Chicago's Margarita Power Rankings - Chicago - The Infatuation

"If you’ve ever found yourself at the Lakeview Mariano's, chances are you unknowingly zoomed past Cesar’s Killer Margaritas. But this busy Mexican place is worth knowing about. They have a great selection of margaritas and a relaxing sidewalk patio perfect for people-watching. Margaritas here come in all sorts of fruity varieties, like guava, banana, and chamoy, and can be customized with salt, chile salt, or sugar on the rims. And though these lean a little sweet, they are surprisingly strong. Don’t plan on making clear-headed grocery decisions at Mariano’s afterward." - john ringor, veda kilaru

Where to Celebrate Pride in Chicago | Eater Chicago

"A destination for — what else — margaritas, Cesar’s is putting its spin on Pride month with bright and boozy “pride-rita,” a concoction of strawberry, lime, mango, and blue curacao, throughout June. A portion of proceeds from drink sales will go to LGBTQ healthcare center Howard Brown Health, which has a location blocks away from the bar." - Naomi Waxman

Cesar's Killer Margaritas - Review - Lakeview - Chicago - The Infatuation

"Though they have a pretty sizable menu of Mexican food, with anything from tacos to baby back ribs slathered in green sauce, the real draw of this casual Lakeview spot is its margaritas. Whether you're here with a few friends in the winter trying to pretend like snow isn't real or are enjoying their laidback sidewalk patio on a sunny afternoon, you can count on Cesar's for a reliable boozy beverage any time of the year. They have all sorts of fruity varieties, like guava, banana, and chamoy, and can be customized with salt, chile salt, or sugar on the rims. And while these margaritas are on the sweeter side, they are surprisingly strong, so we like to pace ourselves by snacking on their complimentary chips and salsa between sips." - John Ringor

Where to Order To-Go Cocktails in Chicago | Eater Chicago

"Cesar’s has a stacked lineup of to-go frozen margaritas (16 or 18 ounces), in flavors like classic lime, chamoy, tamarindo, guava, and more with optional flavored pearls. Groups and indecisive types can mix things up by ordering flights of four 8.5-ounce frozen margaritas." - Naomi Waxman

Sarah our waitress was great!! She was prompt, checked on us and was very personable and friendly. We were here in Chicago for a bachelorette party and she made us feel at home and had a great time! The food was delicious as well as the drinks! Omg! We had just finished lunch and were about to bounce and she got us a round of shots. She is so amazing and we hope you get the chance to have her as a waiter. She was just the absolute best.

Google
Food here is delicious and service is fast. We sat at the table with window view which was tight but comfortable. Margaritas are tasty but can only get one flavor and I'd 100% come back to try something else on the menu. We got the nacho fries with chicken and the birria beef tacos, 10/10 they had to roll me out of there.

Google
We are visiting from Hawaii and our family brought us here to sit on the patio and have their famous strawberry margarita pitchers. I had the queso birria and it was AMAZING. Pablo was our server and took really good care of us. He was extremely attentive and quick with his service. Very polite and professional. Will be coming back when I visit next. Highly recommend! Ask for Pablo.

Shannon Harris

Google
Pablo service was beyond amazing!!! Every time I come here food is so delicious.... Margaritas are really to die for. I have not had a complaint. I've been here at least 4 times. I had Spinach enchiladas and Blood orange and pomegranate Margarita. Thank you guys for always being great! Shots are also amazing!!!

We took my son here to celebrate his 23rd birthday. A Big Mistake! Upon arrival, we were told there would be a 30min wait for our party of 5. No problem, we said we would wait. At the time we were the only party waiting in lobby. While waiting around 40mins to be seated about 4 other parties came in. 1 had a reservation and was seated right away, understandable. There was another party of 5 with 3 adults, possibly a 10yr old, and maybe a 16yr old that the hostess sat down before my party. When we questioned it we were told because they have smaller kids. Which I felt was some bull crap. First red flag. After looking around everyone that came in after us had now been seated and we were seated last. Now to the table and service. We were seated around 7:10pm or so. The air was blasting in the place so I couldn't even remove my jacket. Alphonso the waiter comes over and takes our order. He needed assistance reading the driver's licenses for age verifications and also seemed a little pressed. 20mins have passed and my husband looked at me and said we don't get chips and salsa? I said to him I have no clue but we saw a table that was sat down after us, received some. Shortly after this the chips and salsa were placed on the table. Along with the appetizers and the entrees that were ordered. Basically all at once. At this point, the table is crowded and we barely have room to eat comfortably. We still tried to manage and make it work. We mentioned we were there celebrating a birthday and that meant nothing. I ordered corn shells with my meal and was given flour shells. I just kept them. Alphonso was not attentive and barely checked in on the table. In the end, we found out why! Cesar's adds an automatic 20% gratuity to parties of 4 or more or if your bill is over $100! This is unacceptable especially when service is crappy!! Now to paying the bill. The check comes out and it's $279. My husband gives Alphonso $40 cash and his CC for the remainder. There's also a $7 charge for using a credit/debit card! He scans the card at the table and pauses. Then says I'll be right back and walks away with the CC. My husband checked his account and was charged $288. Then reversed, and $247 was charged. So now there's a hold on his card for $500+ for a meal for 5!! We brought it to Alphonso's attention and he says he reversed the $288 charge and gives us a receipt that says voided. We got the receipts and our leftover containers and just left because the restaurant was closing. I got home and looked at the receipt he gave us that said void on it and it was not the receipt for our table. This was no celebration for our son's birthday. It was more like a disaster. They do not have to worry about me driving 50 mins away ever again to patronage this establishment. This was our 2nd time here and our last time!!

Google
The name does not lie. The margaritas? Strong, fresh, and absolutely living up to “killer.” The food? Flavor-packed and perfect for soaking up said margaritas. Service is quick and friendly without feeling rushed, and the whole place has that fun, high-energy vibe that makes you want to linger for just one more round. It can get a little loud, but that’s part of the charm in this neighborhood; you’re here for the energy as much as the food and drinks. Pro tip: don’t skip the house specials… they know what they’re doing.

Kathleen Cook

Google
First, you’re going to want to sit with Sarah. She helped us at the bar and made fantastic recommendations. The guava frozen margarita she made was AMAZING! Also, the birria tacos did not disappoint. I’m sad that I don’t live in town because I’d be one of her regulars. Mexican food in an old house?! Such a win.

Elizabeth Dorwart

Google
A convenient neighborhood option for a casual dinner, but nothing too special. Margaritas are premixed so no options to personalize or special order. The food is fine and some dishes are better than others - I recommend sticking to ordering the apps and splitting vs individual entrees. Less disappointment that way. Otherwise this place is average and I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit if it wasn’t in the neighborhood. But not in a rush to return either.

Yelp
Been here twice. Ordered the Queso Barria both times as a main and it was great both times. Staff are friendly. Service can be slow at times. The restaurant can be loud at times, but we have only ever sat upstairs so are not sure if it's different downstairs.
google avatar

Yelp
First of all, they had me at margaritas. The food is decent, but let's be real--this is your margarita spot. Perfectly boozy, not overly sugary, and absolutely mission accomplished. There's nothing worse than a too-sweet, watered-down margarita, and that's not what you get here. My fiancé had a plain margarita, and I went for the strawberry--both were spot on. We also ordered chips and queso and some chicken tacos. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't the star of the show either. I do wish they'd upgrade to blanco queso, which would make a big difference, and switch to fresh tortilla chips. Those store-style chips are a no-go for me. Overall, though, this is a great spot for drinks, and we'll definitely be back when we're in the mood for margaritas.
google avatar

Yayo T.

Yelp
Ole to Cesar's. Where else can you buy jumbo Margaritas and the regular Margarita is huge too? The food is delicious. The chicken fajitas are large and filled with flavor. The staff is friendly and attentive. The Margaritas are not fresh squeezed lime juice. They do use a sour mix, but for some reason, they're addictive. Maybe it's the massive size... come in, drink up, enjoy

Yelp
I always assume when I see a name like this, that it's just going to be an Americanized version of Mexican food, but I also love being proven wrong; Cesar know what he's doing. These were some of the best birria tacos I've had on the north side, only to be out done by Birrieria Zaragoza; but they were originally south side, so does it really count? Idk. You can be the judge of that. Either way, they're the best you can get in Lakeview and you have to check this place out. It's also massive, perfect for getting all your friends together,. Aaand the wait staff are On. Top. Of. It. My water was never empty, and any time we wanted more food or drinks, someone was there. I love all the lights and art everywhere too, and the music was top notch. The only downside is that it's pretty pricey, but I expect that in Lakeview

Yelp
Amazon variety of margaritas they are made with real fruits. Love the free homemade salsa. They are the first Mexican restaurant where I found chicken birria tacos they are delicious.

Yelp
First off, parking is a nightmare around here. Basically, you sshould begin looking for parking about a block away. This is a busy area and it's even more busy on in weekend. We patornized on the weekend and found a park a block away. Now, apparently there is a waiting list, which we didn't know about because they told us the wait was about hour. I immediately replied, "for tacos"? The hostess looked at me, nodded and smiled, then relied "yes". We opted to wait. We were seated within 5 minutes, since we only had a party of 2. Bar seating was faster, but I noticed, many people had a party of 4 or more. There is no waiting area, so you are basically standing in the entrance off to the side. This was a problem for me, especially with a hour wait. Luckily, we were seated alto sooner. The restaurant is much larger than it looks from the outside. We were seated at a cozy table near the kitchen.......Since they were taughting an hour wait, I wasn't upset. It was tight but it was fine. The decor was average. Pinewood tables and semi booths.....Festive and functional. The Food: I had the chicken and steak fajitas with corn tortillas. The wife had a ground beef taco dinner. Both came with a side of rice and beans. Also, since they are known for their Margaritas, with wife ordered a frozen strawberry one.......I went in for a taste and I must say, it might be the best margarita i've every had. I was plesantly surprised byt the food. The fajitas were perfectly cooked and well seasoned. The corn totillas were steamed and began to tear apart so I asked for flour......Perfect......The portions were enough to share, which ultimate led to us getting to-go boxes. Conclusion: The food was good, similar to Uncle Julio's but better. The parking is a problem. I would consider trying to find parking via an app or looking a block or so away........Don't forget to get on the waiting list before you arrive, espically if you have a large party. This is the prefect place to have dinner and go for drinks. There are quite a few bars in walking distance. We would definitely return.

Yelp
Margaritas are so good and Pacheco and Chris always takes great care of us ! Fun atmosphere!

Yelp
The place is a little small! Well smaller than I expected. So I would say come early if possible if you are coming on the weekend. They open up at 12pm. The washrooms are clean. Our waitress Jennifer was nice. Service was fast too but it was only my mom and I and another two people that were there. We got there when they opened. Walking in you could smell fresh tortillas. Yummm! We order Enchiladas with Mole Poblano steak for me and chicken for my mom. She said her chicken enchiladas was dry. My steak enchiladas were delicious! The quality of steak was good quality! Nice and tender. The rice and beans were good too. Our meal came with a tomato broth based thin spaghetti based soup. It was tasty! We also had guacamole and chips. I personally feel like they could add more lime and onion to it. I would order it again and just ask for more lime and onion. We both had Pina Coladas. They were STELLAR! Perfectly blended! Perfect balance of pineapple and coconut. Liquored up proper too! I like this place! I will be back!!!

Yelp
First time here with my Australian relatives visiting. Margaritas were delish but even better was the service by Juan who has worked there over 17 years. He was so helpful, friendly and the best margaritas ! The gauva was amazing.

Melissa R.

Yelp
The place known for the "Killer Margarita" uses a "premade" drink. Epic fail drinks and food...not close to tasting like it did in years past. Not worth the commute to return
google avatar

Becca B.

Yelp
Cesar's Killer Margaritas off Broadway is a popular restaurant in Chicago because of the incredibly tasty margaritas and entrees. You have to start your meal off with the queso dip or the elotes appetizer! The house chips and fresh salsa are free to begin with, but if you want a refill, that will cost you extra. Our table ordered a mix of items to try out: the 3 taco dinner, the fat burrito, and house special queso birrias. While you are here, you MUST order a margarita...the place is named after their tasty and loaded margaritas! Because of the popularity, there may be a small wait to get in, but the wait is totally worth it. Make sure to add Cesar's Killer Margaritas to your food bucket list in Chicago, Illinois.

Yelp
Cesar's has massive margaritas and some really good Mexican food. We sat upstairs and they were very attentive and quick with bringing things out.

Yelp
Always a blast when I come here!!! I can't get enough of their margaritas. There's no question about them being killer.

Yelp
Right upon entering the space, one is immediately greeted with "no". Signs both handwritten and electronic media stating all the things they "won't do". Will not seat parties more than 6, will not allow you to be here longer than 90 minutes, will not split checks, will not take your order if you are on the phone... I need to be clear here, most of the above are very normal levels of expectations when people go into restaurants. It's unfortunate that this restaurant needs to list the dos and don'ts of being a good customer. However, as a good customer (former server/bartender here) it just feels very off putting when walking into the space. Service was very slow. They seem very understaffed. Food was mediocre at best. Margaritas were great, though!
google avatar

Wynetta S.

Yelp
The food was delicious, I haven't been there since the pandemic. I sat at the bar, the bartender wasn't that friendly but I made it work. The service was ok bc the bartender wasn't attentive. The vibes were average but overall good experience. I got me a to go Mango Margarita.
google avatar

Emily A.

Yelp
The poblano shrimp dish was very much enjoyed by me and my friend. The game was on. It was a good time.
google avatar

Fontazia B.

Yelp
Service was great! Food was soo amazing and drinks were really good a little too sweet but we loved them the ambiance and music we loved great experience although they only take 4 cards for a bigger party I had a party of 6 FYI so plan accordingly definitely recommend and would come here again thank you for everything.
google avatar

Kit C.

Yelp
We ordered carry out via the website before heading to the restaurant but they didn't "get" the order so we had to wait for about 30 mins for the to start our order. The tacos were a bit dry but considering we did carry out. The drinks were good and strong. We didn't dine in but the restaurant seemed huge and spacious with super loud music. I'd like to give them another try an dine in one day.

James O.

Yelp
Steak Fajitas: Meat not cut or recognizable as sliced steak as expected. Not grill burned or slightly red on inside. Almost like boiled stew meat. Same for onions, peppers. Cesar's Spinach Wrap: Vegetables were steamed, expecting grilled. Chicken also not grilled. Could you not afford to give more lettuce, tomato as a side than a few tablespoons? Get the feel that place has sacrificed food quality to maintain price which likely means they are having difficulty competing with other Mexican restaurants in area. At least service was good but dunno re drinks. Definitely don't go for the food.
google avatar

Danielle A.

Yelp
I really like the food here, I always get the same thing. Steak quesadilla, birria tacos, queso fundido with only poblano peppers (no mushroom) and Jamaica margarita on the rocks. The food is always consistent and fresh. One complaint is that I feel like the birria has too much fatty pieces in it and has been losing its flavor lately. Maybe I just had a bad batch. Staff is always very nice and food came out fast. It was a little loud in there but that's most restaurants these days. Someone was celebrating a birthday and the instrument they used to alert everyone they were about to sing happy birthday was one of the loudest things I have ever heard. Literally scared everyone around us, we were all reeling from shock with how loud it was. Anyways, will be back. The margs are good, but you would expect that from a place that is known for margs.
google avatar

Amelia J.

Yelp
After an interesting day at work, I wanted to get the weekend started by having a fiesta in my mouth! I was looking forward to this all day and mapped out where I was going to achieve this........Cesar's on Broadway! (It also helped that it's down the street from where I live.) What an assortment of flavors from start to finish! From the warm tortilla chips, to the soup that was on the house, the enchiladas with rice and beans, to the fresh made donuts that were a delight for dessert, everything was JUST THAT GOOD! But please don't let me forget to tell you about the Frozen Margo Margarita that I had! It's just as good as it looks! With all these unique flavors combined, it becomes sensory overload as they burst in your mouth. I must thank my server for guiding me through the sea of choices to select the most flavorful! It was early and the sun was still out when I finished dinner and left this restaurant. I had to go for a walk. You betcha I had to walk off that Margarita. As I walked back to Lincoln Park from Lakeview, I reflected on the party I just had in my mouth and decided that next time, I will invite friends to join in on the fun!
google avatar

Lilly F.

Yelp
Cute spot in Lake View with great margaritas. Server was friendly, and we sat outside on the street. Only reason for 4 stars was just due to the prices which felt slightly high.
google avatar

Sammy L.

Yelp
Cesar's Is my go to marg spot in lake view. The pitchers are $40 and will have you feeling good. The food is a little pricey but honestly I just go for the margs and chips and am never disappointed. Also if you sit at the bar you get more alcohol haha.
google avatar

Tina L.

Yelp
This place was great! I got great service at the bar. The bartender was very friendly. He even offered my guests and me a free cup of soup! The ambiance is pretty casual and laid back--kind of like a typical bar. I ordered a margarita flight that consisted of a mango, tamarindo, and I believe a chamoy margarita. The margaritas were decent. Not the best I've ever had but pretty good. It was definitely interesting to see a marg flight though! And I think you get a decent amount of margarita per glass. I got the birria tacos as my meal. This was awesome!! The tacos were very large so I had some left over. Yet, while I experienced no issues with my visit, I am knocking off a star because Cesar's is kind of expensive. I paid $50 after tip and I didn't get an appetizer nor a side dish.
google avatar

Yelp
3x size very strong, SAME PRICE as a normal cocktail?! Cesar's is a family-owned Mexican restaurant. Anyone who lives around this neighborhood knows this spot    - Amazing Margaritas, I got the guava and mango (Manager's favorites) -  Tastes really fresh and fruity but not fake - 16 Flavors to choose from: Mango, Strawberry, Lime, Raspberry, Blueberry, Guava, Tamarindo, Peach, Chamoy, Coconut, Blue Caracao, Banana, Jamaica, Horchata, Blood Orange Passionfruit - Rim Choices:  Salt, Chilli Salt, Tajin, No Salt or Sugar  - Huge Sizes, mine was the large 12oz one. It's the same price as normal cocktails out there but 3x the size.  Insane! One was actually enough for me got me tipsy haha - Even BETTER Pina Colada in a pineapple . I really want you to try this, fresh pineapple + coconut + rum . What's not to love? It was DELICIOUS  - Huge patio with lots of seating. At least 20 tables I think - Authentic Mexican food , recommend their shrimp tacos & carne asada fajita. It's the servers favorites  - Large portions - $16 large margarita ($19 Mega & $38 pitchers also available for larger groups. Or if you want to have it yourself ‍) - $26 Steak Fajitas - $22 Shrimp Tacos - $10 Elote We were too full to have their churros or flan. Will be back! Definitely check it out @ + &

Yelp
I've been to the Cesar's that was on Clark many times, but this was the first time I've been to this one. I was expecting it to be the same, but it is much better. It's more intimate, and cuter, with smaller dining rooms on different levels. Note that the online menus don't really reflect the current menu for food or drinks. It's not a problem, it's just different. To start, the signature margarita was fantastic, with just the right balance of lime, tequila, and sweetness. I never liked the nachos at the other Cesar's, so we tried the queso dip, and it was very good, even though it looked a bit like movie theater nacho cheese rather than true queso blanco. But the show stopper was the Costillas en Salsa Verde, which was a half slab of baby back pork ribs simmered in green sauce and topped with onions. Wow! I'm originally from Southern California, and have had thousands of Mexican meals in hundreds of Mexican restaurants, and this is the single best thing I have ever had in any of them. Order it!
google avatar

Rhodesia J.

Yelp
Nice place margaritas was good we order two there and two to go the food was good nice place and atmosphere

Yelp
Cesar's is an awesome spot for both drinks and food! While you're there, you have to try one of their special birria entrees or select from one of their classic mexican dishes. The birria itself is tender and super flavorful, and we loved the cheesiness. The the piña colada in the fresh pineapple is a must! It was so deliciously smooth and the perfect amount of sweetness. Check out all the details below: TEQUILA FLIGHTS Choose 1 from each category, 3 shots total. Añejo, Reposado and Silver, or Flavored STARTERS Fiesta Platter: sampler of elote street corn, fresh guacamole, & queso, served with chips HOUSE SPECIALTIES Queso Birria: melted Mexican cheese blend Quesadillas filled with beef stew meat, garnished with cilantro, lime, & onion, served with Consommé Queso Birria Torta: Mexican sandwich piled high with Oaxaca cheese, stewed beef, beans, & onions, served with an 8oz cup of warm Consomme, garnished with cilantro & lime DRINKS Piña Colada in a fresh pineapple KILLER MARGARITAS Guava Margarita

Yelp
I was surprised how quickly we were able to be seated for dinner on a Saturday night before a show at the laugh factory. Service was quick and friendly, and the margaritas were strong and not too sweet. Portions were large but not overwhelming. The area where we were sitting was playing lots of college football games on the TVs around us, so if you're looking for a place to watch a game, this could be a great option to consider.

Koby F.

Yelp
Miguel and Jennifer are the best! They go above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect.
google avatar

Araceli C.

Yelp
I see on Instagram the margarita flight so I came to try it The bar tender said is no longer available O well let me get the large mango $16 He also bring me a sm house margarita strawberry flavor Margaritas are good killer margaritas
google avatar

Alison O.

Yelp
I love coming here to get the Birria torta! The bread is soft and chewy on the inside but crispy on the outside. The beef is super aromatic with hot cheese and you dip it into their specialty rich consommé. The dish is super flavorful. I've already gotten it 5+ times and it never fails. Highly recommend this over the tacos if you've never gotten it before! Pair that with a mega margarita of your choice and your night will be delightful! I recommend the frozen guava, mango, strawberry, and chamoy. The service and ambiance are good, but it's the sandwich and margaritas that keep us coming back!

Sheryl J.

Yelp
Cesar's is our favorite neighborhood restaurant. In fact, we usually dine there several times a month because the food is delicious, they have the best margaritas in town, the staff is friendly and efficient, and they welcome a very diverse clientele. In short, we love it.

Jillian H.

Yelp
Went here with a few friends on a Friday and were quickly sat. Ordered some steak tacos and of course, their margaritas were awesome! The star of the experience was our server, Juan. He made the experience so great, was so kind and helpful with any questions we had. He's the best!! Cannot say enough kind words about him.
google avatar

Aishah P.

Yelp
UPDATE: finally got to try their Birria tacos and it was soooo good! So flavorful and filling!

Molly Q.

Yelp
Margs were great and had real fruit in them! The portion sizes were large and everything tasted great. Service was fast and responsive. It was way bigger restaurant than I expected too!
google avatar

Veronica R.

Yelp
The service was not so great . The waitress was very rude didn't even offer any of the soup they usually pass out. It's was four of us and one of us got our food way after everyone else did. We literally had to ask for napkins , water because our waitress didn't even bring us any . I understand if it's busy but it really was not that busy that day. The food was a 5/10 .

Kathy M.

Yelp
The food and margaritas are delicious. We had the Queso Birria tacos and the bare it all burrito! A burrito with no tortilla . All had great flavor. Service is excellent! We had Jennifer, was a doll

Dayanara R.

Yelp
The food was fantastic! I had the spinach quesadillas and they were so good. I especially enjoyed the sopa de fideo which tasted exactly how my grandma makes it! Our waitress was so attentive and extremely accommodating when one of the food items wasn't as expected. They were also decorated for halloween which I loved! Overall always a great experience and I bring all of my out of town friends and family to try.

Abby C.

Yelp
Drinks are yummy, summer menu was delicious (sad to see it go), service is a hit or miss. But I like the vibe :)
google avatar

Nicholas W.

Yelp
The margaritas weren't bad, the service was okay, but "authentic"? No way. This is like tourist trap but not even in a touristy area? And Chicago isn't even known for margaritas? So this doesn't even make sense. The chips were absolutely awful and we got the queso which was just nacho cheese, but even more bland? The best part of this experience was the frozen margaritas, which were really just okay... but were stronger than I was expecting! Wouldn't recommend or go back, but the margaritas were fine.

Yelp
After reaching out to this place multiple times, multiple ways I received no call back. A call back could have easily avoided my bad experience. Normally, I would not have a place a chance with poor communication (i.e. customer service) but I gave it a chance anyway. The point of my contact was to be sure this restaurant could accommodate a party of my size. (18 people) Now this is not uncommon for me. I typically pick a mexican restauraunt every year to dine at where my friends and I spend alot of money and time enjoying. The guest size has ranged from 15- 22. This is my reason for reaching out because the did not do reservations but I wanted to be sure they could accommodate AHEAD OF TIME. No response. The people I spoke with about it while at the restaurant were very rude and unaccommodating. Once we arrived. They split our tables up, which would not have been a problem except the tables were in TWO SEPERATE LOCATIONS OF THE RESTAURAUNT. (Like I had to travel down and up multiple flights of steps) EVEN THOUGH, one side of the restaurant had a area large enough to fit and accommodate all of us, they refused to sit us together. One side had a large booth table and then 2 small tables on either side that would accommodate. They even had a lower level that could have fit all of us and refused to sit us there as well. I was then forced to walk back and forth all night to mingle with guests that traveled 3 hours to eat dinner with me at this place that I mistakenly chose. I can only comment on what I tasted but my quests did not like their food as well. The appetizers were not good at all. The queso had no flavor and the elotes had no flavor either. The chicken birra tacos were GREAT! 10/10. That was it. They offered us "free soup". It was cold. Unless it was meant to be served that way. The margaritas These were far from killer. First the "mega" size was like 16oz at best and were horrible and overpriced. If you are looking for a good and large margarita this is not a place for you. This size margarita was $20. I have gotten a 38oz else where for $17! (Lucianas to be exact & you can get multiple flavors that taste delicious!) ** Last thing, one of my guests sat under a leaking ceiling during her dinner, with no help from the server. I guess the leak came with the meal! My people spend over $800 at this location and NONE of us were satisfied. I have never had an issue like this at a restaurant so it was very frustrating. My suggestion is to go somewhere with better communication, customer service and flavor!

Yelp
This ended up being better than expected. We came in on a Tuesday which is arguably one of the most popular days for tacos. It was my friends birthday, it was a party of 7. They at first told us 45 mins which was fine we walked around while we waited. We got a notification that we were next in line. We get back and the hostess says it'll be 20 more mins. That's okay, we have a big party that's understandable. Prob an hour later we get seated. We would've waited however long we just wish it was communicated a bit better, the hostess sometimes had this blank look on her face like she didn't understand what we were saying or asking? Sometimes the guy who was up there would have to clarify for us or her. She was nice though. Food ended up being pretty good and they have this big birthday thing they do and they kept bringing us free tequila shots. Overall would come back with the expectancy that it'll take double or triple however long the host says it'll be.

Yelp
In Lakeview there a few good neighborhood Mexican restaurants and taco places. Cesar's Killer Margaritas is definitely one of them. I've been here twice in the last year, and I've enjoyed each of my visits. On my most resent trip, I tried some interesting dishes that you should try if you go here. First, I started with a frozen blueberry margarita. Of course Cesar's is famous for its huge margaritas and in a ton of different flavors. I typically get a raspberry margarita, but I enjoyed the blueberry one as it wasn't too sweet. I then tried the torti pizza. It's basically a tortilla with melted cheese and toppings. I enjoyed it, it was kinda like an open faced quesadilla or Mexican style thin pizza. I don't think I've seen anything like it at any other Mexican restaurant. I also enjoyed the carne asada and fish tacos I got. For dessert I got churros that came out hot and crispy. On my previous trip I tried their version of quesa-birria tacos. It was not a traditional quesa-birria as the meat was steak, but I enjoyed the treatment of the steak in melty cheese and crispy tacos. On all of my visits, the service was fast and friendly and food came out quickly and hot. I also enjoyed the many TVs that they have around the restaurant and in the bar area. On my last visit I watched Monday Night Football. If you are a sports fan, their bar is good place to catch a game. In sum, this good neighborhood Mexican restaurant in Lakeview that needs to on your list.

Yelp
The margaritas are definitely the star here. They have good flavors and they're always delicious I can only handle 1 mega because they sneak up on you! I love the atmosphere, usually other diners are friendly and having a good time. Service is always good. Last time I was there for lunch and had the Queso Birria. It was flavorful and very good. Would definitely get it again. Also enjoyed the fajitas and nacho fries but the Birria was my favorite. Had the churros and cookie for dessert. Both were yummy. I was stuffed and still ate the dessert so that says a lot! Some of my favorite margaritas in the city.

Yelp
Were seated fast and offered a free sopa Fido. The margaritas were delicious and not too strong. The birra was delicious and filling. It's a good place if you're craving authentic Mexican food with a wide variety to choose from.

Yelp
Great margaritas and awesome service!! First time here and man will I be back. A couple different sizes for margaritas but I recommend getting the pitcher. A ton of different flavors to chose from. Chips are okay, but the salsa is what really makes it! Need that recipe asap!!! Nachos fries were pretty good. Topped with your choice of protein and really flavorful. The staff were super friendly too!

Yelp
The fact that it only took half a glass to get me lifted is INSANE. Peach does it EVERY time at Cesar's Killer Margaritas. During the lunch hours it wasn't that busy, so we got our food and drinks quick. The birrias and elote, both amazing. Will be back.

Yelp
The service was amazing our servers, busser, and all staff was so kind and accommodating. I felt like family. Adan was our great server, he was attentive to our needs and super welcoming. Definitely recommend the quesobirria and margaritas. Music and vibe was chill, great spot!
