"If you’re wandering through Charleston on a summer Saturday, you’re likely to come across this busy farmers market without looking too hard—its hosted in Marion Square, a super central green space that’s flanked on one side by King Street and the College of Charleston and the other by Museum Mile. The market runs every Saturday from April through November (it really even extends into December, when it converts into a holiday market). There are plenty of prepared foods vendors, and it’s undeniably fun to peruse and taste local bounty like peaches, muscadine grapes, and okra. Definitely pick up some boiled peanuts to snack on while you’re strolling."

Google
Good mix of food and crafts vendors. It's a pretty small market and can become quite crowded on popular weekends. It's a nice setting to buy some food and picnic in Marion Square. Most of the vendors were pretty engaging and there was a nice variety of artwork. We always look forward to attending while in town.

Google
Real cool stuff. Plenty of vendors with an array of different food/drinks and crafts ..

Natalié Art

Google
A bit small but had a great variety of local artists and a small selection of fresh local farm produce. I got some delicious blackberries. I got to meet a lot of fun makers. I got some homemade dog treats and my girlfriends got some cold drinks, an iced tea and lemonade and someone was selling fresh iced kombucha so there are options for drinks in the crazy summer heat.

Google
What a great experience we had here! We stumbled upon this event when we went out in search of coffee. Such an adorable environment. We ate at the breakfast place. I don’t know the name of it but it was delicious. I witness them serving a homeless person at no charge. It was so nice to see. I loved seeing all of the artisans. My favorite were the handmade wooden bowls. I wish I had bought one!

Traveling Family

Google
Very disappointing. While visiting Charleston this was one of the things on the "to do" list so we made it a point to get up early to go but sadly no vendors were there.

Had a blast at my first Charleston Farmers Market. Plenty of local vendors showing their talents and great food to enjoy! A little warm today but lots of fun 😁

Google
Great farmers market with lots of stuff for everyone. Produce, food, drinks, local arts and crafts, and much more. There is usually some sort of live music. Pet friendly so feel free to bring Fido. Parking can be a challenge but that's standard for most of downtown Charleston. Great place to pick up Charleston souvenirs or local produce.

Google
Love seeing what local artisans are creating. One of my most favorite farmer markets on the east coast. A wide variety of fresh foods available.

Yelp
I went to the Charleston Farmers Market when I visited Charleston. I was impressed with the farmers market. There are so many stands with so many fruits, vegetables, other foods and goods. I bought a few peaches at the market and they were delicious! If I didn't stay at a hotel, I probably would have bought more things. The farmers market is at Marion Square. This is such a great location for a farmers market! There are also a lot of fun things to do in the surrounding area. Overall, I thought that the farmers market was really nice! I liked seeing all of the different stands and a lot of people walking around enjoying a sunny Saturday morning! I definitely want to go back to the farmers market the next time I visit Charleston. It's a great farmers market and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys farmers markets. Enjoy! Simona

Yelp
The market offered a lot of things!! But like every market, it's expensive. Then again, it's charleston you can't expect nothing less. Still had a great time and got a lemonade and flowers!

Yelp
I mean who doesn't love a farmers market. And this place definitely does it right. A good amount of produce which covers a complete line of the park. Another section that has a bunch of locally owned vendors ranging from art and jewelry to homeade food products. As you get to the end there is an endless amount of food and drink options. No matter what you want either a snack or a full meal this place has you covered.

Yelp
Let me tell all of you that live here, this is the place to be at the year end holiday weekend! So much to experience, absolutely great food vendors and the plethora of actual farmers bringing their produce is incredible. It's quite a show with live music, a variety of vendors and even a few street performers. Pets welcome on a leash!

Yelp
I always love a good farmers market - this place has lots of different vendors (farm to table, food, jewelry, art, and many more). I stopped by a crepe stand and got the spinach, tomato, mushroom, and feta crepe for $10. Pretty pricey but money does not exist on vacation mode. Pretty good but not the best crepe I've had. Should have gotten a sweet crepe too!

Yelp
We stopped here on a Saturday as we were headed out of town to the airport. The artisan crafts were cute...a bit pricier than what I'd would imagine farmers market prices should be. The produce DID look amazing though!!! We only bought 2 peaches. They were huge, sweet and perfect!!!! It only took us about 20 minutes to navigate the entire market. We found street/meter parking about 2 blocks away, so it was definitely easy to get to.

Yelp
Very standard tourist food. Overpriced and nothing special. Service was great but the place is crowded.

Yelp
Why 5 stars? Because this was a great way to see a snapshot of Charleston. --- --- --- The only bad thing about our visit to this market is that we couldn't eat much! We had just come from breakfast and had a really awesome lunch planned ahead in the day. There were SO MANY THINGS to eat, but I behaved myself and settled for one popsicle (which was delicious.) My favorite non-food vendor was the Carolina Coaster Company. I didn't buy anything, but I was very tempted to. I still have them bookmarked and might grab a couple of those bad boys soon. I *really* wish that someone in Tampa would emulate this, because I'd be their best customer. High quality landmark photos on high quality coasters? Done! I could do away with my kitchen table and just have a surface full of coasters :) But aside from coasters, popsicles and food I couldn't enjoy, this was a really pleasant experience. When the weather's nice, I can't see a reason for a tourist or nearby resident to not stop by here. Even though I spent a grand total of $4, I really enjoyed browsing all the knick knacks, people-watching and dog-watching. Next time, I promise I'll eat more. And buy a coaster.

Yelp
The farmers market is great! I've only been out here a handful of times but for some reason it seemed to have less vendors than what I remember. This is the spot to come to support local business and there's something for everything! Fruits, vegetables, homemade pastas, fresh coffees and teas, body scrubs, and soaps are just a few of the items being sold. There's an atm in site, for those who don't want to use cards. A few vendors only accept cash. They have about 5 or 6 tents dedicated to food. I tried the crêpe station...chicken, bacon, mozzarella, and mushroom. It was absolutely delicious! There's a few tables in the food section so people don't have to eat while walking. This is the perfect place to take a morning stroll with the family. They have a jump castle, slide and other inflatables for the kiddos. The park is also pet friendly. There was band and quite a few people were sitting in the grass listening to the smooth toons.

Yelp
I give three stars to the Charleston Farmers Market mostly because the limited number of booths, and the serious crowding situation. We visited the Charleston Farmers Market yesterday at around 11 a.m. This event is only open on Saturdays, and it's pretty much packed beyond belief in the late morning. Of course, it's always good to get to the market early, when the produce is fresh and the crowds are thinner. In addition to some good-looking fresh veggies, there was the usual assortment of handicrafts, jewelry, and art. Plus, of course, food trucks galore set up as booths. And at the periphery, homeless panhandlers and street artists performing breakdancing moves for a little cash. You can get some unique items at the Farmers Market, and you can get through it in about an hour or so. Worth a visit.

Yelp
Pretty cool farmer's market with lots of food, biscuit sandwiches, juices, and of course, veggies and fruits. Also sprinkled in the mix, lots of artisans selling pasta, bread, baked goods, etc. And of course, many artists in these grounds, even some weaved basket by Gullah women. People come with their pups and babies, it could be hard to walk by, but it is a pleasurable stroll nonetheless.

Yelp
I went to the farmers market Saturday in beautiful Marion Square. I have to say I am really impressed with the quality of artisans and crafters. Open from 8 am to 2 pm. Really cool art and jewelry. This is a real farmers market. I love fresh fruit and vegetables The only downfall is this farmers market needs bathrooms. I loved that dogs are permitted at the farmers market.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a necessary stop on Saturdays for locals and tourists alike! Even having lived here, there is always something new to see, eat, or buy. Just a great place to grab a cheap, delicious lunch (well under half of what you'd spend at a restaurant) and enjoy the sunshine in Marion Square. Several local nurseries have plants for sale, come here before going to lowes!

Yelp
I live in the land of Farmer's markets (San Francisco) so you would be hard-pressed to impress me. This was a cute one (on the smaller side from where I come from) - It surrounds a grassy park with a hotel on the corner (so great access to nice bathrooms!) There were a few good food stalls - everyone loved the gyro. We ate from the crepe stand. The pork belly sliders at the stall next to the crepe stand looked good.

Yelp
This market is a true gem & a delight to go to. My strong tip.. It opens at 0800. Go then as their is no one around, you can easily meander from one stall to another without lines, throngs of people and at your leisure really look at what you want to buy. The other bonus of going early is the parking.. The meters don't begin to operate until 0900 and there are many available spots all around the square at that time of the morning. Of course there are many different stalls ranging from fresh produce to baked bread to trinkets, and fresh coffee with a huge array of morning donuts and pastries. So if you are up & cannot sleep like I was head down there, make sure you carry a reusable grocery bag & in the summer a cooler to tote all your fresh goods home. Enjoy all it has to offer.

Kate E.

Yelp
Kind of disappointing. There were only like 3 actual farm stands, the rest were artisans or prepared food. Not sure if it's the time of year or what exactly but this was a lot different from what I remember a few years ago (just moved back down).

Yelp
There's something for everyone ... whether you're a visitor or local. I've noticed an increase in vendors selling fresh meats and poultry directly from, or partnering with a farm. After stuffing myself with that fabulous omelet, I chatted with Jason Houser, owner of Meathouse Butcher Shop and Exec Chef and Operating Partner of the Tatooed Moose. At the market, you can purchase a variety of handmade sausages, dry cured and smoked meats, pates and 'extras.' I purchased a jar of bacon jam ... meaty, salty, spicy and sweet. (Brunch will be at home on Sunday.) And best of all, the prices are reasonable, in fact, less per pound than Whole Foods, for the same items. Check it out at www.meathousebutchershop.com and Facebook. This was a real find!

Yelp
I love a good farmers market! For me, it is part of that whole aspirational living vibe that pre-federal prison Martha Stewart had going on back in the day. I like to imagine myself gliding along, getting inspired along the way by seasonal local produce, like gorgeous leafy green brussels sprouts orbs, still on their stalk, and huge heads of cauliflower in vivid shades of gold and purple, In reality, 9 times out of ten, I wind up buying my fruits and vegetables at the more convenient supermarket. So heck yeah, I was excited to include a visit here to cobble together a Saturday morning breakfast on our way out of town to Savannah: Upon an initial stroll-through, we couldn't help but notice a seeming lack of greens. Back in good old BK, even the smallest farmers market sells kale, while the bigger ones tend to also feature more esoteric options (purslane, anyone?). But no matter. We were there to scope out the prepared food vendors. And frankly, it was a bit overwhelming. We wound up starting with a couple Danishes. These were clearly made with care, but hubby opined that maybe the extreme humidity had caused the pastry to become too soft. We also got some Potato, Cheese & Egg Breakfast Tacos. These hit the spot, though there was nothing really memorable about them. However, I recall expecting corn tortillas and they wound up being flour. Oh yeah, we also scored some great Cold Brew. Surprisingly, the best part of this market for us as tourists turned out to be all the various "food souvenirs" we came across. We picked up bags of delicious small cookies, including Lemon Coolers and Benne Wafers (still not entirely sure what those are) to bring home. We also got some artisanal Grits that I am planning to *eventually* cook up and top with poached eggs. My favorite thing, though, turned out to be the Fried & Seasoned Peanuts in the Shell that we bought on impulse. You are supposed to pop these in your mouth, shell and all, which freaked me out at first, then grew on me in the end. Try the Old Bay flavor. You won't regret it. If I'm ever lucky enough to return, I vow to pay closer attention to the advice so generously offered by my new Yelp Talk Charleston peeps. I know you guys recommended some of your favorite Farmers Market eats, but I spaced and forget them all in a happy haze of sensory overload. .

Yelp
Definitely my favorite Farmers Market in Charleston. Located in Marion Square, it could not be more convenient for wandering around downtown on a Saturday morning. There are so many booths to explore, food or otherwise. I love supporting local farms and businesses, and the Farmers Market makes it easy to do it all in one place! If you've never been before, I recommend getting the lay of the land before you get stuck in one area. The entrance closest to the fountain on Calhoun gets super crowded because that's where all the hot food and occasional break dancing is, so I like to venture to the back and see what's going on there. You can't go wrong with a giant breakfast sandwich from Tasty Brunch, a roti from Roti Rolls, or a donut from Bked. I cannot leave the Farmers Market without getting fresh pasta from Rio Bertolini's. Their prices are reasonable and it's an easy weeknight meal because their pastas have enough flavor to stand on their own. Fresh produce wise, the summer time is the best for fresh peaches and watermelon that you can enjoy as you're walking around. May seem tough with a watermelon, but I've seen people do it! If you're looking for a fun and relaxed activity to do on a Saturday morning, the Farmers Market is ideal. I recommend getting there early before it gets too crowded/hot. Recently they have added more seating, which is great for hanging out instead of just grabbing your goodies and leaving.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this Farmers Market! It has so much variety of foods, people, and things that I can only find locally. The top things of interest were the foods. Check out my video on what I enjoyed, so that maybe you may like them too! Farmers Market Video Review! https://youtu.be/kmypbYdIC4Y

Yelp
When we have visitors in town they always want to go downtown and the Charleston Farmers Market on Saturdays in Marion Square is a great event to take our visitors too. There is something for everyone from produce to food trucks to live entertainment. Also a great place to people watch; just throw down a blanket on the lawn and enjoy.

Yelp
I always love going to the downtown farmers market. For me, it's more about the eating than the shopping, but there's plenty of both. Make sure not to eat the first food that comes your way. Take a full lap to make sure you don't end up making a giant mistake. Then you'll have food envy of everyone else there. If you have a dog, don't miss the Sailor Craft Knots booth. He makes the coolest and highest quality leashes ever. Not only have I been using his products for years, I've bought them as gifts for other dog lovers as well.
google avatar

Frank G.

Yelp
The best and largest around. Many vendors, great items made locally, great fresh veggies. It's a good way to spend the day. Of course King street is right here for extended shopping. There are many things to eat, from breakfast to lunch items. I love the People watching. Tourists, locals, kids, moms, dads, dogs, you name it. It's what Charleston's all about. Frank G

Yelp
Probably the saddest months of the year are January, February and March because there is no Farmer's Market in Marion Square. The huevos rancheros, chicken biscuit, bbq grits bowl, juices and beignets are just some of the food I have had on a Saturday morning. I usually bike to the market and they sometimes have a biking station where they will give you coupons to use around the market for biking. I like to think that the market has 3 stages: food to eat, vendors to buy art, soaps etc. and grocery shopping for your veggie needs. You must complete all of these stages in order to fully experience the Farmers market. The atmosphere is alive with a live band in the center of the Square and the breakdancers performing at the corner. A weekend is always a success when it involves going to the Farmers market!
google avatar

Christine C.

Yelp
Get there early as sometimes the best produce goes fast. We saw a sign for figs and made a beeline but to find out that some gal bought the whole lot within 5 min of opening. We found another vendor but it was pricier at $7.50/bunch. These were giant figs and super sweet, so I guess it was worth the higher price. If available, pick up fresh ricotta from the cheese guy, and you'll have the perfect picnic. If you're hungry, drop by Yardbird for the tastiest, juiciest, crispiest fried chicken ever! But ofcourse you cant go without a bowl of grits and pulled pork, so head over to Slow Cooked. Besides the food, the market offers great selection of artisan goods, ranging from sea salt cultivated from the Charleston-Atlantic sea harbor to handmade dog leashes. I just wished there were more vendors, as its only half the park right now.

Yelp
COVID ruined this place. we bought as much as we could. SUPPORT LOCALS whenever you travel!

Yelp
We love the farmers market. We go pretty much every Saturday to get coffee and walk around. Shout out to Sassyass Coffee! I love to see all the cool produce that is offered and how it changes with the seasons. We also like to get local honey from Bluepearl farms to make smoothies with in the summer times. It is fun to walk around and see all the people, and the doggos, enjoying a nice day in the park. The Holiday Market is a lot of fun too. You can find cool crafts and things to grab for gifts along with stuff to make wreaths or garland. It's a lot of fun. I always look forward to the weekends when I can go.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice Farmer's Market - fairly big selection of goods both fresh and prepped. Would have loved to stay for some of the food, but we already had plans for breakfast. The pecan lady was super nice. Prices seemed pretty average for a farmer's market.

Yelp
Great park, seasonal Farmers Market on Saturdays! Buy vegetables, grab a crepe or omelet form a vendor, and enjoy the scene. "Movies in the Park" installs an inflatable screen in the Spring and Fall, showing free films just after dark. Vendors will have everything you'll need, except that picnic blanket. Only 4 stars, because you'll have to actively ignore the John C. Calhoun statue looming over your head. Distract yourself by focusing on the new fountain. Better yet, forget your troubles by touring the confusing holocaust memorial. No, that's not a black tarp in the middle. According to the creators it's a "12 foot bronzed tallit." Hope that clears everything up.

Yelp
My husband and I finally went to the market for the first time. We have been missing out!!!! We bought lots of strawberries, kale, spinach, cucumbers, and other veggies from various venders. Love the freshness of the local produce, and the cost was less than the grocery store. We also bough basil, mint, oregano, thyme, and rosemary plants to put in our garden, all for $15. Our favorite spot was Bertolini's. We bought fresh pasta and gnocchi. And, we also just had to have some pistachio gelato. We will definitely hit them up first next time we go to the market!! There were plenty of food vendors there. We opted not to splurge this time. Although, next time I am hoping to try some of the Greek food, a crepe, some homemade pickles, and fresh olive oil. Gives us a reason to go back next week! Lots of non-food vendors as well. Local art, pottery, baby clothing, pet goods, among others. Be sure to try some of the local pop. I really enjoyed the honey/basil, and I am not much of a pop drinker. In all, we would say there were about 50 or so produce, food, and craft vendors. We thought it would be bigger, but we were definitely satisfied with the selection. It was slightly crowded at 9:30am. I will try to get there at 8am next week.

Yelp
This is a fresh addition to downtown Charleston every Saturday morning and early afternoon. It is an opportunity for local artists and farmers to continue to show the spirit of Charleston and keep the economy strong in this area. It is small and quaint but some nice traffic for locals and tourists to walk through the park and maybe pick up a couple of nice gifts or homemade donuts.
google avatar

Lisa N.

Yelp
One of the best farmers markets that I've visited recently, with a really nice balance of different vendors. I was sad that we couldn't buy any of the amazing-looking produce, since we're only in town visiting. We did pick up a jar of yummy salsa. We also enjoyed browsing the local artwork. A lot of the food vendors caught my eye but it was so hot outside that we passed and went to look for AC. I definitely recommend checking out the farmers market while visiting Charleston, and I could totally see myself being a regular if I lived there.

Yelp
The market was awesome! College friends and I were in town for the weekend and we were staying next door at the Embassy Suites. After enjoying a great breakfast, we meandered on over to the market. It was about 11 AM and although it was a bit brisk and windy out, everyone was smiling and really enjoying the day with their families, dogs and complete strangers! We were impressed by the pride that Charleston locals have. I mean, every vendor was selling something with "Charleston" in the name! The products were great from the soaps and lotions to the handcrafted jewelry, artwork and sweetgrass baskets. In fact, I loved the soaps and lotions from The Charleston Soap Chef so much that I ordered several of her products online later that day to send to my mom. Throughout the market, vendors offered samples of their food concoctions. We indulged in all sorts of seasoned nuts, cheeses and olives. The best bite of the day came from a red velvet whoopie pie, which occupied my mind all day! I really wish that I'd bought a few of those! We contributed some to the Charleston economy by getting a salted watermelon popsicle from "King of Pops", a taste of New Orleans with beignets from Cafe Tippeneaux, duck eggs and natural fruit bars from Nicole's Nutty Goodness. In between our tasting adventures, we watched kettle corn being popped and we marveled at the number of people in line for smoothies. We thoroughly enjoyed the market and based on the number of people who were there, it's clearly a popular spot in town.

Yelp
I feel incredibly lucky to live just blocks from this seasonal market. For years, I've made the Saturday morning trek over to Marion Square for fresh, local veggies, plants, herbs, and hand-made art. More recently, local farms have begun hauling in meats! River-Run Farms brings in grass-fed beef, there's a local captain selling shrimp and the Meathouse with fresh, local pork in various cuts. There is now even a dairy vendor, and a company selling free-range chicken, which both make me ecstatic! Best time to go is early in the morning when all the foods are fresh - 8:00 a.m.-ish, open April thru December. There are also great samples, coffee/tea, prepared foods, handmade soaps & creams, kettle corn, jewelry, hats & just about everything else Suthun one can dream up. Personally, I'm proud the city of Charleston has poured so much into the creation of our little world-class Farmer's Market. With vegetables and meats coming from Johns Island, Wadmalaw, Georgetown and a few farms in the Santee area, this is truly localism at work. Three Cheers for the Marion Square Farmer's Market.
google avatar

Kelly L.

Yelp
Local artisans, farmers, and freshly prepared foods. I had shrimp n grits and a cold brew coffee. Both were excellent. The vendors were all friendly and happy to share their samples. Plenty of well behaved dogs (and children). Live dancing. Lots of seating and shade cover.

Yelp
Music, food, fresh local produce - whats not to like about that! You can buy local honey, kettle corn, candles and lunch from multiple food trucks. Its a beautiful way to spend the morning enjoying local arts and little tastings of new products. It is our Saturday go-to to start the day. I really love Dashi pork belly buns, so that is usually our first stop. The Thai tea there is great too! My wife enjoys looking at all the hand crafted jewelry and art work. We always find some incredible produce that usually inspires our evening meal.

Yelp
A must for anyone visiting Charleston. The farmers market is open from 8am till 2pm every saturday only. You can park at the visitor's center for a fee then walk to marion sq where the market is being held. Eclectic mix of fresh produce, handcrafted jewelries, arts and photos, clothes and tons of drinks and food. Entrance is free for all.
google avatar

Yelp
We really enjoyed this spot! It was quick and a great place to grab a bite, fresh piece of fruit, homemade kombucha or jewelry. I recommend starting your day here and continuing to walk around Charleston and explore all of their amazing spots. You'll hear music, children running around, and see many puppy friends along your walk around.

Yelp
One of the BEST farmers markets I have ever been to. It's huge for what I expected out of Charleston. We were here while taking the Charleston Culinary Tour. Checked out a few stands for the tour then had some time to kill before we had to meet up with our tour group. They have such a nice selection of vendors from food related items like gourmet cheeses, dips, olive oils to items for the home, your pets, jewelry and the list goes on. I could've spent more time here if given a choice . Most of the vendors have their own website/FB pages so you can always order online and get items shipped. And many take credit cards which is great for those who never have cash on them. They're only there on Saturdays until 2pm but totally worth it to get up early and go! And the market is very dog friendly. Lots of the stands had dog bowls with water for our furry friends. Big plus for me!
google avatar

Sydney G.

Yelp
Love the farmer's market! Lots of entertainment and delicious food! Now that the Veggie Bin is gone, it's my go-to stop for fresh, local vegetables on the cheap. I highly recommend getting an iced coffee and some tacos and sitting under the trees when the weather's nice. I definitely recommend getting there early because it gets crowded super fast. When it comes to lemon, you want to find the tent that serves it in like plastic tupperware containers and squeezes fresh lemons. It's the best!

Yelp
I've lived in the Charleston area for almost 18 years now and only recently have I started going to the Farmers Market in Marion Square. I don't go regularly but I do enjoy it when I go! There are lots of great vendors with locally made goods like soap, jewelry, art, as well as farm fresh produce and food trucks. There are always plenty of options for food (breakfast AND lunch) and you will rarely be disappointed. I'm a special fan of the NOLA-style food tent- it was so delicious! The beignets are great but it's a lot for one person. :) I highly recommend the farmers market if you're looking for something free to attend and relatively cheap if you decide to buy anything. Just be warned, it can get very crowded so if you don't like people THAT much, either hit it early or find something else to do.
google avatar

Jen L.

Yelp
almost everything you need here! Great historical market! Definitely a spot you have to see.. Even if it's just a walk-thru. Everyone was very friendly, and it was actually very clean! (but it can get very crowded!!)
google avatar

Holly K.

Yelp
Enjoyed walking around the farmers market but it's VERY hot with very little shade on the main path (all the trees are off to the side). So be prepared to be drenched in sweat the entire time if you come during summer. Wide selection of cooked breakfast/lunch items-my favorite being the Roti Roll tent (also a well-known food truck). In addition to the fruit and veggie stands, fresh-squeezed lemonade, smoothies, donuts, and homemade gifts/cooking items (frames, coasters, pizza sauce, cheese, etc.) are available.

Yelp
Every Saturday morning begins with a coffee stop at Kudu and a walk around the Farmer's Market. They have everything: fresh produce, pasta, and cheese; local bread, honey, juice, and coffee; food trucks; art; even live music a couple Saturdays each month. The location is perfect, right in Marion Square, and you can park at the Marion Square garage across the street or the Visitor's Center garage just up King Street. It gets super crowded, so make sure you either go early or leave yourself plenty of time to browse!

Yelp
This is a large outdoor market with a mix of vendors. They're clustered together around the park. There was a mix of food, veggies, art, crafts, and other bits. Everything appeared to be home made, not like a flea market. We visited the crape stand and bakery stand. The crepes were very good, we ordered the tomato pesto. It comes out piping hot and you can eat at one of the nearby tables or under a monument. The blueberry and almond croissant was the highlight - so good! The whole place was nice, but a bit crammed. Things are all spread out too, so most people were just clustered around the food.

Yelp
We got here late with less than an hour left but it was nice. Lots of local food. Got some cookies and kettle corn. Honey. And a delicious açaí bowl of fruit and smoothie and all kinds of stuff. It was a nice event. But when they are done they are done. We were practically told to get out of the chairs we were sitting in because they were putting everything away.

Yelp
I love love love this farmers market! There is literally something for everyone. If you're looking for fresh local produce, there is an abundance here! You can snag fresh herb plants, smoked olive oil, fresh pasta, locally made furniture, pickles, chips and of course all the produce you can think of. I don't recommend that you eat before you come. The food trucks are beyond amazing. If you're feeling adventurous, try something new! You won't be disappointed. There's also almost always break dancing by the water fountain. It's a lot of fun to watch as you're eating your lunch. They involve the crowd and people really get into it. The farmers market is a great social place to come to get the best of the best out of Charleston. It is a must-go-to when you visit or if you're a local and haven't been, you're missing out for sure. I come every Saturday that I can drag my butt out of bed. The hours are usually 8:00 to 2pm. Don't come last minute, the vendors usually start shutting down early due to the heat.

Yelp
Oh man I love to come here and eat! Last visit I was able to get some delicious tacos. I bought some duck eggs to take home along with some olives from a nearby booth. But the best gift I got for myself was a map of Charleston in a 104 wooden frame from a barn in Oklahoma. Luckily the barn was salvaged for wood before the tornados that ripped the town apart. Love this market!

Yelp
We arrived at 8am. By the time we left at 10:30, we could barely move. Bought a beautiful repurposed window made into art. Roti Food truck - delicious Taco Stand - delicious, but small Gyro Stand - delicious, and generous Produce - eh, be wise. the cantelopes we purchased were not so good. Don't forget to take bags!
