"Sliver Pizzeria (2132 Center Street) has closed after five years in Downtown Berkeley. The last day for pizza, always served with an extra baby slice included, was December 29. As a vegetarian and vegan slice shop with one type of pizza per day and a sourdough crust, Sliver was a chip off the old Cheese Board block, modeled on the Berkeley mainstay and founded by three Cheese Board Pizza alums: Guillermo Willy Perez, Artemio Maldonado, and Dwight Ferron. Sliver opened in 2013 with a socially-conscious, anti-Human Trafficking mission: Providing financial and/or moral support to freedom organizations such as MISSSEY, BAYWAR, Not For Sale, and others." - Caleb Pershan
