"Not only will you not feel like you’re in west London at Ceru, you also won’t feel like you’re in England anymore. This spot in South Kensington is a bright space, with plenty of Aztec upholstery, an open kitchen, and more mint yoghurt than that time you tried to cure your sunburn on the cheap. Their modern Levantine dishes are perfect for sharing, with plenty of humous, fresh salads, spiced meats and seafood. Just don’t go too heavy on the cucumber martinis, unless you want to explain to your colleagues why you tweeted ‘#HOLLIBOB2K18’ at 9pm on a Wednesday evening." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, eileen twum
"Ceru is a cheerful Levantine restaurant with a long menu that you should approach as more of a checklist. Sure, you might doubt whether you can fit in karides, houmous, hamara, a feta salad, zucchini fritters, merguez chicken, and a whole lamb shoulder all in one sitting, but please know that we’re rooting for you. And your stomach capacity. But whatever you do, don’t skip the houmous here as it’s some of the best in town. It’s also worth noting that they do £11 big lunch platters that are guaranteed to arrive within 20 minutes, which is perfect if you’re looking for a great, quick bite between museums. When you’re after a bit of this and a bit of that, mini-chain Tapas Brindisa also works for a decent spread. Although there isn’t any of that houmous in sight, they serve the classics like jamon iberico, patatas bravas, and gambas al ajillo." - heidi lauth beasley

"Ceru is one of the sunniest restaurants in this part of town, and along with the modern Levantine dishes, their new and expanded -for-2020 al fresco dining area gives this South Ken spot proper vacay feels. The all-day menu is full of seafood, fritters, halloumi and spiced meats. Basically, if it goes with mint yoghurt, it’s on the menu." - oliver feldman, heidi lauth beasley
"Ever found yourself screaming ‘why Thor, why’ at the sky in the middle of August? Of course you have, you live in England. But rather than trying to invent another pseudo sun dance, just head for Levantine spot Ceru in Kensington. This place has enough rainbow Aztec upholstery, cucumber martinis, and mint yoghurt on the menu to make you forget all about the weather outside. The seafood here is always a good call, but what you really want to get involved in is their £10 market platter that has a whole lot of halloumi, feta fritters, and freshly baked pita bread going on." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing
