Honestly I am a bad critic on most food places to eat! As I am a good cook and it's hard for me to go other places that I enjoy. Today was the first time I accidentally came across Charlie's BBQ and actually they were close but she said I could still come through the drive through and order so I did! I'm SO grateful that she had did that. Bc it is now my most favorite go to place to eat! Even though it was my first time everything was on point perfect! I got the ribs sliced beef potato salad baked beans! OMG to Die for! And Whoever the cook is... Needs a huge raise!! I will absolutely recommend it to everybody now and it's definitely not my last time. Although I only have tried that one meal. As perfectly made as it was. Ik there's not thing they could make bad!👍🙌🙌

Best bbq in Beaumont that I have tried. I have tried Tony's, 1701, Goings, Dickeys, and Rogers. Sweet bbq sauce, great meats, and tasty sides.

I've been a BBQ fan forever! Always searching cities I've traveled to for the best . Little did I know Charlie's BBQ was right here in Beaumont!! By far the best BBQ I've had ! I'm requested now to bring it when I visit friends from out of town ! Hands down the best ever!!

I traveled from Houston and called to asked if I could place an order bc I was 23mins away from closing... The woman reply NO with the worst attitude ever... Guess what I didn't get my bbq.. 5mins before 5:00 I wish places would understand the value of customers and we are the ones keep the doors open... It's okay to go extra bc this review could have been POSITIVE!!!!

In response to the owner: Yes, I did actually leave a positive and raving review when I enjoyed the food. It was the very first thing I did. ********************************************** Original: I was craving BBQ so off to Charley's I went. Was the first customer of the day and was thrilled because if not the wait can be a little long. I ordered the one meat plate. With sliced brisket and three sliced brisket sandwiches. $38.00 I know folks may come for me but I believe in leaving honest reviews. Charley....what happened? The brisket was fork tender only but dry and bland to the taste, the sauce saved it. Their sauce is one of the very best I've had in the area. Reminds me of the KC style sauce from the Midwest, sweet and spicy. The baked beans could have come from a can. So unappealing. The potato salad reminded me of store bought brand because the potatoes were slightly rubbery. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't fresh. I'll just say absolutely no one stuck their foot in either one. When I frist had Charley's it was lovely, I was excited and bragged on it often. No one could tell me any different but I haven't had it since May 2021 and I'm not sure what happened but it is not the same quality at all. All I can say is there is some new and stiff competition in the area right now. One can't afford to drop the ball at this point. Charley's sauce is still the bomb though. I may try them again but after today...not at all at the top of my list to do so. Sorry Charley!

I first reviewed this place a few years ago when they first opened, and I left a pretty bad review on a local Facebook review page. I decided to try it again today, and wow, it’s a completely different story. Thick slices of tender brisket and ribs both tasted perfect! Customer service was super friendly and the drive-thru was fast. Anyone complaining about the price doesn’t understand the cost of meats plus the time, effort and cost to slow smoke meat. I’ll be a returning customer for sure. 👍🏻

I loved the Turkey leg. It was huge. Enough for two people. It was tender and juicy. Needed seasoning though. I added hot sauce and it was excellent. My hubby ordered ribs and brisket with rice and potatoe salad. He says it was all good and tender however he doesn't care for all the smoke in the meat.

I tried your food while visiting my sister and brother in law..I asked for a dry chopped loose cut sandwich.. I did not get that.. against my better judgment I ordered a potato pie..shame, shame for $4.00. Barely a third of a cup of filling.. not sure what was going on with the taste and the crust., disappointed..

Epic beef ribs, only on Fridays but soooooo tender, juicy, smokey, saucy happiness. Love this place, don't tell too many people because it's small and only holds a small number of people inside but OH MAN, their food is a best kept secret

Good evening, everybody, so I had to come down here to Beaumont. Texas and I wanted to try some barbecue, so I try out Charles barbecue. The boudain was on point i also got a rib sandwich My rib sandwich was not the best. It was very hard and dry and to much sweet bbq sauce was not happy. I will not get that again.

A customer insisted on bringing us lunch today, Chopped beef sandwiches. Omg, so good! I don't know if I've ever bought a sandwich with softer, fresher bread than this! And the meat was so good. So glad to discover a new favorite bbq place close enough to grab lunch

I was over in Beaumont on a motorcycle ride, and had seen an article on Charlie in the March '24 Texas Monthly, specifically his smoked oxtail. The place was right on my route, so I decided to stop in to try it out and glad I did! Charlie, after learning I rode over from Austin, came out to talk a little barbecue, and what a nice guy! The oxtail was as great as described in the article!

Everything tasted great, service was on point no long wait!!! The price for 2 meat 2 sides 16.50 not bad priced at all!!

Their BBQ has cinnamon!! Everything is absolutely wonderful @ this place. Keosha B. took our order @ the drive-thru. So energetic & willing to share information about the food! Most definitely recommend.

Great southern BBQ, with Louisiana flavor. Rice dressing is on point, Brisket and Ribs are delicious. Try the links, with sauce on the side. You'll be coming back.

The link was dry and small. Almost like it was overcooked . The bbq sauce was very good though. Unsure if I'll will be visiting again...

We have bought food from Charlie's n many occasions. The last two visits our orders were not correct. You are told to check your order before leaving but it's difficult to open your styrofoam plate. The last visit there was so much red pepper we could not finish our meal. We will try somewhere else next time we want BBQ. We come from Port Arthur to patronize with them.

This was my first time eating here after someone suggested I try it. I just say that the link sandwiches were very good. It's good to come back home to Beaumont for a good homemade link sandwich that I have been unable to find elsewhere.

I have been loving his links since he started business on gulf street I would highly recommend this restaurant

I recently searched online for BBQ. Found Charlie's on college. Great food. Brisket falls off fork. Ribs and chipped are just as delicious. Don't pass by.

Hi, I ordered a chip beef sandwich plate. I got a plate with some chopped up beef with no barbecue flavor in it. There's some water down barbecue sauce, no onions, no pickles, store-bought potato salad and baked beans. I was very very disappointed and cheap white bread a chipped beef sandwich comes on a bun.

I was just driving down College Street in the mood for barbecue and saw this quaint little place. Stopped in and had the two meat plate which was homemade sausage link and sliced brisket. The brisket was very tender and lean. The homemade sausage link had a very good flavor and the insides would just fall apart every time you cut the sausage. It wasn't like your standard sausage that retains its shape. It was more like ground up brisket made into a sausage link. Even though it's something I've never experienced at a barbecue joint. For having a brisket sausage link, it was very good. There are no fountain drinks or pictures of tea. All of the drinks are in a refrigerator cabinet in cans or bottles. It's your standard soft drinks and bottled tea.

Not the best not the worse I've ever had. The salt level is r way to much. I can feel it's effect on me. The sausage I'm not a fan of. It has no snap and reminds me of boudin than a true sausage. Staff was great. Cut the salt in half and it will be much more enjoyable

It was pretty OK. The staff is very friendly but possibly much room for management to enforce health and safety measures as many workers already seem crowded together behind their counter and not covered in masks, etc. Chicken should have been cooked longer as it was very very pink inside, ribs were too fatty (but risk you pay for to-go ribs), beans were tasty, potato salad was OK, boudain (not pictured) and links were good. Bottom line, if you want quick bbq, you might choose to check this spot out.

Awesome St.Louis Ribs cooked perfectly.Brisket very good and tender also.baked beans and potato salad were excellent.would like to see side choices expanded (Mac & cheese,corn,etc).very friendly and professional staff.

We decided we wanted to try a new spot for dinner today and we decided to try Charlie's BBQ & Catering at 3125 College St, Beaumont, TX which was very easy to find. By the time we got there the place closed at 7 but the inside closed at 6 so we had to use the drive thru. There was actually a couple of cars in line ahead of us but the line moved rather quickly once we got to the window a nice lady came to the window and asked us what we like for today I decided to order the two meat plate with links and ribs with potato salad and baked beans my fiance decided to order a Two meat plate with ribs and brisket also with baked beans and potato salad and of course as I was looking at the menu I noticed they were also selling popcorn balls so of course I definitely had to try one of those to see if it was an authentic Steen syrup popcorn ball. Once we placed our order it didn't we didn't have to wait that long. The containers were heavy and The smell coming out if the window was heavenly. She thank us and said please come again. Once we arrived home we opened our containers and we were not disappointed. Everything was delicious. The ribs were so tender they literally slid off the bone with no work involved. They sell links there which is not the same as a sausage. The link was homemade almost with the texture if boudin but it was delicious. The brisket was also good literally melted in you're mouth. The potato salad and baked beans were also delicious, loved the texture and great homemade flavors. Last but not least I had to try the popcorn ball. It's good but definitely different had a cinnamon taste to the syrup which gave it a unique flavor. Old fashioned Popcorn balls made with Steens Syrup is absolutely my favorite and the best. But this one was pretty good. Great decision for dinner. So Yelpers if you're in or passing through Beaumont Texas check out Charlies Barbecue and Catering. You wont be disappointed.

Mmmmm, so good! I really like the fact, that they serve you the entire rib, rather than cutting them. I don't eat at this restaurant enough!

The food was amazing! My dad brought me here while i was in town visiting! Charlie was so nice & has a great sense of humor! The young lady at the front had a great smile & attitude! Make sure y'all go by and check them out! I got the ribs, brisket, dirty rice & Baked beans!

I was going to buy something from Charlie's barbecue and catering. I was sitting on the porch to cool off for a minute because I walk everywhere, me and my husband was going to buy something from him the owner started yelling at me telling me to leave that I couldn't sit there for a minute he stated well he couldn't come to my house and sit down he is a very rude owner and I will not be buying nothing from this restaurant. He is very very rude and disrespectful

We're visiting Baptist Hospital from out of town and stopped by for after a recommendation. Really good food and easy take out service! Sliced beef sandwich was excellent!

Friendly & helpful staff! Loved the chopped beef sandwich, turkey legs, and dirty rice.

I went by today and read the post that you are responsible for food after leaving. Check your order. Thats wrong. Plus you went up 3.00 0n what i wanted. Then the ribs were tough. I could hardly eat them. Worse ones i got from there. I ask for my sauce to be to the side and that was 54 cent more. I better go get bbq somewhere else. It's hard here.

Had good service. The meat was tender and their bbq sauce was sweet and spicy. Reminds me a lot of KC style bbq.

Doesn't look like much when you past by, I decided to stop to get a link plate at around 4:15 pm and I had to sit in a long line . I called to try to place a order but was told they not taking orders of the phone. I finish got to the window and guess what the young lady tells me there are no links at all. Wow

We were passing thru to Houston & looked it up on Yelp. Very good smoke flavor & loved the BBQ Sauce - had a little kick to it. Def stopping by next trip. We had Chicken & Ribs plate.

It was great! We had the sliced beef, potato salad and baked beans sauce on the side with 2slices of white bread. For the price of 10 dollars with tip.

EXCELLENT. We were just passing through on a road trip and wanted to get some "real texas bbq". This place had good reviews so we decided to go for it and it was AMAZING. We got the brisket and rib plate with rice and potato salad, highly recommend!! The bone literally fell out of my rib while I was holding it. I'll never look at grocery store ribs the same. Also, extremely friendly staff!!

I selected Charlie's because of the positive reviews. Most of the time yelp reviews are spot on but wasn't so impressed with the BBQ. It wasn't bad but probably will not visit again.

I've had better. Chip choices are cheetos, Doritos and 2 other. Not a Potato Chip in the Building. Potato salad was like Walmart Mustard Potato Salad. Bottle Drinks No P Towels in the Bathroom. BBQ Beef Sandwich is OK..... Sauce is Sweet. I'd skip this place.

The barbecue is unbelievable! I always get the ribs and brisket and have never been disappointed. I like their their potato salad, baked beans and rice. Their service is always so friendly. Keep up the good work!

Best barbecue in Beaumont. Had the beef and ribs plate with baked beans. Just enough sauce, meat was tender. Exactly what we were looking for.
