Câv - Review - Bethnal Green - London - The Infatuation

"Câv is run by people with cooler friends than us. We know that because the Bethnal Green wine bar will invite chef friends to host different kitchen residencies. The first will be Tasca, serving a Portuguese and Spanish menu. There’ll also be music, carefully curated wine lists, and a curving tiled bar. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Sinéad Cranna

Great place to come for lunch and drinks. Brilliant cocktails, food was lovely and service really attentive. Will come back for sure

We came for dinner but considering the small portion sizes, it didn’t quite justify the price. We each had the octopus and jambon beurre gildas (nice bites) then between the two of us, we shared the cauliflower tartlets (fine), pink fir potatoes (like patatas bravas which were tasty), cured monkfish (the flavour didn't work for me), cecina with ricotta (ok), black pudding with hen of the woods (good), bitter chocolate with olive oil and salt (didn’t wow) and the smoked maple bikini (surprisingly delicious). The peach gimlet and wines were also good. The service was friendly and helpful but occasionally inattentive as we had to flag staff several times.

Blimey. Just returned from Barcelona and this took me straight back. Incredible wine selection and small plate pairings. Every dish was a different experience. No joke of a lie. I felt like a capybara in a spa with every mouthful.

We had booked Cav for private hire for our engagement party next week and they have just cancelled on us last minute - one week out. The team offered very little support in trying to help us find a new venue and didn't seem that remorseful considering we had paid for the private hire in full and we are struggling to find an alternative. It's a shame as the staff were nice but they have handled this situation in the worst way which is so disappointing. After sending a long message asking for any help they could offer they replied saying" 'I've sent you a refund now' and that was it. I wouldn't recommend booking here for a private hire or large party to avoid the same disappointment!

This place is epic and a great addition to paradise row. Food was spectacular- drinks were delicious. Great atmosphere (if a bit empty on a Sunday night - maybe we were there early) and lovely staff. 10/10 and will be back!

Phenomenal flavours and excellent service, everything looks amazing too - i was roo busy drooling to think about pictures! Just 2 mins walk from Bethnal Green station. Definitely try the black rice sake and the octo-dog!

Style over substance. The food was experimental and some dishes were interesting, but not delicious. None of the food went together, so was a strange experience. The staff were nice but incredibly inattentive. The cocktail was watery. Really poor value for money, spent a lot and went home hungry. It is a really nice vibe for wine though.
