Caya House - Review - Palm Beach - Aruba - The Infatuation

"Caya means “street” in Papiamento, Aruba’s national language—a fitting name, seeing how one of the owners grew up on the street where the restaurant is located. This Latin-Caribbean spot, tucked inside a garden off a quiet street in downtown Palm Beach, is one of the island’s newest restaurants, and they’re mixing up Aruba’s at-times stuffy dining scene with a menu that’s good enough to stand out in any major city. They have a strong bar menu, especially their take on a mojito, La Chula, made with clarified lime juice and topped with mint foam. And everything is consistently well-executed: order the tostadas, tostones, or empanadas before moving on to the arroz marinera which is large enough to feed 2-3 people, or the pescado criollo that’s been wrapped and cooked in a plantain leaf. And don’t skip their tres leches, topped with crispy meringues, passion fruit gel, and a buttery cookie tuile." - Jacqueline Dole

40 US dollars plus 15% service fee for a main dish. I recently dined at this restaurant and, overall, had a positive experience with a few notable caveats. The food is genuinely good, with well-executed dishes and fresh ingredients that make each plate memorable. The service stood out as especially attentive. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and quick to respond to requests. However, the restaurant is undeniably expensive. While the quality of food and service is high, the prices are steep—even for a special occasion. If you’re looking for value for money, you may find the cost hard to justify for a regular night out. **Menu Currency Transparency** One important point for future diners: the menu prices are listed in US dollars, not in Aruba florins. Unfortunately, this is not clearly stated anywhere on the menu or by the staff, which could easily lead to confusion for those expecting local currency. This lack of transparency is disappointing, especially given the already high prices. In short, expect excellent food and attentive service, but be prepared for a hefty bill. If you decide to visit, make sure you’re aware that the prices are in US dollars to avoid any surprises when the check arrives.

THIS IS THE BEST RESTAURANT IN ARUBA! We came here on our last day , but if I would discover it sooner I would end up coming here every night. Everything is excellent starting from service and ending with dessert. We wanted to be inside with ac , they didn’t have table but told us to wait at the bar and within couple minutes set up a table just for us! Incredible! All the food was so unique and delicious, I can’t even describe. And I’m very hard to please. In the end all the stuff sang happy birthday and it was really sweet!

This place deserves all the stars and great reviews because it's a rarity to find food that's this incredible! I'm a big foodie/cook/restaurant lover and this has to be one of top 3 places I've eaten based on creativity and flavor. The ceviche is a MUST, my husband and I were blown away by it. You can get an app, entree and dessert for $55 a person which is SO affordable for the quality and the portion size. We boxed a lot up, made breakfast with it then had the rest for dinner the next day. The tres leches cake is so delicious, it's worth it, just get it! Great ambiance, great service, beautiful outdoor dining. Our server was very kind and attentive. We will absolutely visit again. This place is a gem, you won't be disappointed!

Google
beautiful restaurant with friendly service. we did the prefix which allowed for a choice of each course. overall the food was good with the desserts a bit sweet. the gluten free bread that comes with the meal was surprisingly good and the scallop ceviche is a must try. I thought my corvina fish was cooked perfectly but the rice that comes with it was too salty.

This was one of the best overall meals I have experienced. This has to be the best restaurant on the island. When you walk in, it feels secluded and tropical. I appreciate the attention to details everywhere you look from the decor to the drinks to the food. You can tell the chefs are well trained and experienced. Everything course we had blew my mind. Strongly recommend this!

Absolutely amazing dinner & cocktails. The atmosphere was contemporary and relaxing. We did prix fixe - Caribbean hummus and beef tataki chino Latino to start, then the corvina and the creole fish, and last but not least the tres leches and enyucado to end the meal. Everything was perfectly cooked and so flavorful. All the staff was wonderful and attentive, but our waitress Cesarina was engaging and helpful. The space is beautiful - wonderful for date night and small groups.

When you ask someone what their favorite restaurants in Aruba are, I am confused how Caya House is not in the top 3 of that list! We found this place from google maps, and we are so glad that we did. The restaurant and outside eating area is very nice, the service is fantastic and every single dish was absolutely delicious. We could not recommend this place more and cannot wait to be back!
