Texas Snow Cone Shacks Save Me Every Summer | Eater

"A Latine-owned Oak Cliff snack shop where savory street-food items—elotes or a paper tray of hot Cheetos doused in nacho cheese—are commonly paired with mango raspas drenched in chamoy and studded with fresh mango; it also elevates the pickle snow-cone into a decadent 'pickledilly' raspa by adding pickle chunks, generous Tajín, and sometimes Kool-Aid–soaked 'koolickles' for extra tartness and texture." - Amy McCarthy

The natural snow cones are the best so delicious and made with real fruit. I love coming here in the summer and winter. Elotes, raspas,

If you haven’t tried their fresas con crema, you are seriously missing out! The strawberries are always super fresh, and that cream? Sweet, smooth, and absolutely addictive. It’s like the perfect balance of fruity and creamy in every bite. And honestly, all of their fruit is so sweet and flavorful you can tell they only use the best. This place knows how to do it RIGHT. One bite and you’ll be hooked! Don’t walk, RUN!

I’ve been going to the same place for about two years now and my family and I love getting elites and raspados from there. Every time we go they provide great and fast service!!

Prices are to high , presentation, quality and quantity not even worth it. The ladies are rude, and charge for every little thing and not worth it The fruteria next to tacos ricos called antojitos azteca is better. Go there instead.

I don't like that I orden mangonada and I got rasta with mango flavor. When I ask she's like yeah that's mangonada. Noooo I paid for mangona no raspa 😫

Yelp
During this pandemic we're finding ways to support local and small businesses! The weather and just to get out the house was perfect for a stop by chamoy. We drive over 20 miles just to come here. We waited outside for about a good 15 minutes. They are allowing 3 people inside at a time, when someone leaves another person is able to go in. They are wearing masks and gloves. We ordered a chamoyada, elote, and super mangonada. All of it was super delicious. We always find ourselves coming back here at least once a month. 10/10 recommend

Yelp
Chamoy #5 deserves a 3 of 5 stars. 1) The customer service is a bit rude when they are taking your order. 2) There's never a distinct line & they never say "next" or "What could I get you?" 3) As an employee there's a lot you could do to make the spot have more appeal. Yes, the building is old but CLEAN A LITTLE. Even though this has started out to be a bad review, the escamochas are super good & they always cram as much as possible, so that's the plus. & from what I've SEEN so are their mangonadas are too (I've never tried them).

Yelp
Place was great it's small so I do advise to try to wait in car after order . I love their food but sometimes the language barrier is there . Great customer service though. I literally go there every chance I get.

Yelp
I live in North Dallas but I make any excuse to come to Oak Cliff just to visit this place. I usually get the cochinada, a raspado and espirupapas. All that for less than ten bucks. I love this place. it's sooooo good and so cheap

Yelp
When im in town and need a snack, i come to this place. They always make the orders with no disappointments. Best thing on the menu list is the mangonada and the fresas con crema cups, cant ever go wrong with those. I wish there were more of these around though, and hopefully in the future they add more buildings because this place can get packed real quick. The only thing i don't like, is that you have to pay with cash and with a world slowly switching to digital money they need to get with the times.

Yelp
Affordable prices and delicious treats. What more can you ask for? This should be your to go place. And it's a small business! Definitely recommend!

Yelp
I've been coming to this place for years. In all honesty, it's never been ALL THAT great. But it was the only place that we knew where we could find our favorites: mangonadas, chamoyadas, duritos, etc. It really reminded us of our hometown of Monterrey. However, this place has really changed over the past months. ALL the ladies that work there are very rude, especially the one who is usually charging (she usually wears a baseball hat). She literally nods her head implying "What do you want?" Lol. Really? Okay. I'm done with them. I'm sitting here eating my super mangonada from Chamoy. But I've already heard of 2 other places (one off Loop 12 and one off Clarendon) that serve them too. So good riddance Chamoy #5! Your customer service sucked!

Yelp
Customer service could use a huge improvement and they only take cash which limits their clientele. On the other hand, fruit is amazing! I had the Mango Cocktail and the fruit was to die for! Would recommend and visit again.

Yelp
Horrible customer service. We were ignored by three of the workers who were right in front of us. They carried on their own conversation as we stood there ready to order. Due to their lack of professionalism we left.
