Chai Guys Bakehouse Review - Notting Hill - London - The Infatuation

"If you’re a fan of chai, then this Notting Hill bakery and cafe will get you excited. The small shop is filled with a sweet cardamom scent from the caramel-toned tea being poured throughout the day. Exciting-looking pastries sit on the counter, but not for long. The savoury samosa croissant and aubergine danish are our favourite things here. Although the sweet pastries like a tasty, perfectly piped, cream-topped tiramisu bun is like the Italian dessert in pastry form. There’s a bunch of seating inside, so this is a great spot if you’re looking for somewhere for a chill catch-up and a cup of spiced chai on Portobello Road." - Rianne Shlebak

Beeeeeatiful pastries. Really worth the price. The chai is amazing, will definitely come back to try the rest of the pasties and the ginger chai next ♥️ Staff is nice and attentive, quick service. There's not much space to seat and it's quite busy.

Honestly super disappointed!!! I got the iced chai and was very underwhelmed with the flavour! Wasn’t as spiced as I wanted it, tasted like milk with a hint of chai, rather than an actual chai. The pastry’s were underwhelming as well. The cardamom bun wasn’t sweet enough in my opinion, though the texture was good. Masala suisse didn’t have much to it and the top was way too crunchy.

Hands down, the best extravaganza croissant I had. First of all the size - worth every coin, second of all the flavor of the pear, so rich, still crisp not soggy at all, the crispiness of the croissant itself with the indulgent caramel cream on top - exceptional. Plus, the vegan chai was spicy and delicious. And I got a too good to go box later, with the most incredible other pastries. It's a most go.

The staff was helpful and friendly. She kindly explained all the pastries to me, which helped me make the right choice. If you prefer something more to sour (like lemon curd) definitely pick the Passion Fruit Kouign-Amann. Super delicious!! 😋😋. I also had the Masala Chai which was just average. I could taste the spiciness, but the aroma of the spices and tea was lacking.

A unique bakery must to try. They have a brilliant concept of blending chai and pastries. We had a masala tea which was very well made with great spices. Also we had three types of pastries freshly baked and the filling of the pastries was delicious with unique techniques. Highly recommended.

This small bakery near Notting Hill is a nice spot for chai and pastries. I finally stopped by and tried their masala chai and Kashmiri chai, both were full of flavor and so comforting. We also got the pistachio bun and samosa pastry. The pistachio bun was soft, buttery, and had the perfect amount of filling, while the samosa pastry was flaky and packed with flavor. The space is cozy, but there aren’t many seats, so it might not be the best spot if it’s really busy. If you want the full experience, I’d suggest going earlier in the day for a better pastry selection. Overall, it’s a great place to grab a warm drink and a fresh pastry, especially if you’re in the area. I’ll definitely be back.

I recently tried the much-hyped Chai Guys, and to be honest, I was left feeling underwhelmed. The chai was nothing special—definitely not the "wow" factor I was expecting. The filtered coffee was equally disappointing, as it was way too milky for my taste. Overall, it didn’t live up to the hype, and I wouldn’t recommend it. Definitely not worth the buzz.

Really cute and cozy little chai & pastry café. We had the chai croissant and cardamom milk bun -- both delicious. Really nice service too :) Amena was so sweet, helpful, and made us feel welcome.
