Caya House - Review - Palm Beach - Aruba - The Infatuation

"Caya means “street” in Papiamento, Aruba’s national language—a fitting name, seeing how one of the owners grew up on the street where the restaurant is located. This Latin-Caribbean spot, tucked inside a garden off a quiet street in downtown Palm Beach, is one of the island’s newest restaurants, and they’re mixing up Aruba’s at-times stuffy dining scene with a menu that’s good enough to stand out in any major city. They have a strong bar menu, especially their take on a mojito, La Chula, made with clarified lime juice and topped with mint foam. And everything is consistently well-executed: order the tostadas, tostones, or empanadas before moving on to the arroz marinera which is large enough to feed 2-3 people, or the pescado criollo that’s been wrapped and cooked in a plantain leaf. And don’t skip their tres leches, topped with crispy meringues, passion fruit gel, and a buttery cookie tuile." - Jacqueline Dole
