New favorite neighborhood bar. The atmosphere is amazing, love that they only play vinyl records, and the drinks - great. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable about what they’re serving you. All in all a great experience, the staff really makes the place shine.

Charis has truly created something special. The drinks are fantastic, and the staff are incredibly kind. From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home. We tried five different cocktails, each one delicious—and most can be made non-alcoholic. We ordered food from a nearby restaurant and enjoyed it at the bar with our drinks. We can’t wait to come back and share this experience with others!

Charis Listening Room is truly something special. From the moment I walked in, I was blown away by how beautiful and intentional everything was — the space is warm, inviting, and full of charm. Every detail, from the lighting to the glassware, feels thoughtful and curated with love. And then there’s Maria Torres — the absolute heart of the bar. She was my bartender, and I can’t say enough good things. She’s not only incredibly knowledgeable and professional, but also funny, welcoming, and just so easy to connect with. She made amazing recommendations (seriously, some of the best cocktails I’ve ever had!) and made the experience feel personal and memorable. I’ll be coming here all the time now, and I’ve already told my family and godchildren about this beautiful new spot in the neighborhood. If you haven’t checked out Charis yet — especially if Maria’s behind the bar — you’re missing out.

The vibes are immaculate. It feels like a secret bar in River North that's #IYKYK. But it's Bridgeport and they serve a wide variety of cocktails, non-alcoholic drinks, and wine. Plus, the jams. It's on the smaller side, so think either date night or group of four.

We are so excited for this to be in the neighborhood. We haven’t tried the cocktails yet but we were walking home from cermak and wanted a bottle of wine so we popped in. Got an amazing natural lebanese wine! It’s a game changer for us since we don’t have any other decent wine shops in Bridgeport!

Fantastic space and all around great vibe. Really enjoy the N/A drink presence also. The only thing is I think the drinks are quite daring and interesting, but sometimes don’t really deliver and feel unbalanced, as if they’re trying too hard. This pains me to say because I really love this place, but I think it’s an objective point to take it to the next level. If they elevate their drinks I think it is a top contender for best bar in Chicago. Snacks also would be cool but that’s less necessity.

Great spot with a real neighborhood vibe. Bartenders are extremely friendly and willing to help you figure out what you'd like to drink based on your palate. Music selection was also great and inspired my newest record purchase the very next day. Highly recommend.

Everyone Bridgeporter and bartender in the city already treasures this spot. It’s ungatekeepable. So my advice is directed at people visiting Bridgeport. Make it a part of your experience. Going to ramova for a show? Come here first. Dinner at duck inn. Marias. Electric. Stingo at Bernice’s. Hot pot. Sox game. Etc. Whatever it is, come here come here first for cocktails/punch/beer-shot-specials and a special difficult-to-describe musical experience. Great place for dates, business partners, old and new friends. Very welcoming service team. Don’t miss it. XO

Drinks were incredible. Bar staff and owner were very cool and hospitable even though it was packed. Impressed with how they handled the huge volume/demand and still managed to remain warm and make quality drinks. Great music too

Very cool new little cocktail lounge that just opened up in Bridgeport, literally just down the block from me. You can get cocktails at various places in Bridgeport, but this is the first dedicated lounge venue I've seen open in the neighborhood. It's a nice alternative to the bars and breweries. They have a wide selection of classic and custom cocktails to choose from. I've gotten the Train to Toronto, Willy Warnock, Palortma, and the House Punch over my 2 visits there, all very good, even the Palortma which features, as you can guess, malort. They also have a few beers if thats more your jam. The staff and bartenders are all nice and cool. I will say, there's not a whole lot of space, so best to get there early evening, that's only when I've gotten in. I've seen lines out the door on weekend nights. But still definitely worth checking out, I know I'll definitely be coming back much more in the future, to try and eventually make my way through all their house cocktails.

Great bar in Bridgeport showcasing tons of cool music. The space is cozy and intimate with Art Nouveau details and the drink menu had plenty of fun alcohol selections as well as NA options. My friend and I both agreed we would come back here in a heartbeat.

Had an excellent time at this new and trendy cocktail bar in the heart of Bridgeport. Not a lot of space, but an immense amount of authenticity. The cocktails were unique, delicious, and had a wonderful description with unique identifiers for each one. I had their old-fashioned and also a modern twist on a gin and tonic. Whether it's for happy hour or a late night cap, I would highly recommend it for all who are in the area. Also, the servers and bartenders were incredibly engaging and kind.

Classy, elegant and perfect for a date night. Their non alcoholic esspresso martini was actually one of the best things I've ever tasted.

The vibes are impeccable. A much needed addition not only to Bridgeport but also Chicago. Service is great, very open. Drinks are interesting and exploratory.

This place is so lovely. It's very intimate and small but the vibes are immaculate. Aesthetically it's very well put together and all the vintage details and the music themes are so fun. The staff is great and everyone seems to put a lot of care and effort into their work and also genuinely to enjoy what they do. Shoutout to Tia - you were lovely! I will definitely come back here.

Wonderful! Went on a Saturday night around 8. Able to get seated no problem. Drinks were great, ambiance was excellent, staff were friendly and kind, and music was good. Charis fits in well on Morgan Street and gives me Dorian vibes but in a smaller and more quaint way. There's nothing like this in Bridgeport and it's a welcome addition. Great spot to catch up with friends or have a date. Definitely will be coming back.

What an absolutely lovely time we had at Charis. The service is exceptional, the cocktails are creative and delicious and the whole place is thoughtful and perfectly curated. It is comfortable yet feels like a really special outing. And! I love that they play and sell vinyl. It was nice to sit and not have a screen in sight and watch strangers strike up conversations. A truly special place. Can't wait to go back!!

Well tried to go and we were told they were a capacity and to wait out side , yea NO..... we first went At 4 pm and sign said come back at 6, when we did come back at 6 we could not get in , so the gentlemen at the door said they posted info they open at 6 but I guess they forgot to update their website , not very polite

I'm not a yelp frequenter but really wanted to support this bar. I went 3 days after opening night and it was fantastic! Customer service was on point. Some of the most creative cocktails in the city. Great atmosphere and music. All around amazing experience. It made me wish I lived in Bridgeport. Really looking forward to going back and trying as many of the cocktails as I can!

Great spot in Bridgeport. Pretty small so you have to time it right. But the cocktails are excellent as is the music. I got there just after open and had a great time chatting with the staff. Highly recommended.

We were told they were at capacity. Then, another employee walked past by us and told us the same thing, " we are at capacity." The guy was more focused on us waiting outside rather than offering us a drink while we wait inside by the bar. Unwelcoming vibe. Definitely won't be returning. And that's my capacity.
