Went do dinner with a +1. We ordered the following: camarones en aguachile, camarones a la diabla, taco de camaron estilo ensenada, orden de capirotada, a sidral, and a diet coke. Total: 30 dollars.
Gumacus is hidden in this street block. You have to be actively searching for it or else you will miss it as it is squeezed in between store-fronts that look like homes.
The complimentary chips are great. The salsa they provide has a definite punch to it.
Camarones en aguachile: prepared correctly, plentiful, and good presentation. Not over-seasoned like other restaurants tend to incorrectly do.
Camarones a la diabla: comes with a side salad, spanish rice, and three hand-made tortillas. Executed well. The sauce on the camarones is a little thick, mild, and with some sweet aftertaste. This is camarones a la diabla in top form.
Taco de camaron estilo ensenada: I worried that they would over-batter and fry the shrimp to death or only give me one shrimp and a ton of lettuce. I was surprised by their lightly battered, three huge shrimp in the large hand-made tortilla. Dressing was lightly done over shredded cabbage and diced tomatoes.
Capirotada: warm, with a good amount of nuts and raisins. Sizable portion that could be shared by two people easily.
Extremely great service. A gem in between nondescript buildings. Definitely coming back.
