Google
Fantastic place. I took the distillery tour which was awesome. Gave insight on why it's called Cathead. The spirits were also great. The vodka is dangerously smooth. I am particular to bourbon and what they produced did not disappoint at all. If you like distilleries and you're in Jackson, this is a must visit place.

Some friends and I went last Saturday 9/6 and a time was had!! We did the tour and it was great but our bartender DeMarcus , I think (very awesome guy from Lexington) was the best! Samples were awesome-I'm not a big whiskey drinker but if I start drinking-Cathead will be my #1 choice!

I love the people here super sweet one of my first adventures of being out here in MS. The vodka is good too especially the orange/mandarin and espresso vodka.

Swung through this distillery when passing through to Florida. Everyone was so nice, super helpful with tastings, and sent me on my way with a few well-packaged bottles. 10/10, would definitely stop here again because of the friendly staff!

Google
Very nice distillery. It's great that it's family friendly and all the games on the tables make it fun for the kids as well as the adults. The tour was good and the tasting was nice. It's a shame that you don't get the souvineer glass like you used to. Good selection of beers as well.

Passing through on the way to Arizona from North Carolina and having had their bourbon before I had to stop att their distillery. I know your weren't going on but they have a bottle/gift shop so popped in just before they closed at 4pm and Major took care of us. Giving us a little history of their bourbon and talking through all they offered. They had very limited stock of a 13 year bourbon and their pick plus others. I ended up with their cask strength pick and man o man it is good. Would love to come back for a tour one day but keep an eye on them... They about to blow up.

Went there as Harvest Host. We had dégustation of their three major rhums with Taite and Emily; so nice, so good! We do recommend it ❤️❤️❤️

Google
Such a cool distillery. Served by Mimi at the bar. She made a pretty drink for me with gin.

Yelp
We stopped in on a Thursday on our way to Nola. The bartender Kirsten was extremely pleasant and inviting. We enjoyed Yaopy hour . We had a dirty martini and an expresso martini . We also had a tasting of some of their spirits . We really enjoyed the honeysuckle vodka ....would definitely recommend.

Yelp
Boss Lady and I saw an ad for this place while we were in Laurel MS. So, on our way back to TX, we stopped by for a taste. She doesn't drink, so it was up to me to taste their goods. It was a little frustrating at first due to several of the young people not knowing the products and not being able to inform us regarding the taste notes. Thankfully, an attractive brunette (sorry, can't remember her name) came over and answered every question. She was very informative and helped us decide what to buy. We bought one of their Bristol gins and a chicory liquor. The location is kinda hidden, but once you're there, it opens up and there is ample parking. We couldn't take the tour but the bar area is comfortable and warm.

Yelp
We booked a private tour for 9 and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Mave was so sweet and so knowledgeable. We tasted vodka, bourbon, gin, and some other things - all delicious. We bought out the gift shop and got stickers and pins . The distillery was super relaxed and gave industrial chic vibes. We could've stayed there all day. A must-visit in Jackson!

Yelp
Went today 6/21/21. Really enjoyed meeting Gabe and learning about the "oldest Mississippi distillery ". Even though it was started in 2010! Tour did not happen as they had not gotten back to tours since covid. We bought the amazing Bristow Gin, Hubby enjoyed it very much . Got a case of their Spritzer as well as a t-shirt for our son. It was a fun place with great tables on the 'loading dock. (Would have been a 5 star if they had a tour)

Yelp
Our tour guide Savannah, was very knowledgeable and personable. The tour was cool and informative. It is followed by a tasting of most of their products. The ambiance and history of the location makes the ambiance interesting. The bottle shop has a few of their harder to find products.

Mary A.

Yelp
Excellent bourbon, better than expected for the price. Two employees helped us and were very prompt, friendly and informative. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because it was confusing whether or not it's open. Apple Maps said open 9-5 M-F; Yelp had other hours; their website didn't have hours. Turns out they are not open to the public yet as a distillery; they're not doing tours or tastings or anything, just private events as they ramp back up after Covid. But their Bottle Shop is open- you can go and purchase bottles on site. So- if you know you want to purchase from them, it's great. If you're looking for more of an experience, wait until they're officially open.

Yelp
So here I am in Jackson, Mississippi and no breweries to visit. But lol and behold there is a distillery nearby! Yes I am going to count this among my brewery visits because they have to ferment before they distill. Hey, it's my list and this makes it 127 "alcohol production and consumption facilities" since I guess I can't say they are all breweries. Ok, enough of that. Cathead Distillery is in a big building with a well defined tasting area. The first bar I walked up to was beer only, none brewed here. I said it wasn't a brewery! Taylor at the bar told me that by law I need to do a tour and can then get a tasting. The next tour was starting I in about twenty minutes so I sat down to write a long winded review while I waited. Hey, why should I suffer alone? Did I say suffer? Not quite true as I did get to have a beer while I waited. The tour was good, but was really just a requirement for tasting the good stuff. Now, Cathead makes vodka, gin, and a bourbon as well. They also do some flavored vodkas and a chicory liqueur. Tastings are limited on the tour to three of your choice plus the bourbon. I went with the honeysuckle vodka first, which had a nice sweet floral aroma and flavor. The pecan vodka was quite sweet and seemed a bit smoother than the honeysuckle. The straight gin was pretty good, but I am honestly not a gin guy. SWPFTD likes gin and I am going to pick up a bottle of this for her. Last tasting was the Old Soul bourbon. I could drink this. It had a nice nose to it with a bit of alcohol along with the oak. Since I'm flying and don't want to try and pack two bottles in my small luggage that I normally carry on with me, I'm not buying a bottle of this now. I'm going to check and see if I can get one shipped to me though. I enjoyed Cathead Distillery and when I am in the area again...Hey! I'll be here next weekend! Anyway, stop in and check them out. They seem to do a lot of live music as well and I would love to bring SWPFTD here one day. If anyone is a glutton for punishment, please, follow my brewery, and distillery, reviews from across the U.S. and beyond! https://www.yelp.com/collection/-8iscFkpiiCI563-FDfwGg and if anyone is wondering who SWPFTD is you will have to check out my review of Black Market Brewing Co in Temecula, CA to understand. Yes, you will need to read into it a little to get the joke but I have confidence in you!

Yelp
This was my first time to visit a distillery after having toured and visited many breweries in several states. I like their vodka drinks and have had them at several other locations outside of the distillery and in other states. You are looking at 8 dollars a drink plus tip. The distillery is in an old warehouse downtown hat has been remodeled. It is very mice inside. I didn't notice any tv's in the drinking area which could be nice when going for a drink to watch a game. They could also put some games or something in the distillery to keep you occupied and make you stay long. Unfortunately this is a one drink kind of place in my opinion. The distillery is nice, but it could be so much more. While, I went for a special event, it appears it usually closes pretty early which I am assuming is due to the area of town that it is in. I'm really surprised that they haven't tried to develop this area into other bars and restaurants for tourism and the locals. I would give it 3.5 stars if Yelp let me. I liked the distillery, but it could be so much more....

Yelp
I really enjoyed my visit to Cathead Distillery! As a Kentucky girl, when I discovered there was a bourbon distillery near my hotel I had to walk over and check it out. I'm really glad I did, because the staff at Cathead were all great! And I ended up making some friends in my tour group as well. The facility, and tour, are small; but the space is cool and the tour was informative. I learned that Cathead was Mississippi's first distillery, and they're the oldest, and I learned quite a bit about blues music and the history of the term "Cathead" with respect to it. I really enjoyed the tasting at the end. Cathead is making some really tasty vodka! They also have gin, and as I mentioned, bourbon. As a Kentucky girl, I've got to be honest and say I wasn't the biggest fan of their bourbon. But, it's new, and maybe with time it will improve. I have a lot of experience with bourbon, and I know what I like, and I think Cathead needs some more time. But, the other product was good, and it's always fun to try new things! If you're in the area I definitely suggest checking this spot out!

Yelp
I love that Cathead Distillery is well established in Jackson, MS. I was visiting home last month and decided to stop by. The distillery is located in the heart of downtown. There is a dedicated and parking free parking lot. The interior is well done! In addition to the distillery equipment, they have seating areas, ping pong tables, bars, and a gift shop. To sample the spirits, you have to do a tour (by law). The bar with draft beer is fair game. We like to have a few beers, engage in some conversation, maybe play some ping pong, and hit the gift shop for bottles prior to leaving. If you are in Jackson, this is definitely worth a visit. As an added bonus, they occasionally will do outdoor events on the property. Love it!

Yelp
I'm so glad this distillery has made its way to Jackson! The Vodka tastes great and is very smooth. In addition, they host events for the community like crawfish festivals, bands, and food trucks. I'm happy they remodeled an old, abandoned building downtown, and gave it life again! The inside is beautifully redone and they offer tours of the facility.

Yelp
What a great time this place is!! Such a gem for downtown. We did the tour and it was a lot of fun. Great beer selection on top of the tasting at then end of the tour. A small place with such great character. We totally would hang out here a lot if we lived in the area. May come back tomorrow for the crawfish boil.

Yelp
I must say it is a wonderful spot for a venue and very unique for downtown Jackson. Its a fun spot to go to on a free day particularly if they are having an event. The outside is perfect for Summer games or an outside music mini concert and the inside has enough space for many ideas/ events. They have tours available and a bar area for ordering beer and cider. Unfortunately, you can only taste/sample the vodka on site during the tours. But that doesn't prevent you from having a fun time with a group of friends. The vide is really laid back and the people that work there are really awesome. Just all positive things for this spot. Its a great place to meet people on a Saturday and if they are having a weekend event (which they often tend to have so check out their calendar) you are in luck! Great times will be had by all on a chilled day.

Yelp
We hear that the FDA has some issues with your patriotic service to provide our citizens with hand sanitizer in our emergency! Please know you have the support of a grateful capital city and its admiration. Auto factories overnight made ventilators, many industries repurposed their equipment to save lives! My family henceforth will only use products you produce. Our small thanks for lives saves and jobs at your distillery protected. THANK YOU does not say enough! The Gray-Lewis Family

Yelp
We went the day after Christmas and it was pretty empty, but that didn't stop Taylor from giving us her attention on a personal tour and tasting. The gin is amazing and the vodkas are great too. My bf really liked the bourbon, and we both raved about the chicory liquor. A super cool spot with good booze. Too bad they can't serve drinks there too. I bet the music festival is pretty awesome! #SupportLiveMusic

Yelp
This place is a great stop, then stay and enjoy. Everyone here is amazingly nice and helpful, plus you get to sample awesome spirits!

Yelp
I have never toured a Distillery so Cathead was a first for me. I toured on a Saturday afternoon and it was strange. People were outside grilling and there was no one offering directions on what was required of us. Finally, I asked someone. There was a fair selection of craft brews on tap and a lot of corn hole games. We sat around waiting for the tour and there was a party in progress. They joined the tour and finally there was a testing of the cat head products. I was not expecting to pay $10 for a teen that would not be able to taste and there was no glass or anything to take with you. I have been on craft beer tours and they usually give you a mug or a shirt for the price of the tour along with the tasting. Finally, the music was too loud to hear the tour and they were preparing for live music that night. I might try this again but the tour was so-so and I saw no food served so he grill must have been a private party.

Yelp
A very cool open area bar/distillery with beer on tap, games, and a distillery tour with a tasting at the end. All of their liquor was very smooth and very easy to drink. The beer on tap was a nice variety.

Sarah W.

Yelp
The tour was informative and the tour guide was great. The reason I only gave it 2 stars was because when we walked in they asked if we'd like to tour, which we said, 'sure' but they neglected to tell us that the tour and tasting was $15 a person!! I only found out as I was leaving and told to go to the bar to pay. I like the vibe of the place and their distillery offerings were okay but it would be nice if they were more up front about the cost. I even looked at their website and didn't see anything about cost for the tour.

Yelp
Wonderful venue. Happy to see such an investment in this part of Jackson. Lots of room, lots of games, etc. Decent crowd on certain days. But a few little things still need attention....such as 7 taps were not working out of 16. Why have beer on tap when the only working taps were domestic watery beers? And nothing local at all. I realize this is a distillery, but if folks are going to congregate here, they are not going to be shooting vodka all night. Get some good local brews, market the place and get folks down there to mingle and have a few beers. Such great potential, but the bar tenders did not seem to give a crap. Oh well.

Tony M.

Yelp
Awesome place! The atmosphere is laid back and relaxed. It's a bit small but the family friendly atmosphere makes up for it. The tour is very informative and interesting, and the guides are fun. It's awesome how they give you a shot glass, decals and Koozies for going on the tour. You get to taste samples of each of their products at the end, and they make some quality products. They have a bar with a great selection of ice cold craft beer on tap also. Definitely recommend the tour!!
