"One unsettling characteristic of Fake Spring is that while it’s warm, Chicago trees are still very much leafless and look a little like illustrations from Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark. But the top floor of Celeste, a bar in River North, is full of plants, including ivy. In fact, it looks an awful lot like the kind of English garden you’d play hide and seek in with your housekeeper who died before you were born. It’s a great spot to have some cocktails and eat things like a caramelized onion fondue, or steak frites, before going out in the neighborhood." - adrian kane, john ringor, nick allen
"Thanks to Celeste, it’s possible to hang out at a secret garden in River North. The rooftop bar is surrounded by ivy-covered brick walls, and full of plants and marble tables. Come here for cocktails with friends before dinner downtown, or just to hang out." - adrian kane, veda kilaru
"Swanky restaurant and cocktail bar Celeste is back open with two discrete spaces for open-air dining, according to a news release: “the Pub” on the first floor, which features a six-table sidewalk patio, and “the Roof Garden,” which is open to the public during the week and available for those with tickets to its summer music series on weekends." - Naomi Waxman
"Celeste is in River North, and it’s basically a Swiss Army knife as far as bars go. It has four levels, each with its own theme. The first floor is like a normal bar, the second floor is a little swanky, with chandeliers and a couple of curtained booths for groups, and the rooftop level is designed to feel like a garden, with plants and marble tables all around. All of those are laid-back and great for striking up a conversation. But when you really want to go all out, hit the third-story “disco floor,” which is pretty self-explanatory." - adrian kane
