The 12 Best Canalside & Riverside Restaurants In London
"Kingston prides itself on being ‘upon’ the Thames. And we can see why when we head to the Riverside Walk on a sunny day. Think couples strolling down the river, watching people row by, and a strip of restaurants and proper pubs. At the start of this strip is Chakra, an excellent Indian spot serving Desi classics like kake da lamb rogan josh and fish moilee. You can’t go wrong with anything, but our go-to order is butter chicken and goan prawn curry, with saffron pulao and garlic naan. If the weather’s nice, sit outside." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak
Chakra Review - Kingston - London - The Infatuation
"Kingston prides itself on being ‘upon’ the Thames. And we can see why when we head to the Riverside Walk on a sunny day. Think people strolling down the river, watching people row by, and a strip of chain restaurants and proper pubs. And at the start of this strip is Chakra, an excellent Indian spot serving everything from Desi classics like kake da lamb rogan josh and fish moilee to lamb chops and mixed grill platters. You pretty much can’t go wrong with anything here, but our go-to order is butter chicken and goan prawn curry with saffron pulao and garlic naan. If the weather’s nice, head outside." - Rianne Shlebak
The Best North Indian Restaurants in London - Eater London
"The buzzy riverside setting is the biggest draw here — but this contemporary North Indian diner, a new branch of the Kensington original, also benefits from gorgeous colours and textures, feel-good ambience, and a highly enthusiastic staff team. Sharbati atta roti made from wholemeal flour milled from sharbati, a superior golden variety of wheat grown in Madhya Pradesh, is a thinner, crisper, denser option to naan that’s well worth trying as it’s not available anywhere else. It’s perfect for scooping up aloo chana made from tea-infused black chickpeas with potatoes, and pahadi chicken spiked with cinnamon, ginger and fresh fenugreek leaves. Seating, both inside and outside, is an imaginative mix of high bar stools, round tables, and a converted pool table that’s something of a talking point." - Sejal Sukhadwala
5 Great Things To Eat & Drink In Kingston - London - The Infatuation
"If going to a restaurant means more to you than just the act of eating, then this spot on the riverside is probably where you want to be. It’s got all the makings of an excellent meal, from a menu of great food, to foliage-heavy interiors, and a lovely outdoor terrace overlooking the Thames. Even though it’s not all about the food, the North Indian dishes here are probably the best in the area. And though the menu has everything from Desi classics like kake da lamb rogan josh and fish moilee, to lamb chops and mixed grill platters, you pretty much can’t go wrong with anything here. Our go-to order is butter chicken and goan prawn curry, with saffron pulao and garlic naan.
Or head to Roz Ana, an Indian spot on Kingston Hill that makes an excellent karahi chicken and dal makhani." - Rianne Shlebak
It was really nice afternoon at kingston, really hungry and quite new to place and I came across this restaurant. I would say must eat in place. Prices were good as per the dish. We have ordered indian cuisine, tasty( avacado rolls we loved the most). Ambient atmosphere. Special mention: Toilets were very clean and no bad smell. Customer service was also good. You can enjoy your afternoon or evening calmly away from city life of london with good food. ☺️.

Lovely restaurant with a beautiful riverside setting. The location and ambiance are both charming and relaxing. The food was delicious and full of flavor. While the portions are generous, the prices are on the higher side—likely due to the prime location.
Service was attentive and efficient.

Chose to eat here as it is in a great spot overlooking the river. It was a sunny evening and all seemed good. What a disappointment. The waiters didn't seem to care less at all, very ambivalent.
We only wanted one main between us as we weren't that hungry but we were told this wouldn't be enough and we had to have 2 - really! The rice was dry and crusty like it had been sat in the fridge foe days and had just been warmed up in the microwave..the curries were meh! And the salty lime drink - yuk! No return for us.

Really good plant-based (vegan) options. Would happily return, but we were told that it's their last day at that location. They're moving into a new location in Kingston.
Good service, good portions.

This is genuinely the best restaurant in Kingston, the food is outstanding and the service provided by Granth was exceptional. The bottomless brunch provides unbeatable value for money. If you like seafood make sure your order the prawns!

We went for an impromptu dinner and it turned out to be awesome. The ambience is great as it at the riverside, the girl taking our order was happy, spoke Hindi as well when we asked and suggested items which turned out to be so delicious, thank you. I recommend you to try avocado ke gole and the chicken curry (if you prefer spicy). I’d happily dine again any day here.
