Chaat Bhavan Express

We ordered the independence day(July 4th) special Thaali. We were blown away by the number of items on the menu. Everything was delicious. I especially loved the Methi Malai Corn. We also love their Channa Batura. Looking forward to more special event Thaalis.

Had a great experience. I came to this place today and had the world's best pani-puri and chole bhuture made by the chef 🧑🏻‍🍳 Atinder. I would say the chef had magic in his hands because he truly brings the authentic indian taste. The food server named Navjot was friendly, kind and quickly brings our food too. I highly recommend this place to everybody.

My new favorite Indian place in the Bay area. Very clean, Lively atmosphere with nice Indian music playing in the background. Fantastic food! Gurpal and Gursewak were very nice, attentive, friendly, and made great recommendations. Thank you! Must Try!!!😋👌🙏

Had the chaat bhavan snack combo, bombay vada pav, kofta curry thali with chai and chaas. Vada pav was good. Could be better if the chutney were given separately. The snack combo was very good. Thali was wholesome with 2 rotis, papad, sweet dish (gulab jamun). Service could be better because we had to ask for chai and extra roti multiple times.

We were pleasantly surprised to see they had dine in too. We thought it was a take out only location. The kitchen looks pretty large and they accept catering orders too. Food was served pretty quick as well. Good food, clean environment. The makkai Di roti had a good amount of butter. Dahi bhalla was good too. Update: Malai Soya chaap is a must try! Wonderfully soft and like. Sizzler. Good portion size. Parathas are good too - reasonably priced, healthy and a good backup for workday lunch.

I'm not an expert on Indian food, but I know what I like and I enjoyed my lunch quite a bit. First, I believe it's a full veggie restaurant. My friend and I had three items: Chaana Sag, which is garbanzo beans, spinach, and herbs. Very tasty with just the mildest of mild spices. Quite tasty! Second was Paneer Tikka Masala. Truly delicious. Creamy and rich. Cottage cheese squares, onions, and more delicious spices. Not spicy hot at all. We matched these with two types of naan. Regular and garlic. I personally thought the garlic was the best I've had. Crunchy and soft at the same time. Loaded with delicious garlic. Perfect eating with those dishes. You order on the app but unfortunately I have to report the service is very, very slow. For these basic items, probably took 20-25 minutes to receive. And we had to ask for the bill. The lunch section was very small but not cramped. And there is plenty of parking. I did see some outdoor seating which may/may not have been theirs, and it looked like there might be an extension to the restaurant, perhaps for dinner or big parties, but I'm not quite sure. I'm pretty sure I'll come back if I have the time, due to the long wait times.

I'm not too sure what's "Express" about this place... The menu had plenty of items. Actually it looked like a full size menu to us...almost a bit overwhelming if you ask me. Maybe, it's the size of the venue? It was on the smaller side, not a whole lot of seating inside. Perhaps this venue is smaller than their other location. There were a lot of orders being picked up. No complaints: Tasty food, good service, clean and bright on the inside. The place was packed with Indian folks, so we knew the food was going to be good. #DesiEats ~ Aloo Methi Thali - 4.5/5 The Thali is a brilliant value. So much food on the plate. The potatoes were perfectly cooked with a ton of flavor without being greasy or soggy. ~ Bombay Pav Bhaji - 4/5 I didn't know there was an Indian dish that was eaten with a Bun. Very interesting... Mixed vegetables in Masala. Nice kick to it, without being overly spicy. ~ Rajouri Garden Chana Bhatura - 4/5 Very tasty Chickpea curry dish with Paratha. Not too spicy either. ~ Paneer Paratha - 4/5 Tasty paratha with a side of Onions, Lime Pickle and some sort of sauce. I need to come back several times to try more dishes on the menu!

House thali was fresh and tasty. Awesome value for money and great service. Decent outdoor area and lots of space.

Found this while drinking by, decided to stop by. Food is great and clean. Gurpal singh is the best! Thank you. Will definitely go again.

Sev puri- came with 7 puri for $8. Really tasty but hard to share. Came with a group of 4 and I unfortunately only got 1 so it wasn't worth it for me. If it came with 8, I would've been fine. With it if you're with less than 4 people Hyderabadi bagara baigan - this had 4 small eggplants and the sauce was delicious. I would get this again. Methi paratha - good but I could skip it. Overnight dal makhni with warqi paratha- this would good but could skip it because it was more like a soup. Garlic naan- got 2 orders and it was well made, crispy and chewy and not too thick packed with garlic. I'd get it again. Chana bhatura- this was tasty and loved the puff bread with it. Wouldn't mind getting this again. No pic of this since this was a later order. We were still hungry. Masala paneer frankie- really tasty wrap. I'd get this again. No pic of this also since this was a later order as well. Overall the Hyderabadi bagara baigan and masala paneer frankie were my favorites.

Full chaat bhavan regular menu but in a smaller setting. I enjoy chaat bhavan food and never had issues with their regular restaurant menu. I tried their food at Fremont, Sunnyvale and Mountain View. Catering was a mixed experience though. Coming to this location, I was disappointed for the first time with their food. I got the bhel thali and quality of the curries was subpar. The paneer curry was literally water with a few sorry looking pieces of paneer and peas floating in it. The carrot halwa had enough sweetness to knock a person senseless and had a weird taste. Though the bhel was decent, it had a lot of nylon sev. We also got saag paneer and some naans and they didn't disappoint.

Food - 1/10 - we were barely able to finish eating our order. Zero taste. Dripping in oil. Sad excuse for chaats (missing fillings, they just had chutney). Wait staff - rude - kept banging doors and rushing us. I regret being misled by the high star rating this place has.

Good food. Quick service. Ordered chaat items - sev puri, dahi papdi, Chinese bhel, chole bhatura. Most items were good in terms of taste and presentation. My only personal preference would have been to have the sev puri much less sweet for Indian palette. I've always known Chinese bhel to be served a little cool, but this was warm. Tea was ok. Ambiance is also good. Navjot Singh was a good and pleasant host. Thanks.

Good vegetarian food in Bay Area and the service is excellent they recommend according to your taste and the ambience is decent for small to big groups. We had Thali and chole bhature so delicious.

Medium spice, more portion, delicious taste. Would definitely recommend trying the sizzling panner tikka.

Tried the following items Tokri chat - it had chilled aalloo..felt like they just got it out of the freezer. Taste was good though Tika paneer - good Mooli parantha was on the menu but they did not have. Tried gobhi parantha instead. It was ok. I generally like crisp parantha. But it was very soft, and gobhi felt crunchy and undercooked Sprouts chaar - it was ok. Nothing too good. Not bad either

Again my friend Gurjut surprised me with his mastery of spices and chaats from the subcontinent! Never get enough of their chanabathura and their makhluk cheese kulcha!

Excellent corn cheese paratha and amul cheese pav bhaji. Pair it with masala chai on a rainy day and enjoy your fresh food.

Went here on a Saturday evening with a party of 13. Ambiance was beautiful & spacious. Table was readily available. Food came out quickly. Food was fresh, flavorful & tasty. Paneer paranthas, paneer tikka, bhidi, sabudana vada, dahi bata puri all were goood.

Good excellent food.Vegetarian thali is extremely good value with tasty dishes. Drink is included with the meal.

I've only ordered takeout, but their thalis are such an excellent value! Satisfying variety of mostly bean- or lentil-based dishes and the spice level is not too hot. My order is usually prepared fast and I appreciate that the chaas is included, love the cumin. I'm forever screening restaurant health inspector scores with Santa Clara County's "SCCDineOut" app and I appreciate that this restaurant maintains a high score (92/100 as of April 2024).

We came here on a weekend, hungry and tired. The food came out quick and was delicious! We ordered chilli paneer wrap, methi puri, spinach puri and bhindi masala. Everything tasted perfect! The restaurant has a small seating area so it may get challenging to find a seat during busy hours. They also accepted gift cards (when chaat bhavan Sunnyvale gave me a lot of trouble redeeming chaat bhavan gift cards!). I have also catered from this location and would highly recommend!

This is a great new location for Chaat Bhavan. We tried the Dahi Sev Puri, Aloo Tikki with Chana, Hara Bhara paratha and a bunch of other items. Everything tasted great. Our server was Mr. Gurupal Singh. He took good care of us.

The food here is exceptional.. Their Parathas are really tasty and soft. The curries also taste great! The prices are also reasonable.

Food was so tasty and authentic. This is our first time and we really enjoyed every dish we ordered ( palak patta chaat, corn paneer vegetable curry with spring onion naan, dahi batata sevapoori, hara bara bhel, Rajori garden Chana bature) My personal favorite is palak patta chaat and dahi batata sevpoori Definitely recommend it!!!

This location of Chaat Bhavan is newly opened and we tried it because our previous experience with Chaat Bhavan Sunnyvale and Mountain View locations has been great. This location has fresh food and kind people. Loved it! Must go if you are hungry and want good service.

I always come here for the House Thali and its too good. Their sabjis are too good. Highly recommend for the folks working nearby with great location near to a EV charging station. Small setup and quick service.

I was invited to Chaat Bhavan Express a couple of days ago. We shared the tandoori paneer tikka, and pani puri. I ordered a paneer tikka wrap and masala chai for myself. Very yummy food. A couple of days later, I returned to try more. We had a Snack Combo with Dahi Papdi Chaat, and pani puri, plus a Chana bhatura. It was actually a lot of food and we ended taking leftovers home. There was a gourmet touch in the dahi papdi chaat with pomegranate, and the Chana had halved Cherry tomatoes. Nice touches. Again, the food was delicious but the thing I realized was that the atmosphere was very nice with silverware and proper dinnerware. There was jazz Muzak in the background - at the perfect volume too. Even the menus were fancy looking like at a classy sit-down restaurant. Quite the contrast to other fast-food and food truck Chaat places around here. And the prices were the same. Better yet the staff gentleman who served us was attentive and friendly. Wow. So while I will still usually go to the Chaat truck near me, I would recommend Chaat bhavan express for Chaat with friends and a sit-down experience in comfort and with friendly ambience.

Wow. Delicious, fresh tasting food. I got the saag paneer thali, and every dish in it was fresh, light and tasty. Even the rice! Perfect spice level (not dumbed down for the white lady). Sometimes saag can taste overcooked and homogenized. Theirs seemed as though it had just been cooked, and I could taste all the ingredients. Also great service. Our server Gurkirat was polite and attentive and remembered that I wanted my tea after the meal. Gary welcomed us with namaste hands as we arrived. Calm and quiet atmosphere with pleasant decorations. Also, portions are more than I could eat in one sitting. We will be going here again.

Food is decent but service is very slow. Took them 30 mins to bring our tea. We asked them to make it Togo but the Togo container lid dint fit the cup. Made our chai experience pretty sad overall.

The best chole bhature and potato kulcha! Excellent tea, too. Fast service, convenient location with nice decor. Gurpal Singh was excellent and very helpful. Better than the other Chaat Bhavan locations. Highly recommended!

First time visitor and last time visitor - went their a month ago Cholle Bhatura they say is from Rajouri Garden First the color of Cholle is yellow which is put off. nothing closer to delhi Cholle bhature. 2 out 10. And as per them Rajma is known as daal. explanation in their thali menu it's written 2 daal. so we thought we get 2 types of daals . Finally we get 1 yellow daal and 1 rajma . When asked the waiter he said rajma is daal . So if you order daal Makni they will give rajma as it is daal. Don't get surprised? Finally after speaking to 3 waiters and a manager we got daal Makni. one waiter said daal Makni is not made today Other said we give rajma in thali Other said it is error in menu. So request to owner teach one thing to your waiters to say . All the best

We had a great experience at Chaat Bhavan Express. Amazing Coconut Variation dessert... Must try.

counter staff is very friendly and courteous. Gurpal Singh. The service is usually quick. kitchen tries to accommodate our customizations. There's a choice to sit outside in the sun.

Memorial day special thali was really good. Food quality and quantity were of good portions. Service and cleanliness was also good. Overall experience was 5 star.

I was promised a pick up time of 4:11pm. After arriving on time was told to wait. Waited an additional 15 minutes with no update. When asked the server for an update he just said 1 min and disappeared into the kitchen. I guess I just had to wait to see if my food would ever show up. Such lack of explanations and delay after promised time make it seem like these guys don't really don't know what they are doing. They should really learn from the Mt View location which is extremely professional and timely.

Waiter said Chai was free then charged $3 on my bill. I don't think he understands English

Exceptional service and a delightful setting. I explored this venue with my family last week, and the food exceeded expectations, particularly the standout dish - the Strawberry Panna Cotta expertly crafted by Hardev. It's a unique culinary gem in the Bay Area. On another note, my friend informed me that they offer catering services, with Hardev being highly recommended for parties and birthdays.
