The Best Restaurants In Aruba - Aruba - The Infatuation

"Caya means “street” in Papiamento, Aruba’s national language—a fitting name, seeing how one of the owners grew up on the street where the restaurant is located. This Latin-Caribbean spot, located inside a garden off a quiet street in downtown Palm Beach, is one of the island’s newest restaurants, and they’re mixing up Aruba’s at-times stuffy dining scene with a menu that’s good enough to stand out in any major city. They have a strong bar menu, especially their take on a mojito, La Chula, made with clarified lime juice and topped with mint foam. And everything is consistently well-executed: order the tostadas, tostones, or empanadas before moving on to the arroz marinera, which is large enough to feed 2-3 people, or the pescado criollo that’s been wrapped and cooked in a plantain leaf. And don’t skip their tres leches, topped with crispy meringues, passion fruit gel, and a buttery cookie tuile." - jacqueline dole

Our last night in Aruba, we had a wonderful dinner at CAYA House Restaurant Aruba. We were immediately greeted by Gleysh, who checked in with us throughout the evening, along with our fabulous waitress, Milaidy. We were also lucky enough to meet Chef Urvin Croes—the mastermind behind all the incredible dishes we were about to enjoy. Before our appetizers, we were served a warm cheese bread that was absolutely delicious. For beverages, we ordered the Warawara. Choosing appetizers was difficult because everything looked amazing, so we went with two: the scallop ceviche & the grilled octopus, which was paired with tasty potatoes and the most wonderful vinaigrette. For our main course, we tried the pork tomahawk served with three different sauces. We ended the night with the Caribbean Black Forest, which was the perfect amount of sweet. Top-notch experience from start to finish.

My husband and I went to CAYA for dinner for our last night in Aruba. We were immediately impressed with the gorgeous ambiance. We each had cocktails that were impeccably crafted and delicious. We did the $69 special where we each got to pick an appetizer, entree and dessert (a steal of a deal for how nice this restaurant is). We first got a complementary serving of bread and a delicious buttery spread. It was *so good* we ended up ordering another serving. We got the scallops and octopus for our appetizers. Both were delicious and beautifully plated! For entrees we got the duck and corvina. I preferred the corvina. The duck was good but we agreed that the beet sauce overwhelmed everything else on the plate in terms of flavor. Overall this is a fantastic place for a romantic dinner for two. Our server was attentive and incredibly kind. There were some children there but I wouldn’t say this is the best place for kids due to the sophisticated menu. We look forward to coming back here!

Loved Caya House! Andrea was a great waitress! We got complimentary bread that was delicious, ordered the crab shu mai and salad for appetizers, lamb and duck as entrees and brownie for dessert. The restaurant was nicely decorated and the staff were very attentive and frequently checked up on us. Would absolutely recommend it if you visit Aruba.

Such a great experience. The atmosphere is great and it’s just a short walk from the resorts. They've recently restructured the menu, but everything was delicious and I recommend doing the elevator meal combo which includes an appetizer, main course and dessert. Everything was amazing but the desserts were especially wonderful. Thank you dear Caya house. Until next time!

Our experience at CAYA was by far the best restaurant experience we had in Aruba. The setting is lovely, regardless of where you are sitting. Our server, Kimberly, was a real pro. She was personable, knew each dish intimately, and gave great suggestions along the way. The food was presented beautifully and each bite was amazing. The dishes were so interesting that we had to ask about the seasonings. We loved the simple pricing model as it took price out of the equation. At the same time the prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food. We can’t recommend CAYA enough!

WOW. What a meal. We did the $69pp special and it was sooooo much food. We were definitely super full at the end that we had to take our dessert to go but it was one of the best meals we’ve had. Felt like a Michelin star restaurant. For vegetarians - highly reccomend the black bean hummus app and the mushroom rice main. It was like a paella. So flavorful and tasty!!!

Vegan options were amazing…service was superior!! Dessert was one of my favorites, but I also loved their fresh salads and bread. We celebrated two birthdays there and were treated so special. From the waitress/waiter to the manager, everyone was really kind and made sure we were taken well care of in the establishment.

40 US dollars plus 15% service fee for a main dish. I recently dined at this restaurant and, overall, had a positive experience with a few notable caveats. The food is genuinely good, with well-executed dishes and fresh ingredients that make each plate memorable. The service stood out as especially attentive. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and quick to respond to requests. However, the restaurant is undeniably expensive. While the quality of food and service is high, the prices are steep—even for a special occasion. If you’re looking for value for money, you may find the cost hard to justify for a regular night out. **Menu Currency Transparency** One important point for future diners: the menu prices are listed in US dollars, not in Aruba florins. Unfortunately, this is not clearly stated anywhere on the menu or by the staff, which could easily lead to confusion for those expecting local currency. This lack of transparency is disappointing, especially given the already high prices. In short, expect excellent food and attentive service, but be prepared for a hefty bill. If you decide to visit, make sure you’re aware that the prices are in US dollars to avoid any surprises when the check arrives.
