Where To Eat When You’re Trying To Not Spend Money

"Barbecue restaurants can get pricey, and you’ll spend a bit of money at Little Haiti’s Bon Gout if you go for the $15 brisket dinner or the $20 whole fried fish. But what you should do instead is order the zakos, which is this Haitian spot’s version of tacos. They come in orders of three (for less than $10) and are filled quite generously with chicken, brisket, or the wonderful Haitian specialty called griot - cubes of pork that are slowly cooked before being fried nice and crispy." - ryan pfeffer

Talk about restaurants in gas stations - this is a Haitian spot. To tell the truth we just had the fried chicken legs with plantain. So good. Made to order, hot and fresh. The chicken was nice and meaty done just right. The plantain is known elsewhere in town as tostones. They have a nice menu of lots of other dishes. There are a half dozen tables with seats if you want to eat in, no atmosphere at all, but the food is really good.

I am so happy I found this place❤️ Ordered Chicken meal - paid $14 (tax included). It was delicious! All meals come with rice and plantain and you could choose if you want white or brown rice with beans. You get huge portion of homemade Haitian food. I call it “Comfort Meal” 👌 Will definitely come back again!

Ey yo look at this picture and tell me if this doesn't look as good as I know it does. First time coming here but surely not the last. I've visited several carribean restraunts across miami and this one HITS DIFFERENT. The location restraunt is clean with good atmosphere and helpful staff. I write this with saliva building at the corner of my mouth . This food smell phenomenonal . Update : Theyve been hiking their prices up to ridicoulous amounts. That plate in picture used to be 13 now its 17 . Their pricing out there main demographic that eats this food. So I wonder how they plan to stay long term if the averge black american / hatian american can goto chef creole and pay 15 percent less for the same food. If you've ever seen my previous reviews on most restraunts or business throughout miami. You know I don't B.S my reviews and I tell the facts. The facts are Cesibon in miami is an amazing unspoken gem in the city 🙌 P.S I know this doesn't matter to most people but what I thought was super neat was the pricing on food here. Most carribean spots tend to overcharge while providing low quality and quantity. But these folks have appropriate pricing that matches what id consider a generous serving size for great quality food .

I’ve been eating here since a kid and the food keeps me coming back every week. I especially love the crispy fried chicken and the spicy pikliz. I love the look on my friends’ faces when I introduce them to the mouth watering flavors of this food! 10/10 highly recommend <3

Mouthwatering food that came out quick. Affordable and chill atmosphere. Ate with the family cafestyle at the tables.

It’s disappointing how some establishments forget that customer service is just as important as the food they serve. Unfortunately, I didn’t even get the chance to try anything at this location because the service—or lack thereof—completely turned me away. When I walked in, there was an older man standing near the front, not behind the counter, watching TV. I assumed he was a customer waiting for his order. He didn’t greet me—just nodded. It wasn’t until I approached the counter that he slowly made his way behind it, still saying nothing. His focus remained on the television. When I asked if any items were unavailable, he barely looked up and simply pointed while saying, “Oxtails.” That was it. No welcome, no engagement, no interest in serving a customer. It was around 8:45 PM—close to closing time—so it was clear he was just ready to be done for the day. I had actually planned to place a large order and sample several items from the menu, but that experience made it clear my business wasn’t valued. So, I walked out. Customer service makes all the difference. Unfortunately, this place failed before the food even had a chance.

Google
Some of the best Haitian food! Have been to o many Haitian restaurants in the area and nowhere is as consistent or good as this place. My go to to Haitian food in South Florida. Really love the stew Turkey and oxtail

Eric Toribio

Google
A hood spot with no frills and excellent food. annoyingly enough they tend to run out of the best items. Stewed oxtail and black rice was amazing. The stew sauce was bright and lightly fatty. Oxtail was perfectly tender. The spicy cabbage was def spicy but also had a perfectly fruity and acidic flavor

Yelp
This was my first time trying this local Haitian spot, and it was a great experience. I called to place an order for pickup, and while they don't usually allow that due to no-shows, the phone representative made an exception for me. Their food options were somewhat limited because of high demand, but I managed to order the fried turkey (tassot) with rice, beans, and plantains. After tasting it, I went and ordered a 2nd plate. Everything was absolutely delicious! The flavors complemented each other perfectly--the turkey was cooked just how I like it, and the plantains, while not fully green, were perfectly prepared and tasted great Everything was made to order, fresh, and served hot. I'll definitely be back and highly recommend this place to family and friends.

Yelp
Im not going to lie, this use to be the spot!!! I don't know if it's just run down over the years but this is not it. The service was Ghetto and after I payed for my food that's when they told me there's no fried plantain only sweet plantain, which is the main thing I wanted. And inside the restaurant looks terrible. The one table they have that you can sit at was broken. Everything just look dirty. And please throw away the cook's apron because everything was splattered on there. I hate to leave reviews like this but they have to do better. The food taste old. I should've just left.

Yelp
I walked up to the counter and was greeted by a young lady (she was new), she was very nice. Told her I wanted to order 20 pieces of fried chicken, she wasn't sure she could ring it up that way but the chef walked up and told her how. The chicken was ready in 5-10 minutes, it could have been seasoned a little bit more but I thought it was still good and it came out hot and fresh. I would got back for more for the next event I go to. It cost roughly $30 and came with pikliz (spicy pickled cabbage/carrots)

Yelp

Yelp
A solid Haitian food spot. It's one of the OGs that made a comeback. The hubs grew up eating at this spot but it was at a different location. Overall I was happy with it. The grio was decent, the sauce was well done and the pikliz was also hitting! We devoured the banan (plantains). The rice wasn't too impressive to me but I'm Haitian so I'm picky about my rice. I have high standards bcuz I believe Haitian rice is the best. The service was very good and it was a cafeteria style ambiance. This is more of a takeout spot so there's Not a lot of seating room but enough. If they added some art work it would really liven up the place and make you want to dine in. I would like to try their chicken next since I heard that's what they're famous for.

Yelp
Seamless ordering & parking available - easier said than done for take out in Miami. My food took like 10 minutes maybe. Not the best griot I've had in my life but the portion was plentiful and the pikliz was piklizing if you know what I mean. $14 for lunch that I had leftover for dinner. They have a small area to sit if you want to eat in - no glitz and glamor there, but that's fine by me.

Yelp
Cecibon is back!!! The food was good, it could've been better only because I felt the chicken was fried in old grease, so it didn't seem fresh. The picklees were not fresh at all. Once you open the container you could smell that it was the verge of turning sour. But I'm not knocking on the prices, we got a platter of 12 plantains and 10 wings $17.00 I believe. Cheaper than Popeyes - I think we just got an off night. I will return and try them again.

Yelp
Love, Love, Love! Food was extremely fresh. The employees were extremely kind and attentive. I felt like I was part of the family. More importantly the Ambiance was heightened by the cleanliness of the establishment. This is a Miami spot you have to check out it never disappoints. Flavor, service, tradition 10's across the board! There's these Cajun meatballs you have to try. The flavor is something special and they are cooked to order. Also if you like pork try the griot and there pickles( spicy Haitian coleslaw) unmatched. I would recommend this restaurant anytime! On bidness lol!

Yelp
This was a miss for me sadly today. I haven't eaten from here in years, and revelry someone bragged about the food, particularly the griot. Location is next to the gas station, have a few seats to eat. The customer service was excellent, but food was a "miss". Griot was very hard and dry with no seasoning, red bean rice was bland. Didn't meet my expectation for the "griot", but hopefully the wings are still a hit!

Yelp
I am a proud Haitian-American. I love our culture and our food, but Cecibon Restaurant is not the place for an introduction to our cuisine. It especially hurt when I was accompanied by a non-Haitian whose experience was worse because he got sick from the akra. How embarrassing! The red flags were there, but I regrettably chose to ignore them to support my community. 1. When your name screams Haitian, but you position yourself as a Caribbean restaurant. 2. When you misspell akra on the menu. Where did that "c" come from? 3. When you only make diri djon djon (Haitian black rice) once a week. 4. When you have to keep checking inventory and I grow increasingly frustrated, ready to take my business elsewhere. I ultimately ordered a chicken combo, the poulet dinner, tassot kabrit dinner, and ackra. What happened to the traditional spices? With our return flight just hours away, we ate the food for fuel and not for its flavor. It was such a disappointment that we eventually tossed the rest. What's the point of serving food at low prices if it lacks quality? I wish Florida would adopt the letter grading system for restaurants because I would feel more at ease before I dig in with a fork. It just did not look or feel clean and we cannot forget the near slip and fall in the bathroom. Ugh!

Yelp
Have you ever wondered where's the best fried chicken in Miami? Welp, I got you. This chicken is HANDS DOWN the best fried chicken and it never disappoints. If you're from Miami and know about the original Cecibon, let me tell you, it's just like what we grew up on. Amazing, Amazing, Amazing! 9.8 out of 10

Yelp
My friend and I traveled to Miami to attend Afro-Nation, but knew we just had to find some good Haitian food! I have so many Haitian friends but never tried Haitian food (smh). I asked for the black rice with griot but unfortunately they were out of black rice . My friend got the red beans and rice with fried goat. When I tell y'all after the first bite we both looked at each other with tears welling up in our eyes this food was 10 out of 10!!!! The plate was reasonably priced and came with a large serving of rice, two tostones (fried plantain, but savory), pickled spicy cabbage and then our protein. Lord have mercy!!! Haitian cuisine has quickly moved to top 3 fav foods for me!! I'm definitely coming back to this place!! The restaurant is located next to a gas station and the service is mid, little to no communication from the workers haha. Your questions are met with blank stares, but anybody that knows what's up, knows that's where the best food is usually at . Please stop by this place and support them because they are serving quality dishes here!!!

Yourhighness ..

Yelp
I love this restaurant since I've found out about it! I promiseeee you you'll love it too! My go to is the drumsticks and green plantain and pikliz. Thank me later!! So so so so good. Like I eat my food in the parking lot good

Yelp
Poor online customer service and no help calling the store directly. Don't get me wrong, the Haitian Food here is easily 4 or 5 star for the staples (Griot, Fried Chicken, Turkey, Stew Chicken, and their seafood), although I tried their ox-tail and was very disappointed. But the worse thing about them is their online service. They won't take orders over the phone, they're firm on that. Yet their website still shows under construction and if you want to place a Catering Order, there are no Catering options on Door Dash or Grubhub. So if you want to place a catering order for pickup, you're out of luck. So wanting to place a catering order for pickup today, I'm forced to order from another Haitian restaurant, sadly I'm out of options with CeCi Bon. They really need to fix that if they really want to grow their business. They just lost this sale (for a large Catering Order.

Yelp
I have two other reviews to write, I'll get to it once I'm done with this specific review. Today was another after work special where I work all these hours nonstop and end up starving at the end. As I was driving up Biscayne for two seconds I decided to make a left turn on 36th St up to North Miami Ave because I had a craving for Cecibon fried chicken. If you know Cecibon from way back in the day, the 90s and early 2000s, you know their fried chicken was like crack. I didn't know what they were doing to their chicken back then but I wanted it all the time, especially when my mom was shopping at Zubi market, it was right there a block or two away. Anyway, when they shut down in the early 2000s, 06 or 07, I don't remember exactly when but I hurt they were gone. When they came back years later in 2016 I think in Miami Gardens on 2nd Ave, me and my former co-worker decided to give them a try. I was going in with high hopes only to be disappointed. The flavor of the chicken was nowhere near what it was way back in the day. I hated it, at that moment I was wondering if they were the same people. Safe to say, I never went back. I don't know if they shut down again to reopen, that's besides the point. I went today just to try them out again after so many years. Back in April, my friend, her boyfriend and I were having a discussion about good Haitian food. In the mits of the conversation he mentioned Cecibon. Months later, there I ordered the infamous fried chicken and banan peze and a side of Mac and cheese. One thing about this place, I can tell you that their lunch specials are cheap and I'm here for it, dammit! The flavor of the chicken is not the same as it was before, it was decent, good enough to eat, it's just not as spectacular as it was before. I haven't tried the Mac and cheese yet, by the looks of it, I can already tell it will be decent. The inside of the restaurant is not the best looking but it was clean from what I could see. There was loud music playing outside and that's because they were having a toy drive. Anyhoooooo, I'm talking too much, will I be back yes, to try the other food to see what they are about outside of the fried chicken. Later! P.S this is the next day, the Mac and cheese was ok, nothing to rave about, I've had better.

Yelp
This is my second time ordering Food there and let me tell you, first time was amazing (good food, fresh food, great portion... good service) and few months, 4 to 5 i would say, i went back there today and it is a total disaster. The fried banana tasted really bad and it felt like they were dipped in the oil on cold temperature, the rice and bean had a very bad smell like some left over for days, the stew chicken was disgusting and .... Not to mention that the fried chicken that my son ate was horrible. Once i took the smell of the rice, we threw all the food in trash. I called to let them know and that girl with braces just waited me to finish talking and said " I heard you " like i was lying. I asked to speak to a manager and she repeated her self to me with the same exact words " I heard you ". She did not even bother to apologize and made me feel like she did not care... I had to report this for everyone to know what happened and it is really bad to do this to me specially who drive 21 minutes from my house to go get that food.

Yelp
Amazing food, pikliz was my favorite great on everything. I also got sweet plantains and Mac and cheese also great.

Yelp
Before passing me the box, she opened the lid to show me the food-- and it was like looking into a treasure chest. The plantains shimmered gold on a bed of a thousand perfect little grains of rice. The chicken showed ruffles of tenderness. I couldn't wait to bite my gold. Plantains crispy, slightly dry but nothing the pikliz couldn't fix. The red beans cooked with a lovely, peppery herb. Is it cuban oregano? All together the dish shared a savoriness that made me feel warm and nourished. A dish for a Don.

Yelp
This place is different from the original but the food is still good. I haven't been in a few month and now that this review popped up its time to go back.

Yelp
I discovered this place thanks to my wife's coworker who knows the place and brought her food from there. The place itself is not a fancy restaurant or anything like that. It's more like a laborer's takeout place. It also shares the space with a gas station. The food usually takes about 15 minutes to be prepared so I highly recommend you to order ahead. They don't take phone orders but you can place your orders through their website. That website is www . Cecibonrestaurant . Com. My favorite dish to order is their spicy turkey meatballs with rice and red beans. So delicious. This dish is about $13 but easily can feed two. I do not share but save the rest for next day or later that day. Lol.

Yelp
I remember eating at cecibon years ago when they were at the original location which is now a coffee shop. I was glad they had the location in Fort Lauderdale though. When i found out they were back in Miami, i couldn't order fast enough! The fried chicken. Griot. Rice. Sospwa. Extra pikliz please! The best. Very friendly. Clean and efficient. If you want to experience great haitian cuisine, look no further!

Horck M.

Yelp
Wouldn't recommend if it's first time trying Haitian food. Personally will never go back customer service was extremely slow, they said the food will be ready in 10 mins and I was still there 1h later. I order 2 griot with white rice after sitting there for hours i went up to ask what was taking so long that's when they bought me 2 plates with rice and red beans I took it cause I was frustrated and I didn't want to be there any longer. The griot was somewhat good and then everything else went to waste I truly don't like wasting food because I know there is people back in my country that are starving. I don't even like writing reviews but this was truly a joke to Haitian cuisine.

Yelp
Tired..hungry..thirsty...really wanted griot and legume..no problem ordering...39 minutes later..still no food! Man...give me my money back...sad!

Yelp
The food was really good and fresh today. The meatball was not dry , the rice and beans was delicious and the plantain was done right.

Yelp
Food is always good. Love the oxtails and always fast service. I eat here every time I'm in town
