Wonderful Park with Great Amenities! This park is truly a gem in the area! There’s plenty of parking, making it super convenient to visit anytime. The location is easy to access, and the park is well-maintained with a variety of amenities for all ages. It’s especially great for kids — lots of open space and fun play areas. I’ve attended a few festive events here, and they’ve always been well-organized and full of positive energy. The addition of the Magical Bridge Playground has made the experience even better — it's inclusive, creative, and brings smiles to everyone who visits. Overall, a fantastic place to relax, play, and enjoy time with family and friends!

Google
Decent sized park with lots of open spaces, two playgrounds, basketball court, war memorial, fountain, pond and more. Easy paved walk. Lots of grassy areas to hang out and relax and watching ducks and geese swimming in the pond. There’s a war memorial in a shaded area. Lovely spot to reflect on the lives sacrificed. We went on a Saturday and there was a pokeman event the day we went so the park was busy but not overly crowded.

Google
We love going to the Central Park Pavilion for community events and for personal activities. Really beautiful, very well- maintained and is both cozy and can hold good size community events. Easy parking, so much shade, love the pond and all the birds.

Zantout

Google
Very clean park, very well maintained. Roads are big, the fountain is really nice, really clean and really well maintained. A lot of green space. The park is really big, a lot of shade to sit under. A lot of geese and ducks too.

Pepper

Google
Lovely environment with a lot of geese and ducks. And this arises another issue: the pond’s surrounding is full of their droppings, and part of grassland has droppings densely. It’s a paradise for geese and ducks, and it’s a place for people viewing rather than strolling. The view is really amazing.

Google
Lovely park to take kids to on a weekend. There are swing sets, slides and a magical bridge for small kids. But there's also several tennis courts, playgrounds for other sports and swimming pool too for training.

Yael Shenhav

Google
A sweet park great for early strolls . Well located and with great advantage of being safe even in the morning. Lots of geese and ducks so the smells of the feces are a minus

Shruti Daga

Google
Very well maintained clean park.. with ample space for a walk/ run. Lots of benches around to just sit and soak in the nature around.. A lot of different species of wild ducks can be seen here too.

Yelp
It's big enough to wander without feeling cramped, and there's a nice mix of paved and dirt paths--so it works even if someone needs stroller- or wheelchair-friendly options. There's plenty of lawn space, good shade from mature trees, and enough people around that it feels lively but not uncomfortably crowded. I don't love packed places, and this park is still comfortably busy even when there's a Pokémon GO event. (And yes, there are plenty of stops and gyms to hit!) Amenities are solid: bathrooms are there (not the cleanest, but it's a public park--I'm not expecting luxury), big playground area, picnic spots, tennis courts, and even a swimming pool. I haven't used the sports stuff myself, but it's nice they're there. There's also a public library right next door if you're making a day of it. Parking is free and there's usually plenty of it, which is a huge plus in this area. And if you want food, there are several options nearby you can get to without having to go far. Overall, it's just a really good, big city park that's easy to recommend if you want space to walk, relax, play, or just hang out with friends.

Yelp
Super cool to see all the cute ducks and baby geese wandering around--such a fun little surprise during our visit! The Magical Bridge Playground is just around the corner from the waterfront, which makes it easy to go back and forth between nature and playtime. There's plenty of seating and grassy areas, so it's a great spot to bring a blanket and have a picnic. Restrooms are conveniently close by, which is always a plus when you're with kids. Pro tip: try parking in the first turn-in from the Homestead side--it's usually easier to find a spot and puts you closer to everything. Central Park really has something for everyone--whether you're there to play, relax, or just enjoy the wildlife.

Yelp
Beautiful park in Santa Clara that is huge! There is a beautiful pond with a fountain that is full of ducks and geese. There are multiple playgrounds- with the Magical Bridges one being exceptional. There are also many grassy areas, basketball courts, pavilion picnic area, and creeks. Somethings to note is that there is quite a bit of goose poop near the walking paths near the water. Furthermore, Magical Bridges get extremely chaotic and busy. Overall, a beautiful park!

Yelp
This is one if my favorite local parks. I like that there are plenty of trees for shade. I enjoy walking around the park on the paved path. Plenty of parking all around the park. There are two play areas for kids. Adult exercise equipment near. A play area for smaller children is not much further. Plenty of picnic areas, open space to lounge. A duck pond which I enjoy relaxing by and watching the ducks swim around. The bathroom is kept pretty clean everytime I've visited the park. There's so much more to this park. You have to visit and see yourself. A great park for the everyone to enjoy.

Yelp
Like a peaceful oasis in Santa Clara? Its the Central Park! This charming park is a dog owner's dream - spacious paths for leisurely walks and adorable ducklings by the pond. But it's not just for pets - it's also a fantastic spot for picnics! Whether solo or with friends, Central Park offers a serene escape with beautiful flowers and lush grass. Don't miss out - visit Central Park for a delightful day out!

Yelp
My boyfriend found this spot and it was a such a nice find! It is a big space with a recreational pool, pond and field. At the pool there was a synchronized swimming competition so we got to watch them perform! Walking around the area was nice too! There were ducks, geese and little critters around. There is ample parking and a public library too!

Yelp
Went here for the first time for the Summer PokeGo Fest. I've been wanting to visit this park for awhile, but haven't gotten the chance until recently. There's two sides to this park: the community center side, and the pond side. The side with the community center is nice and green, but there is also a lot of construction there. The side with the pond is also very green, consisting of both small hills and flat areas. I like this side of the park more because it is more scenic. A great photo op would be in front of the pond. There is also an area to grill, which is great for small bbqs. The grills are all in one area though, so there isn't much privacy. There are plenty of ducks in this area, but surprisingly not a lot of poop!

Yelp
I feel like this park's got it all, something for everybody. The entire area consists of a few different parking lots (the main one at Kiely and Homestead), multiple restrooms, a community rec center, library, swim center, lawn bowling green, tennis courts, soccer field, two playgrounds (for kids of different ages), a couple small bridges that cross over a dry creek, veterans memorial, cool looking pavilion, trails for running, exercise stations, picnic areas and seating, bbq grills, grassy fields, lots of trees offering shade... and of course the park's centerpiece, the beautiful multilevel pond with gorgeous landscaping and fountains, and even a tiny waterfall feature, as well as plenty of waterbirds swimming, sleeping, or waddling around nearby (more ducks than geese). The place is clean, and all facilities are in pretty good condition, not run down, which makes the setting even more inviting. The exception is, of course, the inevitable bird poop bordering the pond, but hey can't expect everything to be perfect. There were lots of tents set up at the park when I visited yesterday because they are preparing for an upcoming event being held here, the 40th Anniversary Santa Clara Art & Wine Festival happening this weekend. But it didn't stop me from enjoying the scenery and getting a good run in. Can't believe it took me this long to discover this amazing park not too far from home... I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
The good: I came here for a picnic with boba I got from across the street. The park is VERY spacious with lots of green grassy areas. Some are flat and some are hilly. There's a big water fountain and a playground for kids. There are also paved sidewalk areas for you to take a stroll on. I enjoyed the pine trees that gave the park a very NorCal feel. My toddler enjoyed running around here and the paved sidewalks are good for small kids with bikes. It felt safe and easy to travel on. It is also good for strollers. The bad: Watch out for goose poop. Luckily my picnic blanket is waterproof but I did have to wash it afterward because goose poop was all over the bottom. The interesting: There are tennis and basketball courts here too.

Yelp
Central Park is tremendous!! and peaceful been going to this place for years the library is remarkable if you go early enough to get there!!
google avatar

Sophie C.

Yelp
Moderate size parking lot, could get busy or have to wait on weekends. This is heaven for the geese who live here. They're plenty of poop droppings as evidence so some areas, especially around the pond might need extra care walking around in but overall a large park with no trouble finding your own spot to sit and relax. No dedicated bike paths but very walkable and flat. Can easily hold kids parties here as well. Some spots are shaded, some are more open, there's something for everyone. It is also quiet, not a place with screaming running kids. Seen some couples walk here, some duo pair of friends to sit and catch up, families, and groups of friends hanging out.

Yelp
Was a really beautiful park to take a nice walk in the afternoon while staying in San Jose for the week... we enjoyed our time at the park

Yelp
I love the nostalgia and all the memories ! Beautiful duck ponds and the kind of play ground that looks unique , made of wood .

Yelp
Thank you to my sis for recommending this place!! Central Park is one of THEEE most beautiful parks I have ever set foot on. With the weather being so warm out, I didn't want to miss an opportunity to get my girl out to enjoy the beautiful sunshine. The park is massive, 52 acres to be exact! It comes equipped with plenty of picnic seating, BBQ pits, basketball courts, tennis courts, children's play area, and there is even an area dedicated for a veterans memorial. Lush greenery surrounding the park makes for the most picturesque images and you will find something alluring everywhere you turn. Trash bins are meticulously placed throughout the entire recreational area which explains why Central Park is absolutely immaculate. Be advised that while the park is extremely litter free, there is a lot of duck poop found all over. By the end of our visit the stroller was covered in duck feces. [[BLEH!!]] 5/5 stars even with all the poopy problems. I love how everyone we encountered was so friendly and I really appreciated how park-goers respectfully stuck to socially distancing. Highly highly recommended!!

Yelp
I wish I had known about this park earlier! It is MUCH smaller of course but does remind me of its namesake in NYC. There is a nice body of water with a lot of beautiful birds (watch out for the poop though) and different sections with plenty of seating where you can hang out. We picked up some food and picnicked under the tree and watched the birds which made for a lovely afternoon. There was a couple that started feeding the birds nearby which became quite frenzied quickly which forced us to move. But all good will come back for sure.

Yelp
If you just wanna escape from reality go here. Sit down on a bench looking at the water listening to music. Best thing you can do
google avatar

Terri L.

Yelp
This park is pretty amazing in my opinion because it gives you a piece of the forest while still being in the city. There are plenty of private party spaces so it's a good place to host events and hang out with folks. Along with the private party spaces, there's plenty of parking with a decent size lot. There's also plenty of playgrounds for kids to play on and it's pretty lively that way especially on the weekends. The park has a good amount of shade spots to chill in if you're not able to find a table to sit on. If you're a pokémon go player, there are plenty of stops there and there is plenty of shade to just chill and catch. Just watch out for a little goose poop bombs as they are around and there's quite a bit of them. I would check out this park as it's a really good place overall.
google avatar

Cherie T.

Yelp
I like that this park is right behind the library. After a few hours of quiet time in the library, we would walk out the backway which leads us to a pond with lots of ducks and geese. keep walking further and you will find a gazebo with lots of tables and benches. Walking past the gazebo, you'll find a small playground area. This playground is for kids under 6, none of the slides are very big / steep. But if you walk across the bridge, you will find yourself in another part of the park where you'll see another playground that is more for older kids! I would avoid the green area where the pond is, so many duck / geese poops - just not very clean. if you want a cleaner area to picnic, i would go to the other side where the big kid structure is, the grass there are greener and cleaner. I would have given this park a 4 stars but a lot of the pathway is filled with poops. just not very clean. and those geese are quite aggressive - -scary!
google avatar

Damian M.

Yelp
As long as you avoid the goose droppings this is a really nice spot. This park really has everything, baseball fields that become flag football fields for SCPAL, multiple BBall courts, an amazing pool complete with a smaller shallower pool for young 'uns that don't swim yet, Two large and well maintained playgrounds for different age groups, group picnic areas (HUGE), fountains, and a huge well appointed library. Plus, on pokemon go community days the high number of pokemon stops, gyms and parking mean you can spend the entire block here and always have teams to raid, plenty of spawns, and people to trade with.
google avatar

Kristi G.

Yelp
This park is not your typical plastic playground, it is fully made of wood & stone with one metal slide & ladder. Lots of space for kids to climb, scale & dig. One regular, one baby swing. But really open area and kids (2, 3, & 5) spent 4 hours here. There is a bathroom. Large parking lot off kiely right after you pass homestead. You have to walk straight over the bridge to find this larger structure (the baby playground is right next to the parking lot)
google avatar

Henry L.

Yelp
Central Park is always teeming with life. My favorite spot to park is the parking lot off of Kiely right next to the rec center. Parking is always available and leads right to the trail which is good for bicycling or walking through the park. Depending on the time of the day you may need to avoid stepping or cycling across droppings left by the fowl mostly grass). There will be clearings and grass that are clean and can be used for sports or picnics. Basketball courts are available to shoot around or play some pick up ball. For those with children, there is both a standard plastic playground for toddlers and up, and a wooden structure for 5+ and older who enjoy tag and other games. Practitioners of striking or grappling arts can easily find space to lay out mats / gear for some drilling or sparring. Last, I recommend visiting here after 5 to avoid the mid day heat. You will find transients once in a while who seem a little edgy. Practice situational awareness.

Yelp
Have been to this park multiple times to attend a yearly picnic, or walk around. It is a great and lively park with usually multiple private parties/picnics going on during summer season. For picnics there is a bbq area where you need to bring in your coal and supplies to get started with the bbq. There are a lot of seats to sit, eat, and have a nice conversations around bbq area. In the middle of the park, there is a water body where ducks usually swim or may be sail..haha :D And that area is circled by concrete footpath, where one can walk and soak in the sun on a sunny day. Footpath is surrounded by nice green area, where people usually sit and eat/relax. Restrooms here are usually very clean with plenty of supplies. They have a good amount of trash cans spread throughout the park that helps to keep the park clean. Santa clara city library is walkable distance from this park. So you can club your park and library activities together :D There is plenty of parking in multiple lots surrounding the park so its definitely a convenience!
google avatar

Marcus C.

Yelp
Don't get me wrong, I like this park. I've been coming here for more nearly 20 years. However, the homeless problem in the main picnic/BBQ area has really become an escalating issue. I had my hopes set really high on having my sons 1st bday in this area but it has practically been taken over. The cooking areas, the sinks, the tables - they've made out their personal home. Even going as far as pitching up tents right next to it to claim their territory. They mean no harm and one of them is actually pretty nice. It's just.. not what the area is meant for. And I wish something more was being done to give them an area for their own or convince them to relocate.
google avatar

Naresh A.

Yelp
Best park around Kiely! I have run a halfmarathon in this park and didn't feel bored! Lots of kids, ducks. Vibrant and fun!
google avatar

Benny H.

Yelp
A great park in the heart of Santa Clara, also known as the Pokemon Go park. Why? This location gets a ton of rare Pokemon all the time. With that being said, it's a pretty decent sized park with a great water fountain in the middle. It's a clean park and feels pretty safe, even at night. It never feels overly busy and there is plenty to explore. Feels like a great place to bring the family, which is always a great endorsement for a park.
google avatar

Jasmine C.

Yelp
Spacious, very well kept park with two playgrounds - one for the little ones and one for bigger kids. They also have outdoor workout stations so if you don't have a gym membership but want some basic equipments, get out here! Lovely pond with birds chilling. My pups loved our walk! They, at times, have festivals or events here as well.
google avatar

Vishnu K.

Yelp
We reached at this location after a neighborhood park we originally planned to do a family portrait photoshoot at, was closed. We were initially doubtful if his would make a good backdrop with so much crowd. It proved us wrong. It had several locations which a family photographer can use for a setting. I was glad I was able to create beautiful memories for a family of 3. The location had ample parking space, conveniently located. The only negative aspect was that it was not very well maintained. Overall - would go back there if someone was looking for a family portrait photoshoot in South Bay are
google avatar

Josephine F.

Yelp
Really great local park. Large, plenty of grass and space to hang out, picnic, throw a frisbee, etc. BBQ area has a sweeping canopy over it. The wires leading up to the middle in a tent shape have lovely vines that have started growing up towards the center. It's going to be quite beautiful! It's a great location to have a summer BBQ. Plenty of space for dogs. Plenty of parking.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is ok and chills not bad at all!.. I know more beautiful parks in SF, Monterey and more:). Walking and jogging, running;) is closed by everything!.. IDK what's else to say more haha;) all parks same right I mean is 20% hehe

Yelp
If you are a resident of Silicon Valley (specifically around the Santa Clara/Cupertino/Sunnyvale/San Jose area), or if you are just a visitor to the South Bay, I highly recommend that you check out Central Park. Santa Clara's Central Park, not to be confused by the big one in New York, is a giant community park filled with adventures for all ages. I've lived in the South Bay for a bit over a year, and until recently, did I actually take the chance to go explore around the park. And what a mistake on my end, because this local park is gorgeous. In it, you will find ponds for ducks, a community swimming pool, a train for kids even, and also basketball courts. It definitely reminds me of the OC's Mile Square Park back at home. Getting to this park is actually really easy. It's located on Kiely Blvd nearby Homestead. It's close by to major expressways (e.g. Lawrence and San Tomas) and so it should be pretty smooth getting to Central Park. The only crazy times when there's traffic is probably around 5pm when people get home from work (ugh Apple people) and also during 4th of July celebrations. Speaking of which...I actually walked to this park during 4th of July with my girlfriend, and this is when you can get the full, raw experience of Central Park. Every year during Independence day, the park throws a HUGE party for families all around the Santa Clara area. The park gets PACKED with people who bring kids, BBQ, tents, etc. This is a really great experience, and one that opened my eyes to how wonderful the park is. It's a huge gathering place for everyone in Silicon Valley and I'm glad to be a part of it. I have to give Central Park an "omg, I'd travel 2 hours for this." It's a wonderful park, and you can definitely spend an entire day here! Have fun and prosper,

Yelp
What a nice find! I've never known about this park even though I've been in San Jose forever (ok not really *forever*. I was born in 1292 and I drink the blood of the innocent to stay young) There is a super cute duck pond with a lovely fountain in it. There is a walking path around it. There's a couple of small bridges with a stream that runs under them. Negative point: the walking loop is actually kind of small. Positives: this place has a crazy awesome combination of amenities, including: Swimming pool Tennis courts Basketball court Playground Exercise circuit (outdoor equipment) Baseball field Library Duck pond Walking loop It is regularly used for special events, and is supposed to have an awesome fireworks show for the 4th, and a number of other things that happen. Here's a direct link to the parks and recreation "special events" page if you're curious (it will take you out of Yelp): http://santaclaraca.gov/government/departments/parks-recreation/parks-recreation-special-events There were a lot of complaints about the bird poo when I was checking out others' reviews. I didn't really have a big issue with it. Maybe they are cleaning more regularly now, but I didn't even notice when I was there. No more so than any other park with birds, anyway. I mean seriously, how did I not know about the existence of this place?? The parking does get rather full, but I you drive to the very back there's usually spots. Almost no shade to be found anywhere though.
google avatar

James L.

Yelp
This is a great park in the center of a metro area. They have a very nice pavilion, pond, play grounds, exercise trail, sports facilities, a center, and many great places to sit back or lay down and enjoy the day.
google avatar

David N.

Yelp
This park is Beautiful! My first time driving here the map took me to the apartment a cross the street. The park water is so dirty with some trash and algae. I can't even walk without looking on the ground to see if I step in poop. The park have a picnic area with tables and bbq pits. Big grass on the other side of the park. Don't forget they even have a playground for the kids.
google avatar

Paul N.

Yelp
I've stopped by and walked around this park a few times and even had a picnic twice with a group of former co-workers. It's definitely a large and beautiful park in the center of Santa Clara. Plenty of picnic tables (some of them on a first-come, first-served basis), a couple basketball courts, bocce ball courts, and a swimming pool. Plus, there are tennis courts near the Community Center (Kiely side). The Central Park Library is also located on the south side of the park. There are three parking lots: One of them is on Kiely Blvd. which has the Community Center, the second is also on Kiely but towards Homestead Blvd. and next to the small stream, and the third is past the library's main entrance and on the east side of the park where the swimming pool and baseball fields are located. Generally, it shouldn't be a problem finding parking, though on the weekends and holidays along with special events it might be. Canada Geese and ducks like to hang out especially around the small lakes and streams, so be aware of them and their droppings on the sidewalk. You probably shouldn't feed them as it'll encourage them to stick around for longer. Overall, this is a great park in Santa Clara and probably the most popular in the city to do recreational activities.
google avatar

Ashley P.

Yelp
This place is so nice! I recently went and I had so much fun walking around, exploring, and taking cute pictures with my friend! It's nice to go with family or friends, to go on a run or to have a picnic!
google avatar

Richard O.

Yelp
Just moved to Santa Clara and this is one of my favorite parks that has a lot of different types of venues and a big swimming pool I'm looking forward to the 4th of July celebration
google avatar

Jarren S.

Yelp
Nice park! Unfortunately, there's soooo much poop on the ground from the animals but it's definitely a busy and feels pretty safe! There's a swim school right there, a lawn bowling area, a playground for kids, basketball courts, tennis courts, a recreational area I saw classes being held, plenty of grass, a baseball field, and a public library nearby.
google avatar

Lawrence H.

Yelp
Solid park but there's an insane amount of goose poo and last time we visited there's a man in the pavilion who will scream and chase you so as long as you stay not in the pavilion area it's fine :)
google avatar

Isha A.

Yelp
There's no best way to chill out and spend an all day's work reading a good book or staring at the sky in a grassy field. Grab a pastry, snack or a beverage at Cafe Sarah and it's sure to satisfy your day.
google avatar

Paul G.

Yelp
Great park to entertain the kids. Plenty of parking is available, and the restrooms actually have soap! That's pretty rare for public park restrooms and the lack of soap always grosses me out. The play structures are old but in good shape. We weren't able to visit the entire park, but there is plenty of seating and picnic tables. There were 4 separate picnics/bbqs/parties happening on the Saturday afternoon we visited.
google avatar

Keven W.

Yelp
We came here for the Pokemon event that is bagon and there was quite a lot of people there during the event that parking was hard to find. I was really surprised with the amount of people that came. The park itself is big, has a huge dining area to hold parties and there can be quite a lot of them. A pond, but beware of the bird poop as there is a lot. Tons of pokestops and gyms. The library is nice too, but I am sure that can get crowded as well. I would come back here for pokemon.
google avatar

Michelle M.

Yelp
Great park that is clean, spacious, and really well maintained. I have been coming to this park for four years it is safe, and Zen. Around the holidays they have a really great tree lighting ceremony, and lot of fun events. The fourth of July is pretty great as is everything else they have done. Who ever their park and recreation team.is they are doing a great job. Not to mention their event planner seems to be on top of their game.
google avatar

Ivy L.

Yelp
We didn't know about this park until we came to visit the library. We were pleasantly surprised with this park - it's of decent size and lots of birds hanging out. This is also a really place to catch Pokemon - lots of poke stops and rare finds. The path is nice for walks it's not very long but good to do laps. Beware though when walking in the park of the duck/geese poop.
google avatar

Gene B.

Yelp
Needed a park to walk our dogs, but was not familiar with the neighborhood. We randomly chose Central Park and glad we did. We started our walk during sunset then ended on sundown. It seems to be a safe park as far as I can tell. There were many folks walking around. You'll get a walk out of this park.
google avatar

Amanda N.

Yelp
Central park is great for BBQ's, walking your dog or even let your dog run freely, and if you have kids, there's two playgrounds here. This park includes a basketball court and a tennis court. Be on a look out for awesome events online! They host a lot of events such as BBQ cook out, art and wine festival, 4th of July, and this Holidays they had/have a mini Christmas in the park-like. I guess the only downfall is that there's a lot of duck poo poo lol
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
What's not to love about a park with green grass, wildlife to watch, plenty of space to social distance with neighbors and friends at, and paths to walk and explore?!
google avatar

Anson W.

Yelp
Happy Independence Day! Awesome fireworks show here tonight, in 20 minutes of our taxpayer money going up in brilliant flames. The end was wild. There were so many fireworks going off at once that the whole park was lit up like it was daytime! There must have been 10,000 people crammed into the park and on the street (Kiely Blvd, which was closed off to vehicles). What fun! The ensuing traffic jams when the event was over, not so fun. Good thing we live nearby and could walk over, muahaha. During the rest of the year, this is a great park with a ton of space, basketball courts, short trails, a duck pond, an amphitheater, and is situated close to the Community Center, the Swim Center and the Library. And in Silicon Valley where space comes at a premium, this is one huge park indeed. The softball field is also home to events during the year, like last week's Silicon Valley BBQ Cookoff. With so much going on at Central Park, there's never a dull moment!
