The 25 Best Restaurants in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico | Eater

"A cenaduría offers one of the best eating experiences in Jalisco: the kind of classic antojitos around dinnertime that satisfy both hunger and that universal yearning for home-cooked comfort. The typical menu at these establishments centers on corn-centric dishes such as pozole, tacos dorados, enchiladas, and tostadas. Cenaduría Chepina is located in the former home of Josefina Cárdenas in the Versalles neighborhood, who served classics such as tostadas raspadas with shredded pork, pork neck pozole, and enchiladas de requesón for 31 years. Her daughters run the cenaduría now; they recently gave it a bright, new look, but they kept their mom’s original recipes." - Paola Briseño-González

Ordered the shredded pork pozole. It was ok to be honest but it wasn't spectacular. After about ten spoonfuls I found a tiny fingernail sized spinal column vertebrae bone. Made me question what exactly I was eating and I pushed it away. Will never go back. I'm sorry because people said it was great food.

So delicious! We had the pozole & tacos dorados - both great. We do not speak very good Spanish, but the staff were so patient and welcoming! We will be back.

So good!! They were busy but we got a table outside within 5 minutes. We had gorditas, enchiladas and the Mexican sampler plate. They brought tostadas and salsa to the table right away and the entrees arrived quickly after we ordered. Everything was delicious! Service was very friendly and fast. We brought dessert home because we were too full to have we them there.

Words cannot describe how delicious their food is. Their chicken pozole, enchiladas, and tostadas are unbelievably amazing. The price is so affordably cheap and they serve huge portions. This restaurant gets so busy with many locals. This is the spot for authentic food for sure. My partner and I would love to come back for dinner here soon, again!

Nice spot to enjoy some of Jalisco's "antojitos", the enchiladas and sopes were very tasty. They ran out of pozole but the server was quick to offer a similar option that was a good kind of soup. Also their salsas are super tasty!

My daughter was overcharged. Everyone had left she was the last person and three of the staff basically approached her demanding more money. She was charged $75 for three drinks plus a surcharge plus a gratuity. She gave $100 bill and was given back only a few dollars in pesos and was intimidated the entire time. Never go by yourself never go alone make sure you see the menu and the price

Reccomended by a local, so we gave it a try. We felt the food was ok. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't OMG amazing either. Service was good. A plus, the menu is in Spanish (one side), and the other side is in English. Tostadas, 2 kinds of very hot salsas, and a bowl of limes were on the table. The salsas were sooo hot, we couldn't eat them. We would have loved a milder one so that we could enjoy some good authentic salsa with our meal. Great seating options!!! Several tables inside with fans and several outside under a covered area giving much needed shade.
