20 per drink. Also, while the filet mignon was perfect, the lobster tail was very mushy and overcooked. The creme brulee was perfect with a perfect sugar crust on top. I probably wouldn't choose this place to dine again, but it was a nice place if you want to try a new spot in carmel and don't want to spend an arm and a leg doing so. They also brought a small extra treat of a bite of caviar and a tiny glass of champagne and they had a guitar player walking around serenading the guests. And again the service was great considering it was Valentine's Day and very busy.

Yelp
Stumbled on this restaurant while walking back from the sunset at the beach. We were quickly seated and served complimentary caviar and Champaign. The fried calamari was to die for!! Our main dishes were amazing. 10/10 experience! I also brought my 7 month old baby and they were very accommodating.

Yelp
From the moment we walked in, the staff was friendly, and the atmosphere elegant, and cozy. The food was amazing. My wife and I had the grilled salmon, blackened, and we both agreed it was the best salmon we've ever had. The drinks were also very good. Also our server, Sharif, was great. Very friendly, helpful and attentive.

Yelp
It's not just a restaurant it's an experience. Some of the best seafood pasta and dishes we've ever had. Right on the Main Street of Carmel by the Sea. The staff and service was perfect and entertaining. Awesome date night atmosphere makes it a place you'll truly remember.

Yelp
Only went here because the neighboring restaurants had a waitlist. Very good calamari. Service was above average. Fish entrees were not great. Grilled fish was too dry and the fish and chips as well. Clam chowder was too creamy and not enough texture with clams and potatoes. The dining was too blue of a lighting. Wouldn't return with all the better options around here.

Yelp
Service was good, atmosphere was nice, good menu options. I ordered a salmon burger and Wife ordered pesto pizza. When the food arrived they had grilled onions on top of the salmon burger, which could be a good thing, but they were cold like they came out of the fridge. Salmon didn't have no seasoning, only had the honey mustard on half the sandwich, bun wasn't that impressive. The pizza lacked any seasoning, the chicken was good quality but no flavor. Pesto was good, but both items needed some love

Rachael L.

Yelp
I'm really disappointed, mostly because of how accessibility was handled. When we arrived, the accessible entrance/accessible path was blocked by "overflow customers" -- other diners, with chairs and bodies fully in the way. We asked staff for help so a wheelchair could pass. Instead of addressing it or asking the diners to stand for a moment, we were basically left to figure it out ourselves. Luckily I was with friends who could carry my wheelchair up several stairs. No one offered to clear the path, no one stepped in to create a safe route, and it turned what should've been a normal entrance into an awkward and stressful situation. Accessibility isn't a "nice to have"--it's basic, and it's on the restaurant to keep accessible routes usable. On top of that, the service was exceptionally slow, and our table was largely ignored for long stretches. Food and atmosphere aside, I can't recommend a place that treats wheelchair access as optional. If you use a wheelchair or have mobility needs, be aware.

Yelp
Came here for a special meal with my family, was one of the worst meals we have ever had. The food took over one hour to come out. The cheesy garlic bread had no garlic? Only one out of the five entrees was warm, when we attempted to flag down someone to heat up my food we couldn't get our waiters attention and he didn't bother to check in with us until our meal was over. The whole restaurant itself is freezing cold as they leave the two doors open the whole time. Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Yelp
Amazing food, amazing service, amazing owner. I honestly can say this is the best sea food in this area. They start serving you with a complimentary caviar and champagne. We ordered the pasta with the jumbo prawns and crab and shrimp ravioli, they both were outstanding! I recommend this place 100% if you are in the mood for the seafood. It is the cleanest, most delicious food in Carmel. We will be back

James C.

Yelp
Had dinner at Catch tonight. What a delight! The wait staff was welcoming and attentive. I had the halibut and my wife had the sea bass. Both of our meals were delicious. At one point a guitarist strolled around the dining area serenading us all. It was unexpected and lovely. My wife and I shared a tiramisu that was a perfect end to a wonderful meal. We would definitely come again.

Yelp
It was my son's 21st birthday! The waiter took the time to make it a truly special birthday. dinner. He made it so special!!! They gave us small shots of Champaign and small spoons of caviar together. It looked very classy. All the food and service was wonderful. The waiter brought a delicious dessert with a birthday candle at the end. It wasn't just a scoop of ice cream. It was a true fine dining dessert. The service, food, location, and ambiance were excellent! Thank you to our wonderful waiter and cooks!!!

Yelp
Catch is a very nice seafood restaurant in Carmel. The ambiance is cozy with Aquarium inspired decor. The service was prompt and very good. Our waters were refilled without asking. We ordered calamari for appetizer. The calamari rings were tender with the breading light and crunchy. A very nice start to our entrees. Soy Glazed Sea Bass - 5/5 The bass filet was marinated with a slightly sweet soy glaze. The fish filet was not dry, and was cooked perfectly. The veggies (carrots & String beans) were cooked perfectly. You have a choice between rice and potato au gratin. I chose the potato au gratin which was very good and tender. It was not overly baked or too cheesy. A great selection. Prawn Pasta a la Cream - 5/5 This pasta dish wasn't very tasty. The Puran's were large and prepared perfectly - nice and tender. The tomatoes were real fresh chucks, not canned tomatoes. The white cream sauce was rich with a background of wine flavor. The pasta was cooked al dante. A very nice pasta dish. Blackened Salmon - 4/5 The blackened salmon was good. The filler was a tad over done which made parts of the salmon a little dry. The mash potatoes were buttery good. Surf and Turf - 5/5 The filet mignon was prepared perfectly medium rare. The filet was tenderly delicious! The lobster tail was around 6 oz. The lobster was broiled perfectly. It was not overly done. It was tender. We enjoyed our experience at Catch. The service was great and the food prepared was great. I recommend giving Catch a visit when you're visiting Carmel by the sea!

Yelp
Food is amazing! 10/10. Sherrif serve us in a timely manner. Kind and accommodating. Definitely be back again.

Yelp
With three nights in Carmel, we were keen to try out some different places to eat, and Catch was number two. Initial impressions were good, as they offer you a shot of bubbly and a wee spoon of caviar as soon as you sit down. However, neither was of particularly good quality. Next came the wine order - they didn't have the Oyster Bay NZ Sauvignon Blanc that I asked for, but provided another variety that I'd never heard of - of course this was 'at the same price'. I've no idea what it would actually cost, although I suspect not as much as the New Zealand version. It wasn't bad, but I don't think it was in the same league as the Oyster Bay (which we like), and in retrospect I should have gone back to the wine list and picked again. For mains, I went with the halibut, which came with a ball of rice and not much else. The fish was tasty enough, but I felt it could have been a bit more imaginative. Then came the Mariachi guitarist... if there's one thing guaranteed to annoy me, it's musicians coming round the tables when you're trying to enjoy your meal. Just... please don't.

Diana K.

Yelp
We came to Catch specifically for happy hour, which is clearly listed on their website with no mention of it starting January 1. When we walked in and asked about it, the staff member was extremely rude and abruptly told us, "Happy hour doesn't start until January 1." I even pulled up their website and showed him that it shows happy hour starting now, and he still said, "Sorry, I can't do anything. I'll talk to management." No apology, no effort, no customer service. It was incredibly unprofessional, especially when the mistake was on their own website. We were ready to stay and enjoy a meal and drinks, but after that interaction? Absolutely not. We will not be returning.

Yelp
We had a beach day! Got hungry and stepped into this wonderful place. It had a nice and cozy feeling inside, they had instrumental versions of popular songs playing in the background which I really enjoyed. One of the best parts about this place was the complementary taste of Champagne and Caviar! omg!! Made my day. It was amazing. I don't eat a lot so just ordered a cup of clam chowder; it was good thick and creamy. I also ordered the house salad. (Added salmon to my salad) it was much larger than I thought it would be. The salad and salmon were very good. I enjoyed my virgin spritzer and am a happy girl. My husband ordered the fish tacos to drink he had the spa spritzer it has lemon cello in it he is a big fan of that. Our server Florencio was great! He checked on us just the right amount and was not pushy; we really liked him. I really want to bring my family back here I think they would really enjoy it.

Yelp
Food was great and service exceptional. Gave us plenty of time to enjoy each course we ordered and didn't rush us out.

Yelp

Yelp
It's hard to stand out in a place like Carmel, California because everywhere you look there's another great looking place to eat. We were walking by Catch, wanted seafood and decided this was the spot. They seated us immediately at a great table and brought us a champagne and caviar amuse bouche, which was a really nice touch. Three of us ordered fish, one ordered chicken and everyone was really happy with their meal. Prices were reasonable, and service was excellent. Five stars!
google avatar

Dia N.

Yelp
If you're in Carmel on a weekday, you know everything literally closes by like 8pm. Finding a spot to grab a light bite after 8pm is so difficult, so luckily I stumbled on this spot and they had oysters! I shared the half oysters, lobster sandwich, and clam chowder. The oysters were good, but I wish they had separated the cocktail sauce from the horseradish. The clam chowder was also good, but it was a bit more on the thicker chunkier side for me, but flavors were there! The lobster open faced sandwich was very filling and came with a side of salad. I loved the big bits of lobsters mixed in with some veggies. The staff here were also super friendly and sweet. They always checked up on us and made sure we were doing well. There's a lot of seating here indoors and outdoors. When we arrived, there was even some live music going on. It looks like this place and the Mediterranean place are owned by the same people which is probably why they're both open later than other businesses.

Diana H.

Yelp
The service was great. But as I'm looking at my receipt, something is very off. The total for credit should be $238.77 as seen on the detailed receipt. However, the customer copy has the charge amount as $260.26 before tip. I added an extra tip of $50.00. This is so wrong. I didn't check to see if the amount charged was the same as the detailed receipt, but it should NOT be different either. Plz check your receipts very carefully.

Alexey Z.

Yelp
Excellent restaurant, amazing food. We had live music, excellent service and magic atmosphere. Highly recommend! BTW, don't forget your desert!

Yelp
I had lunch here with my wife, adult daughter, grand daughter and their lab Gigi. We were hungry and they were dog friendly so we dropped in for a late lunch. When we walked in there was only one other group in the restaurant. Sometimes when one dines at an off hour one is treated as a nuisance but not in this case. Even though we had a child and dog our server Luis was friendly, helpful and attentive. We were in the mood for salads and soups. The had a very nice clam chowder, my wife had the cilantro garlic shrimp sandwich, my daughter had the mango salad with shrimp and scallops, my 12 year old grand daughter had the kids pasta which was buttered spaghetti and I had the crab Louie salad. My salad was excellent with lots of crab meat and crispy lettuce. All in all we were very pleased and would return.
google avatar

Karen C.

Yelp
Very cute place, very friendly people here! A nice wine list. However, the food was really not enjoyable for us. The clam chowder was just a thick glob of flour and cream. I literally got one clam. I got fish tacos, and there was a huge mass of "slaw" which was basically shredded cabbage with maybe a little bit of seasoning. The three fish tacos were so enormous, my entire plate could have fed three people. And yet it wasn't good, so I did not eat it. My husband got a salad and it was similar... Just a lot of food, not presented well, and not tasty. I'm sorry. I do think you could give it a try because maybe they will do better.

Yelp
We stopped by here for late lunch they were not busy . There was only one other table occupied by another couple. Ws got seated our server came right away to take our order. They brought us what looked like shot glasses with I think some kind of wine in them on the house along with drinks menu, but we don't drink so we decline it. We placed order I had the for Mediterranean fish & chips and Smoked Salmon pizza salad. Even though they were not busy at all, it took a while for our food to arrived. I really liked the pizza it was with white sauce, covered with fresh arugula /tomatoes & goat cheese. The Mediterranean fish & chips on the other hand were nothing special could use some seasonings. The reason for 4 star reviews is the time it took for food to be prepared and the prices they charged for the food . Also I went to use the bathroom it smelled and was little messy. I would think the food would be prepared quickly since they only had 2 couples dining.
google avatar

Rahil P.

Yelp
One of the best fish and chips I've ever tasted! Absolutely worth a visit when in Carmel.
google avatar

Sean M.

Yelp
Fish Tacos - 4 Stars Clam Chowder soup - 3 stars Crab cakes - 5 stars Good food, great service and ambiance. Started the meal with a small bit of caviar and light champagne. We don't like caviar but the champagne was good for a start on the evening. The service was very attentive and polite. One waiter but four people serving the room and they all worked together as a team. The crab cakes were huge lumps of shredded crab thrown in a little butter and fried up. The fish tacos were deconstructed so had the sauce and coleslaw on the side to add as I wanted. And clam chowder was ok but weird that it mostly cheese and much clams.
google avatar

Patty B.

Yelp
The food was excellent and I didn't expect to say that! Best we've both had in a long time and we live in Orange County with great restaurants...THIS WAS BETTER!
google avatar

Zackery B.

Yelp
Was craving clam chowder after a long hike and overnight in Big Sur. This hit the spot. Service was great and the clam chowder was very thick creamy and tasty. We also got the crab cakes which were great! Prices are also good compared to everything around.

Shannon B.

Yelp
My husband and I have eaten here a few times when visiting the Monterey Peninsula. The food is outstanding with incredibly reasonable prices for the freshness and quality. Start with some of the best fresh, fried calamari ever. And the Clam Chowder is legitimately the freshest, creamiest, bestest on the west coast. Service is great, with food coming out fast and hot, and they don't rush your meal! Mina is friendly and reads his customers well. The live music is such a nice treat, not too loud, not too much to interfere with your meal. Go and enjoy Catch Carmel!
google avatar

Frank Lloyd W.

Yelp
You know that feeling when you eat someplace and you regret it almost immediately on a few bites and start feeling nauseous, like it was bad fish? That. Way too touristy. Pushed by our lovely hotel. But really, a massive disappointment. I will say I think the owner tries and means well. But a really bad experience.
google avatar

Mary T.

Yelp
Came here for dinner. I was surprised how good it was since the restaurant was pretty empty. Only a few tables were occupied. The staff was very attentive and really good at explaining what they have on their menu when we order our dishes it came out right away along with our drinks the food was very delicious and it was really good. My husband and I enjoyed ourselves a lot. We finished everything and had no leftovers. Halfway to the dinner, they came to light candle on our table and we had live music so the environment and restaurant was really nice and the music was also really romantic. I will recommend coming here. It was a really really great place.

Rose A.

Yelp
Now I understand why every other place was fully booked with a wait time of 30 mins and this one was completely empty with just one other family. My husband and I were walking past this place when the person working at the door of the restaurant approached us to come in for lunch and we decided to try this spot. I got the lobster roll on a bread and he got fish and chips. The lobster roll was so gross.. it was cold and tasted like store bought lobster that just got thrown on a piece of bread. I ended up eating the piece of bread only. I even asked the waiter after the first bite if they can change the food cause I could not eat it and he said no they'd have to charge me for whatever I get.
google avatar

Heather C.

Yelp
The atmosphere is really great. They bring in a singer/ guitarist most nights which I love. I was really craving fish so we came here, but the crab cakes were very "mayonnaise-y" the oyster shooters were not all created the same? Frankly I'm not sure what the combination was as they were not even, nor did they taste the same. The salmon was very flavorful and the presentation was nice. Everyone else ordered very nice dishes so maybe I need to try something else. The waiter came by frequently in the beginning and not much later on.

Yelp
We came here on thanksgiving day as we were having a hard time finding restaurants that were open and this restaurant has openings. The service here is phenomenal, the host accommodated us although they were busy with many reservations, they gave us complimentary champagne and caviar for thanksgiving and he even ran out to give us our card we had forgotten! Working on thanksgiving night is tough and the staff were all so welcoming and hospitable. The restaurant itself is also high end looking with most beautiful jellyfish lights. 5 stars for the service and ambiance. The 3 stars is mostly for the food which is subpar/bad. The calamari we got was bland and chewy. It desperately needed salt. We also got the crab ravioli which was overly creamy and heavy and lacking in actual crab flavor. The clam chowder was alright but it tasted more like corn chowder and had little meat. Overall the food here didn't taste very fresh which is a key component of seafood. I am not sure if this is the ingredients they are using or the chef, but this place has a lot of potential if they work more on the food!

Yelp
Let's start with food, shall we? We ordered fish tacos, burger, fish and chips and clam chowder. If you want to order burger specify how well you want it cook, otherwise it will be on a raw side, which not great if you order it for kids. Fish and chips were decent, came with delicious sauce. Clam chowder was very bland lacking of flavor, salt, herbs, but came in delicious sourdough bread bowl, a bit stale but still good. The best dish was fish tacos with fresh veggies and palatable sauce! Confirming what is advertised in Yelp, they do greet each guest with glass of cold champagne and tiny spoon of black caviar (don't get excited it was not beluga, but cheap fish caviar that was colored). I will return to that restaurant it for the good but for the ambiance and interior with was absolutely magical and romantic! Both adults and kids will enjoy the splendor, wall art and soft light from unique lamps!

Yelp
Besides the poor service (being waited on by 3 different people) and them charging for my birthday dessert that was supposed to be complimentary, my boyfriend ended up with awful food poisoning 4 hours after eating here. He threw up for 5 hours and was feverish and shaking all night. Once it was out of his system by the next evening he was back to normal. The manager gave us a refund for his meal (sand dabs) and our oysters (he only had 1 oyster because he isn't a huge fan) which was alright, but then had the audacity to tell me "my grandma says that sometimes when you eat something you don't like you can psych yourself into throwing it up." It was classic food poisoning and I've never seen him so sick, so I didn't appreciate the gaslighting. Also, if you're going to offer complimentary champagne and caviar, I would suggest coming up to the table with it and offering, instead of just putting it down and making us feel very uncomfortable when we said we're sober so we will pass on the champagne. Not everyone drinks!

Will M.

Yelp
We went for an early dinner. My girlfriend and I were amazed at the lobster tails, complimentary caviar and champagne and port after dinner. Price was very reasonable and our waiter was outstanding!!! Definitely will go back again

Yelp
Very mediocre. The decor is very very tired. The seafood is good, uninspiring, just fine. Nothing is going to knock your socks off here. It is all edible and serviceable. The service friendly enough and the minstrel guitarist was lovely. There is no wine list to speak of so don't even try, but they poured a very heavy gin and tonic. I was shocked the concierge at our luxury hotel recommended this place. I mean, it is fine for a Tuesday night out at a shopping mall in Ohio, but for Carmel, no. Just no.
google avatar

Trevor V.

Yelp
Service was bad. The waiter was not inviting and was short with his words. The food was a 7-8/10. But overall I would not want to go back there.

Yelp
Reservations scheduled through OpenTable. Arrived and greeted with friendly smiles and were seated right away. Cute place and very it was packed! Great music playing overhead. Oysters on the half shell were so delicious and fresh. My husband's pizza was very tasty. The Sea Bass was amazing. I had it with potatoes au gratin and veggies which was perfect accompaniment along with a nice glass of Pinot Grigio.

Yelp
They have the location so probably why there's so much foot traffic. Honestly the restaurant was a bit deceiving. Service was not good. Worked with four different staff, they forgot part of our order and still tried to bill us for it and overall the food did not hit the mark. I was not expecting this type of review for this spot. Unfortunate.

Yelp
What an amazing experience at this wonderful restaurant located right on Ocean Avenue in Carmel. Their wine list is amazing and well priced so do order a nice bottle to enjoy with your meal. We had the crab cakes for appetizers and they were one of the best we've ever had. For our entrees I had the Kampachi- grilled simply with salt and pepper and served with mashed potato and vegetables. Amazing!!! The Kampachi itself is such a flavorful fish that it doesn't need any marinade or sauce. The wife had the veggie pasta which she said was great. Dessert was skipped because we were too full but the mint tea in the end worked as a great digestif. Love this restaurant!!

Yelp
Service, ambiance, food & the entirety of the place is great! My husband and I were just walking around the streets of Carmel trying to get seated somewhere for dinner. Fortunately, they just started taking in guests when we pass by their restaurant and got seated right away. You first get greeted with champagne and a small dollop of caviar (WHO DOES THAT?) and then they also serve bread with dipping sauce (vinaigrette & EVOO) which is also so good and fresh and then ordered Frito Misto for apps which is SOOOOO GOOD!! (Portion was great also) Their pasta list isn't very extensive which I appreciate because they each dish they list on their menu is made with love and care. I ordered Fresh spaghetti with clams instead of linguine (they only have spag opt if you want another pasta alternative, and it's freshly made ;)] Hubby ordered surf and turd and he was so pleased with the quality of the meat and the lobster! The portions were great! Not too big not too small! Just perfect! I would definitely come back and will totally recommend to my friends & fam when they go to Carmel!! Love love love! Ps. We got a sweet treat from a lovely musician who came and serenaded everyone in the restaurant!

Yelp
Catch Point Formerly a Mediterranean restaurant, aptly named "Mediterranean," this restaurant underwent a remodel back in early '20 but kept the original owners. Now, Catch has been self-annointed as "Carmel's Fish House," and features a bevy of fresh, 100% sustainable seafood and a menu that features much what one would expect from a Monterey Bay seafood joint--with one caveat as Catch pays homage to their former Mediterranean heritage with lots of pasta options and even seafood pizzas The Good: *Dog-friendly outdoor seating *Reservations are available through their website or OpenTable®. *Great location in the heart of downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea. *Complimentary champagne and caviar shooters are a nice touch to go along with their complimentary warm focaccia and oil. *Clam Chowder was excellent! Thick broth with lots of clams and not too many taters to kill the flavor. It was particularly delicious when using the bread as a scooping device. *The Cioppino was too outstanding, as it had a shipload of seafood mixed into it (no crab), and the broth itself was delicious and full of great seafood and tomato flavor. The Meh: *Website claims to have "oceanview" dining. Hmm... ok, sure. :) *Carissa's Grilled Salmon Plate was a bit of a disappointment, as the fish was overcooked and the Potatoes au Gratin (side dish) were also dried-out. *Service was a bit iffy, as the server was nice enough and was trying, but he seemed to struggle with timing and consistency throughout the service. However, this might have had something to do with our seating arrangements. (See below) The Ugly: *They have this narrow hallway outdoor seating area (owner calls it the "outdoor alley") that's, to be kind, is sorta strange. You're kind of tucked away in a dark alley and feel forgotten about as it took nearly ten minutes before we were greeted, and throughout the meal requests weren't fulfilled and paying the bill at the end took a good twenty additional minutes. TLDR: An almost perfect meal (minus the salmon) and iffy service brings this place to a 3.5* but rounded up because we'll most likely be back.

Yelp
Great food and great service. The caviar and champagne was a wonderful addition to the beginning our meal. The seafood was fresh and well prepared. Staff was knowledgeable and attentive. The place had an ocean of theme with jellyfish decor tastefully included throughout. We were there for lunch and was by the window and was able to enjoy the lovely Carmel day without sitting outside

Yelp
Best seafood spot in Carmel! If you're hungry and a protein lover--dive in! The oysters are spot on. This place is exceptional: their seafood pasta, Frutti Di Mare, is so packed with seafood, you'll wonder if they forgot the pasta. The fish tacos? Delicious and loaded with fish--no skimping here! And don't miss out on the local sparkling wine--Folktale Rosé!"

Yelp
The three rockfish tacos were delicious. We also had the grilled jumbo prawns that were equally good. It had a great Cilantro mayo sauce for dipping that was very good. Highly recommend this restaurant.
