What Are the Best Restaurants to Visit in London this Weekend? | Eater London

"A two‑storey Southall stalwart famed for thick, ghee‑oozing Punjabi parathas served hot from the tawa, available in fillings such as fenugreek, cauliflower, paneer, potato, mooli radish and lamb mince; best experienced early for breakfast with pickles and hot drinks. In addition to parathas it offers mithai, jalebi, falooda and chaat, reproducing the street‑market spirit of the Delhi original with huge, home‑style flatbreads." - Jonathan Nunn

Unfortunately, this place did not live up to expectations. Let's start with the positives: firstly, the prices are quite reasonable, which is a plus, and the chaat and Indo-Chinese dishes were okay, they lacked a bit of chutney. The lassi was also great in taste and thick. Now, for the negatives: the aloo paratha lacked flavour and was not the authentic Punjabi style I had hoped for, which was very disappointing. The biggest issue, however, was the time and service. The service was extremely slow; we also ordered chai but had to cancel the order as we had been at the restaurant for over 50 minutes, and our tea still hadn't arrived. I understand it was busy, but tea shouldn't take that long. Personally, although the food was decent, I don't think it was worth the wait.

Did let us eat inside the shop even though we bought food from the stall outside and they are part of the shop. Apparently they have 2 different price to take away and eat in. Pointless and annoying. This was saddening as the food was quite nice. Update: this time round we was allowed to eat inside and the food hygenie rating is 5. Good service and affordable price.

One of the best authentic Asian food I have stumbled across in a very long time! The food was so fresh, piping hot and full of flavour. The service was absolutely fantastic, Suman is a lovely host always making sure myself and my friend were satisfied. Will 100% be coming back here!

The customer service at this restaurant was excellent – the staff were friendly and attentive. However, the food left much to be desired. The taste needs significant improvement to match the level of service. With better food quality, this place could be much more enjoyable.

Chandni Chowk has the taste of India, and staff are welcoming the moment you walk in. It is perhaps my favourite restaurant on the Broadway. The food is fresh and tastes homemade, with each meal offering a unique flavour. The staff are really friendly, especially Vishal. They make you feel invited, warm, and special. I love their vegetarian selection. There is a vegetarian chicken curry, which is delicious! I was surprised when I tried it. Perhaps my fave! I also love their paneer dishes, especially paneer Tikka, poppadoms, garlic naan, and laccha paratha. The price is decent. It's always nice to end the meal with a pot of masala tea - strong, intense flavour - all the right notes brewed from the pot. Oh, and they have delicious, colourful sweets that draw your attention almost immediately. They taste as good as they look! It's most definitely a perfect little spot to enjoy my meal without being disturbed. I like the family atmosphere and the service. It feels safe, and it's particularly evident that the staff value their customers beyond words. Thank you!

Had desi breakfast here with my mum. Lovely food! The halwa chana puri was delicious, and the omelette with paratha reminded us of home. The staff were very friendly too. Very reasonably priced. Ate the food so quick didn’t manage to take pics 🙈

Quick stop to Southall for quick dinner before dropping the son to Heathrow airport. It was Saturday evening and the high street was busy. The colours of the dessert that pulled us in. Friendly staff, curries were bursting with flavours and staff was happy to explain what were the desserts made of. 7 mins from multi story car park. Highly recommended and will come again.

Yelp
Popped in last week for the first time to pick up a mixture of sweets and savoury items. Found the service to be exceptional, I didn't know what some of the sweets were and the chap serving me explained in a friendly manner, getting me to try sample pieces to see if they suited my taste. I ended up spending more than I had intended to due to this but was happy to do so! I was also given a handy, reusable eco friendly bag (free of charge) to carry my purchases which will come in very handy!

Yelp
The funny thing about this place is when you walk in to ask a question or the prices etc they are in a rush that you order something and they get your money. A friend had a really bad experience when he ordered raita, the yoghurt was off and when he pointed this out they just weren't interested, attitude was not my problem why didn't you just throw it away. A lot of items are much more expensive than similar establishments in the neighborhood.

Yelp
This is not a hotel but a busy restaurant in Southall. We stopped by for a meal of lambchops, daal and an aubergine dish. Everything was tasty. It wasn't the best Indian I've had but it was decent enough. However, I suspect we may have ordered wrong as everyone was ordering the tandoori chicken!
