After seeing this restaurant on the Michelin guide we had very high hopes but they were soon lost by the time we departed…
We arrived at 7pm for our reservation to a restaurant with the lights off and the stafff having a coffee and not ready for service.
We were seated initially for 7 where as our reservation was for 8. This resulted in our eighth person being very cramped in the corner/having no place at the table.
The service was no frills but punctual once we were seated and our food arrived within 5-10 minutes of us ordering; almost too quick, like they wanted us gone…
Our biggest mistake was asking for 3 glasses of wine, then changing to a bottle of house wine for ease. We subsequently received a bottle of red wine, I vivino’d the wine and saw the RRP. So I asked the waiter how much the bottle was, he then informed me €500 (I was expecting closer to €50). I immediately informed the waiter there must be a mistake and we just wanted a bottle of the wine they serve by the glass (one of the cheapest). However, after speaking to his manager (which I don’t think he did, because I would have expected the manager to come over to resolve an issue in a reputable restaurant) we were told nothing could be done.
After the incident we left immediately. However disgruntled we are, it has made for a good story in the future and a valuable lesson to not order house wine in France!
Even if the wine incident did not occur we probably would have not returned as the restaurant felt very soulless and the staff lacked enthusiasm.
But if you’re desperate for a quick pizza and pasta then you won’t be wholly disappointed on the food quality.
