Google
Tried Chapel Street Café on a whim and was seriously impressed. The Hawaiian Parma with cornflake crumb chicken, pineapple, mozzarella, and Korean hot sauce hit all the right notes. Crispy, sweet, spicy, and super satisfying. I had both the Chapel-tini and the Girl Dinner cocktails from the happy hour menu. Both were creative, strong, and really well-balanced. Laid-back vibe, great service, and a menu that doesn’t miss. I’ll definitely be back.

We had a great breakfast! The staff were amazing and super friendly. I was super excited to visit an Australian cafe after studying abroad there in college. I built my own breakfast with eggs, vegemite toast, and breakfast potatoes. I got the earl grey tea too. My husband got the full Australian breakfast, a mocha, and we split a chocolate croissant. The food was delicious. I wish I had this restaurant in my neighborhood. The other pastries looked amazing and I wish I had room to try more! If I’m ever in Chicago again I’ll be back!

Google
Australian-themed restaurant with many food and drink options. Modest happy hour every day 4-6pm, including a few drinks and bites. To get that extra star, I would want more options for happy hour. We got a few things and were not impressed, but enjoyed the space. Also, not sure what came with the oysters, but why no hot sauce and lemon by default?

Chapel Street Café successfully transports a slice of Melbourne to Chicago—through its sunny, plant-filled space, robust coffee, and generous Australian-inspired menu. Whether you’re after a leisurely brunch, a casual coffee catch-up, or an evening with wine and a burger, this standout Streeterville spot delivers authentic Aussie flair with local warmth.

Chapel Street Café – A Perfect Spot for a Classic Aussie Breakfast 🦘🇦🇺 Had such a great time here. The place is super clean, modern, and cozy—lots of natural light and a really calming vibe. The music was on point too, which made it even nicer to just hang out. I got the Australian Full Breakfast with a long black, and it was perfect. Great portions, great flavors. If you’re looking for a solid breakfast in a chill spot, definitely check this place out. I’ll for sure be back.

Wow what an incredible experience! My partner and I are in town from Melbourne and were desperate for a good coffee. We checked out chapel street and was not disappointed! The coffee was just like in Australia and the brekky burrito we had was the best we’ve ever had, highly recommend. The staff were so lovely and when we said we were from Melbourne the owner didn’t hesitate to come out and say hello to us. He was so friendly and we loved chatting with a fellow Aussie. Highly recommend coming in and we can’t wait to check out Trivia night soon too!! ☺️

Google
This was our first meal at Chapel Street Café, and it was great. The service was attentive, the food was really good, and we were surprised by the excellent value for money. The dinner menu is small but excellent, so we’ll be back to try to breakfast/brunch menu soon, as it seems more extensive.

Google
Had the roast beef sandwich and it was just ok. It was missing a wow factor. I'm not sure what, but for a meal that is $15+ with fries and a drink, it needs to have it. Staff was a bit busy and wasn't very attentive. Had to get her attention to get refills. Wasn't even offered the desert menu. Overall a bit underwhelming for a Chicago restaurant.b... I'm glad everyone can see that this restaurant is not worth it. You would think that they would like improve. Just sad! Take their advise and don't visit!

Yelp
Very convenient cafe connected to the lobby of the Marriott. They'll let you charge to the room, which worked great with our daily hotel credit. My wife had a coffee and we grabbed a bag of their donuts. The donuts were so delicious and hot! The coffee took a little bit but they had a steady line of customers every time. The menu looked good but we always just grabbed something from the counter and left. It's Australian food so stuff is a little unique but not too crazy.

Yelp
I would say it's a solid 3.5/5. The pastries and coffee are just okay. It's located in the Hilton, so most of the tables are taken by those staying in the hotel. We tried the: - Sausage Roll 8/10 - Dragonfruit Croissant 7/10 - Cinnamon Morning Bun 7.5/10 - Mocha Latte 7.5/10 - Flat White 7/10 There was nothing wrong with anything we had, but there was nothing mind blowing. The sausage roll was pretty good, but also a little pricy for what you get ($11.00). The staff was friendly and always going around checking on tables. The coffee did take a while, so if you're on the run just be aware of that.

Yelp
Unsurprisingly, there aren't a lot of Australian restaurants in Chicagoland, so I was excited to try this Australian-style café recently. At Chapel Street, we had the Melbourne Hot Jam Donuts ($9 for 4) and a Caramel Latte ($5.50), Beans on Toast (traditional Aussie baked beans served with sourdough toast and two eggs your way), and Full Milk Pancakes (fluffy pancakes topped w/ poached pears, vanilla mascarpone, and drizzled w/ real maple syrup). I try to look at online menus in advance to get an idea of the cost of a restaurant before deciding to go there. Upon reviewing my receipt at home, I realized there are a couple of price discrepancies compared to their online menu information. I was charged $18 for the Beans on Toast. On their website and on the PDF menu, it lists the price at $16. I was charged $16 for the Full Milk Pancakes. The PDF menu lists these at $13.50, and the website lists them at $15. I do think the prices we paid match what is on the actual restaurant menu in person, but I wouldn't expect there to be so many pricing differences depending on what source you're looking at - especially for a place that hasn't been open very long. We were waiting in the front for an awkward couple of minutes before we got seated. We weren't given menus right away, so we were pulling this information up on our phones. We were greeted by one server and then ultimately ended up with a different person. He did explain that they were a bit busy and still kind of getting their feet under them. Service started off a bit slow, but we weren't waiting terribly long for our food. I ordered a mocha at first, but they were out of cocoa powder. My latte was fine, but they do charge an extra $1 to add flavor. I wasn't asked how I wanted my eggs with my meal, and honestly, they looked a bit unappetizing.

Yelp
Great Aussie style location. Amazing food drinks and great location. Staff are excellent. Highly recommend the coffee as well.

Yelp
Enjoyed the breakfast baked beans and eggs; wonderful pastries too. Service was attentive and friendly.

Yelp
All I can say is yuck! As a frequent traveler to Australia this does not taste authentic. I had very high expectations for this place but I must say it is a no for me. Service was OK could be better. Everyone seems to be confused at that place.

Yelp
This was a delicious burger and "chips". One of the better burgers I've had in awhile and it was huge that's why there is some remaining. Pilsner have eaten more if I wanted to be stuffed. Staff was very friendly and was good as I got off the plane.

Yelp
I went there on day two . Despite a few hiccups, which are to be expected being brand new, the food and service were excellent. James' welcoming greeting as host and John's excellent service are a mirror of the excellent example of A-1 hospitality attitude. I had breakfast and ordered the zucchini fritters with egg and salmon. What a delicious combination. They will accommodate substitution requests. I asked for scrambled instead of poached. I enjoyed the coffee and also bought 2 pastries to take home. The pastry was tastry but smaller and overpriced compared to other on-site items made in the neighborhood. I encourage all my 60611 neighbors to give them a try. You will also get a neighbor discount. I am looking forward to going to lunch and dinner.

Yelp
The staff is attentive, the food is amazing and they are doing a Grand Opening 03-January and will be adding a lunch and dinner menu. Please stoop in for a espresso or a crafted coffee and say hello.

Yelp
Came here 3 days in a row for brekky while staying next door at the Westin. The BYOB option to build your breakfast was my favorite because it allowed you the option to try different things - the short stack milk pancakes are UNREAL, as were the scrambled eggs (prepared with chopsticks) and Aussie bacon. The service was impeccable and so, so friendly. Such a great spot.

Yelp
Both the service and the food at Chapel Street were poor and did not live up to expectations. Service: We were not helped until 15 minutes after being sat while the tables around us received service. We ordered off the restaurant week menu which did not provide any additional options aside from what was already on their menu which was dissappointing. After ordering, my parter received his appetizer my appetizer took an additional 10 minutes to show up. A manager(I think, he did not identify himself?) apologized for the delay citing a kitchen mixup. Entrees came on time and together which was good, however we each ordered a side as our "third course" from the restaurant menu but these did not come out until after the entree. We asked the waitress when we received the entree about the sides and she informed us it would come following the entree. We received our sides of broccolini and carrots after our entrees had been eaten and taken away from the table. This was extremely odd and out of order, I would have expected the side dishes for my dinner to come out with my entree, not after I am already full? We received a free pastry item due to our service issues which was good, however for the amount of issues that we encountered, it felt like the bare minimum. We were reminded by staff during multiple of our issues that the restaurant had recently opened and they were still working out issues, but for as many problems as we had, this was not acceptable. Food: The food at Chapel Street overall was Okay. We ordered the point piper and the whittlesea for our first courses. The point piper was very oily and tasted quite fishy. The whittlesea was very bland, most of the flavor came from the olive oil and was unpleasant. The Queens Arm and the Lord Dudley were our entrees and they were both average. It was easy to tell that the quality of ingredients was subpar and most of the ingredients are frozen, not fresh. Considering that these dishes are typically priced $20-30, I would have expected a bit higher quality than frozen meatballs, canned sauce, and grilled bread(the Lord Dudley). Sides were actually pretty decent and it would have been great to receive those with our entrees, however they showed up afterwards, in a weird, separate "third course"

Yelp
Delicious food, coffee, fab staff and ambiance, great addition to the neighborhood! I can't wait for the full hours and lunch and dinner service!

Yelp
I love that this Aussie cafe is in my city of Chicago. I'm from Melbourne (25 yrs ago) so I was excited to check it out. The flat white was awesome. Food was great. Will see you next week for the Anzaac event.

Yelp
Delicious coffee + cinnamon bun and great service! Nice atmosphere, we will definitely come back!
