Cavalieri

"Between Place du Trocadéro and la Muette, this smart, contemporary venue offers another spin on timeless Italian classics: aubergine parmigiana, fritto misto, a smoked version of vitello tonnato, linguine alle vongole... The interior sports Sicilian walnut furnishings, two-tone Italian marble and hand-painted tableware reminiscent of the Amalfi coast." - Michelin Inspector

This beautiful restaurant has a very nice ambiance, and a great looking classical Italian menu. I was in a truffle mood so started with arancini with a light topping of shaved truffles, followed by the rigatoni maison à la truffle with a generous topping of shaved truffles. Both were well presented and delicious, but I rate the food 4/5 as neither quite lived up to what they could have been. The arancini could have been made a bit lighter (although I know this is not meant to be a light dish), perhaps with more peas inside. It felt like it was relying too much on the truffles. The rigatoni dish was overpowered with a heavy truffle sauce. For my palette, a much lighter and brighter sauce would have made both the pasta and the shaved truffles stand out as they deserved. Nonetheless, I look forward to returning to try other dishes.

Truly amazing experience!! Greeted by a friendly staff upon arriving, the atmosphere is very cozy, friendly and welcoming. Wine was amazing, we had the Italian Ciropicariello Fiano di Avellino!! Wow, crisp, refreshing and delicious. Wife had the Lobster Pasta and I had the Truffle Pizza. Both exceeded expectations and are amazing choices! Overall, highly recommend and the people are the best part!!!

The food is so tasty in Italian style. Pizza is so good, such a real truffle taste. Salad is fresh and crispy. Pasta cabonara was a bit hot and spicy , such an interesting taste .

After seeing this restaurant on the Michelin guide we had very high hopes but they were soon lost by the time we departed… We arrived at 7pm for our reservation to a restaurant with the lights off and the stafff having a coffee and not ready for service. We were seated initially for 7 where as our reservation was for 8. This resulted in our eighth person being very cramped in the corner/having no place at the table. The service was no frills but punctual once we were seated and our food arrived within 5-10 minutes of us ordering; almost too quick, like they wanted us gone… Our biggest mistake was asking for 3 glasses of wine, then changing to a bottle of house wine for ease. We subsequently received a bottle of red wine, I vivino’d the wine and saw the RRP. So I asked the waiter how much the bottle was, he then informed me €500 (I was expecting closer to €50). I immediately informed the waiter there must be a mistake and we just wanted a bottle of the wine they serve by the glass (one of the cheapest). However, after speaking to his manager (which I don’t think he did, because I would have expected the manager to come over to resolve an issue in a reputable restaurant) we were told nothing could be done. After the incident we left immediately. However disgruntled we are, it has made for a good story in the future and a valuable lesson to not order house wine in France! Even if the wine incident did not occur we probably would have not returned as the restaurant felt very soulless and the staff lacked enthusiasm. But if you’re desperate for a quick pizza and pasta then you won’t be wholly disappointed on the food quality.

Amazing food and service. The truffle pizza was so delicious.. you must try it. Or any other pizza. It was a perfect nice Italian pizza. Probably the most authentic one ive ate in my life. I loved this restaurant.

Incredibly rude experience from the host. It all started well just until one of the shellfish meal was uneatable, sand everywhere. This can happen with a bad batch but the actual reaction of the host was extremely confrontational. Other tables had the same problem. It ended up with a police call, worst experience in a long time.

16th District location. Absolutely very rude behavior from the host. We wanted to order an appetizer first to start before deciding on the main dish. He said we couldn’t. When we chose to leave instead, he told us to go to McDonald’s. Unacceptable! I replied, though we are from California, we don’t eat at McDonald’s.

Great experience: fresh food, good service. Had the best pasta a la truffe! Highly recommended
