Singapore Foragers Find Ingredients for Restaurants and Home Cooking | Eater

"One of the few original stretches of coastline left unmodified by large-scale land reclamation, offering a glimpse of the island’s pre‑reclamation shores with razor clams, small crabs, kelp, pink sea cucumbers and pockets of edible brown mussels; visitors also encounter vulnerable species like the noble volute. Beachcombing yields both edible finds and disturbing amounts of marine debris—car tires and barnacle-encrusted plastics—underscoring environmental pressures on coastal foraging." - Jackson Kao

Went again on a weekend. It used be clean and nice. But now it’s not. Allot plastic bottles, etc. I am not sure why people do this..

Changi Beach Park, situated at Singapore's northeastern tip, is one of the nation's oldest coastal parks, extending approximately 3.3 kilometers from Changi Point to Changi Ferry Terminal. The park retains a nostalgic kampung (village) ambiance, characterized by its white sandy beaches, swaying coconut palms, and tranquil seaside atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy various recreational activities, including jogging, cycling, fishing, and plane spotting, as the park offers clear views of aircraft approaching Changi Airport. Amenities such as barbecue pits, playgrounds, and fitness stations make it a popular spot for family gatherings and picnics. The park also features the Changi Boardwalk, providing scenic coastal views and a serene walking experience. Historically, Changi Beach holds significance due to its role during World War II, where it was one of the sites of the Sook Ching massacre. A memorial plaque near the beachfront commemorates this somber past. Accessible via public transport, with buses connecting from nearby MRT stations like Pasir Ris and Tampines, Changi Beach Park offers a blend of leisure and history, making it a cherished destination for both locals and visitors seeking a peaceful retreat.

Changi Beach is a peaceful and scenic coastal park, perfect for a quiet escape from the city. One of Singapore’s oldest beach parks, it has a nostalgic charm and a laid-back atmosphere. The stretch toward Changi Village is especially serene and less crowded, even on weekends — great for sunrise views, beach walks, or simply enjoying the sea breeze and a quiet moment by the water. You won’t find the soft sands and clear waters of tropical resort beaches here — no one really swims — but it’s a lovely place to soak in the sunset, watch planes from nearby Changi Airport, or picnic with family. Facilities like BBQ pits and fitness stations add convenience, and being close to Changi Village means you’re just a short walk away from local eats like the famous nasi lemak. Beyond its natural beauty, Changi Beach also holds historical significance. During World War II, it was one of the sites of the Sook Ching massacre, where many Chinese civilians tragically lost their lives. A commemorative plaque near Camp Site 2 honors the victims and serves as a quiet, powerful reminder of the area’s complex past. I’d rate it a solid 4 out of 5 — simple, meaningful, and a peaceful slice of Singapore.

Rustic, serene and clean beach. Really relaxing and not to mention, it is near to the Changi Village hawker center and bus interchange. If you are up for it, you can also get onto a boat to Pulau Ubin for $4. My only advice is the sea is a common place for sea burial. So be careful what you pick on the shores.

You can visit Changi Beach during morning hours (before 7:30-8am) to enjoy a quiet walk, jog or even fresh air and morning sun👍 It’s not crowded hence you can have your privacy and camping is allowed near the beach area. You can try meditation, Yoga, Taichi or any form of exercise with peace 👌

One of my favourite places to relax and unwind. Great on cloudy and breezy weekday evenings.
