This place is not extremely good or horrible, it is bare minimum. Nice staff with clean and fresh quality food made on the spot which is nice. The downside is there's no indoor seating and takes a long time to prepare and kind of pricy. I would recommend stopping by if you're in the area, but by no means go out of your way. Perfect for lunch, break or grabbing a quick bite alone because lack of comfortable seating.

Located right outside manhattan and in the South of Bronx. A fast developing neighborhood and beautiful art murals everywhere. Reminds me of Williamsburg to be honest. Ceetay is also on a block where they constantly shut down their street to host circus events, dances, and other entertainments. It is such a hot location. Those who live in the area do not need to travel over an hour to dt manhattan just for sushi. Ceetays newly renovated restaurant offers fast fresh and delicious sushi! Kani salad was so refreshing and is definitely a must get! Along with the agedashi tofu. That was my favorite appetizer. Super crispy and the sauce was so good. Rock shrimp is no doubt a must! If you never had it before, you have to get it, the tiny little crispy things are soo fun and delicious. The kawasaki roll was also super delicious. The crab meat with crispy avocado was so good, I never had a roll like that anywhere else. The bronx boogie roll was also my favorite, especially if you like a little heat with your rolls. If you aren't a fan of raw fish or seaweed, the grilled salmon soy wrap is your go to roll. It is wrapped in a soy wrap instead of seaweed! How innovative is that?!! We absolutely loved Ceetay and cannot wait to go back. So glad to see the Bronx developing and bringing in new cuisines and culture.

Very noisy spot, there's construction all around, and they only have outdoor seating. Their sushi is not worth it. The portion is tiny compared to the price, and the taste is average. You also have to pay extra for eel sauce or spicy mayo. Honestly it is not worth it to come here, unless you want overpriced food and drinks that you'd basically have to take home.

This place has the best food! So glad they are local. Cashier (I didn’t get her name but she has wonderful tattoos) was extremely helpful and attentive! If you’re having trouble deciding my recommendation would be the chicken lomien! Delicious!

The staff was pleasant, fun and attentive; they all worked as a team from the cashier to the chef. My food came out fast. I like how they allowed me to be seated outside to enjoy beautiful weather. Has a cozy, natural feel and is clean. A great stop to make when in the Bronx.

Such a gem in the bronx, sushi- lovers you do not want to miss checking this spot! They recently celebrated 10 years & here's to 10 more! The Tuna Bruschetta is to die-for, I literally dream about it. My other favorites are their veggie spring rolls, shrimp tempura roll, and bronx boogie down roll. And don't forget to try their amazing sushi sandwich!

I ordered the buy 1 get 1 on Uber eats. So I got the pad Thai... I am Asian and love Thai food and the pad Thai was Mid at best. Overcooked the noodles and overly sweet. Does not taste authentic at all but maybe they're catering to the community in the Bronx since there's not many Asians. So if you like a commercial flavor this is for you.

I'm not a fan of their sushi. It tasted very commercial and not fresh and I got their cucumber rolls. The service was nice, the cashier at the front was very hospitable and friendly.

The spot doesn't look like much when you walk by it but the food is absolutely phenomenal earning it a five star with no hesitation. This restaurant is joined by a few other very delicious and epic spots but I've learned that this was the first restaurant on the strip when nothing else was around. They recently just celebrated their 10 year anniversary which is such an accomplishment and really says a lot about their food and how good it is. I tried a few different types of sushi and was so taken back by how fresh and delicious it all was. They have some thing called tuna bruschetta on their menu, get it right away lol. It was seriously heaven. Another thing that I would highly recommend is their veggie spring rolls, I have been dreaming of them since I've gotten them and cannot wait to go back for more.

So many wonderful, healthy vegan selections. I've had both soups (butternut and split pea) all the veg rolls, both salads, and the ceetay bowl. All wonderful, fresh, fast, well-priced and I'd order again. Great little spot for the neighborhood. Staff also pointed out how much husband could get more food for less money if he did the lunch special.

I have to say I didn't feel comfortable dining at this place. It's super small and it has a couple of tables right outside of its doors but than it also shared some tables outside on the curve with the other businesses on the block. The tables right outside of the reasurant were those annoying shaking chairs and tables that I don't like because they move while your trying to enjoy your meal. Also it's a really tight space so you can barely sit with anyone else you may be with. As for the outside curve tables, to much construction going on in the area its alot of noise and dust in the air, and don't think you will find any parking, it's a double parking mad house over there. I think Ceetay should think about relocating or expanding because I like to dine in when I'm having fresh made sushi. It's already expensive so I want to sit and relax and enjoy my meal I don't really like to order and go unless I'm close to home or bringing home left overs from already dining in. Now to the food. This restaurant had the best rock shrimp tempura I ever had in my life. They could of added a bit more sauce to it because you can tell it was coated with sauce but not top with sauce if ya get my point. I loved it either way though. My wine was extremely to sweet not like the Plum wine I had from another Sushi establishment, that one was so far my favorite. I was served wine in a plastic cup, not what I was expecting from a sushi spot. I also ordered some grill scallops and a Kawasaki Roll. The scallops were beautifully presented, and taste so fresh and amazingly good, but it was hard to really enjoy such fine dining sitting out at a table on the street. That's how I felt. I didn't want to try my specialty roll, so I took that to go and really didn't enjoy it to much when I got home. It was just ok for me. The Rock shrimp tempura like I said was my favorite. I think next time I need to order a whole popcorn bowl of that with extra butter lol! I really mean (sauce). Honestly I would love to come here an purchase more items from off the menu, because the menu had some really tasty sounding options, but its just not worth it when I have other options closer to me that have if not better quality sushi. If I'm in the area again (and I will be because they have other businesses that I will like to check out and some I may want to eat at because they actually have indoor dining.) I will definitely be taking home some of that Rock Shrimp Tempura, other than that I wouldnt travel all the way from the other side of the Bronx for this place. If your fine with the outdoor space that is provided I would say its a Thumbs-up, and you may not be disappointed in the food, even if your doing some take out, but as for me Im gonna have to pass.

The food is tasty, the presentation is on point, and they don't skimp on order delivery accoutrements (sauces, napkins, utensils, etc.), which is very important to me and speak volumes to their commitment to customer satisfaction.

DO NOT RECOMMEND. This place have been moved to outside seating due to the COVID pandemic, so all the orders are considered "to-go", since they aren't servicing you, and they aren't really going out there to clean the table after/in between each customer. The outside seating is shared with the BBQ place next door, which honestly seemed like it had better service than this place. They forgot about our order, and said it was hard because their wifi was down so the orders wasn't put through until after they fixed the wifi. So the food took probably an hour from the original expected time of 15 minutes with no line. (wtf) Food: 3/5 to start off, this place probably have one of the least authentic sushi places compare to other places. They serve almost the most basic rolls, and the rest are sort of an americanized verison of sushi menu. I guess in a white-washed community it might be considered good, but if you go to true sushi places, it'd probably be better. Moreover, the reason I say that is because of the menu choice orders on specialty rolls and of the menu is limited to a handful. Not to mention the main appetizer, entree, etc all don't have much to offer, and are of chinese, thai, and american versus actually Japanese. And can I mention, who charges for extra soysauce and eel sauce? In my experience, they usually attach it for free during dine in or take out. Cleaniness: 2/5 their outdoor seating is their only seating, not only do they not clean the tables and chair in between use, they also do not wipe down the counter all that often. I ended up waiting for the food for a while, and I could see various customers leaning on the counter, touching the menu, etc. No sight of cleaning done, nor was there an attempt. Seating: 0/5 the seating isn't cleaned, the outside portion of their restaurant smelled like the sewer. It isn't exactly the most romantic/fun date to be on if you are there for take out outdoor dine in situation. Recommend for take home if you must. Parking: street parking if you can, otherwise hopefully you walked/trained.

Best sushi I have ever had! I was never big into sushi but my wife took me here to experience their new "Sushi sandwich" and it was just what my life was missing. Bold flavors with the taste of freshness in every bite. The menu is huge with something to offer for everyone. We enjoyed a huge spread and I have nothing negative to say about any of it. In fact, I don't think I can say enough positive things about this place. It's a staple of authentic Japanese food in the bronx and I would love to come back here and try everything else on the menu I haven't tried yet.

Pretty great. I've order delivery and not only was the service really fast, it was also quiet the experience. I wish there were more given for the Kani salad but other than that small portion, 8/10. Amazing sushi Amazing service Great price I will definitely eat from this business again.

DO NOT ORDER A DELIVERY FROM THIS TRASHY RESTAURANT!!! I was having a lazy day and I decided to order food from this restaurant. I was waiting for my delivery and after One hour and half I called to the restaurant because I haven't received the food. A lady answer and I started to explain the problem. In others words this girl told me is not our problem!! Because you order through yelp! News lady! If is not your problem please don't accept orders through any app!!! The restaurant is always responsible for all the orders and food!!! No matter what!! Is the restaurant name and reputation that is on the line !!! Do yourself a favor and order from another restaurant! This one doesn't care if you received your food or not !!! Customer services is nasty !! This restaurant was good ! But now is just awful!!!

Girl....I get overwhelmed at times when indulging in real, delicious food, and Ceetay had me all types of overwhelmed, so bare with me, ok? So first I'll say that a food vlogger friend of mine was invited to Ceetay and she brought me along as her plus one. It's located in the Bronx in a really cool area that I love, with tons of other amazing restaurants. The first thing I noticed about Ceetay is that it's a smaller restaurant. There's one table inside for patrons, and a few outdoor tables. They have heating lamps for when it's cold, so no worries there. My friend and I managed to grab the indoor tables which I loved because it was comfy and made for a better overall experience. Ok, so we were looking at the menu, deciding on what we were gonna order. We started with drinks. We both wanted sake, and there were quite a few bottled sake options that they offered. We looked for the ones with the strongest alcohol content, obviously. If I recall properly, the highest was around 13%? Don't quote me on that though. We started drinking, and the buzz started kickin in (always makes for a better experience, right?!). We then decided on some sushi options. One being the Bronx Boogie Down Roll, made with spicy salmon, cilantro, spicy Mayo and jalapeños! I love a spicy salmon roll and the spicy Mayo was very well done! That jalapeño added that pop at the end, which I was here for! Super fresh, which I greatly appreciate! We also tried the rock shrimp tempura, which is like eating popcorn, or potato chips. There's so much of it and you know you shouldn't eat it all, but the next thing you know, you look down into the bag...and it's all gone. Yeah, same with the rock shrimp. The sauce was sweet with a little kick, the shrimp itself was crispy and addictive. You just pop'em in! They were so easy to eat in more ways than one! We also tried the Kawasaki, made with oven baked crab, sweet sauce, crunch and avocado. Let me first say, that the crab was immaculate. As a Maryland native crab snob, I approved of this crab. It was fresh and you actually got the natural flavor of crab (you'd be surprised by how many New York restaurants fail in the crab department. No shade though. All love :-)). So thank you for that, Ceetay! Lastly, we tried their beautiful grilled scallops! These scallops were super fresh, tender, perfectly cooked, and melt-in-ya-MOUF (read that again). There was just something so pleasant about eating these scallops. Whomever was cooking, understood the assignment with these. Scallops can be so easily ruined if you didn't do your homework. These cooks certainly did and ACED it! I'm so glad I was invited to go to Ceetay because I enjoyed the sushi, the decor, and the staff, who were all pleasant and friendly. I told my friend how it's not the easiest to find good sushi, so when I come across it, I cherish it! Thanks for having us, Ceetay!

The sushi is pretty good and very affordable! I usually order delivery from one of my many apps and they always have deals like buy one get one free on sushi and other items.

Been to Ceetay a few times and can honestly recommend this place to anyone. I'm picky when it comes to my sushi, as anyone should be with fish, but Ceetay delivers! First off, the Tuna Bruschetta is a must. Spicy tuna with avocado over crispy rice, I mean how can you not. The rock shrimp is yum too. Those were the two starters that I tried aside from some spring rolls that I ordered just because I had a craving. Now for the specialty rolls I got the Kawasaki, Spicy Maguro, and Bronx Boogie Roll. All three were awesome, especially the Kawasaki. I feel like normal when I order rolls with crab they're a little stingy but if you can tell from my pictures, Ceetay hooks it up. I also enjoyed the Honey Wasabi in the Spicy Maguro and I loveeee when there's a sauce on top which is what the Bronx Boogie offered. Lastly, I never really order soba noodles but I had to try and they were really yummy! Devoured that pretty fast along with some sake to drink. As for Covid restrictions, Ceetay has a nice outdoor space with heaters and it's all spaced out nicely. Felt safe when I went!

***OUTDOOR DINING ONLY AS OF THIS REVIEW Usually when one thinks of sushi, Manhattan comes to mind but was told about a place in the Bronx. My interest was piqued and I made my way to the location on one very cold evening with an empty stomach and open mind. For anyone that is not local, it is approximately a ten minute walk from the nearest train station or there is street parking if you plan on driving. Since there has been a ban on indoor dining, I do not know how the seating arrangement was inside. But they made a nice cozy outdoor sitting area with a couple of heated tables. There are really only three tables in that outdoor area. Lucky for me most people were not eating at the establishment. As I walked in, the counter had some bags and there was a decent sized kitchen where employees were prepping and making the food. Their take out and delivery seemed like it was very lively during my visit which shows me they must be popular locally. Since it was my first time there, I was not sure what to get. I was greeted by a very pretty cashier/employee named Alexis. She had very a distinct hair style and was super helpful. Since it was my first time there, I was a bit overwhelmed with the menu options. They offer a lot of delicious options since they are an Asian fusion restaurant. ** All employees wore masks and those handling food were wearing gloves per current health and safety guidelines in NYC For the appetizer I chose some pan seared chicken gyoza (they offer vegetable as well as shrimp options that can also be deep fried) and Alexis recommended the Rock Shrimp Tempura (gojuchang sauce and spicy mayo) as well as the Tuna Bruschetta (spicy tuna and guacamole on crispy rice). Since it was very cold outside, she also recommended the Butternut Squash soup. Sold recommendation and perfect hand warmer as well. For the specialty rolls she recommended the Kawasaki (oven baked crab, sweet sauce, crunch and avocado) and what seems to be their signature Bronx Boogie Down Roll (spicy salmon, cilantro, jalapeno, spicy mayo). For the regular roll I chose the Original Spicy Tuna. Since they are a fusion restaurant, I wanted to try something off the entree menu. Alexis mentioned the Lo Mein was good and recommended I get a protein like steak. She also recommended the Spicy Lady but I decided to mark that dish for a return visit. The desserts were pretty impressive as well! Since I could not decide I went with her recommendations. Limoncello Truffle I had eaten there with the food and I took home the Chocolate Ganache Cheesecake and Coppa 3 Chocolates since it was overall a lot of food for one person. For those who partake, they have a nice drink menu consisting of soda, some local and imported beers, various kinds of sake and a good selection of red and white wines which is perfect if you are dining with a guest. It was a lot of food and did end up taking some to go as I ran out of time (10pm curfew) order and it all tasted very fresh (I finished all the rolls sitting). The butternut squash soup was a surprise hit for me. The appetizers were quite tasty as you really cannot go wrong with gyoza and the tuna bruschetta was also fresh. The Lo Mein was a lot and it is something I would definitely order again. The portion size is good for a main entree and allowed for some tasty leftovers for later on if you cannot eat it all, There were other desserts on the menu that I would certainly want to try but the ones that were recommended to me were all so good! As with the restrictions in NYC and the outdoor dining, all the food was conveniently brought out in to go containers and packaging which makes it easy to pack up if you are not able to eat it all at the restaurant. Everything was brought out to me in a timely manner and I did appreciate the good customer service during my visit.

Thoroughly enjoyed my lunch meal at Ceetay. I met up with a friend on a Tuesday afternoon and it was completely empty when I arrived l, although some people showed up towards the end of my lunch. Food: We started with the veggie spring rolls and the chicken gyoza. The veggie rolls were crispy and delicious, and although the dipping sauce was good, it didn't even need it. The gyoza was just ok, not bad but I've had better. I had the deep fried shrimp roll for my main and it was really good. Very similar to a regular shrimp tempura roll. My friend had a crispy salmon skin roll and the bite I tried was good and had a nice crunch inside (literally crispy salmon skin inside of the roll). Drinks: My friend had a beer and I had a Chardonnay. Both were tasty. Their drink menu is simple but has something for everyone.

It's a spot in the Bronx and the sushi is really good! Fresh and delish. I always order delivery and the packaging is really good! I always get the dragon rolls. The lo mein and pad Thai is okay! Not authentic but not bad! The sauce is a little watery but yummy

Latest update - still very inconsistent in many ways. The Kani salad is one of my favorites but the portion size always varies. Sometimes the container is full, sometimes it's half full, today it was about 25% full. Also whoever packed the bag did a horrible job because the Kani salad was packed sideways within the bag so the liquid leaked all over the bag and other containers. Also why does my $15 items come in flimsy throwaway containers but my $7 items come in plastic reusable containers? ******** Surprisingly good sushi! The only thing lacking is they are not consistent. Ive ordered from here about a dozen times in the past couple of weeks. The first 2 times were great but on the 3rd time, the fish did not taste fresh. The other times I've ordered, the food has been ok but again, the consistency was lacking. The fried tofu is cut up very small and overly breaded sometimes to where it tastes like tater tots, the bruschetta is good but the rice is over fried, the Kani salad is my favorite appetizer but sometimes the container is full and other times the container isn't even 25% full. I wish I could give this 4 or 5 stars but the consistency kills me.

The food is delicious and flavorful. My favorite is the chicken fried rice and veggie egg rolls. The young lady that takes orders is always so nice and welcoming which I love because it's hard to come by in this city.

I am so happy and excited to write this review! We are currently in quarantine and after a long day at work my sister as an essential worker was exhausted and craved sushi from her favorite sushi place Ceetay! We placed the order for delivery with one of the very well known delivery app services, and after two hours we had not received our food! When I contacted the restaurant confused as to why my "delivery time kept changing on the app" Anastasia was so kind and professional she apologized and explained the process to me, unfortunately the driver from that "delivery app" was just not near at all and it would take a lot longer To pick up the food then head my way. She offered to pay for an Uber and make sure i am reimbursed for the services I was charged on that "delivery app" service. My food got here in only 10 minutes and finally my sister got to eat, rest and relax. Wow, Anastasia really did exceptional work, I am so glad i have this place near my neighborhood, wonderful service and absolutely delicious food! I will continue to order take out and my sister and I can't wait to go back and dine in again like we always have! The kawasaki rolls and the grilled salmon soy wrap are always bomb! They were still warm and yummy when we received them! Even after that two hour wait!

Ceetay is part of a handful of newer businesses entering the Mott Haven section of the Bronx. This area of the borough is undergoing a rebirth, and over the last couple of years I've made an effort to explore this area more and more. It was only a matter of time before I tried out Ceetay, and last night my brothers and I had the opportunity to grab some dinner here. Ceetay isn't a large restaurant; walking in, there are about 5 or 6 tables against a wall to the left and the sushi bar to the right. Additionally, they have a couple of tables outdoors. I saw that they do a good amount of takeout orders which I can imagine is popular since there aren't many other sushi places in the area. The decor was decent - it wasn't too extravagant but just enough to create a welcoming atmosphere. The menu is typical of a sushi restaurant: Asian-esque apps, sashimi, speciality rolls, and the traditional stuff. They also have a section of entrees, noodles, and rice. We started with the rock shrimp tempura. This was really tasty - the shrimp was crispy and the sauce had lots of flavor. It almost had a buffalo quality to it but perhaps that was just my tastebuds playing a trick on me. For my main I wanted sushi, so I chose one of their speciality rolls (Kawasaki) and a regular spicy tuna roll. These were pretty good, it wasn't the best sushi I've had but definitely not the worst. I appreciate the creativity that they put into their specialty rolls, some of the combos I have not seen at other sushi spots. Service was great, everyone was super friendly and on top of their game. Overall, I would give the sushi at Ceetay a 3 and the service a 5, so for me they get a solid 4. That being said, I would definitely return to explore more of their specialty rolls and other parts of their menu. When it comes down to it, I support the proliferation of this area of the Bronx so I'm glad Ceetay is here to add some culinary diversity.

Zero Star This Business/Restaurant made me feel Discriminated for not masking my face. Im from this community n can say they are Pricey. Really small place. Do not deserve to get my hard working money. Anyways, First time ever going for pick up. They have a sign on each table "They don't do outside service"... I went inside politely asked for a menu to order. (Nothing different from grubhub) I go back inside to order... Lady at the front automatically** asks me if I have a mask.... I answered no..and before I can even respond again ( to obviously inform her why I don't have a mask, which BY a real LAW I don't really have to share my health information). She tells me, ( didn't ask ) "Go outside so she can take my order" . THEN All the workers started looking at me, Which made me feel a bit AWKWARD but I just walked out. We didn't get any greetings from her, she pulled out her notepad and asked me what will I like to order? I said, I would like to order what the 1RollLunch has, mixed vegetable rolls and lentil/butternut squash soup. She in return say she don't have 1 roll lunch special, is over. I said yes I understand , I am aware is lunch time rates is different. Just the order mixed vegetable rolls with lentil soup ? (My first time physically here) She apologize for her not knowing I knew the special rates are over and ask me AGAIN what would I like to order? She got me confused and In the mist of me asking her, Can I not order mixed vegetable rolls and lentil soup ? I always order online, trying to show her what I always order from grubhub.... she removed the menu OUT OF MY HANDS and placed back down on the table to show me what I wanted in a ugly condescending attitude ... I told her, I don't care about the menu now because I know what I want... This lady went back and forth with me about lunch special being over. Then she said With her snotty tone " I can order ONLINE " I'm so embarrassed and IM WITH MY KIDS. And In Front of nosey customers that were sitting 3feet apart OUTSIDE WITH MASK ( not that it matters to me) drinking their first beer politely served by her! Now who would make a person with that nasty attitude take their order? Not me. .. I asked her to take her menu back. She condescendingly took it back. Told me sarcastically to have a nice day. Walked back in. I called the number to speak to a manager and she said she is a manager. Wow. I asked for a owner, and became argumentative. Very Poor service from a manager. I really got treated indifferent. If I would of had a mask on, she would of been polite and helpful to me too. Stay away if you a person that don't wear mask. There's many of us out here that have medical reasons for not wearing one and I'm one of them. {Obviously the "manager" fail to see the problem. Therefore, this treatment shall continue. The calamari was great and a nice shareable portion, but the sushi rolls for the Dragon roll and Tuna roll were really small for the price.

Ceetay is a wonderful sushi place on Alexander Ave. in the South Bronx. My friend and I ordered 1) Bronx Boogie Down Roll - spicy salmon, cilantro, jalapeño, spicy mayo 2) Rock Shrimp Tempura 3) Kawasaki - oven baked crab, sweet sauce, crunch, avocado 4) Thai Salad and some sake to drink. The Kawasaki had a good amount of crab. My friend is from Baltimore and he approved! This is a great neighborhood place. Check it out!

I absolutely hate ripping on restaurants but Ceetay takes the throne for the worst food I have digested, or tried to digest. I understand that its an Asian-Infused restaurant so the authenticity is not going to be there. The service was lacking as well too. We were greeted and seated with no smiles or a hello. A poker face server/host took down our order with no facial expression whatsoever. ***ALL ORDERS WERE LUNCH SPECIALS!*** Fried Rice (Vegetable Spring Roll Appetizer): Unless you're a cilantro lover, please for the love of God, ASK FOR NO CILANTRO! They add a layer of cilantro over your rice and incorporate more cilantro into your rice which makes it difficult to remove some. The rice was VERY VERY VERY BLAND. Absolutely no flavor besides soy sauce. Do not order the rice! What makes me sooo mad was that my fried rice was BURNT! Every bite I took, theres a piece of burnt pieces in my mouth. Its like they don't change the wok or clean it. The vegetable spring roll was good but it tasted frozen. Pad Thai (Miso Soup): The Pad Thai is no where near an authentic Pad Thai so please do not get your hopes up. The pad thai was loaded with sauce which makes it inedible. Tasted like a very American dish, loaded with some sweet sauce. Save your money elsewhere! This is a trap!!

The food was good. It is my second time eating here but they left out my Kawasaki roll. Highly disappointed. I went in and picked some food up and instead of getting the Kawasaki they sent me 2 spicy tuna with cucumber . I tried calling the restaurant and no one has been answering . How do we resolve this issue? Thank you *Update: They reached out to me and offered a credit for next time I order from here. My boyfriend paid in cash so they couldn't credit any card for the roll that was missing. The credit was only for $15, the toll cost about $13. Not great cause it would require us to go back there again to eat to be able to use it and the amount is minimal but glad to get a response*

Small place right off Bruckner Blvd..the seating needs to be updated..extremely tight squeeze between each table. Theres no space to move. .My man who is 6'6 in height would have never been able to squeeze thru, if there were alot of people. Good thing it was empty so he wasn't climbing over anybody. The waitress who served us was very nice and friendly and helpful..The food was surprisingly very good....its Asian, Thai cuisine but the cooks were Hispanic, lol. So maybe they added a Latin touch because the food was delicious. Couldn't have any cocktails because they were out of some liquor. So water and lemon it is.. Overall, it was a good experience, i would eat there again but they definitely need to upgrade the place just to be able to sit comfortably...

Great food, awesome location! My boyfriend and I have been dying for a quick take out spot close to home. And living in the Bronx makes this practically impossible, especially if your not into the local pizza and Chinese spots(yuck!) So when I stumbled upon this place i was in heaven. I'm a sucker for great service and i received it to the fullest. Definitely coming back. ***Decor was super hip and the music was so relaxing. Definitely an A+++

I do have to give this little gem a review. For quite some time I been wanting to go have lunch here. I finally went for lunch and had the teriyaki salmon and my friend had the noddles. Everything was very good including the miso soup ( amazing miso soup) we were hosted by a you g lady name Mia, very sweet and attentive. Drinks weren't all that but dessert was also pretty good.

Went here on a tip from a fellow Yelper. Upon entering the first thing I noticed was the very unique decor. Old seltzer bottles on some shelves, mason jar lamps hanging from the ceiling, wood and metal milk crates above to counter area and Asian newspapers as wallpaper. Very well done. The place is small but comfortable. On to the food. Excellent, excellent, excellent!! Fresh flavor combinations that I haven't seen anywhere else. The Bay Breezes made with sake are to die for! Don't miss this place, it's really good.

A place that was so good when it first started has now gone bad. I ordered takeout through Grubhub and although the delivery was fast the food was bad. The sushi didn't taste fresh, the gyoza and spring rolls were super oily and had shredded chicken that was dry and had vegetables although the menu never said it was supposed to have veggies. Unimpressed and not happy with a $53 sushi order of stuff I didn't like at all.

Returned here this week while in the area. The space setup is still the same, small, dimly lit, but very clean (down to the restroom). Staff attentive. I had my order placed to go and the gentleman ringing me up made sure to make me aware of the small card transaction fee (.70) even though it was posted. And while waiting I was offered something to drink. My food. I got the Kawasaki roll (oven baked crab and topped with avocado, a sweet sauce, and crunching topping) and a sweet potato tempura roll. Both delicious. Fresh tasting. Not too much rice. I wish I had taken a picture but devoured as soon as I walked in. But I will continue to frequent this spot when in the area.

Stopped by after going book shopping and the service and the food were awesome! Shay was amazing and made the whole dining experience amazing! Thank you!

Went on a friends recommendation, I must say, this was a hit! We started out with the Ceetay Bay Breeze! They were really good! We then ordered some appetizers. The Rock shrimp tempura, tuna brushetta, chicken spring rolls. Then we tried the specialty roll, the Bronx is burning! Everything, from the service to the taste was really good! Very good quality food! We will be back here!

This is an okay spot. The place itself is small, cute and intimate. I'm a big fan of their take out bags, which are nice and sturdy, but that's all I can rave about. They have good lunch specials, but the food is nothing special. All their fried rice/noodle dishes taste the same, just sort of soy-saucey and generally Asian. They try to make a wide variety of Asian dishes and land somewhere in the middle, where none of them taste very different. Also, they put cilantro on EVERYTHING, which is a shame cause I really can't stand it. If you're like me and are a genetic mutant who hates cilantro make sure to say so. The sushi is fine and the vegetarian spring rolls are pretty good, but otherwise there's really nothing to write home about. I go there out of convenience rather than a craving for their food.

I wanted to give 3.5 stars. I was very hungry and in the neighborhood and was recommended this place because as you all know by now I LOVE THAI FOOD! My friend told me this was a Thai place. They also advertise themselves as an Asian fusion/ Thai restaurant. But that was my first mistake. Any true Thai food connoisseur would know that if a restaurant advertises themselves as an Asian fusion place, the food won't taste authentic. And this place proved that to be true. I ordered the veggie gyoza and the chicken pad Thai. Let me say that the food tasted really good, but it absolutely did NOT taste like Thai cuisine. Along with sushi they also have some staple Indian dishes on the menu which was a bit confusing. Aside from the food, the restaurant itself is very small; like a max of 10 different people could be seated comfortably at the same time. It's the size of a very large dining room. The server was very friendly and accommodating. I'd order this to go for dinner. While there, there were tons of orders lined up for delivery, so I take it everyone else feels the same way.

Food is really good. I ordered the Kawasaki roll and rock shrimp. Sushi roll taste really fresh , nice full big roll.

I use to love this place but things have changed. When ordering take out they seem to always forget something. This was the last time I will be ordering from here. When receiving my order I get no chopsticks, no soy sauce, avocado looks like it was left out for a long time cause it was brown and mushy.

Best shrimp fried rice! Spring rolls are amazing! I love the service and my order is always correct.

Always consistent, great service and the tuna bruschetta is delicious! I would highly recommend this place to locals and anyone visiting the BX. Truly a hidden gem!

Appropriation at its best. It's the the south Bronx which I love. Because the south bronx a place with heart, good food, music, people of color and great prices for food. Not this place. White staff. High prices. Small portions. Gentrification.

This is my son's favorite restaurant so I take him as much as possible can. His favorite is the Miso soup, Kani Salad, and the Dragon roll. The bruschetta finally has the portion size it had when you originality open but the consistency lacks. Every time I order Yellowtail Jalapeño it's never the same as the last time I ordered.

Ceetay sushi is ok overall. I would like for the food to be more fresh. I do enjoy the quality of sushi. I love there desserts.

I used to come here all the time. Unfortunately the food is extremely overpriced, it's not that tasty and portions are basic. I ordered a Kani salad that tasted like it was in the fridge for a good amount of days. The low mein stir fry had no taste it was $17 and to add chicken was $4.25 more!!! I thought I was going to get good portions but it was a regular plastic lunch container. The sushi is good.

This replaces my previous 5-star rating of 2015 that read "Can't express how thrilled I am to have such a trendy yet homey and secluded little gem in my borough. It's like having a hidden secret. Let Manhattan have everything else. Let me have Ceetay!" First let me emphasize that my family and I have been coming to Ceetay since it first opened. It instantly became our single-most favorite restaurant. It was so exciting to find this little gem in a part of Mott Haven so long neglected. Ceetay is no longer our favorite. It isn't even in the running for third place. It's been a moment since we'd been. First impression. There was once a time when the place didn't open until 5 pm so that it was empty when we got there was no surprise. That being said, my table was dirty. Unacceptable for the beginning of dinner service. I remember a time when the menu was covered in 2 pieces of plywood branded with the restaurant's name. The whole thing held together by binder rings. Unique. Kinda cool. Not these menus. They were dingy and ragged. Ceetay's signature cocktails were no longer on the menu. No Blushing Geishas tonight. We got sake coladas which at first were tasty but became weaker the more we drank. And it wasn't melted ice because we drank them fairly quickly. It was more like all the booze had been put in the straw without any in the rest of the drink. It started out cocktail. It ended in juice & weak juice at that. The tuna bruschetta was first. Instead of the slight crispiness we normally enjoy, it was overdone. Toasty to the point where it crumbled apart before fully making its way into our mouths. The tuna itself was sinfully bland. And sinfully bland is an apt way to describe the rest of the meal. The rock shrimp tempura was more tempura than shrimp. The taste was all heat but no actual flavor. My nephew described it best. "It started out promising but never flourished." Any bit of seasoning was in the tempura. None made it to the actual shrimp which were uncharacteristically small and not very fresh-tasting as well. The Kawasaki roll was smaller than ever & none of the rolls were properly rolled. More like deconstructed sushi than anything else. The original spicy tuna roll wasn't spicy at all & the tuna as well as the salmon in the salmon avocado roll tasted cold from refrigerating previously frozen seafood not from keeping fresh seafood on ice which is the kind of cold one would expect from properly prepared sushi. In the past we always held on to one of the menus after ordering because we couldn't get enough. Not tonight. We'd had more than enough & not from overeating. We just didn't want to endure it any longer. We didn't have dessert like we normally would. A nice cheesecake with a cappuccino to round out a fine meal. We didn't run up a huge bill like we normally would even going so far as to save up the money needed for an inevitably expensive dinner in advance of the day we ate it. We're always down for splurging on a costly but fantastic meal. It's overpaying for just plain bad food that hurts. Tonight it hurt. We received the check with a note indicating that they'd give us a 4% discount if we paid cash. Sounds reasonable right? That's not what this is. It's a bunch of pretty words to cover the fact that they'll actually charge you 4% MORE for NOT paying cash. Credit card swipe fees are costly for a business. I get it. But don't add 10% to a $100 bill then offer to "generously" give a $10 discount. It's a surcharge. Call it a surcharge. Don't sugarcoat it. It stinks of sneakiness even if it's just good business. I remember when the owner was always there. He'd chat with us & we'd ask things like "What's the significance of the name 'Ceetay'?" The answer is actually amusing. Haven't seen him in a long time. That's understandable if your business is booming. It is not understandable if your business is flailing in your absence. We were kind of bummed tonight. It's the end of an era. It's by no means the end of the world. Nobody died for crying out loud. It's just sad when a favorite haunt goes bye-bye & not because they shut down. That kind of goodbye would be preferable actually.
