Where To Get Dessert Delivery And Takeout In NYC

"Unless you’re living with a French pastry chef (if this is the case, well done), you probably won’t be able to make anything that even closely resembles the desserts at Patisserie Chanson in Flatiron. Go to their website to place your order for things like eclairs, macarons, and salted caramel kouign amanns. They deliver all over Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens." - hannah albertine

NYC Dessert Delivery: Cake, Cookie, and Pastry Shops Open During Coronavirus - Eater NY

"Rory Macdonald’s desserts are known for their ambition in both looks and flavor. The accomplished pastry chef, whose resume boasts multiples tenures at three-star Michelin restaurants, launched his 23rd Street shop and dessert bar more than four years ago. Despite the current circumstances, the patisserie seems to be moving forward with its seasonal flavors of kouign amann, unusually flavored eclairs, tarts, and bombolini. They’re all now available for pickup and delivery online. Starting May 4, customers can pre-order three special flavors — grey chocolate mousse, carrot and coconut, and coconut and mango — for takeout and delivery." - Leah Rosenzweig, Eater Staff

Google
My party of four did the afternoon tea package. Some of the teas we requested were not available. The ones we were able to get had a cool picturesque quality. There were a few tasty options on the platter but we felt like the savory to sweet options ratio was too low and overall we felt like we paid $50 each for a pricey dessert. The atmosphere was pretty and staff were friendly and explained each food selection.

Google
Stopped in for a grab and go salmon croissant and a mint limeade and it was so good! Light and refreshing! I was able to grab a seat in the front and refuel and recharge a bit from exploring the city! I would definitely come back here and I’d love to try their afternoon tea experience! There was a super kind woman working who was so sweet when taking my order and bringing out my food too! Cute very chill place here!

Google
Visited this cafe recently, and I had a fantastic experience! The customer service was top-notch—so friendly and welcoming. The coffee was absolutely delightful, with a rich flavor that hit the spot. The barista was especially kindhs name is Matt, Highly recommend for anyone looking for a cozy spot to enjoy some great coffee and warm hospitality!

Google
stopped here while running errands in the Flatiron. big spacious modern space —very clean and brightly lit with some seating. there are counters of many different pastries. ordered a Kouign Amann to go and was a good choice—flaky layers of rich cake with a decent amount of sweetness. definitely pairs well with coffee. overall, the service was pleasant and quick. definitely would stop by here again if in the area…the prices bend to the higher side though.

Google
Patisserie Chanson located in Flat Iron District has a summer afternoon tea menu with bottomlessmimosas. Come get your fix of booze, savory bites, sweet desserts, hot tea, and scones! Graba table and their friendly staffs will start preparing your afternoon tea delights. Afternoon tea includes seven different savory bites, six different sweets, and hot brewed tea. Supplement with bottomless mimosa for that extra kick. Pop a bottle of Prosecco and mix it up with fresh seasonal juices for four different flavors to enjoy. Everythingtastes as good as it looks. Different flavors of each bite and each glass of mimosa is simply too good to be true. After Patisserie Chanson closes in the evening time, there’s also a speakeasy inside called Thyme Bar for a historical Prohibition experience. Come try one of NYC’s best afternoon teas around!

We shared that my surprise on Valentine’s Day was from Patisserie Chanson and we enjoyed it so much. Hence, we decided to give their brunch menu a try. We were still appealed by their pastries when we walked in even though we knew it wasn’t our favorite kind. However, the quality is stable with reasonable price. We used their app to get dine-in orders since there are food photos for reference and we were able to check their daily promotions. We shared Market Salad, Creme Brûlée French Toast, Hot Lobster Roll and Merguez Migas. It was overall decent with reasonable price & portion.

Google
This place is soooo yummy they offer a bunch of delicious goodies!! I had almost one of everything and the carrot cake is my absolute favorite! Soo much flavor and creamy. You can order ahead on the app and the lady at the counter was super sweet. The deals throughout the week are perfect too if you’re looking for the perfect grab and go lunch since they serve salads and sandwiches too.

Google
A French bakery with a Brunch Bistro built in. The croissant twist to brunch favorites is executed well. The flavors are interesting but the crunch of the croissant adds a fun mouth feel. Their desserts are good but eclairs were a little dry for our liking. Their Mimosas are presented deconstructed but that doesn't add any difference to the experience. The have a few outside tables as well. Overall a decent experience for midrange price.

Yelp
Never write a review. But Amazing experience. Will come back. Champagne, tea is just amazing. The flower in the tea is so beautiful:)

Yelp
Food (4/5): We got the afternoon tea set for $45. It came with blooming tea and a variety of small bite savory and sweet snacks. My favorites were the macarons and scallion scones. Overall solid selection and reasonably filling. Service (5/5): Super friendly and accomodating service. Our group was running late and they let us get seated as we waited for them. The food and tea came out fast and they helped us take a group photo. Ambiance (5/5): Nice, clean, upscale type cafe ambiance. Seating had plenty of space and was nice. Overall a relaxed upscale vibe.

Yelp
I visited this spot for afternoon tea with friends, and naturally, we upgraded to the bottomless mimosas! They provide a bottle of Prosecco for you to pour yourself, along with a selection of juices. We went through about four or five bottles, which made it feel like a great deal overall. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, which added to the experience. Unfortunately, the pastries didn't live up to my expectations. Most of them were dry, and the scones lacked the buttery richness I was hoping for. The only highlights for me were the macarons and the mini lettuce/salad bites. Overall, I was a bit disappointed and had expected better quality from the pastry selection.

Yelp
Amazing flower blossom tea! Probably the best chocolate croissant I've had in NYC. The store has delicious offerings and a lunch menu. It's nice and quiet inside with people enjoying their sweets and relaxing at a small table. There are many sanitation violations at this location so someone from management please get this store up to an A rating and I'll return.

Yelp
My friend really enjoys afternoon high tea experiences so I chose this place after seeing some Instagram videos about it. The Afternoon Tea Set includes a good amount of sweet and savory small bites. The food was pretty good but some of the bites weren't my favorite. You can also pay a bit extra to get the unlimited mimosas, which we felt was worth it. The set also includes blooming teas, which is a nice touch that helped warm us up. I do wish that the tables were a bit further apart. We were basically sitting in top of the patrons next to us and their boy troubles were being forced on us. This was a good experience and I would definitely visit again.

Yelp
Coffee was nice and hot, they made a great latte. The cashiers almost seemed annoyed taking out takeout order but not a big deal. The actual location is cute but I thought the bakery display could have been a bit nicer

Yelp
I was looking for a relative affordable afternoon tea to take my family to, and Chanson came up on a Destination Tea list. I picked this spot, mainly because we wanted variety of savory and sweet snacks, and these seemed to be the best bang for our buck ($45) For $45 we got 1 large blooming tea cup, and an assortment of small tarts (lemon, rhubarb, mushroom, egg), shrimp salad, Brie and radish toast, liver pâté and jam toast (don't sleep on this one, this actually hit), endive with egg salad, scones, macaroons and strawberry shortcake. The strawberry shortcake was probably my least favorite but everything else was so good and filling. Staff was extremely kind and checked in on us frequently. Our orders were taken pretty quickly. The atmosphere was very quiet and relaxing, especially for midday on a weekend. I'm glad I found this spot and hope to come back to try other pastries!

Yelp
There's a summer lunch promotion $16 for a sandwich, macaron, and a drink. There's a few options for sandwiches- we ended up trying the pork pate and the chicken sandwich. There's also a large selection of macaron flavors and different drink options. There's also an app but I would recommend just skipping the app - I realized only after that the app charged a $1 convenience fee. I agree with the other review that said to skip the brunch and for the desserts. The sandwich and the drink were both so disappointing. I ordered a mango matcha and it was just okay. The matcha was very bitter. I would say it's 2/5. My friend ordered the coconut latte and it was disgusting. The sandwiches flavor wise were good but the bread was so, so stale. It was difficult to chew the bread because it was that stale. It made the sandwich really inedible. The macaron was the highlight. It was delicious. The guava banana was really good. I didn't quite taste the flavor but the softness of the macaron was great. I would really say skip the food and drinks and just get the desserts. Staff was kind and ambiance is okay. There's outdoor seating and indoor seating. But we ordered for takeout. Overall: skip the food and drinks and go for the desserts
google avatar

Yelp
Definitely come here for the desserts and baked goods. The actual brunch/lunch food could be skipped. The egg sandwich was fine and I liked the bun, but it was bland. The Hashbrown fries are cute and the sticks make them easy to eat but they were very heavy and greasy and I didn't care for the aioli that paired these with. The drink I had was quite good but wasn't ad sweet as I was expecting. The desserts are where they shine best. I recommend eyeballing the case and asking for suggestions. I tried two different selections recommended by the counter server and enjoyed both. 3/5

Yelp
The food was so delicious and we left so full, plus the unlimited mimosas were really unlimited. They left the bottle of champagne there. The server was friendly and the food and drinks arrived fast. It's a cute cafe. What we got: Four Seasons Mimosa Latte Violette Crème Brûlée French Toast Red Velvet Cake Macarons Lobster Pot Pie Roasted Garlic Hashbrowns

Yelp
If you're looking for a new place to grab a quick but quality meal, then this the place to check out. They specialize in making delicious French inspired food that's deemed as Michelin standard. My friend and I visited their Flat Iron location, which is nice and spacious and has a super friendly staff. We started off with a round of their bottomless 4 season mimosas which comes with 4 different season juices and a bottle of Prosecco. And as for food we enjoyed trying their eggs, Benedict, crispy, garlic, potatoes, lobster, roll, and their crème brûlée French toast. All their dishes were quite innovative and super delicious, which is why I'll definitely be going back.

Yelp
Long overdue review for Chanson. I come here so often, the secrets out. This is one of my favorite bakeries in the city. I love the seasonal black sesame ice cream, this is only available during the summer. If you like your black sesame rich in flavor. Say no more, this is the place to go! The pastries, will depend on your preference. I love their croissants, they're flakey, and fragrant. My husband and I love the following croissant - Almond, delicious and full of flavor. I think one of the best almonds we've had. - Raspberry, evenly spread of jam inside and coating on the outside. - Savory Croissant, each bite is decadent The sandwiches are delicious too, I was shocked with how flavorful their bread and meats were. Normally I dont expect much but I was pleasantly surprised. Staff is always friendly and welcoming.

Yelp
The staff was so kind and attentive, the food and drinks were amazing. Came for a girl date with my mother and sister in law and had the best time!

Yelp
Stopped by after 3pm to take advantage of the 50% off desserts and sandwiches promotion that I saw on Instagram (think it said it's on certain weekdays only). I picked up a red velvet cake slice and dulce de leche eclair. Both were packaged in a nice little box and bag for transport.

Yelp
I'm so sad and disappointed. Chanson used to have the best kough aman in the city. Granted the price had increased to $7.50-8.00, but was worth it. Hadn't been there in ages, went in today so excited, surprised the price had decreased to $4.50. I left went to eat my kough aman at the park. It was dry and looked completely different. I returned to the shop and they said a new chef changed things 8 months ago. They wouldn't give me a refund (I noticed register was marked all sales final) but they could have made an exception. As I looked more directly at pastry case, I recognized everything croissant and chili palmier that is at all the other coffee shops. So this high end French patisserie know for authentic in house pastries is outsourcing the same dry boring pastries everything coffee shop has! I'm so so so sad and disappointed. DO NOT go here for pastries!!!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Patisserie Chanson has some really great pastries. It's clear they know what they're doing, as every single viennoiserie looks immaculate (except for the messy croisssant, but it's messy in the most refined way). My only issue is that the service leaves much to be desired. I've probably visited a handful of times and it remains a handful because every single interaction I've had here felt dismissive and aloof. The staff aren't outright rude but they will not engage in pleasantries and such, so I usually prefer to do a grab and go. Some of my favorites include their seasonal kouign amans ($7.90) and their lemon and yuzu éclairs ($8). The bakers are very skilled and the laminations always come out precise and beautiful. They have something called a messy croissant ($8.50) that I have not been able to find anywhere else. It's messy in the way a beignet is messy except this croissant is extra chocolatey inside and generously dusted with cocoa powder on top. I would advise extreme caution when eating this-- do NOT wear white.

Yelp
CROISSANT REVIEW Came in for a plain croissant to go. My favorite place for croissant was some ways away and I did not have the time to get there, so I took a chance. The place has a feel of a chain/ manicured setting type of patisserie. Came in around 9:15am. It was empty without patrons, but a couple filed in. The staff was super sweet and inviting. I ordered asked for my croissant to be warmed up. Not sure they do this for everyone, but I certainly appreciated it. The croissant had the perfect flaky exterior with butter rich pillowy soft interior. Just the way I like it. Needless to say, I was satisfied. They have bread, cookies, other pastries, and food. There is also a section where you can order a variety of caffeinated beverages. They have to-go seating and a dine-in seating area. Glad I tried this place out.

Yelp
wonderful experience. Medina was amazing. great food, tea, and music. worth the trip, I will definitely be returning

Yelp
Ordered a small size of the Lemon Yuzu Meringue Cake for a girlfriend's birthday a few days ahead of time for pickup. The cake box and cake itself are really cute. On the website, it says the small size is great for 2 people, but it can honestly serve 3-4 people. Was pleasantly surprised at the size!! The cake itself is quite dense, but had a nice light lemon/citrusy flavor. I think it could've been an even stronger lemon/yuzu flavor but overall was a solid cake. Pickup was super quick and easy - was in and out of the shop in under 5 minutes. I got a glance at their pastry selections and all of them looked amazing. Def want to come back soon to try them!
google avatar

Yelp
Yea so never again. literally wasted $40 on 2 pastries, a plain croissant and 2 iced teas. Nice people, but croissant was like a freaking sponge... not one crispness to it at all. i spat it out. if i wanted a spongey croissant, i will go get them from costco at a fraction of the cost. tiramisu? f-big sugar bomb. wanted throw up. blood orange earl grey moose was not bad. no coffee. no cold brew. only espresso. i work across the street and i will avoid this place like a plague. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!
google avatar

Caleb M.

Yelp
The croissant and kouign amann are very good versions of their respective pastries, but not necessarily better than other versions I've had elsewhere. They also had pistachio cake when I went, which was moist and delicious, but perhaps a little heavy-handed on the nut extracts. Very good pastries if you're in the area, but perhaps not worth a separate trip out of your way.
google avatar

Ron K.

Yelp
In short, Good bakery. Few seats. I tried it and moved on. With a few more details, Great location and nice entry way. Staff seemed to have low moral although they were pretty friendly. They didn't have much knowledge on what the main favorites are. Lemon yuzu eclair tasted good. Creme inside was yummy and marshmallow on top was soft. The pastry was a bit dry or maybe it was baked a while ago though. The display case was a bit foggy and seemed to be made out of plastic or plexi. The look of baked goods to the eye comes before the mouth and flavor and that look was a bit unappealing. Hope it gets replaced by a proper glass panel to make those goodies shine. Anyway overall it was ok but not as good as I expected it.
google avatar

Eri L.

Yelp
Always on the hunt for a great kouign amann, I stopped by Chanson to check out their version of it. I was sadly disappointed that I could not appreciate the kouign Amman's classic lamination at all - it was dry and the top wasn't crispy. The salted caramel topping did add some moisture to the dessert, but would probably not order again. Also tried their everything croissant which came with some jalapeño cheese spread, which was much more flaky than the kouign amann.
google avatar

Clifford Y.

Yelp
Sloppy Seconds Sadly we had great expectations for this bakery As a chef and in the food business as well @m_en_u_nyc insta We know things happen. But this is clear mismanagement of their DoorDash 4 items ordered only 1 correct Kouign Amann replaced with Raspberry Croissant Seriously ???? Sourdough bread replacement with Baguette?? In other words. End of the day throw the customer whatever is left. Sloppy seconds do not cut it
google avatar

Yelp
Patisserie Chanson has the most adorable French inspired pastries in Flatiron. K and I went to get some breakfast last weekend. There are Covid precautions. Patrons are spaced 6 feet apart. All the staff were wearing masks. Everything was so clean. We had the butter croissants, and Royal Milk tea kouign amann (KA). For drinks: matcha latte and macchiato. The pastries were amazing! The butter croissant was perfectly flakey and crunchy. It held its shape when we piled on lox from Acme. It tasted like the croissants that we've had in Paris. The KA was perfect: buttery laminated layers of crunch. The Royal milk tea cream was congregated on the bottom. I loved the beautiful candy on top with gold flecks. It was very picturesque. The drinks were very good.
google avatar

Yelp
Best desserts and all items we tried are not over sweet! Also perfect place for brunch.Really hope they can open other stores in California
google avatar

Jen L.

Yelp
We tried the earl gray and blood orange cake from here! The cake was pretty decent/ the earl gray mousse was very smooth with a layer of deep, rich chocolate and there was a tiny blood orange macaron at the top! I loved the dark chocolate ganache- I was scraping it off by the knife full. There was also a orange dacquoise at the bottom, but I wasn't a huge fan- although that might be just me as I tend not to love chocolate with citrus. I love the aesthetic of the orange macaron on the top but it tasted a little stale and was a very mediocre macaron. I think the first few bites of the dessert is delicious, but it falls off because of how rich it is

Aditya V.

Yelp
Used to be reasonably good. This time my pain au chocolate was soft, not all flaky, had very little chocolate -- was just TERRIBLE. I threw it away.
google avatar

Eloy Y.

Yelp
Opened in 2016, this establishment is located in the Flatiron district of Gotham at 23rd Street. Chanson, the French word for song, is a reference to the orchestral process of dessert making and a handy spot to grab breakfast with authentic French pastries which my partner's family and I did last Tuesday. The bakery is in the front and a dine-in restaurant at the rear. Upon arrival, vaccine card and ID were checked by one of the staff for indoor dining. Our server was Martin. We ordered the Scrambled Egg Bacon croissant and Natural Yoghurt Parfait. The croissant sandwich was love at first bite with its flaky buttery taste. That's the French way and it's delicious. We wouldn't trade anything for it. The bacon was tasty but opted out on the watercress. It came with a side of fingerling potatoes which needed seasoning. All in all, good food and good place but overpriced.
google avatar

Clarel R.

Yelp
Disappointed... Never said anything about switching new suppliers.... One of the best croissant place in NY...
google avatar

Wendy Y.

Yelp
I must preface this review by saying that I was brought here by the Great British Baking show, which gave me a hankering for fine pastries. At first glance, this shop has all the makings of an upscale French Patisserie. They now have indoor and outdoor seating and offer a full brunch menu in addition to tarts, croissants, eclairs, and their famous Kouign-Amann (pronounced Queen Aman). None of the prices are listed by the display cases so I didn't expect my final bill to be so high. I ordered their limited edition Strawberry Rose Kouign-Amann, a flat white, and a raspberry croissant. The small flat white cost $7!!! That is a shocking price for coffee beverage in an 8oz cup that was only 2/3 full.. I only bought it so I could get the Yelp offer of a croissant for $1, with coffee purchase. The server informed me that normally the offer only includes plain croissants but he made an exception for my raspberry one just this once. I've never had a Kouign-Amann before, but I instantly fell in love with the version here. It is essentially a flaky puff pastry with a crusted sugar shell, and as many layers as a crepe cake. The layers are buttery and the sweetness of the shell carries through each bite. The whole thing was delightful and the strawberry jam a minute bit of tartness to break up the sweetness. It is the perfect pairing to a hot cup of coffee or tea. While I do find the pastries here impeccable, the prices are very steep. Most of the pastries are $7 and up. However, one might feel that these prices are justified given the amount of skill needed to make them. If you're looking for amazing French pastries, this is the place to go.
google avatar

Yelp
"That sandwich is f***in insane" - quote from a French man. The Ham and cheese baguette is sophisticated and superior. We were looking for a french bakery and Patisserie. This is a much more sophisticated version of Paris baguette, or Le Pain Quotidien. The ham and cheese baguette was toasted with melted white cheddar and the Pomarine mustard. Wine dressing was absolutely delightful. Also, the baguette, it taste like a true French baguette. Next we have the blood orange, an earl grey chocolate mousse with hazelnut daquoise that was absolutely divine. It's a bit further away from the main hub hub but it is worth the walk. If you're looking for a French bakery that has a true Parisian flair and not a chain, this is a great place to come for the food. The overall setting is a bit basic, but the food makes up for everything. And the prices are quite reasonable. Best macaroon, best pastry and sandwich. Grotesquely delicious!

Zehra M.

Yelp
Absolutely blown away by the remarkable precision and thoughtfulness that is shone through crafting each pastry here. I have tried many patisseries and bakeries in NYC - this one is it. Order a salted caramel Kouign-amann and a dark chocolate croissant. I didn't know what to expect as some pastries look the part, but don't deliver in taste. These exceeded my expectations. The texture, the freshness, toasted to perfection with the right amount of sweetness and flavor without feeling too overwhelmingly heavy. The valrhona chocolate croissant, may not look spectacular but it is a work of art. I will definitely order these again and I'm eager to come here for an unlimited mimosa brunch.
google avatar

Lingxiao C.

Yelp
I always go for the kouign amann, but this time I tried the Messy Croissant (Zang Zang Bao), a chocolate cream-filled croissant, coated in chocolate ganache, and generously covered in cocoa powder. It was DIVINE. The croissant was incredibly soft and buttery; every bite was like a peek into chocolate heaven. Yet surprisingly, it wasn't sickening sweet but a great balance between sweet and bitter!
google avatar

Madeleine B.

Yelp
I keep in mind I didn't have ~real~ food here, only pastries. I got the chocolate croissant, pain aux raisin, and salted caramel kouign amann for the weekend. Kouign amann: definitely the favorite of the three. Incredible. Basically a flavored croissant/donut hybrid. Chocolate croissant: wonderful, although I do wish there was more chocolate in it. Pain aux raisin: not really my thing, but still good. Messy croissant: insanely chocolatey croissant. Wonderful. Pumpkin spice kouign amann: super yummy. Not as big a fan of the pumpkin spice cream as I anticipated though. Coming back for brunch sometime. 4.5 stars.
google avatar

Yelp
Came across this spot , happen to see they have UNLIMITED PROSECCO BRUNCH on the weekends for $55. Which consist of a Brunch Item , Dessert and unlimited Prosecco. We were greeted and seated right away. Our host/waiter Steve was amazing, ran us through the menu and gave amazing recommendations. Food was delicious , the presentation on top of it was A1. Quality and presentation definitely matched. I would definitely be back !! Ambiance- 10/10 Service - 10/10 WiFi - Not Sure Parking - Easy it was Sunday Covid Precautions- Yes
google avatar

Yelp
Coffee was ok but then I'm Australian and our standards are vastly different. The pastries were also very good, the Kouign Amman was flaky and delicious but not the right shape in a scroll not a crown.

Yelp
NYC has tons of bakeries and cafes offering pastries. Look no further than Patisserie Chanson for a mouthwatering, yet delicately made pastry. I mean. Just. Look. At. That. Glisten. Nothing else needs to be said!

Yelp
Catching up on reviews during Pre-Covid times... Dessert: 5/5 Ambiance: 4.5/5 Service: 4.5/5 Overall: Cute place with awesome taste! It's a must go for me! All of the pastries are light and don't make you feel like you've had a sugar overload. The extended review... Dessert: Yuzu Lemon Tart - 5/5 It was very tasty choice. The consistency was very light as opposed to dense and made for a very good pastry. Earl Grey & Blood Orange mousse - 5/5 - OMG. So this is my favorite selection at Chanson. Similar to the yuzu lemon the consistency was very light. Raspberry Eclair - 4/5 - Not bad, good flavor. Again...the motif here is light. Ambiance: It's such a cute little place. The seating is limited but when you can sit down it's nice. Service: Super friendly staff.

Yelp
My first time visiting Chanson, I got to try their beautiful blooming teas and a bunch of their pastries, so I was determined to come back as soon as possible. Anyway, a year and a half later I finally made it. ^^; We had brunch here and because we are still being very cautious, asked to dine outdoors on what was a really gorgeous day. The manager told us that we could sit outside but wouldn't be able to get service, so we started looking at a menu to order it "to go" to enjoy outside when one of the servers told us we could have a seat and he'd take care of us! Honestly he was so nice, because it seemed like it was maybe only him working at the time, covering a handful of tables inside and then us all the way outside. We did have to wait a little bit for him to make it to us but it was worth it with the great weather and the great food and the great service that we fully were not anticipating getting while dining outdoors. (The manager stepped out for a lunch break at one point and asked if we had our orders taken yet? We told him yes and when he came back he seemed worried we hadn't eaten yet? We told him we were just waiting on the check but I guess he was underestimating his server, who was doing great tbh.) They were out of the bread basket (probably for the best, for our waistlines) so I got an egg white omelette for the ample veggies and fruit and he got the egg & bacon croissant. Everything was great and I know we'll be back within the next 18 months ;)

Yelp
Sometimes you eat something, and you just lose any and all words. Sometimes you'll even forget your name. This was my reaction after eating the kouign amann at Patisserie Chanson. Fortunately, My body knew what it was doing and immediately went back for a second bit of that delicious, buttery, flaky, and completely irresistable kouign amann. It was just so perfectly... perfect? I had both the salted caramel and the chocolate, and they were both wonderful. The salted caramel was better of the two since the small amount of small balanced the buttery richness of the kouign amann, but why chose between the two when you can have both? Another standout was the dirty croissant. It may not look like much, but it is a masterpiece as well. It was decadently chocolaty and rich, and I certainly regretted it when I had my last bite. The pistachio and rose eclair and the earl grey chocolate mousse cake were great as well, and the blooming tea was a nice touch. However, they're very much overshadowed by the kouign amann and the dirty croissant. Must try for some great patisseries!

Yelp
This was a delightful surprise! My counterpart and I found this place after a quick Yelp search of brunch and pastries (because I like both sweet and savory when I first wake up). This was a much bigger space than we were expecting! You can order a baked good, pastry, or small baguette sandwich and a variety of coffees to sit with at one of their few small tables in the front of the room for a quick, casual meal, or you can be seated in the back of the room for a more extensive brunch/breakfast menu. We had the seasonal kouign amann (which is kind of like a combination of a croissant and palmier; think: crunchier outside, flaky and melt in your mouth inside) -- a dark chocolate filled and almond option. And it was absolutely one of the best pastries I've eaten in a long while. Sorry, Michael P, but we shouldn't have split one. We each needed our own! I ordered the avocado toast with poached eggs, and he ordered a sandwich with homefries. Unfortunately, they botched up his order and had to refire it, but gave him a complimentary bowl of fruit to apologize. My avocado toast was the most expensive I've ever had but it was entirely worth it: I swear each slice of quinoa and golden raisin bread slice was topped with an entire avocado before being drizzled with a chili and orange oil. The poached eggs really elevated it even more. Decadent, filling, and the perfect preflight food because I didn't feel heavy after eating it. The weakest part of the experience was the service. They had this awkward "don't speak unless spoken to" vibe going on, so we weren't really greeted or engaged with; we just sort of spoke at our server which was weird. But it wasn't weird enough to take away from the experience. We're already planning on coming back for kouign amanns and coffees!

Yelp
Their pastry chef went back to France and the quality, especially the Kouign Amann, has plummeted.

Yelp
Came here with a big group and wwe were seated at the biggest table in their dining space! Loved their blooming tea, very asthetically pleasing! I have to say it's not really about the tea flavor here, just the nice flowers that bloom in it. I went for the heart's desire blooming tea, the carrot and coconut cake with pistachio granola, and their skillet omelette. My blooming tea was the first to come out and it was piping hot in a wine glass! It was a cool look but the steam and condensation was building up around the glass a bit. The skillet was petite but filling and also came with some breadd as well. The cake was a cute little thing with a great crust. Whatever was in there had a great bit of crunch that I loved! After that everyone tried their famous Kouigman. Our was a chocolate almond one which was buttery, flaky, and tasted pretty good! Since that first visit I also went back and tried their green applepie macaron and a chocolate croissant. The croissant was sadly a let down because it wasn't that flaky or buttery, seemed a bit stale for a croissant in my opinion. The apple macaron was ok, good filling but the macaron halves themselves didn't have a nice texture, a bit chalky. So I think I'll stay away from these in the future but good to try other things as always. I'd go back for another blooming tea, another petite dessert, and to try their messy croissant!

Yelp
Came here with a pretty big group of friends for brunch on a Saturday. It was a little unorganized, but we made it work for all of us. We did the $19 brunch deal where we got an entree and a dessert. I got the Black Truffle Grilled Cheese and the Mango & Coconut Mousse. The Black Truffle Grilled Cheese came with the Soup of the Day which someone recommended that I used the grilled cheese and dip it in the soup. Not a bad suggestion. The bread on the edges were a little too hard, but overall was pretty decent with the truffle taste. The dessert was very small, but very tasty so I'd highly recommend taking super small bites to really savor it. Besides the food, we got a few various drinks. The Blooming Tea is definitely something worth Instagramming. Highly recommend doing a time lapse for that! I got the Hibiscus Royale which was a champagne drink. It's got that hibiscus flavor with the champagne bubbles which I like. Overall, a very good experience. The desserts is probably what I'd come back for as they all look amazing and they absolutely taste great as well!

Yelp
Came here couple times already. Usually come here to get coffee and their croissant. And today, needs to find a place for quick lunch and more quiet place. So I recommend her to come here. They have lots of option for lunch. And their weekday brunch set come with coffee/ tea and petite size dessert or macron. (11:30am-4:30pm) - New Yorker egg Benedict: jalapeño hash brown on the bottom, seasoning very well and crispy out side. On the top with smoke salmon and poached egg with hollandaise sauce. So good! And portion is pretty big as well! -Black truffle grilled cheese: I like they put pickled shallot. It balanced the strong flavor of cheese. And it also come with a soup. So you won't get sick of eating too much cheese. We also got the chocolate croissant- chocolate powder outside. Soft layer , not too sweet. But be awarded your hand and mouth will get dirty. Love their lunch set, such a good deal that include little of everything. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Stopped in for brunch on a Saturday with a big group and overall had a great experience! I was first introduced to this spot because of their desserts and pastries. I didn't realize they also served food, so when the suggestion to go here for brunch was made I was pleasantly surprised upon entering that it's the same place I pick up one of my favorite pastries - an amazing Kouign Amann pastry that they make as an original or with different seasonal flavors. These are mouthwatering and a must try! They usually sell out of them later in the day. We all got the $19 brunch deal that comes with a dish and dessert. I got the Skillet Egg White Omelet and Pistachio & Raspberry Eclair. The omelet was tasty and light - just the healthy meal I was craving. The eclair was oozing pistachio filling, so if you're a pistachio lover I recommend ordering this. I also ordered the Hibiscus Royale drink, which was a hibiscus flavored champagne with a pretty hibiscus flower. Delicious! They also have 'Blooming Teas' - fun to watch and record as it blooms in the hot water. This is a nice spot for brunch or to grab a quick bite of sweets!
