Never order delivery from this location! My order is constantly wrong anytime I order delivery from the cava website. I never received my side orders ever. I added roasted vegetables to my grains+greens bowl only to receive a Brussel sprout stalk, no actual Brussel sprouts and one tiny cauliflower piece, which I paid extra to have added. In person is fine but delivery orders the staff simply doesn’t care.

Google
The service is usually pretty great. Can get a little busy and the music can get a little loud which can make ordering a little challenging, but the crew is always friendly, fast, and on top of it. Everyone knows that Cava’s food is tasty, decently portioned, reasonably priced, and calorie positive… it’s the people that make it an enjoyable experience and the folks at the CoHi location are a good reason why this location does well.

I was there 3ish days ago. I was very happy with everything. Food was amazing. Service was amazing. And the atmosphere was very welcoming. I would recommend any individual to this place. I was handled by jade and she was very nice and friendly. If I could get her to help me every time I would.

Haha, The only sure fire way to get my 4 year old to eat. Great people who work here too, just very friendly and efficient. My wife lost her bracelet during our trip and the manager, Elmer really went above and beyond to try to help us find it. Watch out tho pita chips are pretty addictive.

Google
The team here is THE BEST. They are really friendly and make delicious bowls. My kids like it, and they always give some extra corn for one of my kids because that's her favorite topping. Cava in general seems among the healthiest fast casual options you can get, and you can customize things to please a lot of different tastes (which, as a parent, I appreciate) but there is also an extra level of dedication and care at this particular location that brings me unexpected contentment. Five stars is not enough... Thank you Columbia Heights Cava team!!!!!!!!!

Favorite fast casual lunch spot in Columbia Heights! Everyone is friendly, food is great and the whole experience is quick.

My partner and I LOVE to eat at this Cava! Elmer and Esmeralda are always super kind and friendly. The food is fantastic every time we come, which is usually weekly. Thank you all!!

Google
My favorite location in all of DC! The staff is always friendly and go the extra mile in customer service. Shout out to Elmer! He is the nicest guy and very cool for remembering my order! I stay coming back

Yelp
I appreciate how the staff explain what are in the ingredients as I was unfamiliar with the food. The ingredients are fresh and taste amazing. I appreciate the staff keeping the tables clean. Everytime I visit this local everything is organized even during the lunch rush hour.

Yelp
I came here at 5pm on a Friday. There were a few other patrons in the restaurant. I was eating alone and a man began staring at me and masturbating, then showed me his bare butt. I looked around to see if anyone would help me out, but the servers completely ignored him. When I tried to get up and leave, the man threw hand sanitizer in my eyes. Hard to believe no one stepped in to help, will definitely never come back

Yelp
You can never go wrong with this place!...It's fast, healthy, quality ingredients and most of all...delicious!! Even during the pandemic, I travel quite a bit back and forth from my office in the Arlington VA area to an office in DC for work; and often times in need of  "healthy" fast food options while on a limited time window for lunch. CAVA has slowly become one of those places that fits the bill. It's fast food, on the healthy-casual tip. The meals are definitely filling and the portions are more than enough for two to almost share in my opinion.....but, trust, there's no complaints there by me or my inner-fat kid belly! The food at CAVA is very fresh made of high quality ingredients. The meats, sauces and dressings are seasoned and has really good flavor. I have been to several CAVA locations around the city and they all are good....and the consistency is there too! This DC location is no exception to this observation too.  I typically get the the Splendid Greens & Saffron Rice Bowl with a mix of lentils, hummus-harissa dips, couscous, plethora of veggies...all with the Spicy Lamb Meatballs!....It is nothing but the truth!!  A healthy gospel of goodness in a bowl. This and the braised lamb has truly become my favorite proteins of them all.  It is so tender, juicy and full of flavor! In all, CAVA is an excellent and tasty meal at a great value --considering its the healthy way to go.   The price point is very reasonable given the large portions. The service is fast, friendly and efficient. * Yelp Elite Insider TIP: I am such a fan....in that I use their app frequently to earn rewards, discounts and free meals!  Also, you get a free bowl ($9.00+) credit for your Birthday!! Amen to that!!!!

Yelp
Your regular chain spot. The food is good of course, I had Cava for the first time like a month ago and I'm obsessed. This specific location is not bad, it's just a busy area so, fast paced and chill. Three stars because one of the food servers had an attitude, idky lol I was just trying to move down the line but we was being pretty rude to myself and two other customers.

Ruth S.

Yelp
I love Cava and have been to several locations. I ordered from here via Doordash and was sorely disappointed to receive either a half order or just a skimpy portion. Thing is, they especially skimped on LETTUCE! Many DoorDash reviews for this location have a similar complaint, so they know it's an issue and haven't fixed it. Go to any other location.

Yelp
This particular Cava I need to shoutout one of the younger employees with braces. I called and he brought my food out to me because I was running late and he was so kind! The food was also delicious and the restaurant is in a busy spot by the metro so very accessible. Thanks to this employee. Go Cava

Leo C.

Yelp
I always love ordering CAVA for lunch. It is always on time and they always get my orders right. They have good costumer service as well when I go order in person. Overall 10/10 definitely recommend.

Dalton G.

Yelp
Absolutely do not go to this cava location if you want your order correct. Here are the ordered they've messed up (obviously no longer going out of frustration): - first order since moving here, missing rice from bowl, missing pitas. - second order missing pitas. - third order, they actually got it right, faith restored. - fourth order, forgot my drink so they got it for me, checked for pita to be sure. Not there so asked for pita, employee walked away from me. No thanks, plenty of other options, which frankly seem busier for good reason.

Ciara T.

Yelp
Bertha is amazing and the food is too notch... clean and healthy environment. I live coming here for lunch when I'm working over here

Margaret K.

Yelp
Cava at Columbia heights is an excellant choice for a health , tasty, lunch or dinner. The freshly made fountain drinks like lemonade, cucumber min or strawberry citrus are cool refreshing and delicious. Their new steak pita is hearty and includes red pepper hummus, fresh veggies and feta. The place is cool and clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. Also there is a range of options for vegetarians.

Gashaw M.

Yelp
food is too oily if you don't give tips, they don't give you a good service. you can't be happy eating.

Aaron F.

Yelp
This CAVA is the best! The staff are wonderfully nice and professional even though it is usual very busy. I've been coming here for years and I really appreciate how kind and friendly they are. You must go! Thank you!

Yelp
It's been several years since I've been to a CAVA (in my defense, I was almost 10,000 miles away for most of that time). CAVA didn't used to be a fast casual brand; it used to be they had more traditional restaurants (a few of which still exist) and sold their products in specialty grocery stores (which you can definitely still find). However, it seems the fast casual model has really taken off for them, probably because they do it so well. They've got locations all over the area, and the country, but this one sitting right next to the Metro is eminently clean and convenient. A bowl offers such a bevy of options that are nutritionally varied and delicious. Plenty of vegetarian/vegan options are available, and they ask if you want a small pita with a bowl but otherwise you can easily be gluten free too. You can get grains or greens of several varieties, and their default option is to mix. Since my last visit, they've added black lentils as a more permanent "grain", which I accept despite the botanical inaccuracy because eating steamed lentils makes me feel better about eating all that hummus and cheese. It's all good though, and the customization options let me get what I want (crazy feta, hot peppers, couscous) and none of what I don't. They were slow on making falafel for some reason (while their other proteins were all plentifully sitting there), but I was not in a hurry and I was happy to get it freshly made. I do not remember their falafel being this delicious, but it had a soft interior with some whole chickpeas, just a bit of crispness on the outside, and a flavor that mixed perfectly with harissa. Not only that, but in exchange for the wait, they offered me (and the other falafel-interested customers in line) a free fountain drink. Thumbs up for customer service!

Yelp
This particular location is a total rip off. The employees working the bar put so little and act like you owe them! Perhaps to avoid refilling the tubs? The bar itself is dirty, messy, and the food looked and tasted old! I do not recommend this location what so ever
google avatar

Yelp
Normally, I have anxiety going to this location. The workers in the past have been rude and super skimpy when paying for extras :/ Today a very bright light was working. This person welcomed me with a smile and was so lovely. Food service is really difficult and I understand people can be exhausting, but it was lovely to feel like I at the very least got the amount that I paid for. This person was male presenting and wore 1 dangly cross earring, possibly Latino. I hope management reads this and awards this person accordingly. They deserve a raise.

Yelp
My love for CAVA is as endless as the ocean and I'm so not ashamed of it. I used to go a lot during my summers in DC and would actually crave it when I was back in LA. I always do a grain bowl with greens, falafel, harissa and regular hummus, shredded lettuce, pita crisps, and feta. For a meal under $10, it's super filling and tasty and very quick! Ingredients always seem pretty fresh and you can normally be in and out in about 30 minutes! The fresh pita is also always really good - it's soft and warm and makes the bowls that much better! Would totally recommend if you're in the mood for fast casual mediterranean food! It hits the spot and maybe you'll be dreaming of your next cava meal like me!

Yelp
I swear this is the fourth time we've ordered from this location and they've messed it up. They CONSISTENTLY forget toppings, forget our sauces, or give us the wrongs ones. I just don't understand why it is that difficult. They're never slammed busy when we walk in to pickup?

Yelp
I came in to this store location on 23/08/21, I was amazed of how fast the service was & to add also, how great the service was in general, I Love Cava Table & I always order the Falafel Sandwich, but This was a Cava Grill , So I had Jade assist me in helping me choose a alternative to eat & as to my regular menu , she recommended me this flavorful bowl & I loved it just as much ! thank you to her, As a customer who also worked in the food industry all I can say is, this store is Definitely well run by its Gm , will be back for sure.

Yelp
We wanted to try a nearby restaurant although they closed earlier than we thought so my wife mentioned Cava which she had been to with co-workers. I was unfamiliar with the place and what it was about but did the...oh crap it's one of those complicated places. Pick this or pick that, choose one of these, or you can pick one by name. A newbie stands there for about five minutes trying to figure out the menu and then just goes for it. It wasn't just me as my son in college did the same thing trying to figure out what to order. I couldn't tell you what I ordered if I had to repeat it other than it was meat, cheese, vegetables, and a sauce on a pita bread. They folded it over to be like a taco but it was a mess and fell open as soon as I set it down. I took a bite or two and it fell apart in my hand. It was good...and fresh...don't get me wrong but it was messy. It's not necessarily a hands only meal and it's not cheap either. They have six juices and assorted sodas but they're not your typical Coke or Pepsi products. I tried a Strawberry Citrus juice to start and it wasn't bad, although not very sweet. I also tried the Classic Lemonade which I found to be better tasting. There is seating but all tables were occupied so the three of us asked a guy if we could share a table as it had six chairs. My wife enjoys the place but I'd probably try something else if given other options.

Yelp
I've been eating here nearly 2-3 times weekly and have never managed to review it. But it's just SO GOOD that I wanted to share my compliments. My go-to is a super greens + spinach bowl, red pepper + harissa dip, chicken, allllll the veggie toppings (I love the just spicy enough fresno peppers and the awesome pickled onions), and the lemon herb tahini + green harissa sauces. Super healthy, low carb, super filling, and absolutely delicious. One reviewer didn't enjoy the place much but his review was for the little pita sandwiches. Don't get those and enjoy your experience here instead! For the same price, the bowl gets you MUCH more fold. If you don't want my salad only setup, you can add rice and lentils too, they're delicious but I basically keep it as a Mediterranean salad. There are a lot of sodas to pick from and you can always get free club soda if you ask for a water cup. One secret a lot of folks don't know is the lemon herb vinaigrette that's near the napkins and utensils - DELICIOUS! Make sure to sprinkle some on your bowl. Service here is always very efficient, friendly and caring - if they mix up your online order in any way, they are always awesome about fixing it or replacing your meal. It's a great place for regular fast healthy food!

Yelp
A large part of the experience in food establishments like this is the experience/service. After 5 or six tries, I give my honest opinion; we all could have a bad day, however this is consistent . Well, the language is a problem, then it's the ego/attitude; do not debate, it gets lost in translation and then they communicate amongst themselves, while your stuck wondering what was said. Aside from all the breathing over my food, the tossing- placement of your food in the container, has to be digested- you can digest anger, stress impatience, etc. Call your order in. It's convenient in Columbia Heights if you come late 9:30pm. OR ask for ANYTHING extra, it's an inconvenience. Be prepared for the eye roll, the huff, the side eye! It wouldn't feel so awkward if I was at a food kitchen, and they were just serving to get people out of the way, but im paying for this. Always got something to prove Shame

Domina M.

Yelp
Takin their sweet as time in here today, like someone has the time to wait... There is only 4 people in front of me and the employees in here are moving slow acting like they don't care, like someone has time to wait on them... word to the employer, motivate your employees to work faster when people are in their line... it's just common courtesy. Won't be back. Thank you

Lee G.

Yelp
I stopped by to get a bite to eat at CAVA today and was about to get a parking ticket when I explained to Esau the situation he became the hero of the day and gave me a chance to purchase quickly before I had a chance to get a ticket. What an incredible human being. Thank you!

Yelp
I love this place! I eat here at least twice a week. I usually stop by in the evenings to grab dinner to go before my 7pm meetings. The staff at this location is very friendly and get you through the line quickly. The items are always in stock and fresh. You can even sample items before making your decision. I've never had a bad experience here. Options for bowls made with greens or grains or both, different protein and various toppings and sauces. They also offer salads and pitas. The menu changes seasonally with some rotating items.

Mihretkeab M.

Yelp
If you're looking for a delicious meal on-the-go, you can't go wrong with cava, Their food is consistently tasty and well-prepared. The staff is friendly and efficient, making the ordering process a breeze. Whether you're in the mood for a quick bite or a full meal, this takeout spot is sure to satisfy your cravings.

Yelp
Absolutely love all the healthy options available. Great place to eat for people that have to eat a gluten-free diet! Love the black lentils, harissa dip, red pepper hummus dip, and the white sweet potatoes (they are sweet) Also love the drink flavors! My favorites are the cucumber mint lime and blueberry lavender.

Yelp
This location is right by the Columbia Heights Station. I ordered my food online and set pick up time for 6:15pm. I came in around 6:25pm and was greeted right away by the nice gentlemen and received the correct order. My pita wrap was great!

Yelp
Great Staff! Gerardo was so friendly and helpful while taking my order, it was fast and efficient, it was just great!

Yelp
First time patronizing CAVA. . . Pleasant, rustic, and clean decor that reminds me a lot of Chipotle. e.g.- built with basic materials that do not require a lot of maintenance: concrete floors, metal tables, stools permanently fixed to the floor, and raw wood trim. The staff was friendly, patient, and kind, as I have never eaten here before. They were knowledgeable of their menu and willing to give me a little extra rice at no additional charge ;0) I ordered the Grain Bowl with Saffron Basmatti rice & braised lamb. I loved lamb & their's was good! That alone, will have me returning to their restaurant. Lamb is not an easy meat to prepare and more often than not, food chains make a mess of it. Whether it's bc they're preparing it in large quantities or bc they aren't well versed on how to cook it I'm not sure :0P I added Kalamata olives, shredded romaine, tomato-cucumber salad, & white bean salad. Great choices that (in my opinion) completed the rice and lamb. I topped it off with SRIRACHA GREEK YOGURT which added just the right level of kick for me! I love spicy-flavorful foods...not spicy-hot foods (believe me there is a difference). The sriracha dressing definitely fit the bill for the former description! It made my dish that much better!!! I have to admit I was impressed by their wide array of beverage options. The Peach Green Tea was good. However I felt as if it could've use a tiny bit more sweetener and flavor. But in all fairness, they had sugar packets available. The Watermelon Mint was D-lish!!! The flavor was very enjoyable and it had the perfect amount of sweetness for my liking!!! All it needed was a few ice cubes to add the perfect level of chill ;0) The Basil Lemonade was just as good!!! I found it a bit more refreshing than the other 2; but with the perfect balance of flavor and sweetness... WELL DONE!!!!!

Yelp
I have been to Cava's Mezze restaurant a last year and I thought the food was fantastic. We had the Sunday Brunch Tapas, Wow! This time our daughter in law took us to Cava Grill. Totally love the fast food service without compromising on quality. The freshness, quality, and the look of all the food choices were amazing. Great selections of combinations, but too overwhelming. Drink selections are also great, from natural teas, fruit drinks, to sodas. I can sum it up by saying, Mediterranean food with a Subway counter line style.

Crystal F.

Yelp
Maybe put labels on the dressings because it was my first visit and I told them that as well. I read the list of items that were in the dressings and I chose two that fit my standards. I told the lady the two dressings and I read it to her and she asks me "oh the green sauce" and I said I'm not sure what color it is but the name is.... And I said do you not know which sauces are which and she shook her head no. So I said well you work here not me so maybe ask one of your coworkers.....am I wrong or is she wrong.... Yeah next time I'll go to Chipotle that's ridiculous....and on top of them putting a very tiny spoonful of ingredients like what is this toddler food

Matt E.

Yelp
This location is cramped, noisy, and generally unpleasant to eat at. It's like sitting in an echo chamber. I don't recommend it unless your getting food to go.

Yelp
I stopped by here after walking somewhat of a distance down 14th Street. There were many people out in the street, as today was not too hot and humid. I had ordered my lunch online, and when I arrived to the location less than 10 minutes later, everything was bagged up and ready to go. There was a steady flow of folks coming in to pick up their take out orders. I had ordered the Pita Wrap with brown basmati rice, and spinach greens. I couldn't resist some wonderful toasted vegetables. I am staying about another 3/4 of a mile down 14th, so I figured I was killing 2 birds with 1 stone. Awesome excersize and even more awesome wrap. I think it was the crazy feta spread that was included with the Pita. The more that I think about it, I should have included humus and dip!

Andres A.

Yelp
I made an order online, and when my food arrived I didn't have anything that I had ordered, I ordered 2 portions of pickled onion, 3 portions of tzatziki, 1 of cabbage slaw, and tomato, but only on the plate I had 5 pieces of cevilla, 3 tomatoes, no cabbage slaw, a serving of tzatziki, and 3/4 of the duck was spinach

Yelp
I am visiting from Texas and I tried Cava for the first time today. The customer service is great! Alston and Gerardo were definitely very welcoming and made my first experience a great one! the food is fresh and healthy (my favorite kind of food) and the grilled chicken was delicious! Can you open more in Texas please?!

Yelp
Stay away bad sensitive staff . I used to go there very often. I look like Latino but I am not . They think I am lying . Stay away from that location

Yelp
Not too much to comment on - these folk really kill it. A Mediterranean-styled restaurant, Cava is similar to Chipotle in the way you choose your entree. You go through the line and pick your base, meat/vegetable, sauces, dressings and garnishments. Overall, there's not really a combination that is bad. You can see the cooks making the food across the kitchen and everything looks and tastes fresh. Also an incredible place to go for vegetarians. The falafel is amazing and there are plenty of options for non-meat sauces, dressing, and toppings. Perhaps the best part is the plethora of condiments. From sriracha greek yogurt to spicy harrisa, there are so many different flavors to experiment with. Don't forget to check out one of their homemade drinks. They offer seasonal and traditional beverages that basically rock your world. Definitely recommend this for a quick and affordable meal.

Yelp
Like that cava feels healthier than other fast food places - so I eat here a few times each month. This location is convenient and cheap-use parking in the DC USA building. I haven't had to wait in too long a line here (compared to bethesda location) but beware that several times I've see people come in with a massive list of orders for co-workers.. Weird: when you order falafel on your salad at this location they give you exactly four; in Bethesda they give you five.. Tables are generally clean and I've never had to wait for a seat. Quality of cava's food never an issue - wish they would expand farther into NW!!

Yelp
I usually get salads at the Silver Spring location, but was working from home, as we all are, and ran over to the local Columbia Heights. Wow. Not even close to the quality of the Silver Spring location. The salad was HALF the size, the greens were wilted/old, and the pita was not fresh. Really disappointing.
google avatar

DJ J.

Yelp
This is a good place for fast casual and relatively healthy meal. You create flavorful salad, pitas or grain bowl and top with unto 3 Dips+Spreads add you proteins (we were able to pick 2 and get a half order of each) and then had you toppings and dressing. They also have some house-made juices. The place was small and all the tables were full but we were doing take out. The staff was very helpful and able to answer a few questions. I built a Greens + Grain bowl with a coup of dips and choose two proteins since one was almost out and they only had a half order of the Harissa Honey Chicken and Braised Lamb. The chicken was OK but a little dried out but the Lamb was very tender and tasty. All in all a good choice for a fast casual meal.

Tyler W.

Yelp
This is my least favorite cava location. They aren't very nice. Their customer service sucks. And they give you the least amount of food possible. They never have pita crisps. BUT you can count on them to always mess up your online order! Trust this bad review comes after numerous visits !
google avatar

Yelp
You'll a lot of people in line wearing workout clothes, but that doesn't mean you'll see people ordering rabbit food an cold pressed juice. This fast casual restaurant allows you to build bowls or sandwiches with fresh Mediterranean inspired ingredients. We've come a long way in a assembly like food chains since Chipotle came on the scene. I kid you not, I remember being impressed that Chipotle used romaine lettuce rather than iceberg! Don't get me wrong, I still love Chipotle bowl or a Roti rice plate, but Cava is the one that feels the most balanced and nutritious. In addition to romaine, you can choose arugula, spinach or my favorite, the supergreens. A mix of chopped kale, chicory, cabbage, broccoli and shredded disks of Brussels sprouts. All full of vitamins, folic acid and dietary fiber. Now comes the non-rabbit food part: scoops of jalapeño stuffed feta dubbed "crazy feta", spicy Harissa, hummus, or tzatziki create a flavorful creamy platform for a delectable serving of braised lamb or beef, lamb or beef meatballs, grilled chicken or falafel. All of their proteins are delicious except I find the falafel a little underwhelming, it's texture isn't crunchy enough. Then you get to put on a ton of Greek standards of olives, cucumber tomato salad, and feta but also non-traditional ingredients like banana peppers from Gordy's pickle jar (so good), sriricha yogurt or quinoa (more protein!). The place also has a nice variety of low sugar fruit waters and teas. Though I'd recommend getting a jar of Morningbyrd teas, especially the Montgomery mint. Morningbyrd is a fellow local food business that makes delicious ice teas. The tea is at a premium price, but it tastes great! Also, Cava always has a clean industrial space that's comfortable and soothing. Also all of their packaging is compostable. Affordable, delicious and nourishing food served fresh and quickly in a comfortable space by a responsible company. This is how a food chain should be.

Yelp
I love CAVA! When the mood strikes to fill myself with flavorful veggies, meat, and lots of sauces, there's literally nothing better. I usually get a grains/greens bowl with Splendid Greens and white rice, for the best of both worlds. There's a lot of wiggle room to customize a bowl how you like it. I've also had salads and grain bowls, but I've never gotten a pita sandwich there. In my opinion the bowls are best because you can really load up on the toppings! I almost always order mobile from this location on the CAVA app, and my dish is always done on time or early and pickup is easy. In the mobile app, you can request extra of certain ingredients. Don't forget to get the free side pita!! It's a great bonus- I'll either eat it with my bowl or save it for later.

Yelp
The CAVA on 14th is the bomb. I'm from NY and was looking for something yummy and unusual on Yelp. This place had great reviews and now I know why! We walked in and ordered. They let us taste the sauces before choosing and then after telling them we are in from NY they treated us to dinner. I highly recommend not only was the food out of the world. I will make it a point to go back this week. But, the customer service is stellar!

Yelp
If I could eat CAVA every damn day I would. I love their seasonal items. Its on my list to try the tomato soup w/ harissa.. right now as I type, Im drinking the Strawberry Mint Lemonade. Its so good! Keep on keepin'.

Valarie E.

Yelp
CAVA is not worth money. They are not clear on the menu. The woman that waited on me asked if i wanted half & half, i asked if there was an extra charge, she said no. I got sweet potatoes and falafel, when the cashier told me the total it was almost $15.00. After reviewing my receipt, i asked questions. Here is where the rea problem comes in, really couldn't understand a word that was coming out of her mouth and explanation was did not make sense. I reiterated what was discuss before order was taken, makes no sense at all. They need someone to make everything clear before customers order. Put prices up and have a menu handy with extra cost. Won't going their anymore They are way too high. Competition is greatly needed. I wish Mezeh would come into that area.

Yelp
I came to check out this (new for me) lunch spot. Initially I was daunted by the lack of pre-combined options, but I dove in and started picking out what I knew I liked - rice (basmati delicious), chicken (not very warm, but bite sized), pickled cabbage, pepper hummus and two other large spoonful-sized sauces, and a mix of diced veggies (... and not done yet), a cilantro-yogurt sauce. So basically, there are a lot of decisions to make when ordering here, but the final result of the eclectic mix in my bowl went deliciously well. Pretty healthy, local (or at least regional) ingredients, upper-end of the fast food pricing range. In the end, you feel good because it tastes good, and because it is good for the planet. Win-win!

Yelp
Definitely a fan of Cava! Fast, simple, affordable and delicious! I usually get the salad as the base for a healthier option. I love the "super greens" mix they have! The base can also be rice, pita, or a mix of greens & grains. For protein there is a variety of meats.. but i recommend the FALAFEL!! It is vegan per the website. (: The falafel is great. You can choose from a variety of "sauces" such as hummus, roasted red pepper hummus, roasted eggplant, yogurt etc. I love all the veggies you can add on your salad and they really load it up! From a salad bowl I usually get 2 meals. You can ask for free pita as well, if they don't offer it. Website clearly states what is gluten free / vegan, for those who need this information! The line goes fast here and service is efficient. One of the cashiers that served me the last time was super friendly and sweet. I love the look/feel of the store with the large wooden tables. Overall, I love Cava!!! Great "take out" meal that is reasonably-priced and can be made really healthy if you choose lots of veggies!! This location is conveniently located right out of the Columbia Heights metro as well.

Yelp
Chipotle done better...with Mediterranean food! More and more, people are learning about the virtues of Mediterranean food: it's fresh, it's DELICIOUS, and it's also very healthy. Cava Mezze Grill serves all that up in an inexpensive, accessible, and fun way while also keeping an eye out for Mother Earth. Your meal is prepared assembly line-style with you telling the kitchen staff member what you want as it's being made. You choose your base (rice bowl, pita wrap, etc.), your spread (hummus, tzatziki, etc.), your "protein" (grilled chicken, lamb, beef, etc.), and your topping(s) (feta cheese, chopped tomato-cucumber, olives, etc.). It's all very fresh and delicious! You then have your choice of drinks, and maybe a dessert! I got a pita wrap with the tzatziki spread, grilled chicken, and feta cheese with chopped tomato-cucumber. Awesome! I got a fountain drink and, for dessert, a bag of loukoumades (4) to split with my brothers. (Loukoumades are marketed as "Greek doughnuts", but they seemed more like funnel cake balls.) The loukoumades were good! Something that I was impressed by was the fact that everything except for the metal food tray and the meal basket was compostable. That is very cool and I hope more businesses follow Cava Mezze Grill's lead! The only place where there was room for improvement was with the metal serving tray. It was so slippery, I almost lost my food! It's a great place, check it out!
